We are seeking a proven senior leader, ideally from a membership, not-for-profit, or service-led organisation. Knowledge of the road safety or transport sector is desirable but not essential. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of delivering commercially sustainable growth, sound financial stewardship, and influencing policy, government, or regulatory stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensure financial sustainability through budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and investment planning.
- Lead the development and delivery of the strategic plan with the Board.

Overall Purpose

Overall Objectives

As a Day Centre Assessment & Reconnection Worker, you will play a key role at that first point of contact. You will ensure people are welcomed calmly, understood quickly, and supported to access the right pathway. Action for ME is the only charity in the UK providing support, including healthcare, to people of all ages affected by ME. The charity was founded by Sue Finlay in 1987 and since then has been taking holistic approach so we can make an impact on multiple fronts - from amplifying the voices of people affected by ME in Government and leading on breakthrough research, to providing "lifeline" support and unique healthcare services on a daily basis.
Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), sometimes referred to and diagnosed as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), is a chronic, fluctuating disease, causing symptoms such as post-exertional malaise (PEM), sleep problems, problems with thinking and memory (brain fog), pain and crushing fatigue. There are an estimated 1.3 million people living with ME or ME-like symptoms, including PEM, in the UK alone.
Even in its so-called mildest form, ME can have a significant impact on an individual’s life, and not just on their health. A lack of understanding and awareness about ME means patients can experience disbelief, and even discrimination, from friends, family, health and social care professionals, employers and teachers.
For the first time there is an increased awareness of post viral illness because of the Covid -19 pandemic. After decades of neglect this offers Action for ME an opportunity to accelerate our work for people with ME in a way we have never been able to do before.
Job Purpose
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to accelerate research and transform the lives of millions of people with ME and Long Covid. We are seeking a Business Development & Partnerships Manager for Sequence ME & Long Covid, a new research initiative designed to explore the root causes of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) and Long Covid using large-scale, long-read whole-genome sequencing.
By developing and delivering strategic partnerships and funding strategy, you will work as part of team committed to making change happen through whole genome sequencing (WGS) of 18,000 people, the largest ever WGS in the world of any disease.
Sequence ME & Long Covid aims to pinpoint potential targets for treatment and bring us closer to meaningful clinical advances. Led by Action for ME, the partnership includes the University of Edinburgh, Oxford Nanopore Technology (who will provide the long-read technology), the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) and people with lived experience of ME, who have joined to seek funding for Sequence ME and Long Covid. Together, this multidisciplinary team brings world-class expertise in genomics, bioinformatics, co-production and ME research.

Senior Campaigner

Changing Markets is looking for an experienced and driven Senior Campaigner to join our dynamic team in running and winning market transformation campaigns. They will work on our high-profile campaign to reduce emissions from food systems and hold big corporate polluters accountable. The position is full-time (37.5 hours per week) with a semi-flexible working environment (daily working hours are flexible but attendance at the London office is expected three days a week).
The Role:
We are looking for a Senior Campaigner with at least seven years’ experience in running campaigns and a proven track record of success. They will work on our landmark campaign to transform the food system. The successful candidate should have strong writing skills, experience in commissioning research, writing reports, policy briefings, and building NGO coalitions. They should have outstanding inter-personal skills and be a team player with a good network of NGO contacts and the ability to form collaborative working relationships with a variety of different stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead the implementation of high-impact campaign strategies and tactics for our campaigns on food system transformation with a focus on agricultural super pollutants.
· Conduct research and analysis to inform campaign messaging and write reports, blogs, responses to consultations, etc. to advance our campaign goals.
· Ensure the impactful roll-out of campaign activities across media, digital platforms, and amplify our messages via coordination with partners, through organisation of events and other outreach activities.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with a range of stakeholders, including NGOs, journalists, researchers, policymakers and corporates.
Requirements:
The successful candidate must have:
- demonstrable experience in running and winning international campaigns;

Overall Purpose
The Project Manager will work with NHS member charities and key stakeholders to design, lead and manage a high-profile programme of activity alongside key partners and those with lived experience to create memorial reflection spaces for communities most impacted by COVID-19. This is referred to in this document at the ‘Reflection Spaces’ project.
You will bring a dynamic, can do approach to support the design and delivery of the Reflection Spaces project, ensuring collaboration across a wide range of stakeholders, including our identified NHS Member Charities, voluntary sector organisations, funders, evaluators and government officials to create beautiful high quality and reflective spaces supportive of those experiencing bereavement with creative elements to mark their significance.
It involves working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders including our member charities, NHS trusts, funders, evaluators, and government officials, and ensuring initiatives are delivered successfully.
Overall Objectives
To support the design and implementation of new sensory reflection spaces that create a living memory and legacy for communities of those lost during the pandemic. The new COVID-19 memorials will be created across the country that reflect the importance of green spaces to the nation during the pandemic for health and wellbeing, and to bring people together in remembrance and commemoration to those who have experienced loss.
To convene and engage stakeholders to inform the national elements of the project including development of the creative brief, ensuring a golden thread that brings all of the locally funded projects together.
You will coordinate teams, stakeholders and partners to ensure high quality delivery, excellent interpretation and relevance through codesign to represent the user needs from established steering and engagement groups to ensure quality and impact.

Key Responsibilities
Project Design and Development
- Work with the Programme Leads and SRO to develop the Reflection Spaces project from design to implementation considering sustainability and legacy of local project design and implementation with NHS charity members.
- Managing high profile stakeholder relationships and partners across government, horticultural partners and bereavement organisations to codesign the programme of activity and/or high level design brief to guide local project delivery.
- Establish evaluation requirements for the programme and projects delivered at a local level and in line with partners involved, leading processes to convene, capture and share evidence, data and insight to support knowledge of impact for users of the spaces. Within the Engagement and Fundraising Directorate, our aim is to maximise resources for the NSPCC’s mission by raising funds, providing the best possible supporter experience, and building long-term relationships between donors and our cause. To continue to deliver our mission we rely on the fundraising support of people across the UK for 90% of our annual income.
In a challenging fundraising environment, the need to keep children safe from abuse and neglect remains urgent. The Supporter Management team sits within the Philanthropy & Partnerships Department, established to steward and grow the NSPCC’s ‘High Value’ audience. This function delivers the research, propositions, communications and events that enable fundraisers to build rewarding, long-term relationships with our biggest supporters.
In this role, you will work with colleagues to identify which events will most attract and motivate high value supporters. Role purpose
Variety, the Children’s Charity is looking for a Head of People and Culture to lead and deliver all aspects of the charity’s people strategy. Part of the Operations Team, this is an exciting role combining strategic leadership with hands-on operational HR management. The postholder will be experienced in driving forward new strategies, ensuring Variety has robust, compliant and people centered practices in place. Retail Supervisor
Salary: Band 3 £27,153 – £30,444 per annum inclusive
Contract: Permanent, full-time | 37.5 hours per week, 8.30 - 4.30 Tuesday to Saturday (no hybrid working)

About the job role
St Joseph’s Hospice Charity Shops sit at the heart of the community in Hackney. Over the years we have built a loyal customer base and we are well known locally as the place to shop for quality pre-loved items, while offering exceptional customer service.
We are looking for someone to join our team as Retail Supervisor at our flagship charity shop at 77 Mare Street, working with a small, highly motivated Retail Team, which is primarily made up of committed volunteers. You will manage the day-to-day operations in the shop and generate income through both regular and ad hoc sales.
About you
The post holder will have strong retail experience and be able to provide a service to customers that is second to none and reflects the Hospice values.
You will have strong verbal communication skills and be capable of building and sustaining relationships with colleagues and customers. You will be experienced in supervising volunteers, ideally in a charity retail environment and be experienced in stock control, sorting and pricing donations.
You will be required to achieve financial targets and have an understanding of health and safety guidelines in the retail sector.
