Location: Homebased – however NCB promotes a hybrid, flexible way of working, staff can work remotely or from our Newton Abbot, Devon TQ12 or Central Sheffield Research in Practice offices if they wish

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled facilitator with strong experience in adult social care (or a related sector, e.g. housing, homelessness, mental health or criminal justice) who is motivated to make a real impact. While the role requires a solid understanding of research and its application, it is not a primary research post—the focus is on translating evidence into meaningful learning and development opportunities.

You will play a key role in designing and delivering high-quality learning experiences, including programmes, full-day workshops, webinars, and events, working with diverse audiences such as senior leaders and practitioners.

What you’ll be doing

• Designing and delivering engaging learning and development activities for a range of audiences
• Translating complex research, policy, and legal frameworks into accessible, practical learning
• Developing high-quality learning outputs (e.g. workshops, programmes, webinars)
• Building strong relationships with stakeholders and supporting collaborative projects
• Managing multiple projects effectively in a varied and fast-paced environment

We are looking for someone who brings:

• In-depth knowledge of adult social care, or related sectors such as criminal justice, housing and homelessness, or mental health
• Experience in facilitation and delivering learning, including workshops and webinars
• A strong understanding of research, policy, and practice frameworks
• Skills in knowledge mobilisation, with a passion for co-production and evidence implementation
• Proven experience in relationship management
• Excellent communication skills, including confident public speaking
• Understanding of learning theory and its application
• The ability to manage competing priorities and work flexibly (including occasional travel and overnight stays)

• Experience working within a brand management, brand governance or communications environment, ideally for a large organisation or charity. 
• Strong knowledge of brand management principles, visual identity, copywriting and integrated communications. 
  Strong experience reviewing and approving assets, constructively challenging work that does not align with brand guidelines, providing clear feedback and approving output. 
• Experience managing multiple projects and priorities while working with stakeholders, agencies and creative teams. 
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to provide constructive challenge and build strong relationships at all levels.

Working arrangements  

This is a fixed term contract until October 2027 covering a secondment.

About the Role

Daylight Women’s Day Centre is an exciting new service providing a place of safety and support for women who are long term rough sleepers in London. We want to reach women who have experienced abuse, mental illness, addiction, poor physical health, unclear immigration status and homelessness.  Our support will improve their health and wellbeing and enable them to move away from the streets.

Daylight has been designed based on findings from the CHAIN rough sleeping data for London and the Women’s Rough Sleeping Census.    This evidence highlights the importance of single gender services for women who hide from mainstream provision dominated by men.  Daylight will reflect the Connection Theory of Change, building relationships of trust with people who have no confidence in most health and social care services. Therefore, Trauma Informed Care lies at the heart of everything we do.

Working with the Daylight Service Manager, you will manage a team of staff and volunteers to set up, pilot and deliver this vital new service in a central London location. The service will include a combination of practical facilities such as showers and a laundry, health and wellbeing resources to minimise the harm associated with rough sleeping and support to move into accommodation.  We may develop additional aspects to the service as resources become available.

You will have experience in delivering psychologically, gender and culturally informed services to people who are experiencing street homelessness. You will use this experience to build relationships of trust with clients.  This will include a commitment to embedding co-production so that the service continues to improve and evolve.  You will facilitate in reach services predominantly with a health and harm minimisation focus and develop positive partnerships with external agencies.  You will also set up and oversee a group work programme.  You will provide strength-based and solution focused one to one support for women to move away from the streets.

Through compassionate and proactive management, you will help build a high performing, well organised and creative team who are passionate about supporting very vulnerable women away from the streets.

Salary: £41,599 - £45,097 (scale Points 26-30)

The Role

To provide a high-quality housing management and health and safety service, acting as a primary point of contact for tenants and delivering excellent customer service. The Opportunity

A leading international humanitarian charity is seeking an experienced Payroll Review Consultant to undertake a strategic review of its payroll function. This is a consultancy assignment for someone who can quickly assess the current payroll operating model, identify opportunities for improvement, and provide clear recommendations for the future delivery of payroll services.

The successful consultant will engage with stakeholders across Finance, HR and Payroll to understand existing processes, systems and controls before producing a practical roadmap for change. A key outcome will be determining whether payroll should continue to be delivered in-house or be outsourced to a third-party provider.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll transformation specialist who enjoys diagnosing complex operational challenges and delivering strategic recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct a comprehensive review of the organisation's current payroll function, processes and operating model.
• Assess the efficiency, effectiveness and resilience of existing payroll operations.
• Review payroll governance, controls, compliance and associated risks.
• Evaluate current payroll systems, reporting capabilities and integration with HR and Finance.
• Map end-to-end payroll processes and identify inefficiencies, duplication and opportunities for automation.
• Benchmark the current function against best practice.
• Carry out an options appraisal comparing an in-house payroll model against outsourcing to a managed payroll provider.
• Develop a robust business case outlining the advantages, risks, costs and implementation considerations for each option.

• Produce a practical roadmap and implementation plan for the preferred operating model.

Person Specification

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

• Significant experience reviewing, transforming or redesigning payroll functions.
• Proven experience leading payroll transformation or operating model reviews.
• Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation, compliance and governance.
• Experience evaluating outsourced payroll providers and managed service models.
• Excellent analytical and process mapping skills.
• Ability to engage credibly with senior Finance, HR and operational stakeholders.
• Strong report writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex findings clearly.
• Experience within the charity, public sector or other complex organisations would be advantageous, although not essential.
• A proactive, independent consultant who is comfortable working autonomously and delivering recommendations with minimal supervision.

Deliverables

The consultant will be expected to deliver:

• Current state assessment of the payroll function.
• Gap analysis against best practice.
• Risk and controls assessment.
• Options appraisal for in-house versus outsourced payroll.

This assignment is offered on an Outside IR35 basis and would suit an experienced payroll consultant, payroll transformation specialist, or operational review consultant with a track record of delivering strategic payroll reviews and organisational change.

The Woodland Trust is looking for a Fundraising Development Officer to join the Fundraising Development team and play a key role in raising vital income to support nature recovery across South West England. You'll build and manage relationships with major donors, secure funding through grants and legacy giving, and help deliver ambitious fundraising plans for projects, including the South West Rainforest Recovery Treescape.

This role is advertised as full-time, 37.5 hours per week.

The Role:

• Manage and grow a portfolio of major donors and prospects to secure significant philanthropic income, improve donor loyalty, and promote blended and legacy giving.
• Lead fundraising strategy and delivery for the Rainforest Recovery Treescape initiative, securing funding and acting as its fundraising champion.

• Experience in fundraising, the charity sector or a target-driven communications environment.

Rays of Sunshine is looking for a creative, sensitive and confident Senior Communications Officer to help bring our work to life through powerful storytelling, media engagement and compelling content.

This is an exciting opportunity to join us as we launch our new five-year strategy, refreshed brand and new website. You’ll play a key role in helping us share the stories of seriously ill children, young people and their families, raising awareness of our work and inspiring more people to support Rays of Sunshine.

As our Senior Communications Officer, you’ll act as our story development lead, working directly with children, young people and families to sensitively capture the moments that demonstrate the impact of our work. You’ll develop case studies, coordinate photography and filming, create content for social media, website, press and email marketing, and help ensure our storytelling is handled with care, consent and integrity.

You’ll also support PR and media activity, build relationships with journalists, identify media opportunities, draft press releases and case studies, and help coordinate activity involving families, colleagues, ambassadors, celebrities and high-profile supporters.

Alongside this, you’ll support our Wish Ambassador programme, celebrity and influencer engagement, digital communications, social media, website content and wider communications campaigns. Rays of Sunshine is looking for a confident, ambitious and relationship-led Corporate Partnerships Manager to help manage and grow a portfolio of valued corporate supporters.

As our Corporate Partnerships Manager, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional stewardship across a portfolio of established and strategic corporate partnerships. You will develop tailored partnership plans, deepen engagement, increase income and secure sustainable, multi-year support.

The role will be approximately 70% focused on managing and growing existing partnerships and 30% focused on developing new business opportunities through warm introductions, established pipelines and collaboration with colleagues. You will work closely with the Head of Fundraising, wider Fundraising Team, Communications, Services and Events colleagues to ensure partners receive an excellent experience and feel connected to the impact of their support.

You will lead on partnership stewardship, employee fundraising, volunteering, sponsorship opportunities, impact reporting, renewal conversations and partnership growth. You will also help identify opportunities for corporate partners to engage with challenge events, special events, public fundraising campaigns and Wish Community experiences.

We are looking for someone with strong relationship management skills, experience achieving fundraising or commercial income targets, and the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. You will be organised, proactive and confident managing multiple priorities, with excellent communication skills and a passion for creating meaningful partnerships.

We work at the intersect of suicide prevention, online safety, and tech accountability to demand a safer online world and move beyond the preventable harm. We believe a better online world is possible, one where young people are protected, championed and equipped with the skills, confidence and critical algorithmic literacy they need to navigate digital spaces and thrive.

Working closely with the Head of Partnerships and Fundraising, we’re looking for a Trusts and Foundations Manager to join our small team at a critical growth point to build and deliver a Trusts Fundraising Strategy (currently projected to generate c.£600K in 2027) laying the groundwork for long term, sustainable income generation as part of our wider Fundraising Strategy.

This is a new role for someone with substantial experience working in Trusts Fundraising, as well as strong project development skills, who can take our fledgling portfolio of funders and transform it into a pool of engaged supporters invested in MRF’s work in the long-term. You will have a demonstrable track record of securing five-six figure sums, the ability to create propositions in collaboration with programmatic colleagues, and the confidence to present compelling cases for support to a range of philanthropic organisations. You will also have excellent communication skills both written and verbal, a keen eye for connecting philanthropic organisations to the right projects to develop meaningful relationships, and the skills to deliver high-quality, detailed bids to further our strategic objectives.

We're particularly interested in hearing from applicants with experience working in one or more of the following areas: online safety, tech accountability, suicide prevention, education or children’s mental health.

Who We Are Looking For:

We are looking for an organised and proactive Administrator & Bookkeeper to join our small, collaborative team. This is a varied role at the heart of the organisation, providing pragmatic administrative support across membership services, communications, finance, governance and events.

You'll be confident managing multiple priorities, maintaining accurate records and using a range of digital systems. From supporting our members and maintaining our CRM to producing communications, updating website content and assisting with day-to-day bookkeeping, you'll play an important role in helping ADCH deliver an efficient and professional service.

As part of a small team, you'll need to be adaptable, self-motivated and happy to take ownership of your work while supporting colleagues across a wide range of activities. You'll be equally comfortable working independently from home and collaborating with the team, with travel across the UK and occasional overnight stays required.

Person Specification

• Essential
• Experience providing administrative support within a busy team.
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Canva and database systems.
• Experience of bookkeeping and using accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Xero, Sage or similar).
•  Experience of creating social media content for an organisation.
• Experience of updating website content using systems such as WordPress or Similar.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise workload, work independently and use initiative.

About the Role

As a Payroll Manager, you will take ownership of the full payroll lifecycle for a workforce of approximately 1,500-2,000+ employees, ensuring an accurate, compliant and timely payroll service.

You will lead a small payroll team, working closely with Finance and HR to ensure strong governance, reporting and continuous improvement across payroll operations.

As a Payroll Manager, you will:

• Lead the delivery of end-to-end payroll processing across monthly cycles
• Ensure payroll is accurate, compliant and delivered on time
• Manage payroll reconciliations, reporting and audit requirements
• Oversee complex payroll elements including statutory payments, deductions and variable pay
• Lead, coach and develop a team of Payroll Officers
• Act as a key point of contact for senior stakeholders across Finance and HR
• Provide payroll insights and reporting to support financial planning and decision-making
• Identify and implement improvements to payroll processes and systems
• Support system optimisation and work towards reducing manual processes
• Ensure submissions to HMRC and pension providers are accurate and timely

About You

Ideally, you will have significant experience managing payroll operations within a medium to large organisation, along with strong leadership and technical expertise.

You will be confident working in a complex, fast-paced environment and able to balance multiple priorities while maintaining high levels of accuracy and compliance.

You will need:

• Proven experience managing payroll for a large workforce (1,000+ employees)
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance requirements
• Experience leading and developing payroll teams
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience working in a controlled or audit-focused environment
• Experience using payroll and HR systems (e.g. IRIS, Cascade or similar)
• A proactive approach to improving processes and systems

Experience within the charity sector or working in a complex, multi-site organisation would be advantageous.
