As a charity, National Numeracy operates nationally, and for this role, we welcome applications from across the UK. You can work in the office in Falmer, East Sussex, and/or you can work from home. Our expectation is that you will visit Falmer occasionally during the year when the work requires. While much of the work for this role can be done from home or the office, it will also involve travel to meet with the team and partner organisations across the UK.

Job purpose

To supervise, coach and develop trainee debt advisers, ensuring they achieve the knowledge, skills and competence required to deliver high-quality debt advice in line with MaPS quality standards and organisational policies. The role is responsible for quality assurance, case supervision, progression reviews, placement support and safeguarding advice quality while helping to build a sustainable pipeline of skilled debt advisers across the Debt Free Advice partnership.

1. Supervise and develop Trainee Debt Advisers

Provide day-to-day line management, mentoring, coaching, technical supervision and pastoral support to Trainee Debt Advisers, enabling them to develop the competence, confidence and professional standards required to achieve accreditation and deliver high-quality debt advice. Provide the level of management expected of colleagues across the organisation and in line with internal policies and procedures.

2. Deliver learning, quality assurance and progression
Support trainees throughout the Debt Free Academy learning and accreditation pathway by delivering technical coaching, soft skills development, reviewing casework, conducting live and recorded interview observations across telephone, video and face-to-face advice, providing constructive feedback, assessing competence against agreed quality standards, and identifying learning and development needs to support timely progression.

3. Coordinate placements and partner engagement
Plan, coordinate and oversee trainee placements with Debt Free Advice delivery partners, building effective relationships with host organisations to ensure placements provide safe, high-quality learning experiences that support trainee development and programme objectives.

4. Monitor performance and manage programme delivery

Monitor trainee performance, progression and wellbeing, proactively identifying and managing risks to learning, quality or programme delivery. Contribute to programme reporting, maintain accurate records, and support the successful delivery of the Debt Free Academy against agreed milestones and quality standards.

5. Contribute to training and continuous improvement
Support the design, development, coordination and delivery of induction, policy, technical training, skills development and continuing professional development (CPD) activities across the Debt Free Advice partnership. Promote best practice, share learning, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Debt Free Academy and wider training programme.

6. Contribute to the wider Training Team
Work collaboratively with colleagues across Toynbee Hall and the Debt Free Advice partnership, undertaking additional duties as required to support the effective delivery of the Debt Free Academy, organisational objectives and funder requirements.

The role:

This role covers the current post-holder's maternity leave for an anticipated 15 months. As Financial Controller you will lead CSE's finance team, directing and overseeing the finance function in compliance with appropriate accounting standards and practices, company and charity law.

You will provide timely, accurate financial and management information to support strategic decision-making and effective budgetary control by our Senior Leadership Team, Trustees, project managers and other budget holders. You will line manage the Finance Manager and Finance Assistant and be a member of CSE's Senior Management Team.

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, you will work alongside the wider Operations Team to provide operational support that underpins delivery of our charitable mission. This is a fast-paced role and we need someone who can get up to speed with minimal delay.

Specific responsibilities

An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:

• Take responsibility for day-to-day accounting, invoicing, payroll, VAT returns, payments and banking, credit control and cash management, including timely monthly management accounts.
• Line manage the Finance Manager and Finance Assistant.
• Co-ordinate the annual budget cycle and mid-year budget refresh alongside the Director of Finance & Operations and SLT.
• Attend monthly SMT meetings to share the previous month's financial results and handle related queries.

Essential attributes for this role include:

• Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or equivalent accountant.
• At least seven years' post-qualification experience, including at least five years in a financial management role.

Ablaze are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Employability Workshop Manager to deliver our Employment & Skills programme workshops for young people aged 16-25 who are not in education, employment or training (NEET).

This role is ideal for someone who has experience planning and delivering engaging workshops, can build positive relationships with young people facing barriers to progression and is passionate about helping them develop the skills and confidence needed for employment.

Alongside workshop delivery, you will support the collection of programme impact data on our secondary school career mentoring programme and contribute to reporting for our business partners. You will work closely with existing members of our team, including our Employment and Skills Project Manager, who oversees the programme, our Employment and Skills Project Assistant, who supports programme administration and our Senior Programme Manager, who manages and oversees all our school based programmes.

About the Role

You will be responsible for workshop delivery as part of the Employment & Skills Programme which take place during:

· September to October (approximately 4-5 weeks)

· April to May (approximately 4-5 weeks)

During these periods, you will deliver workshops 2-days per week and join young people on 1-day work insight sessions at local businesses. The People and Culture Manager is responsible for overseeing and strengthening the organisation's people function, ensuring that staff are well-supported, processes are legally compliant, and that workplace culture reflects We Belong's values of lived experience, empowerment and inclusivity. The role requires both professional HR expertise and an understanding of how trauma, lived experience, and care considerations should inform organisational policies and staff management. 

Key Responsibilities 

• HR Strategy & Compliance develop policies, ensure legal compliance, report to CEO and Board 

• Recruitment & Development lead inclusive hiring, onboarding, appraisals and workforce planning 

• Staff Welfare champion wellbeing through a trauma-informed, lived-experience approach 

• Employee Relations support managers on performance, disciplinary and conflict resolution 

• HR Systems maintain accurate staff records, ensure data protection and streamline reporting 

Essential CIPD Level 5+, proven HR management experience (charity or lived-experience-led organisation preferred), strong employment law knowledge, trauma-informed practice understanding, and excellent communication skills. 

Desirable Experience in health, social care or community settings; knowledge of safeguarding frameworks; organisational change experience. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.

Young Carers Sessional Worker

We are seeking a flexible, reliable, and enthusiastic Sessional Worker to join our Young Carers team. The primary focus of this role is to provide consistent support at our weekly Young Carers After School Club, which takes place every Thursday during term time from 4:30pm – 6:00pm. The club is delivered across two age groups (5–11 and 12–16 years), and regular attendance and commitment to supporting both groups each week is an essential requirement of the role. 

You will work alongside the Young Carers team to deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote wellbeing, reduce isolation, and provide children and young people with a fun, safe, and supportive break from their caring responsibilities. You will encourage participation, build positive relationships, support behaviour where required, and help ensure every young person feels welcomed, included, and valued. 

You will also play an active role in planning and preparing for the After School Club as well as assisting with the set-up before each club and the clear-up afterwards to ensure the space is safe, organised and welcoming. 

In addition to the weekly After School Club, you will support the delivery of our school holiday programme, including trips, workshops, activity days, and special events, subject to your availability. This will include contacting families, promoting upcoming activities, recruiting and booking young carers onto both the After School Club and holiday activities, supporting attendance, and helping to ensure activities are well attended by those who would benefit most. 

From time to time, you may also support outreach and engagement activities, including attending community events, working with local schools and partner organisations, and helping to identify hidden Young Carers so they can access the support and opportunities available through our service.

  This is a sessional role, therefore hours are not guaranteed but will be offered based on project need.

Overall purpose:

Breaking Barriers exists to support refugees and people from forced migration backgrounds into meaningful employment.

The Client Caseworker is integral to delivering that mission. Acting as a client’s primary point of support, you will lead and coordinate their progression toward employment — whether through language development, requalification, training or direct employability support.

This role requires someone who can take ownership of client journeys, drive forward action plans, and deliver both one-to-one and group-based support that moves clients closer to work. Caseworkers  may initially focus more heavily on one pathway area, but the role is designed to provide integrated, cross-programme support over time.

Collaboration across programme teams is essential to ensure clients experience seamless, joined-up services and consistent progression.  Your contributions are valued, and you can make a meaningful impact on people’s lives.

Key responsibilities:

1. Client casework and support

• Manage a caseload of clients, providing structured one-to-one support in person and online.
• Conduct holistic assessments to understand clients’ qualifications, skills, language levels, aspirations and barriers.
• Co-create clear, outcome-focused action plans aligned to sustainable employment.
• Drive forward client progression across relevant pathways, including:
  • Employment readiness and job search
  • CV development, applications and interview preparation
  • Professional requalification and accreditation routes
  • English language progression
  • Sector-specific training or volunteering
• Deliver group sessions to help clients build knowledge and skills in a supportive peer-learning environment.
• Maintain regular contact to monitor progress, adjust support and maintain accountability.
• Identify and address barriers to progression, advocating where appropriate.
• Safeguard clients appropriately and escalate concerns in line with policy.
• Refer and signpost to additional support services where required.

2. Stakeholder and volunteer engagement

• Engage with stakeholders and partners to develop networks and identify job, training, education and work experience opportunities for clients.
• Support outreach initiatives by developing and maintaining relationships with partners (e.g. referral partners, training providers, employers and professional bodies)
• Advocate on behalf of clients to address specific barriers to employment or accreditation.
• Collaborate with colleagues responsible for employer and partner engagement to match clients to appropriate opportunities.
• Liaise with volunteers to source additional expertise and mentoring opportunities for clients.
• Represent Breaking Barriers at occasional events or meetings as required.

3. Monitoring, Reporting & Administration

• Maintain accurate, timely and detailed client records on the CRM system.
• Track and report on client progression against agreed milestones and KPIs.
• Ensure documentation and evidence are completed in line with reporting requirements.
• Complete enrolment and administrative processes efficiently.
• Support monitoring and evaluation processes to inform service improvement.

4. Cross-Organisational Collaboration & Integrated Working

• Work closely with colleagues across all functions to ensure seamless client journeys, aligning support, avoiding duplication and maintaining clarity of progression plans.
• Share knowledge of sector pathways, labour market developments and client trends to inform service development and team learning.
• Contribute to service development as the service redesign evolves. 
• Participate actively in team meetings, case reviews, reflective practice sessions, appraisals and inductions, contributing to strong team relationships and continuous service improvement.
• Take advantage of training and development opportunities to build new skills and share knowledge across teams.
• Foster a collaborative, solution-focused team culture.

Essential Criteria

Experience

· Experience providing one-to-one advice, guidance or support, ideally within employability, education, refugee support or a related field

· Experience delivering or co-facilitating group sessions, workshops or training.

· Experience working toward defined targets, outcomes or deadlines in a structured environment.

· Understanding of barriers faced by refugees and people from forced migration backgrounds in accessing employment.

· Experience maintaining accurate records, whether using a database, CRM or equivalent system.

About the role:

We are looking to appoint a Family Support Worker on a full-time basis (35 hours, 5 days per week), to deliver a high-quality family support service as part of our Southampton Care Team to families in the local area, at a time where they need it most.
