Malaria is one of the oldest killer diseases in history; even now, despite recent progress, it claims the life of a child every minute. Malaria No More UK is part of a global movement that is determined to make this the generation that beats this killer. To realise this vision, we need to mobilise governments, influencers, businesses and the public, inspiring them to commit funds, energy and resources to ending deaths from malaria and wiping out the disease for good.

Role description

Malaria No More UK is looking to appoint a highly motivated Senior Advocacy Officer to join our team and help implement our advocacy strategies. Working with both our UK and global advocacy, you will cultivate a new generation of malaria champions and push malaria up the political agenda. This role will work on increasing our visibility and the resonance of our case with key stakeholders, including decision makers in the UK and around the world. Securing increased support will be vital to global efforts to accelerate progress towards ending malaria for good within a generation. We are looking for a confident communicator with strong project management skills and a good understanding of political advocacy.

Key responsibilities

• Providing project management support for a range of projects relating to our UK and global advocacy, including acting as project lead on agreed projects.
• Strategic stakeholder mapping, including building and maintaining relationships with UK parliamentarians and keeping contact records in our database updated on a regular basis. 
• Lead the delivery of high-quality events for policy and political audiences, including at the UK party conferences, and international meetings.
• Daily monitoring of the global malaria landscape and UK parliamentary activities and keeping the team informed of relevant developments and engagement opportunities.
• Drafting of political briefings on key policy areas within malaria and global health.
• Providing administrative support relating to our UK and global advocacy, including the coordination of stakeholder mailings, updating our contact management system (Salesforce), scheduling and attending meetings, and taking minutes.
• Managing relationships with scientists working on malaria and providing them with advocacy insight through our UK Malaria Technical Expert Collective.
• Identifying opportunities to engage political decision-makers and new malaria champions in the UK.

Essential

• Strong commitment to the mission and values of MNMUK
• Demonstrated experience working in a parliamentary, advocacy or campaigning role.
• A degree, or equivalent experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail.

About the role:

No one should leave hospital with nowhere safe to go.

As Homeless Pathway Coordinator, you’ll be a consistent and trusted presence for patients experiencing homelessness, helping them navigate what can feel like an overwhelming mix of health, housing and support systems. You’ll spend time with patients on wards and in A&E, listening to what matters to them, understanding the barriers they face and making sure their voice remains at the heart of every decision.

Day to day, you’ll manage a caseload, complete assessments, develop clear discharge and support plans and make referrals to housing, healthcare, social care, mental health and substance use services. You’ll follow up actions, keep plans moving and advocate firmly when someone is at risk of being discharged without the right accommodation or support in place.

You’ll work closely with the Homeless Pathway Lead, hospital teams, Newham Council and SHP’s wider Health Team, bringing professionals together and helping everyone stay focused on the person behind the case. You’ll also build links with community services, identify gaps in existing pathways and share learning that helps the hospital respond more effectively to people experiencing homelessness.

This is a role where strong relationships can change the course of someone’s recovery. You’ll join an experienced and supportive team, with opportunities to deepen your knowledge of inclusion health, homelessness and psychologically informed practice through training, reflective practice and shared learning.

About the role

At Betknowmore UK, we work to prevent and reduce gambling-related harm through support, education, training and community engagement, embracing the insight and knowledge of 'Experts by Experience' alongside evidence-based approaches. As our Grants, Contracts and Commissioning Lead, you'll grow our income from two connected routes: grants from charitable trusts and foundations, and statutory and commissioned income secured through contracts, tenders and procurement. You'll be expected to at least sustain our current grants and contracts turnover, with real ambition to grow it by a further 10-20%.

This newly created role owns the full grants and contracts cycle — identifying opportunities, managing the pipeline, project-managing complex bids and writing tailored, persuasive applications. You'll be well supported: subject matter experts across the organisation will provide technical content for bids, budgets are prepared alongside finance, and our CEO and directors front the most senior funder relationships.

What you'll be doing

• Delivering a pipeline of high-quality grant and statutory/commissioned bids to meet agreed income targets, prioritising by value, likelihood and strategic fit
• Researching and identifying trust and foundation funding opportunities, and writing compelling, tailored proposals drawing on our impact data and stories
• Developing income from government, health and other commissioning bodies, including preparing and submitting tenders and procurement responses such as ITTs and PQQs

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations and line managing our HR Officer, you'll lead three connected priorities: building the capability and confidence of our managers; shaping our workforce development strategy, including career pathways for colleagues with lived experience; and making sure we're fully prepared for the employment law changes arriving under the Employment Rights Act 2025. The Natural Capital Assessment Partnership (NCAP) has operated for over 30 years. Formerly the Habitat Biodiversity Audit, a key remit of NCAP has been to survey and gather habitat data across Warwickshire, Coventry and Solihull, combining ecological field surveys with pioneering satellite imagery and remote sensing analysis. Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse (AAFDA) is a well-established and respected national charity offering specialist and expert advocacy and peer support to families bereaved by fatal domestic abuse. We have an exciting opportunity to build upon and grow our fundraising success to date, in the role ofFundraising and Grants Manager. We are seeking an experienced fundraising professional, with the drive and determination to manage all aspects of our fundraising function.

AAFDA is currently funded by statutory bodies, trusts and foundations, corporates, events and individuals. Under your management, you will identify, cultivate and grow these existing and new fundraising streams.As AAFDA’s Fundraising and Grants Manager, you will be responsible for oversight and growth of voluntary and statutory funding income, including from individuals (regular and one-off gifts, major donors and legacy giving), community groups, trusts and foundations, corporates, the statutory sector (including Police and Crime Commissioners) and other benefactors. Starting from a strong foundation with multiple opportunities for growth, you will lead on the delivery of our ambitious, multi-year, multi-disciplinary fundraising strategy with an annual fundraising plan agreed with senior management.  With keen funder and customer awareness, you will regularly monitor and review both the plan and the strategy, in addition to working closely with our Finance Manager to manage diverse income streams and achieve income targets to fund AAFDA’s unique support and advocacy work with families bereaved by fatal domestic abuse.  Holding responsibility for maintaining and developing the website and building social media programmes, you will undertake an ambassadorial approach in all activity to assist our CEO and Director of Services to lead and manage the AAFDA brand and corporate identity, with a focus on generating earned income, by extending awareness of what AAFDA does and how successful we are.

We are opening a new detox centre and are looking for Support Workers to provide safe, compassionate, and practical support to individuals undergoing detoxification in a structured, trauma-informed environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day support to clients during detox, ensuring safety, dignity, and wellbeing
• Recognise and respond to signs of withdrawal, deterioration, or crisis, escalating concerns appropriately in line with protocol
• Act as a keyworker for allocated clients, offering consistent support and engagement
• Carry out regular welfare checks and monitor clients’ physical and emotional presentation
• Support safeguarding practices and report concerns in line with policy
• Assist with drug and alcohol testing in line with training and procedures
• Support safe medication administration in line with policy and competency assessment, and report any side effects or concerns.
• Follow health & safety, infection control, and lone working procedures at all times.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary professionals (e.g. nurses, clinicians, therapists) to ensure safe and effective care.
• Liaise with community services and professionals (e.g. housing, probation, recovery services) to support move-on following detox
• Maintain accurate electronic records and contribute to handovers and team communication
• Support with practical tasks as required, including maintaining clean and safe communal environments

Essential criteria:

• Experience in a support, care, or people-focused role
• Strong verbal and communication skills
• Understanding of safeguarding and willingness to follow safeguarding procedures
• Ability to recognise risk and respond appropriately, including escalation of safeguarding or medical concerns.
• Ability to build professional and supportive relationships with vulnerable individuals
• Willingness to complete mandatory training (e.g. safeguarding, first aid, de-escalation, substance misuse).
• Basic computer literacy and confidence using electronic systems
• Calm, reliable, and compassionate approach, including in challenging situations
• Willingness and ability to work across different shift patterns, including some weekends, as required by the service

Desirable:

• Experience in mental health, substance use, recovery, or related services
• Understanding of trauma-informed approaches
• Experience of key-working or supporting individuals with complex needs
• Knowledge of detox or recovery pathways
• Experience liaising with community or statutory services
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary team

Founded in 2016 by Kevin Jenkins OBE, Ambition Aspire Achieve has grown from a small number of projects at the Terence Brown Arc in the Park into a well-established charity working across Newham. Today, AAA supports nearly 1,000 children and young people each year through its hubs, with many more reached through outreach, schools-based work and community programmes.

Our work is grounded in the belief that every child and young person should be able to enjoy their childhood, overcome barriers, build confidence and develop the skills and self-belief to achieve positive futures. We deliver a broad programme of support including after-school clubs, holiday programmes, youth clubs, SEND activities, mentoring, outdoor learning, sports, family days, residentials, detached youth work, schools-based youth safety work, community events and targeted family support.

This is an exciting and important moment in AAA’s journey. Following a period of growth, the charity is now focused on consolidation, quality and long-term sustainability. We are financially stable, well regarded and deeply rooted locally, with strong relationships across funders, schools, corporate partners, local agencies and community organisations.

The next Chief Executive will provide clear, steady and values-led leadership, working closely with the Chair and Board of Trustees. They will lead and support the staff team, strengthen organisational sustainability, maintain and develop partnerships, champion safeguarding and inclusion, and ensure children and young people remain at the heart of every decision.

As AAA does not currently have a dedicated senior fundraising post, the Chief Executive will also play a central role in securing and maintaining the income needed to sustain and develop the charity’s work. This will include trusts and foundations, statutory funding, corporate partnerships, individual donors, appeals and wider supporter engagement.

We are looking for someone who can combine strategic leadership with practical operational understanding. You may already be a Chief Executive, or you may be an experienced senior leader ready to step into your first Chief Executive role. What matters most is your ability to lead with clarity, care and resilience; build trusted relationships; secure income; uphold strong governance; and keep AAA’s values at the centre of how the charity works.
