Supporter Journey Lead

We’re looking for a Supporter Journey Lead to join our Supporter Experience team.

This is a key role in shaping how supporters experience Help for Heroes across different journeys, touchpoints and moments that matter.

You’ll work with teams across Commercial to map, develop and improve supporter engagement journeys, turning strategy, insight and campaign learning into practical plans that strengthen relevance, supporter experience and long-term value.

About the Role

As Supporter Journey lead, you’ll lead the mapping, development and ongoing improvement of supporter engagement journeys across Commercial.

You’ll work with product owners, delivery teams and enabling colleagues to understand current journeys, define target journeys, identify pain points and opportunities, and turn strategy, audience insight and campaign learning into clear, practical plans.

In this role, you will:

• Map and maintain current and target supporter journeys across Commercial, defining key stages, touchpoints, triggers, handoffs and moments that matter.
• Run journey mapping, process discovery and improvement workshops to identify pain points, gaps, opportunities and inconsistencies.
• Work with product owners and relevant teams to define journey requirements for campaigns, communications, process changes, data capture and operational improvements.
• Coordinate with Digital/ESP, data, content, supporter care, fundraising and other teams to make sure journey changes are understood, aligned and deliverable.
• Help ensure audience segmentation is applied meaningfully, so content, asks and next steps are relevant to different supporter groups.
• Use campaign learning, supporter feedback and operational insight to identify where journeys should be adjusted, strengthened or simplified over time.

What you’ll be doing

As a Senior Policy and Advocacy Manager, you  will lead the development and drafting of River Action’s overall policy strategy as well as leading on specific policy areas. You will play a leading role in shaping and advancing River Action’s political and policy influence, working closely with the Senior Management Team, Chief Executive and wider organisation to develop and execute an impactful policy and advocacy strategy.

River Action is the Co-Secretariat for the APPG on Water Pollution, offering our Policy and Advocacy Manager a unique opportunity to shape the policy direction for River Action and also to influence policy development across Parliament. 

You will also work closely with our public affairs agency who manage our daily Westminster activities. 

You will:

• Lead River Action’s development and delivery of our policy and advocacy strategy on sewage, industrial water pollution, and water scarcity 

• Collaborate with River Action’s team and external partners to ensure our collective work is underpinned by robust and forward-thinking policy analysis and evidence.

• Develop policy analysis to support campaign, communications and policy strategies, based on a strong evidence base and a sound understanding of the relevant legal and policy frameworks.

• Translate complex policy and evidence into concise documents with clear messages and compelling campaigns to engage political and policy stakeholders.

• Monitor and analyse political and policy developments, interpreting their implications and opportunities for River Action and its supporters.

• Generate analysis to enable participation in public consultation processes, including drafting high-quality and persuasive consultation responses and briefings for Westminster and Whitehall audiences.

• Increase our political influence with exciting policy interventions, ensuring River Action’s voice is heard at the highest levels of decision-making.

• Build and maintain relationships with key policymakers, civil servants, industry experts and partner organisations.

• Support grassroots community groups and third-sector partners in engaging with their local representatives for effective advocacy.

• Organise and attend key political meetings and events, including the Water Pollution APPG, stakeholder roundtables and parliamentary events.

• Manage strategic policy partnerships, including our relationship with Wildlife and Countryside Link and other third-sector organisations.

• Ensure River Action’s policy and advocacy efforts align with our creative campaigns, by making sure colleagues and spokespeople are well-briefed and communications content is well-informed to maximise reach and impact.

• A good understanding of the UK water industry, the key UK water-related policies and the issues that are impacting our rivers, land and wildlife.

• Knowledge of the challenge of water scarcity.

• Excellent communication and writing skills with close attention to detail and the ability to produce concise and persuasive briefings, reports and consultation responses.

• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working creatively and at a fast pace with colleagues, stakeholders and partners. 

• Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to proactively plan and prioritise work and to report your progress and impact.

The Engagement Manager will play a critical role in helping River Action influence change by developing high-level relationships, building strategic partnerships and providing strategic leadership across River Action’s engagement programmes to advance our policy, legal and campaigning objectives.

This is a senior engagement leadership role responsible for providing strategic oversight of both stakeholder engagement and community engagement activity, ensuring River Action’s grassroots campaigning and external influence work are mutually reinforcing

What you’ll be doing

The Engagement Manager will lead River Action’s overall engagement strategy, providing strategic oversight of both stakeholder engagement and community engagement activity across the organisation.

Building and managing relationships with senior leaders across government, regulators, NGOs, businesses, financiers, academia and civil society, the postholder will identify opportunities to increase River Action’s influence, support policy and advocacy objectives, and help position the organisation as a leading voice on river protection and environmental reform.

The role will provide strategic direction and oversight to River Action’s community engagement work, including the River Rescue Kit, Community Toolkit and catchment-based campaigning activities, working closely with the Senior Engagement Coordinator who will lead day-to-day delivery, community support and programme implementation.

Working closely with colleagues across Public Affairs, Campaigns, Communications, Legal and Development, the Engagement Manager will ensure engagement activities contribute directly to organisational priorities and campaigns and that community insights help shape River Action’s policy, legal and campaigning work.

Main Responsibilities:

Strategic Stakeholder Engagement

• Develop and deliver River Action’s stakeholder engagement strategy.

Role Purpose

As part of the Clinical Services leadership team, the Adult Team Manager provides operational oversight, line management, and clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team delivering bereavement support to adults after the death of a child. The post holder ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, and evidence-informed therapeutic support that is in line with organisational standards and clinical governance frameworks. They maintain a small caseload to ensure continued practice relevance and lead by example through high quality therapeutic work. The role balances hands-on leadership with operational management, contributing to service development, outcome measurement and quality improvement under the direction of the Head of Clinical Services.

Main Responsibilities

Operational and Team Management

· Oversee the daily operations of the adult bereavement service, ensuring effective coordination, delivery, and monitoring of therapeutic interventions

Working closely with families and social workers you will develop strong relationships to ensure that referrals for gifts continue to grow and awareness of the charity is built in the paediatric oncology hospital wards. 

You will manage the charities social media platforms by providing updates and stories about the charity, responding to comments and messages from supporters with the aim to build awareness and grow supporters for the charity. You will use social media as a tool to encourage people to attend events or support the charity through campaigns and fundraising. This will require strong writing and communication skills and empathy and understanding of the charity’s mission. You will work closely with the website team to ensure the website is updated accordingly.

You will be the first point of contact for supporters interested in fundraising. You will be responsible for the development of our fundraising and events portfolio and be involved in all event management and administration.This will include planning events, organising venues, budgets and logistics around the event. Contacting suppliers, sponsors, volunteers and speakers. Promoting the events through email, posters, websites and social media. Ensuring that fundraising targets for each event are met and reviewing event success afterward. Encouraging community involvement in events and managing those volunteers on event days. You will identify opportunities to grow our supporter base through outreach and networking with individuals, community groups and organisations. You will build relationships with event providers and proactively seek new opportunities for events. Through a multimedia approach you will advertise and promote events efficiently and you will recruit participants and celebrate their achievements. After the events you will report on the performance and income targets.

The Role

AOTOS is seeking an experienced programme manager to lead delivery and further development of our existing programme of training for its members and the wider singing teaching community. 

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver AOTOS’ programme of training and CPD in line with board strategy and member needs.

• Developing an annual programme plan and budget for approval by the board

• Be the face of AOTOS’ events and teacher development programme, including hosting online and in person events and conferences

• Review, develop and manage our Essentials teacher training course, including recruiting, training and managing course leaders

• Report against relevant KPIs for the programme, providing regular reports to the board of trustees

• Engage with AOTOS membership to understand training needs to feed into the board for future programme development

• Sourcing and booking venues and speakers for national conferences (currently two per year)

• Working with Operations Manager and Communications Officer to ensure programme operations and communications run effectively

Hours and Working Pattern

• Approximately 4 to 6 hours per week (may vary seasonally depending on event workload)
