Old Meeting is a fellowship of the United Reformed Church, worshipping God, supporting each other and sharing the Message of the Good News throughout Bedworth's diverse community. As part of our vision for growth we are looking to recruit a Youth and Families Worker to help our work with young people and families. We are looking for someone who will share our enthusiasm to reach out with the Gospel and with God's love, to develop our outreach through Messy Church and other activities and to find new ways to worship which will include all generations.

As our Youth and Families Worker you will be at the heart of our outreach with young people and families. 

This role is for you if:

You have a desire to bring new ideas to enhance the life of the Church

You have a willingness to share in the life of Old Meeting including worship on average two Sundays per month and some mid-week activities.

You are looking to develop leadership of intergenerational and/or Fresh Expression worship

What you'll be doing:

You will assist with development of activities for young people and the establishment of a youth outreach programme

You will assist in the development of Messy Church

You will work with the existing leaders of Messy Church (for families) to increase the opportunities for engagement, for example through holiday projects, after-school club activities or in Fresh Expressions (such as Forest Church)

You will plan and enable intergenerational social activities

You will develop relationships with children and families and provide a pastoral ear for connected families

You will build effective relationships with local schools

You will help develop “Vintage Messy Church” activities for older people which will lead to active participation in the worshipping community

You will participate in, and occasionally lead, Sunday worship and other aspects of Church life

In due course you will seek funding to sustain (and even grow) the outreach

You will share in other tasks as may be agreed between you and the Pastoral Support Group as opportunities arise

Outline Terms and Conditions

1. Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS disclosure and the taking up of no more than two satisfactory references.

2. Appointment will be subject to the satisfactory completion of a six-month probationary period.

3. The appointment will be for three years in the first instance (subject to the probationary period noted above),

4. The hours of work will be 20 hours per week, flexible by need and negotiation. It is anticipated that evening and weekend working will be part of the role, along with the main Christian festivals.

5. The Salary will be £15 per hour, paid monthly by arrangement.

6. Paid holidays – 25 days per year pro rata plus public holidays

7. The post is based at the Old Meeting URC. The person appointed will be required to travel in the local area and will also be able to work from home by agreement.

8.      The Minister of Old Meeting URC, or an Elder appointed by the Elders Meeting, will be the line manager

The Role

Social prescribing link workers will work as a key part of the primary care network (PCN) multi-disciplinary team. Social prescribing can help PCNs to strengthen community and personal resilience and reduces health and wellbeing inequalities by addressing the wider determinants of health, such as debt, poor housing and physical inactivity, by increasing people’s active involvement with their local communities. It particularly works for people with long term conditions (including support for mental health), for people who are lonely or isolated, or have complex social needs which affect their wellbeing.

Responsibilities include:

• Working with direct supervision from the Programme Lead/Senior Link Worker and input from the PCN’s Clinical Lead GP, take referrals from staff in GP practices within the local PCN.
• Provide personalised support to individuals, their families and carers to take control of their health and wellbeing, live independently and improve their health outcomes, as a key member of the PCN multi-disciplinary team.
• Developing trusting relationships and taking a holistic approach, based on the person’s priorities and co-produce a simple personalised care and support plan to improve health and wellbeing, introducing or reconnecting people to community groups and statutory services.
• Work collaboratively with all local partners to contribute towards supporting local community groups and organisations, making themselves aware of local resources and “assets” through mapping and then building a relationship with these organisations.  Also sharing intelligence regarding any gaps or problems identified in local provision with commissioners and local authorities. 
• Social prescribing link workers will work collaboratively with GP’s and have a role in promoting social prescribing and educating non-clinical and clinical staff within their PCN multi-disciplinary teams on the benefits of social prescribing
• Raise awareness of other services available within the community and how and when patients can access them. Linking into the work of Neighbourhood Network Schemes, locality Adult Social Care & Community Mental Health Teams.

About You

As a Social Prescribing Link Worker, you will have a Level 3 qualification in a relevant field (Health & Social Care, Health Trainer, Health Improvement, Community Family Worker, Psychology) or be working towards/willing to work towards.

You will have:

• Demonstrable commitment to professional and personal development
• Experience of working directly in a community based context (including unpaid work)
• Experience of supporting people with a mental health need and or complexities/vulnerabilities
• Experience of delivering one to one support

This is an exciting opportunity to become a Key Worker within our high performing psychosocial drug and alcohol service in HMP Birmingham.

You will be based in our psychosocial team working with adult males (over 18 years old). You need to be committed to supporting people who use our services to make positive changes to prepare them for release into the community, and you will arrange continuity of care. You will work in collaboration with the clinical team and integrated working is a key element of this role. You will work within the prison setting and contribute towards the wider prison drug strategy.

Having experience of supporting people with complex health needs including substance use, you will bring knowledge and commitment to deliver drug and alcohol treatment. You will have a non-judgemental attitude and a desire to support the lives of people who use our services to be healthier and safer by delivering a high-quality service.

Experience of working with drug and alcohol use is essential. You will be a competent communicator, with the ability to work independently and be comfortable and enthusiastic, both with the highlighted client group and working in partnership with other service providers. Previous experience or knowledge of working with individuals on opiate replacement treatment, and/or involved in the criminal justice system will be advantageous.

About the Role

The Refugee and Migrant Centre is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our Resettlement Department. As part of our mission to assist refugees and migrants in overcoming barriers to integration, this role will play a key part in helping newly arrived refugees settle into their new communities with confidence and independence.

RMC is a well-established charity with over 25 years of experience working with vulnerable refugees and migrants. We provide a range of services, including immigration advice, housing support, welfare assistance, and employment guidance. Our work ensures that refugees and migrants receive the necessary support to become equal citizens in the UK.

Purpose of the Role

The Family Support Worker will support newly arrived refugees and their families, enabling them to navigate the complex challenges of settling into the UK. Working closely with our multi-skilled resettlement team, you will deliver holistic support to refugees across a range of services, including welfare benefits, housing, health, education, and employment. You will also play a key role in empowering families to build their confidence, independence, and long-term integration into the community.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Client Support & Case Management:

• Manage a caseload of newly arrived refugee families, providing tailored support to meet their specific needs.
• Conduct home visits and orientation sessions to welcome clients to their new community and complete holistic needs assessments.
• Develop Personal Integration Plans for each household on a quarterly basis, helping them set goals for long-term independence.
• Coordinate support with external agencies and specialists to address clients’ needs, ensuring seamless service delivery.
• Support families with housing, welfare benefits, education, healthcare, and employment.
• Assist with registration for healthcare services (GPs, dentists, opticians) and support with medical assessments.
• Facilitate access to education for children and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes for adults.
• Provide guidance on immigration matters and ensure the correct paperwork is in place, including registering for Biometric Residence Cards and supporting welfare benefit applications.
• Ensure clients are financially supported by applying for relevant welfare benefits and assisting with mandatory reconsiderations as required.

Integration & Independence:

• Help clients develop the skills and knowledge to achieve independence, focusing on self-sufficiency and integration into the local community.
• Support families in securing suitable accommodation, liaising with landlords, housing providers, and relevant stakeholders.
• Provide ongoing orientation on UK systems, including financial rights and responsibilities, social services, and community resources.
• Encourage social integration by organising outings and community events to foster connections with local services and other refugees.

Partnership Working & Community Engagement:

• Work closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure that refugees have access to the services and support they need.
• Act as the lead contact for other agencies involved in supporting your clients, ensuring a collaborative approach to case management.
• Promote the long-term integration of refugees by identifying and facilitating opportunities for engagement with mainstream services.

Administrative & Reporting Duties:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions and case progress, ensuring compliance with organisational policies.
• Provide written reports and case updates as required by the Resettlement Coordinator and Manager.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of services based on monitoring and evaluation feedback.

General Responsibilities:

Whether assisting students and residents on a daily basis, supporting weekend residentials, conferences and events, or working with the team which delivers our annual Foundation Celebration, this role is at the heart of providing a welcoming campus environment.

The Campus Accommodation and Hospitality Manager will lead a team of reception and housekeeping staff to deliver and administer a full range of campus services. As well as providing an efficient and welcoming reception service, this includes the management of meeting rooms, accommodation booking, achieving and maintaining high standards of housekeeping, and overseeing contracted catering and refreshment services. The postholder will be part of a committed staff team, giving and receiving support to deliver the operational needs of the Foundation in a way which reflects our ethos of hospitality, care and community. 

This is a full-time role, with some evening and weekend work during weekend residentials and other events. The postholder will also participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota.

Key responsibilities

1. To manage the delivery of accommodation and hospitality operations.

The Charity

James’ Place exists to save the lives of men in suicidal crisis through delivering free clinical services. We currently have centres in Newcastle, Liverpool and London; and in early 2026 we will be opening our fourth centre in Birmingham. Our new centre in Birmingham will be there to support suicidal men living in the West Midlands.

Our trained, professional therapists deliver a proven clinical service in a warm and welcoming environment, ensuring that men are seen quickly at the point of crisis. We have so far treated over 4,300 men who might otherwise have been unable to access the support they desperately need.

The Role

We are recruiting for a team of clinicians to deliver our clinical proven intervention at our new James’ Place centre in Birmingham, due to open in early 2026. As a Senior Suicide Prevention Therapist, you will work alongside the Head of Centre to manage and support the clinical team in delivering our unique intervention and co-producing effective safety plans to maintain their safety. You will be an experienced mental health professional or therapist with demonstrable interest in suicide prevention and team management and leadership. You will support men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis and their supporter(s), delivering our unique intervention and co-producing effective safety plans to maintain their safety. Successful applicants will be joining a new team at a pivotal time and will have the opportunity to shape the local culture at James’ Place Birmingham. Training and support will be provided by the Head of Centre in Birmingham and the wider James’ Place team.

Person Specification

The role requires someone with a relevant qualification who can confidently lead a team and support men experiencing a suicidal crisis. You will need to be able to effectively conduct risk assessments and deliver our clinically proven therapeutic intervention to ensure client safety. Strong therapeutic communication, the ability to work autonomously and teamwork skills are also essential to this role, as well as the ability to build trust and hope.

The role

As Head of Operations, you will lead all operational functions of Foxglove. You will ensure that our finance, HR, legal compliance, fundraising, systems and internal processes enable the organisation to carry out its mission effectively.
