Job description

We are seeking a coordinator (maternity cover) for our educational mentoring programme for young refugees and asylum seekers. The coordinator will oversee our East of England (Peterborough and Cambridge) mentoring hub by recruiting and training volunteer mentors, and matching them to young people needing additional educational support. As a key component of this work is instigating and maintaining relationships with partner and referral organisations, we’re looking for someone who’s skilled at building relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders including vulnerable young people, teachers and social workers, both in person and virtually. As the face of RSN in the East of England, we need someone who’ll be quick at getting a handle on the project’s existing networks and keen to both expand and deepen our relationships locally.

To apply, please submit your cover letter and CV through CharityJob by midday on Friday 9th October. Your cover letter (maximum 900 words) must:

  1. Explain why you want to work at RSN in this particular role;

  2. Tell us why you think you would be a good fit for RSN and this particular role;

  3. Provide one or two examples of where you have built a successful relationship with an external organisation in a previous role;

  4. Explain how your previous experience of working with young refugees, asylum seekers or other vulnerable young people equips you for this role;

  5. Tell us about a time when you have had to be very organised and keep clear records - please explain why this was important and how you made sure it was done well.

Virtual interviews will take place on Thursday 29th October.
