We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Philanthropy Manager with a passion for international development to join our growing team. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will bring deep expertise in major donor fundraising, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a strong understanding of how to identify, cultivate and steward high-value supporters to grow sustainable income.
You will play a key role in developing and managing a robust pipeline of major donors, securing significant restricted and unrestricted gifts through tailored cultivation, compelling proposals and high-quality stewardship. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you will help shape the future of War Child’s major donor programme and contribute to a sector-leading supporter experience.
Reporting to the Philanthropy Lead, you will lead the delivery of an effective stewardship programme, nurture long-term relationships with major donors and supporters, and help deliver a programme of high-quality events and engagement opportunities. Key Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify and develop a strong pipeline of six-figure philanthropic opportunities (restricted and unrestricted), using research, prospect mapping and data-led insight.
- Design and deliver high-quality cultivation, solicitation and stewardship plans for major donors, including meetings, proposals, reports, events and tailored communications.
- Lead and contribute to the planning and delivery of a diverse programme of philanthropy events, including those hosted by high-profile individuals and Ambassadors.
- Support the development of new fundraising products that strengthen donor engagement, retention and long-term relationships.
- Work collaboratively across teams and working groups, contributing insight and expertise to shape fundraising strategy and identify new opportunities.
- Accurately manage donor relationships and performance through Salesforce, including recording communications, monitoring income against targets and reporting on progress.
- Act as an advocate for War Child, maintaining strong knowledge of our work and contributing to a culture that prioritises safeguarding and best practice.

In this exciting role you will:
- Provide admin support to the team, keep the corporate supporter database (Raiser’s Edge) accurately maintained and up to date and assist with data gathering, reporting and insights.
- Provide excellent customer service, manage, respond and direct corporate partnership enquiries via email, and telephone.
- Support the planning and delivery of corporate partnership activities by working with both partners and St Mungo’s teams.
- Follow fundraising best practices, adhere to St Mungo’s policies, and contribute to a supportive team culture.
- You will work closely with the Coordinator, who will provide you with support, supervision and training to develop the necessary skills to succeed in this role.
In this role, you’ll work flexibly across different locations and activities, giving you the chance to engage with teams across St Mungo’s and external partners. You’ll also be required to spend time at our Central London office for training, collaboration, and team building. We support agile working for the rest of the week - whether from home or other St Mungo’s sites in London or regional locations.

About the role
We’re looking for a Individual Giving Officer with Individual Giving or project management experience to join our Individual Giving, Legacies and E-commerce Team.

We are looking to recruit a Grants and Foundations Officer to join Caritas Salford’s fundraising team. You will be part of a team that is passionate about tackling poverty and inequality, where your work will have a real and visible impact. Your focus will be on maintaining and growing income from charitable trusts and statutory agencies.
As a Grants and Foundations Officer, you will work closely with senior managers and service managers, researching potential funders, securing funding from trusts, foundations and other potential funding partners. As well as building and stewarding lasting relationships that will help sustain and grow Caritas’ mission. We will support your development, helping you grow your fundraising skills, take on complex projects and help shape bids for commissioned services.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills, strong research and analytical expertise, be highly organised and confident in using IT systems and digital tools for research, communication and data management. Additionally, you will have the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a range of stakeholders, plus a willingness to learn from others about fundraising and social impact.
37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday with occasional evening and weekends required.
Part time would be considered
Flexibility to work remotely, with regular visits to Caritas services across Greater Manchester and Lancashire.

Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice helps babies, children and young people who are seriously unwell, and their families, make the most of every day. The charity aspires to become a centre of clinical excellence for children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.
We’ve been on a major upward trajectory in recent years, with more children being supported, more major hospitals being partnered with and more supporters donating. Philanthropy, which covers Grants, Trusts & Foundations and Major Donor fundraising streams, is pivotal to Noah’s Ark, typically accounting for around 50% of the charity’s voluntary income. This is an area of real expertise for Noah’s Ark, with much scope for further refining. The successful candidate will therefore be instrumental in taking this key income stream forward, add to an exciting portfolio and gain further training and support, working as part of a high-performing and super supportive team, ready for its next development phase.
The Grants, Trusts & Foundations Manager will work closely with and report to the Head of Philanthropy to develop the Trust pipeline, along with instrumental cross-team work on applications and reporting processes for other income streams. Whilst we work towards developing a more diverse funding model and navigate changes to the external Trust environment, sustaining and growing income from Trusts will remain vital.
The post-holder will manage a Philanthropy Officer (Trusts & Major Donors) and, together, they will be instrumental in taking the Trust programme to the next level, establishing lasting relationships with funders, securing new grants, increasing multi-year gifts and improving both quality and volume of applications and reports. They will also support the Philanthropy Officer, and the wider team, to the same end with their respective portfolios.

You will also support other team members with their applications, as well as acting as a key liaison with our Care team to obtain latest information about service delivery.

Role purpose
