We are looking for a creative, dynamic and adaptable corporate fundraising manager with a minimum of three years’ experience or relevant sales experience to develop and deliver a successful corporate fundraising strategy. You will need to have strong interpersonal skills and significant  experience of delivering pitches and securing new business, coupled with demonstrable success of securing sponsorship and commercial participation opportunities.

You will have a natural flair and genuine passion for corporate fundraising, be a terrific storyteller with  exceptional communication skills to bring this unique world leading cancer centre alive for businesses in an engaging and purposeful way. . Most of all, we are looking for someone whose enthusiasm, innovation and ambition  will match those of the Charity. . The Charity team is responsible for raising millions of pounds each year to ensure Christie patients receive gold standard care and treatment. This includes everything from access to world first clinical trials and receiving radiotherapy in state-of-the-art treatment centres to young adults being cared for in a bespoke age-appropriate centre and being able to offer patients anxiety reducing complementary therapy, or even creative sessions in our art room.

You will be managing an established income stream that raises important core and project funding for Willen Hospice. In this integral fundraising role, you will have the opportunity to transform our services by working closely with service teams to get unrestricted and restricted grants from Trusts and Foundations. 

With strong communication & relationship-building skills you will report to the Associate Director of Income Generation, working across clinical and support departments and with external partners to write high-calibre, persuasive applications and reports.

Set in the tranquil grounds of Willen Lake, Willen Hospice is the leading provider of specialist palliative care within the Milton Keynes area. We offer 24 hour / seven days a week palliative care to people who have advanced disease, caring for people in our Inpatient Unit which accommodates 15 patients and the local community. About the role
This is a new role for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity as we look to expand our successful Individual Giving & Lottery programmes.

The post holder will deliver quality fundraising campaigns, including Cash Appeals, Regular Giving and Lottery that will grow income, supporter base and lifetime value. Putting supporters at the heart of the Charity’s work, the role includes acquisition, retention and stewardship of individual donors and lottery players to achieve a sustainable increase in income for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity.

About the role

We’re recruiting for an experienced Digital Marketing Manager to steer us in the next stage of our journey. This is an exciting development of an existing role at Overcoming MS and will allow the successful candidate to make the position their own.

The Digital Marketing Manager will be responsible for delivering an innovative new digital marketing approach, through the innovation, creation and delivery of projects and activities which increase leads, donations and engagement for Overcoming MS charity.

 Key Responsibilities

The Digital Marketing Manager will work across several areas, including:

1. Conversion optimisation

· Increasing our donations and data capture - to enable us to continue the dialogue and create donations from a greater percentage of those who visit our website, or interact with other digital channels.

· Working with our agency partner to optimise key landing pages and signposting for conversion.

2. User journey optimisation

· Helping people find the right content based on data optimisations so that more people find what they need and understand what else the charity could offer them. Using HotJar for insights.

· Automated email journeys - Building customer journeys to support the Program pillars to build deeper relationships with people in our community.

3. Increasing reach and traffic generation

· Testing different low-cost digital reach opportunities.

· Including paid social, referral activities, calls to action across our channels, YouTube SEO and SEM. Working with an agency to optimise journeys from Google Grant, leading to clearly articulated actions (eg donations, sign-ups, click-throughs).

4. Testing to improve results continually 

· Email AB testing - Deliver AB testing to inform future email AB tests.

· Plan AB testing for email marketing projects, for the website, and other projects as needed to improve conversion rates.

5. Digital project management

· Testing new digital versions of courses and tools. Project management of website updates.

6. Campaign support

· Leading, innovating and supporting advocacy, communications and fundraising campaigns as needed to increase reach, engagement and conversions.

7. Gathering community feedback

· Continue the plan to access regular community feedback to influence Hub improvements and other digital channel improvements.

8. Supplier collaboration

· Working with our suppliers to optimise collaboration, reduce cost and increase impact.

About you

Strong digital skills

• A proven track record of managing digital products/projects/programmes which create value for end-users. 
• Strong working knowledge and experience in digital solutions.
• Experience in evaluating and improving existing digital programs.
• Significant experience working with 3rd party digital providers to create solutions that work for the target audience.
• Confident in Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
• Excellent understanding of AB testing to maximise conversion rates.
• Experience in using tools like HotJar (preferred).
• Strong analysis skills.

Role Summary     

With Alcohol Change UK’s innovative Try Dry® app welcoming more users than ever before, we are excited to be developing our offer to Local Authorities which will benefit from receiving valuable local health data trends and insights taken from our app. This role will be instrumental in designing a refreshed product, recruiting new Local Authorities to join us and providing ongoing support to them to make a real difference to those drinking at risky levels in communities across the UK.   

Key Tasks and Responsibilities   

Development of a Try Dry local product   

• With the Senior Digital Programme Manager, take learnings from existing contracts with Local Authorities and develop a refreshed package of support to market to Local Authorities, enabling them to gain valuable insights into the drinking behaviours of people in their local area  

• Develop professional, standardised reports to be shared with those who have signed up   

• Develop a ‘package’ of benefits (access to local data, insights, tailored marketing materials, additional support) that makes signing up a more compelling offer   

• Working with our digital agency, recommend ongoing technical improvements to the app and reporting platform to improve user experience   

Recruiting to a Try Dry Local ‘network’  

• Recruit new Local Authority members to our Try Dry ‘network’ – presenting regularly to Local Authority clients and demonstrating the benefits of membership through presentations and marketing calls   

• With support from other staff, develop wider marketing approaches across multiple channels, including digital, print and social media advertising  

• Attend conferences, events and trade shows to advertise as appropriate  

• Work with colleagues in our Consultancy and Training team to explore opportunities for cross promotion   

 Relationship Management   

• Provide ongoing support to Local Authority clients, acting as a first point of contact    

• Prepare data reports for each Local Authority throughout the year  

• Share insights into local data in engaging, easy to understand ways   

Wider support for the Communications and Marketing team   

• Enable other members of staff to use insights from the Try Dry® app and local user data in their work, evidencing the difference that our Behaviour Change interventions can make to individuals   

• Support the development of a range of content to highlight the benefits of the Try Dry® app, particularly around key campaigns such as Dry January, Alcohol Awareness Week and Sober Spring  

• Particularly during our Dry January campaign period (December – January) provide additional support for the team across a range of roles

• Support the Senior Digital Programme Manager to monitor income and expenditure for the Try Dry Local programme

Who are Women’s Aid?   

Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. We are a federation of over 170 organisations which provide just under 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across England. For almost 50 years we have campaigned on behalf of our members and survivors to shape policy and practice, and to raise awareness of domestic abuse.    

Purpose of the Project Manager role:   

As Project Manager, the successful candidate will play an integral role in working across the organisation to ensure that sound project management principles are being used in all aspects of our work. You will be responsible for delivering cross-cutting, significant and complex programmes and projects that underpin Women’s Aid’s strategy. 

You will support the Head of Strategic Programmes to effectively schedule and monitor the projects, programmes and core business activity across the organisation, in line with our key strategic goals.

Key duties and responsibilities of the Project Manager: 

• Full scale project management of key strategic projects across a project’s full life cycle, to deliver within scope, on time, on budget, and within quality commitments. This includes designing project models, allocating resources, scheduling, monitoring, stakeholder communications, reporting and budget management. 

• Assessing and recommending to the senior leadership team the viability and suitability of new proposed projects. 

• Continually ensuring project specific risks are identified, assessed and mitigated, and escalating to senior managers as appropriate. 

• Supporting the creation, embedding and monitoring of performance and outcome measures relating to project deliverables.

• Monitoring and managing interdependencies between projects across the organisation, and ensuring that projects are delivered in line with Women’s Aid’s strategic objectives. 

• Building professional and functional working relationships with key stakeholders, across all levels, to ensure optimum information flow and understanding of key business areas.

What we are looking for in our Project Manager: 

Essential: 

• Substantial (5+ years) proven experience in project planning and execution, monitoring and reporting, and achievement of objectives. 

• Experience managing large (£50k+) and complex (e.g. cross-cutting multiple teams/functions) budgets. 

• Ability to work at pace and deliver to deadlines, prioritising work depending on organisational need.

• Ability to interpret top-line briefs and turn these into practical action.

• Ability to identify and manage project-based risks and issues, identify key decision points and define options for decision-makers. 

• Ability to work on own initiative to meet objectives in a complex, changing environment 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation and presenting to a wide range of audiences 

• Knowledge of a variety of project management principles and frameworks.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Events Manager to lead on Media Trust’s 2024 calendar of fundraising and industry-facing events, including our upcoming 30th Birthday Fundraising Gala and support with other programme-related events.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable expertise in delivering successful fundraising and other events, working across multiple projects, and finding new and innovative ways to engage corporate supporters in fundraising events and campaigns. 

You will be part of the Volunteering & Events Management team and will manage a range of in person and virtual events, from fundraising events to corporate partner cultivation drinks, industry roundtables and large-scale volunteering initiatives. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to develop and deliver impactful high-quality events and ensure that all our events deliver against set targets.

This role would suit someone with a good understanding and experience of the UK charity sector and a passion for equalities and inclusion. We are looking for a strong candidate to take Media Trust’s event activity and fundraising to the next level to enable us to support more charities and underrepresented talent and engage more media and creative industry professionals in our work. 

Key responsibilities  

Events Management 

• Manage end-to-end delivery of Media Trust events, campaigns and projects of varying size, format and complexity, both in person and virtually

• Lead on the development and running of Media Trust’s 30th Birthday celebratory events, including but not limited to our Fundraising Gala, ensuring the fundraising target is hit or exceeded 

• Support the Programmes team and Media Trust Films team on delivery of events when necessary, including, but not limited to, Charity Challenge Days and Film Screenings 

• Provide a high standard of support to key stakeholders throughout the planning, execution and evaluation of each event 

• Develop and implement consistent processes, procedures and documentation for all events across Media Trust, including event timelines, agendas, speaker and staff briefs 

• Develop fundraising and sponsorship proposals to fund core events across Media Trust  

• Manage event budgets ensuring they are run cost effectively

• Maximise the profitability (where appropriate), sustainability and quality of all events 

• Act as first point of contact for stakeholders including corporate partners, venues, caterers, speakers, attendees, Media Trust staff and Trustees 

• Research and suggest relevant key speakers and work with all Media Trust teams to finalise speakers for events

• Work closely with the Marketing team to develop communications to promote events and drive engagement 

• Monitor KPIs and evaluate the impact of events, providing reports and feedback summaries as required 

• Ensure all Media Trust events and fundraising activities are logged effectively and Media Trust’s CRM is kept up-to-date 

Corporate Partner Activity 

• Liaise with our Corporate Partners and lead on bespoke events organised as part of their partnership with Media Trust

• Work closely with the Partnerships team to develop and deliver volunteer opportunities, recruiting, briefing and training volunteers including presentations and pitches  

• Work with other members of the Volunteering & Events Management team to support with other volunteering activity including development of innovative events and opportunities

Additional Responsibilities  

• Continual research and ideation, monitoring industry trends for new and exciting fundraising and profile-raising opportunities and partnership collaborations

• Provide additional support to the Partnerships team as required

What we are looking for in you 

Essential 

• Experience of end-to-end event management, including the planning of fundraising events, and delivering high-impact results in a professional or charitable organisation

• Experience of organising both online and in person events

• Attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage and prioritise across multiple events, work with multiple teams and meet deadlines 

• Experience of working with Corporate Partners and managing stakeholder relationships at both a strategic and project level 

• Outstanding communication skills and ability to adapt tone and approach for different stakeholders 

• Strong leadership skills to effectively manage external stakeholders and suppliers, paid and unpaid, ensuring high quality of work and events run smoothly

• Experience of data management and CRM systems with ability to support, inform and report on fundraising and other event activity 

• A passion for events and innovative approaches to engaging audiences 

Desirable 

• Experience of creating and developing proposals for event sponsorship and pitching to corporate partners and other stakeholders

• Experience of designing and managing event budgets

• Good understanding of the charity sector, including charity, GDPR and data protection laws 

• Understanding of the media, comms and creative sectors in the UK

About the role  

Smart Works are looking to appoint an exceptional Finance Manager to join our finance team at a time of significant growth for the organisation. Working closely with the existing finance team of four, the Finance Manager will play a crucial role in safeguarding the financial health of Smart Works Charity and its network of eleven centres across the UK. 

The Finance Manager will ensure financial systems and processes are followed, financial tasks are completed before deadlines and key stakeholders receive the financial information they need to make sound decisions. 

An important part of the role is to build excellent working relationships with non-financial employees working across Smart Works, so that information needed by the finance team is obtained in a timely fashion. Duties and responsibilities

• Comply with all financial systems and control processes for Smart Works.
• Support the Director in completing submissions, filings and returns completed in a timely manner. This includes supporting the successful completion of the annual audit and production of statutory accounts.
• Produce monthly income and expenditure reports, balance sheets, management accounts and the production of financial board papers for Smart Works Charity and each local centre.
• Supporting the Director in ensuring all members of staff are paid correctly and on-time.
• Deliver improvements to financial systems to drive efficiencies across the finance function.
• Establish and maintain a strong and productive relationship with local treasurers and other relevant stakeholders, acting as the ‘go to’ for day-to-day financial queries.
• Oversee the timely and accurate transaction processing and reconciliation for income and expenditure for allocated centres, providing hands on and technical support to the Finance Assistant when needed.
• Responsible for ensuring all payments are made and invoices are raised in an accurate and timely manner.
• Investing time in upskilling and developing junior members of the team.

Personal Specification 

Essential Criteria

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA part qualified (or equivalent, e.g. AAT qualified).
• A strong accounting background, with significant experience working within a finance function. 
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Proven ability to produce quality accounts and accurate financial work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Good analytical skills and professional sceptical mindset.
• A strong desire to learn, a willingness to share knowledge and a strong team ethic.
• Enthusiastic, diligent and energetic with a flexible approach in a rapidly changing environment.
• A proven track record of providing exceptional service and establishing and maintaining strong relationships.
• High level of attention to detail; ability to produce reliable, accurate work.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience working in the Not For Profit or Charity Sector.
• Experience using accounting package Xero.
• Knowledge of Partial Exemption VAT.
