Reporting directly to the CFO and serving as a key member of the Extended Leadership Team, you will ensure resources are managed with unwavering accuracy, insight, and stewardship to support vulnerable children worldwide.

You will lead core operations—from transaction processing and monthly accounts to treasury, tax compliance, and statutory reporting. Key Responsibilities

• Financial Control & Reporting: Oversee the production of high-quality monthly management accounts and deliver statutory annual accounts under Charities SORP (FRS 102).
• Modernisation & Innovation: Act as the Finance Systems owner and define a multi-year modernisation roadmap, embedding automation, AI for efficiency, and controls-by-design.
• Strategic Leadership: Lead and develop a diverse team of 12 (5 direct reports), fostering a service-oriented business partnering culture.
• Budgeting & Fund Management: Lead the annual budgeting cycle and oversee the management of cash, remittances, and foreign currency hedges.
• Governance & Risk: Ensure full compliance with UK law and Charity Commission standards, acting as the primary lead for external audit and banking relationships.

About You

You are an outcome-focused leader who balances strategic vision with operational rigour. You possess a continuous-improvement mindset and the ability to influence senior stakeholders with commercially aware recommendations.

Essential Requirements:

• Qualified Accountant: ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with significant post-qualification experience in industry.
• Sector Expertise: Proven experience in a finance management position within the Charity sector, including the management of restricted and unrestricted funds.
• Leadership Track Record: Experience leading multi-function teams with a focus on capability building and performance management.
• Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of internal controls, technical accounting, and large-scale budgeting processes.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to present decision-ready papers to Board committees.
• Occupational Requirement: Given the leadership nature of this role and its responsibility for the spiritual nurturing of staff, there is an occupational requirement for the post holder to have an active Christian faith.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Business Central, Power BI, SAP Concur, Jedox, and Blackline.

Role Purpose

Action Earth offers grants to help urban communities to respond to our nature and climate crises. Funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, these nature grants support volunteers of all ages, backgrounds and abilities in practical outdoor activities in Scotland’s cities, towns and villages.

We are looking for a talented, dynamic, and organised Engagement Manager to join our Action Earh team in a mainly administrative role. The right candidate would be someone who can work flexibly and demonstrate an understanding and total commitment to our organisational values. You will be joining an existing team of one part time Engagement Manager and a long-term volunteer who supports the project.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

· Administration tasks including maintaining effective and accessible records using Microsoft Office, Google Docs, MailChimp and a CRM.

· Ensure monitoring, impact and evaluation information is collected

· To ensure that Action Earth meets it’s agreed targets, reporting format and schedule.

· Updating social media channels.

· Help create newsletters and other promotional materials

Role Purpose

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) provides strategic and operational leadership across all frontline services, accommodation provision, organisational infrastructure, and compliance functions within the charity.

The COO is responsible for ensuring safe, trauma-informed, financially sustainable, and outcomes-focused delivery for individuals experiencing homelessness, poverty, health exclusion, addiction, and crisis.

The role leads operations across the charity’s accommodation portfolio, including winter shelter provision, general needs accommodation, supported accommodation, and intensively supported housing. The COO also oversees the operational platform of the charity’s support programmes, including a community café, community supermarket, crisis drop-in provision, and integrated health clinics.

About the role

The Head of Policy and Humanitarian Affairs manages a small dynamic team based in London, who take the lead, as requested, on the delivery of relevant strategies in the UK and Ireland, the main objectives of which are twofold: (i) to contribute towards enabling ICRC action to protect and assist people affected by armed conflict (AC) and other situations of violence; (ii) to influence the debate and secure improved decision-making on issues relevant to conflict, humanitarian action and international humanitarian law.

  Role Purpose 
 
The Home from Hospital project in Newcastle is funded by the Northeast and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board. Preventing readmissions to hospital is crucial for the NHS. Re-admissions cost the NHS over £2 billion per year, and no-one wants to be in hospital when they can be recovering safely and comfortably at home. The project was developed to help enable older people to thrive back at home, and in the community, while at the same time supporting the NHS.
 
We recruit, train, support and coordinate volunteers, who provide a “little bit of help” to people who may be socially isolated, have health issues, or don’t have many people around them. Volunteers provide social, emotional or practical support, completing short-term tasks. This includes things like helping with shopping, collecting medical prescriptions, in person or telephone check in’s, driving someone to an appointment, helping with paperwork, ensuring the home is safe and secure, and more.

We are looking for a talented, dynamic, and professional Engagement Manager to join our team in Newcastle.The right candidate would be someone with excellent knowledge of “best practice” in Volunteer Management and with experience of supporting older people.

It is essential that the postholder is agile, can work flexibly, is an excellent communicator, and can build strong working relationships with a range of people.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to support young people through engaging health, wellbeing, mentoring, hair and beauty focused activities within a youth setting. You will help create a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment where young people can build confidence, develop skills and access positive support.

The role will involve working directly with young people during evening and weekend sessions, delivering fun and educational activities while helping to build strong, trusted relationships.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering health, wellbeing, mentoring, hair and beauty activities for young people
• Supporting informal education and issue-based youth work sessions
• Planning engaging and inclusive activities that reflect young people’s interests
• Encouraging participation and helping young people build confidence and self-esteem
• Supporting young people on a one-to-one basis where appropriate

About You

We are looking for someone with experience of working with young people in group or one-to-one settings who can bring energy, creativity and positivity to every session.

You will ideally have:

• Experience delivering activities or support sessions for young people
• Level 2 Youth Work qualification or equivalent experience
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential
• Confidence delivering wellbeing, mentoring or creative activities
• An understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends

Experience in hair and beauty, wellbeing or mentoring activities would be highly beneficial.
