We’re looking for a Programme Manager (Income Generation), who will apply project management methodologies to align all fundraising activity with the divisional objective: to bring in the funds that make our work possible.

What does this role do?
As Programme Manager (Income Generation), you will:

• apply standardised project management lifecycles, methodologies and governance to all activity in the Income Generation division, ensuring all work is aligned with strategic objectives,
• support the division to design and deliver projects, covering the full project lifecycle from initial scoping to lessons learned and evaluation,
• report on progress throughout projects, proactively identifying and communicating dependencies, risks and priorities,
• engage with stakeholders across the division to understand their projects and challenges, while working closely with the Portfolio team and other Programme Managers to align projects with wider organisational priorities.

Interviews for this role are provisionally scheduled for 16th and 17th April 2026, and will take place on Teams.

Could this be you?
To be successful in this role, you’ll need experience of delivering complex programmes and business planning, ideally with experience in income generation or fundraising, with an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities projects in this space present. Experience of supporting teams and projects through significant change, preferably supported by a qualification in project management. You’ll be an excellent communicator with strong stakeholder management skills, who works proactively and autonomously, and has experience of managing project budgets. About You

Overview

Against Malaria Foundation (AMF)

AMF profile

Against Malaria Foundation (AMF) was founded in 2004 and is a charity that fights malaria in a highly effective, accountable and transparent way.

We do this by purchasing and distributing multiple millions of long-lasting insecticide-treated nets (LLINs) at a time in nationwide universal coverage campaigns. This is the most cost-effective way of preventing malaria. AMF receives donations from the public and in the last financial year received US$147 million and, in our history, now over US$820 million. AMF is particularly data-focused and monitors and reports on net use and drives and supports innovation to improve the effectiveness of malaria programmes.

AMF is the world’s third largest funder of nets.

AMF has been rated a top charity for all of the last 16 years by independent charity evaluators GiveWell, Giving What We Can and The Life You Can Save who focus on impact and cost-effectiveness.

We are a team of 15 highly motivated individuals with different skills and experience. Each person has an important role to play. All team members work remotely with constant communication between them. While the team is small, the impact is big - our net distributions protect millions of people. Our largest programme is in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where we are funding 52 million nets to protect 94 million people for distribution during 2025 to 2027. We have ongoing multi-million net programmes in other countries including Chad, Guinea, Nigeria, South Sudan, Togo, Uganda and Zambia.

Role Description

Our activities and commitments are steadily increasing, and 2026-2029 is expected to be a very busy period of distributions, with over ~70m nets planned for distribution in 2026 alone. In light of this, AMF is recruiting a Senior Operations Manager to join the operations team and play an important role in ensuring the success of the net distributions. We are looking for someone who has strong interpersonal and intellectual skills who is able to work collaboratively. The ideal candidate will be comfortable taking on significant responsibility by leading on several of AMF’s programmes.

The role will include involvement in all stages of a distribution campaign (pre-agreement, net procurement, post-agreement, during distribution, and post distribution) across two main areas: 

1. Work with National Malaria Control Programmes (NMCPs) and distribution partners

2. Work with AMF’s independent monitoring partners

Further information

The Senior Operations Manager will lead on several of AMF’s programmes. They will work closely with NMCPs and distribution partners, in country partners, AMF independent monitors, cofunding partners, the AMF Operations and Technology teams to ensure the success of AMF distributions. 

More specifically, they will manage the distributions through the following stages

1. Pre agreement

• Establishing the funding gap

• Establishing the net need, malaria burden, insecticide resistance data

• Working with the Ministry of Health to negotiate and put in place an agreement for the programme

2. Net procurement

• Working with AMF’s procurement lead to order nets in time for the distribution

3. Post-agreement

• After signature of the agreement, working with countries and distribution partners to put in place the plans for key elements, in particular

  • Digital data collection

  • 5% verification

  • Net tracking

• Tender for and select an independent partner for distribution monitoring, and work closely with this partner that will be AMF’s eyes and ears in country

4. During the distribution

• Track information coming from all partners

• Analyse with the support of AMF’s analytics team registration and distribution data and take actions if needed

• Account for all AMF nets

5. Post distribution

• Tender for and select an independent partner for post distribution monitoring, and work closely with this partner to carry out surveys at 0, 9, 18 and 27 months post-distribution

• Share results with in-country partners and encourage appropriate actions to be taken

Through these stages, it will be important to maintain strong relationships with the key partners, notably the National Malaria Control Programmes, distribution partners and cofunding partners to ensure that distributions are carried out according to the agreements signed between the Ministry of Health and AMF. 

These relationships will ensure that solutions can be found constructively to issues that arise during implementation of AMF’s programmes.

Aside from the areas above, there will be other work related to AMF Group Operations, dependent on the candidate’s skill set.

Characteristics of the successful candidate

We are looking for someone who has strong interpersonal and intellectual skills, who works collaboratively in a team and relishes responsibility and the opportunity to learn and develop their abilities. The ideal candidate will be motivated to help improve the lives of those affected by the wider impacts of malaria.

In this role, you will support the operational delivery of WCRF International’s grant programmes across both pre-award and post-award activities. You will contribute to the administration of grant calls, respond to applicant queries, process applications, support peer review and Panel meetings, and help maintain and develop our grant management system. You will also track research outputs, maintain grant records and contribute to internal reporting and analysis. 

You will have a relevant scientific background (e.g. nutrition, public health, cancer biology or a related discipline), with experience working in a research or administrative environment (ideally within academia or research management).You will have a strong analytical mindset and be comfortable working with data, systems and tracking processes, and be highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong communication skills and confidence interacting with a range of stakeholders is key as is being proactive, adaptable and able to work as part of a small, collaborative team.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational and analytical skills who enjoys working with data and complex processes. The postholder will gain a unique insight into the full research funding lifecycle, supporting both the pre-award and post-award stages of international grant programmes. The Stories Team contributes to Sue Ryder’s vision of a society that supports everyone through dying and grief. We do this through impactful and emotive storytelling which highlights the impact of the charity’s palliative care and bereavement support services.

Interviewing and sharing the personal stories of the people we care for, our staff, volunteers and supporters is vital to improving understanding of the charity’s work and inspiring people to support us, whether it be through fundraising, volunteering or campaigning.

The Senior Stories Officer plays a vital role in sourcing, interviewing and sharing content and, with support from the Senior Stories Manager, they are responsible for facilitating the use of personal stories across the organisation, for example in the media and across owned channels.

Sourcing personal stories which illustrate both the impact of the work that Sue Ryder does and the diversity of our services. This will include, but is not exclusive to, stories for use in the following marketing activity, fundraising appeals, social media and across integrated campaigns.

About the role:

• Contributing to a pipeline of powerful personal stories enabling Sue Ryder to highlight the impact of our services through the lived experience of those we care for
• Maintaining and nurturing relationships with existing storytellers, enabling Sue Ryder to stay abreast of changes in their personal situations and steward appropriately.
• Leading on the delivery of volunteer and retail stories
• Developing and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships within the Marketing & Communications; Fundraising; Retail and Volunteering Teams
• Representing the Stories Team on project and campaign working groups, advocating for our storytellers and managing delivery of the story-telling element
• Populating and updating the Stories Library on the Brand Hub, a secure and confidential area for the storage of all stories and consent forms
• Providing in-person support for patients and family members during filming/interviews and photo shoots ensuring they feel supported and are treated with empathy and compassion.

About you:
• Strong emotional intelligence, compassion and the ability to work with interviewees in difficult and emotionally-charged situations
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt stories to different audiences and circumstances
• Understanding of the importance of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in storytelling
• A demonstrable connection to Sue Ryder’s vision and values.

Essential Criteria
• Proven experience of story-gathering as a journalist, or as a member of a busy PR or marketing team at a national charity or similar organisation
• Ability to identify and source emotive and impactful stories for different channels
• Demonstrable experience of creating strong written content
• Experience of using Data Asset Management systems and an understanding of GDPR in relation to storytelling

Job Summary for Senior Data Manager

• A senior data leadership role sitting at the heart of the Data & IT function, reporting to the CFO and working in close partnership with the Senior IT Manager — with this role taking lead responsibility for all things data

The Head of Programme Management is a key organisational leadership role and will be part of the CIUK Extended Leadership Team working with other heads of team and the senior leadership team to help run the organisation effectively and deliver the 4-year strategy. CIUK’s restricted income from donors is significant and is CIUK’s largest income stream; as such the Head of PMT has a high level of responsibility for stewardship and effective management of the ongoing programme portfolio. Our largest programmes are complex multi-partner consortia in fragile contexts with budgets of up to £60m. The role-holder also has a crucial role to play in identifying learning from our programmes and sharing these across CARE and the sector.

About you

You will have demonstrated experience working with a range of donors, including the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), with deep knowledge of how the FCDO operates, how they are structured and contract programmes, as well as their current priorities. You will also have experience delivering programmes with corporate partners, and trusts and foundations. You will have the ability to build strong relationships and have demonstrated ability to negotiate complex contracts with donors and influence donor positions. You will have a strong programme management and risk management background that allows you to understand and work across multiple projects and contexts, and manage risk at the portfolio level, dealing effectively with new risks and issues as they emerge.

As a leader of a large team, you will have strong people leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate strategy into action, motivate colleagues and demonstrate to team members how their role links to organisational strategy and objectives. Your leadership style will be aligned with CIUK’s feminist leadership principles and values. You will need to have experience of working in donor-funded organisations, understand cost recovery models, and have experience working to deliver large-scale programming in development and/or humanitarian contexts.  A good understanding of the current debates in the sector on local leadership and a commitment to the principles set out in the pledge for change are essential.

About the role

The Head of Programme Management leads a large team to oversee all of CIUK’s active humanitarian and development projects funded by UK donors. The team leads CIUK’s relationships with Country Offices and Regions and develops close partnerships to help us achieve long-term and effective programming across the humanitarian and development arena. The team also builds strong relationships with institutional donors and works with the Partnerships and Philanthropy team to deliver corporate-funded programmes. The Head of Programme Management is responsible for ensuring strong grant management and donor compliance including programme financial management. The team ensures that CARE provides and is recognised by donors for offering excellent value for money and real impact for its programme participants. The team also leads CIUK’s approach to delivering smart development and humanitarian programmes with an increasing focus on equitable partnership approaches. 

The role covers four main areas of responsibility:

Representation and relationship management

Holding relationships with a set of senior stakeholders including FCDO Senior Responsible Owners, other donor counterparts, CARE Country Directors, Programme Directors and Regional Directors. Negotiating contract terms with donors and troubleshooting delivery issues with country offices. Positioning CARE’s work to external stakeholders, including personally representing CIUK in external forums and with donors.

Organisational and team leadership, strategy and planning:

Set and drive the programme management team’s annual plans and contribution to the organisation’s strategic priorities. Be accountable to delivering on team KPIs and organisational KPIs that link to PMT’s work. Play a key role in the leadership of the Programme and Policy department. Provide strong line management to direct reports and demonstrate a strong personal commitment to CIUK’s equity, diversity and inclusion goals and feminist leadership principles.

Financial and compliance management

Provide close and effective management of multi-million pound budgets. Reforecast accurately throughout the year, identifying and working with country offices to rectify implementation issues. Manage risks and issues at portfolio level, raising high and critical risks for attention by senior leadership and board as necessary. Ensure donor compliance is followed.

Programme quality, monitoring evaluation and learning

Ensure that CIUK closely monitors project implementation, relevance of programme outputs and outcomes and ensures programmes meet relevant technical standards and up to date best practice. Programmes fulfil requirements on programme quality and adhere to do no harm standards, the Core Humanitarian Standard, and ensure that CARE’s safeguarding standards are met throughout the life of the programme. Proactively share knowledge from CIUK’s programmes across the confederation and externally.

Job Summary - Senior Research Officer

We are seeking a confident and organised Senior Research Officer to join our small but ambitious Research Team. This is a hands-on role with real scope to contribute to how we fund and manage research, and to make a genuine difference to a programme that's helping to save lives.
 

The Senior Research Officer will lead the delivery of our grant funding processes from end to end - managing application rounds, overseeing the active portfolio, coordinating our scientific committees, supporting our research events and leading our approach to patient and public involvement in research. Working in a small, specialist team means you'll also have real scope to contribute ideas, help improve how we do things, and play a meaningful part in the development of the research programme beyond the day-to-day.
