We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Deputy Trust Executive to work closely with the Director of The Linbury Trust and the Lead Trust Executive of The Headley Trust, to ensure that grant-making is in keeping with the philanthropic vision, values, and ethos of the Trustees.

The Linbury Trust and The Headley Trust are independent grant making Trusts, part of the operating office of The Sainsbury Family Charitable Trusts (SFCT). Established by members of three generations of the Sainsbury family, the trusts’ support for charitable causes for over 50 years represents one of the leading examples of sustained philanthropy in Britain.

With a wide and varied remit, including Arts, Heritage UK and Health and Social welfare, the key responsibilities will include:

• Providing the Trustees with expert professional advice and well-judged recommendations for grant-making, based on detailed knowledge of their sector and comprehensive research and analysis.

• Assisting in the management of grant making operations including assessing applications, conducting due diligence, and ensuring effective grants administration.

• Reviewing and evaluating the progress of programmes and partnerships, working closely with recipients of grants and programmatic investments to develop their capacity to maximise impact and ensure effectiveness.

• Providing Trustees with research relevant to the Trusts’ mission and priority areas as well as financial and narrative reports, and information on the Trust programmes including grants, investments, and projects.

• Cultivating a network of contacts with experience in working in the Trusts’ priority areas and building partnerships and funder collaborations to improve the effectiveness of grant making in the sector.

About you:

• With experience and understanding of working in areas of activity relevant to the Trusts’ work, you will have demonstrated experience in managing grant programmes with diverse grantees to achieve strategic charitable goals.

• With excellent communication skills, you will be able to present ideas skilfully both in writing and in person and be able to build rapport with Trustees and build strong collaborative working relationships with other funders, expert advisors, NGOs, and grantees.

• You will have strong research skills based on knowledge of the charity sector and be able to successfully plan and manager a substantial administrative workload, with careful attention and be able to effectively prioritise work across both Trusts.

• You will be confident to take initiative and work independently and thrive in working in a complex and diverse environment, but most importantly, you will whole-heartedly support the family’s realisation of its philanthropy and demonstrate commitment to the Trustees’ objectives and grant-making priorities.

The Linbury Trust

The Linbury Trust was established by Lord Sainsbury of Preston Candover KG and his wife Anya, Lady Sainsbury CBE and the former ballerina Anya Linden.

Harris Hill are delighted to be working with a wonderful children charity to recruit for a Community and Corporate Fundraiser to join a small and ambitious team in Wandsworth (South London).

This could be a fantastic opportunity for someone with that experience or someone with all the right skills and approach who wants to develop a career in the charity sector – perhaps from a sales or marketing background.

This role will be part-time (25hrs) or full-time.

As a Community and Corporate Fundraiser you:

will support the Chair of Trustees in ensuring the Charity’s further development and ambitious growth

• will take strategic and operational lead responsibility across (South) London and focused on Tooting/Wandsworth for the Corporate and Community Fundraising of the Charity, (community partnerships/corporate sponsorship) utilising your existing and new contacts, as well as events and challenges, individual donations, supporter engagement, lottery initiative, collecting boxes etc.

• will support our profile and links with current and potential partner organisations and take a key role in growing the profile and reputation of the charity.
• will recruit, manage and support a small but growing team of volunteer fundraisers and local ambassadors

In order to be successful, you must have experienced:

• Ideally, community/corporate fundraising experience in another charity or part of the voluntary sector. Or with the skills outlined above and developed in sales, marketing or other work experience
• Team leadership experience and supporting individual and project performance
• Excellent Communication skills both verbally and in writing and good IT skills
• Able to plan and implement fundraising events and initiatives ensuring supporter buy in and the careful monitoring of costs and income to ensure event profit and viability
•  Good at leveraging support from social media and other marketing and PR initiatives

Salary: £25,000-£30,000 per annum, pro rata

Contract type: Permanent, part-time 25hrs a week or full time hrs considered

The Head of Youth Engagement & Participation is a key senior leadership role at Peer Power Youth. Responsible for leading the youth engagement team (YET) across all aspects of safe and supported youth engagement (individual change) and ensuring youth voices contribute to tangible and meaningful system change (participation/system change).

Our model of youth engagement and participation has been co-created by young people and consists of:

• Personal development/Peer to Professional (life skills/training/work readiness) offer – creating Individual Change

• Youth Voice and Influence projects– creating tangible System Change

• Training, Coaching, and Workshops that are designed and delivered by young partners for professionals in justice, care and health settings. Along with resources to support System Change

Partnerships include NHS (regional and national), Youth Justice Board, Ministry of Justice/Youth Custody Service, HMI Probation, Youth Justice Services, youth and community organisations and secure settings. The Head of Youth Engagement and Participation will directly line manage 4-5 senior staff members but holds the overall responsibility for the Youth Engagement Team.

The Young Partners we engage and connect with, have experience of justice and care/looked after systems. We work across London and Southeast regions, with occasional national events. Our work takes place in the community and in secure settings (examples include -HMYOI Feltham, Oasis Restore Secure School, and Secure Children’s Homes).

Are you passionate about supporting people in acute suicidal crisis? Do you have the courage to take responsibility for the risks in order to save and transform lives?

Do you have a background in mental health, psychotherapy or social work, and experience of working with the suicidal? TPP are recruiting two Directors, on behalf of our client, a charity dedicated to supporting those at immediate risk of suicide, a unique proven model offering a warm and nurturing safe space in a friendly non-medical environment with befriending volunteers.

The Role:

As the Director, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of the charity’s model for those in suicidal crisis ensuring its success and sustainability. In this demanding yet deeply rewarding position, you will be working closely and collaboratively with your fellow Co-Director, sharing 24/7 responsibilities, and report jointly to the Trustees.

Main responsibilities:

• Lead the delivery of the charity’s services and model, being accountable to the Chair of Trustees
• Rebuild and sustain client's culture, ethos and values. - integral to the model
• Manage and supervise and be a hands-on member of a dedicated operational team, together responsible for service delivery 27/7
• Lead/oversee the training, selection, supervision and development of volunteers
• Collaborate with the Secretary to manage service support functions, including IT/systems, house facilities, and media/external relations

Requirements:

• Professional qualification and experience working with those in crisis and/or mental health issues including applying psychoanalytic understanding
• First-hand experience working with and befriending individuals experiencing suicidal ideation
• Strong leadership skills, a team player with a collaborative approach
• Excellent communication skills
• Resilient and resourceful
• Solid management skills
• Compassionate, empathetic, a good listener
• Flexible with working hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call availability
• Basic understanding of corporate governance and fundraising principles
• Established contacts in suicide prevention, NHS, third sector, and funding organisations
• Experience delivering presentations at conferences, engaging with media, and donor relations
• Experience in training and supervising volunteers
