Volunteer Safeguarding Lead

Role Overview
The Volunteer Safeguarding Lead will be responsible for ensuring that Guardian Light Foundation and Guardian Light Enterprises Ltd maintain the highest standards of safeguarding for children and vulnerable individuals. This role is critical in creating a safe, compliant, and supportive environment across all services and activities.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and regularly review safeguarding policies and procedures
Act as the main point of contact for all safeguarding concerns or incidents
Provide guidance and support to staff and volunteers on safeguarding matters
Ensure all team members understand and follow safeguarding protocols
Manage and document safeguarding reports, ensuring appropriate action is taken
Liaise with external agencies (e.g. social services, local authorities) where required
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and best practice
Requirements
Experience in safeguarding, social care, counselling, or a related field
Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and best practices
Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and confidentiality
Good communication and organisational skills
Commitment to the mission and values of GLF and GLE Ltd
Additional Information
An Enhanced DBS check will be required for this role
Training and support will be provided where necessary
This is a voluntary role, but it offers valuable leadership experience and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact

Fundraising Commitment:
Every board member must actively participate in fundraising campaigns, donor outreach, and sponsorship drives.
Each member is required to make a personal monthly donation to the organisation (amount optional but meaningful).
Time Commitment:

This role is really flexible! You could choose to volunteer at one event for a couple of hours or attend multiple fundraising events.
We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection.

We are seeking to appoint three new Trustees to join our Board at an exciting and pivotal time for the charity.

Trustees are expected to attend Board meetings (primarily London-based), undertake training, be willing to participate in committee work if applicable, and contribute approximately 7–10 days annually. Appointments are for an initial three-year term, with potential reappointment for up to six years.

Who are Dance Professionals Fund?
Dance Professionals Fund is an award-winning registered CIO providing financial and wellbeing support to dancers, dance teachers and choreographers. Our dedicated services bring together a range of effective ways of supporting dance professionals, including financial grants, signposting to support services, injury rehabilitation, career upskilling support and access to professional counselling. Dance professionals will receive holistic support from us whatever their situation.
Role Description
We are seeking trustees to join us from January 2027 for an initial term of three years.We are looking for a range of skills and experience, including:
Experience and/or specialism in commercial dance or street dance
A recreational dance teacher and/or owner of a dance school
Background/experience in finance in a senior role or on a charity Board
Experience within a benevolent fund as either as staff or trustee
Background in legal expertise, in a senior role or on a charity Board
Strong communication skills, comprehensive networking experience
