Global Health Access Trust is looking for a Governance & Charity Administration Volunteer to help strengthen the records, policies and administrative foundations of an international charitable organisation working towards registration.

This opportunity would suit someone with governance, legal, charity administration or senior administrative experience who enjoys bringing order, accuracy and follow-through to important organisational work.

A conservation NGO in Indonesia is seeking a volunteer accountant to strengthen donor reporting, financial systems and accounting processes.

The organisation works with fishing communities, women and young people to support community based natural resource management, sustainable livelihoods and biodiversity conservation.

The finance team currently relies heavily on Excel and is planning to move to a more structured accounting platform.

The volunteer will work with the team to review budgeting and donor reporting templates, support the transition from Excel, improve reporting consistency, strengthen financial systems and controls, and provide practical mentoring.

This would suit a collaborative volunteer with experience in donor reporting, Excel, accounting systems and small NGO finance.

Two small community based organisations in Malawi are seeking practical finance support to strengthen day to day financial management, reporting and controls.

Both organisations work across vocational training, youth development and livelihoods support, with small local teams and simple finance systems.

The volunteer will work closely with staff to improve budgeting, cashflow management, financial reporting, record keeping, controls and procedures.

This is a very practical grassroots placement, focused on helping local teams build confidence, consistency and simple sustainable systems.

It would suit a collaborative and adaptable volunteer who is comfortable working hands on with small organisations and providing patient, practical mentoring.

The Alec Dickson Trust is a grant making charity looking to recruit one volunteer to join its Board with expertise in Fundraising. The Trust supports young people who, through volunteering or community service, aim to enhance the lives of others, particularly those most marginalised by society.

1. Assistant facilitation at Young Garrick Youth Theatre sessions in Lichfield OR Burntwood, including helping to set up and clear away spaces, following risk assessments to ensure a safe and welcoming environment

2. Assist with as ‘meet and greet’ for participants, parents/carers, and visitors

3. Support the Youth Theatre Leaders and team with the delivery, administration, communication and positive culture of sessions

4. Assist with gathering and setting out of materials/resources (costumes, props, workshop materials)

5. Providing up to date knowledge of the community programme and acting as a point of call for questions during sessions

6. Support facilitators in providing a safe and welcoming environment and responding to safeguarding concerns in sessions

7. Provide additional help for participants who require extra support.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Attending volunteer training sessions as required

2. Adhering to all Lichfield Garrick Theatre policies & procedures.

3. Contributing to effective Health & Safety management across the organisation.

LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

The successful candidate must be 18+. 

Young Garrick Lichfield sessions run every Sunday in term time from 10am-5.30pm. Young Garrick Burntwood runs every Tuesday in term time from 6.30pm-9pm.

The placement length is flexible, for a minimum of one term and maximum of one academic year (ending July 2027).

The role is ideal for a person looking to gain experience and starting a career in the arts specifically with young people and communities. This could be as a facilitator, practitioner, or administrator/project leader.

There is no experience necessary. Finance Trustee - Treasurer

Goals 4 Girls is a London based charity dedicated to empowering girls and young women through football, mentoring and leadership development.

We work with girls and young women from underserved communities who face barriers to participation in sport, confidence building and personal development. Through structured programmes delivered in schools and communities, we support girls to build resilience, improve wellbeing and develop leadership skills.

Our programmes combine football participation with mentoring, wellbeing support and access to positive role models. By creating safe, female-focused spaces and strong support networks, we help girls develop confidence both on and off the pitch.

As demand for our work grows, Goals 4 Girls is entering an exciting stage of development, expanding our programmes, building partnerships with leading organisations in sport and business, and increasing our national impact.

To support this growth, we are seeking a Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees, helping guide the organisation’s financial sustainability and long-term strategy.

The Role of Treasurer

The Treasurer is a key member of the Board of Trustees, providing oversight of the charity’s financial health and helping ensure strong financial governance.

Working closely with the Chair, CEO and Board, the Treasurer will support strategic decision-making by ensuring that trustees have clear and accurate financial information and that the charity operates with robust financial controls.

The Treasurer plays an important role in helping the Board balance ambition and growth with responsible financial stewardship.

Key Responsibilities

The Treasurer will:

· Oversee the presentation of budgets, management accounts and annual financial statements to the Board.

· Ensure that appropriate financial systems, controls and procedures are in place.

· Monitor the financial health and sustainability of the organisation.

· Support the development and review of financial policies, including reserves and risk management.

· Provide financial insight to support strategic planning and growth.

· Work with the Chair, CEO, leadership team and with the Goals 4 Girls accountant to ensure effective financial planning and reporting.

· Ensure compliance with Charity Commission, SORP reporting and good governance principles

· Oversee preparation of the charity’s annual accounts and liaise with external accountants or auditors.

· Ensure financial risks are identified and appropriately managed.

· Help build financial understanding across the Board by presenting financial information clearly and accessibly.

Skills and Experience

We are seeking a treasurer with strong charity financial expertise who is motivated by the opportunity to support a growing charity making a positive impact in young people’s lives. Please note that only London-based candidates will be considered and this position requires an enhanced DBS check and two professional references.

The ideal candidate will bring:

Essential

·A professional background in charity finance with at least 5 years post-qualification as an accountant, investment or financial management professional 

· Experience of financial oversight, governance or strategic financial planning in the charity sector

· Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills

· The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial audiences

- An understanding of the Charity Commission requirements relating to finance and governance

Desirable 

Experience of supporting organisational growth or scaling programmes 

· Interest in sport, youth development or gender equality

Time Commitment

The Treasurer role is voluntary, with reasonable expenses reimbursed.

Expected commitment:

· Attendance at monthly Board meetings - these are mostly online with the occasional in person Board meeting

· Occasional committee or working group participation where relevant

· Preparation and review of financial information between meetings

The average commitment is approximately 5 –7 hours per month including a one hour monthly Board meeting.

Trustees are appointed for an initial three-year term, with the option of renewal.

About CARAS:

Community Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers (CARAS) is a charity that supports refugees and people seeking asylum who live in south London. We offer a range of individual and group support to improve the holistic wellbeing of people who have a background of forced migration, providing them with tools to build lives filled with value, meaning and purpose in the UK. Our activities for young people currently include: ESOL classes (English for Speakers of Other Languages), study group, youth club, swimming lessons and football.

About Youth Club:

Youth Club is a place for young people aged 14-19 to come and play games, learn new skills, make and strengthen friendships and build a sense of belonging. Regular activities include classic youth club games such as table tennis, pool, foosball, board and card games. We also work in partnership with a range of organisations to run a rich programme of workshops within our youth club. Some of these have included creative visual arts, drama, music and workshops on rights and entitlements of young asylum seekers. We also cook a hot meal from time to time and offer a range of snacks each week. Our casework team are also on-site to support young people with a range of advice and signposting needs, usually by-appointment.

Youth club takes place at Furzedown Youth Centre. Welham Rd, London SW16 6TJ

About the role:

As a Youth Club volunteer, you would be helping young people to feel welcome, join in with activities and be a great role model.

Youth Club takes place every Wednesday at 6.00-8.30pm. We ask for a commitment of at least 2 sessions per month for a minimum of 6 months.

Tasks and responsibilities:

· To attend and contribute to volunteer de-briefs which occur 15 minutes after each session.

· To act as a positive role model and set standards of behaviour when volunteering with young people.

· To encourage and inspire young people to reach their full potential.

· To assist young people to both recognise and celebrate their achievements.

· To challenge young peoples’ negative attitudes and behaviour in an appropriate manner.

· To adhere to CARAS Child Protection procedures, Confidentiality policy, Health & Safety policy, Equal Opportunities policy and all other policies as relevant.

Requirements:

To be 18 years or older;

· To be non-judgemental and able to engage with people from diverse cultural backgrounds;

· To be reliable and punctual;

· Excellent communication skills, especially with people with varying levels of English;

· The ability to volunteer on Wednesday evenings for a minimum of six months;

· Current resident of the UK;

· Able to provide five years’ worth of addresses, and willing to undergo a DBS check;

· Able to attend compulsory volunteer induction training (online) general and safeguarding prior to the start of role

Volunteer induction training currently takes place online once a month on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings from 6pm - 8pm. we offer the same trainings on Tuesday and Wednesday daytimes online between 12noon - 2pm once every 3 months.

Your availability to attend 1 general and 1 safeguarding online training session at these times within 3 months of your application would be a prerequisite of being accepted as a volunteer at CARAS.

Desirable:

· Knowledge of community languages, such as (including Arabic, Tigrinya, Amharic, Pashto, Dari, Farsi, Kurdish, Somali and Spanish).
