But every strong charity needs a strong financial backbone — and that’s where you come in.
We’re searching for a volunteer Finance Director / Treasurer to lead the set‑up of our financial systems, processes, and reporting.
Just a few hours a month — but with the power to shape the integrity, transparency, and long‑term sustainability of our organisation.
What this role is all about
You’ll help us:

Set up our financial systems, controls, and processes from the ground up

Establish good practice in charity finance and governance
-
Act as our lead contact and signatory with the bank
-
Oversee budgeting, cashflow, and financial planning

Ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting

Lead on annual submissions to the Charity Commission

Provide financial insight that supports strategic decision‑making
Your leadership will ensure we launch with confidence, credibility, and strong financial stewardship.

About Talkthru
Talkthru is a specialist counselling charity based in Huddersfield, offering free, confidential support to individuals and families affected by pregnancy loss, baby loss and other birth-related trauma.
Our Board of Trustees oversees Talkthru’s strategic direction, governance, and financial health, ensuring that we remain sustainable, ethical, and effective. This is where you come in.
Role Purpose
As a Trustee, you will share collective responsibility for the governance and strategic leadership of Talkthru. Trustees ensure that the charity fulfils its mission, operates lawfully and ethically, and maintains the trust of clients, donors, and the wider community.
We are particularly keen to welcome a Trustee with a legal background to strengthen the Board’s expertise in governance, compliance, and risk management. This person will help ensure the charity’s operations, policies, and services comply with relevant laws, including charity law, counselling practice standards, safeguarding, and data protection.

Grant Writer Volunteer Support
Role Description
Join HeadGym Foundation as a volunteer and be part of a team striving to improve the health outcomes and well-being of children in Cambodia.
What you’ll do:
- Conduct Research on grant opportunities
- Identify potential funders and grant-making organizations.
- Maintain our pipeline of prospects, applications, and deadlines.
- Drafting compelling grant proposals, concept notes, and supporting materials.
- Support the Executive Director on stewardship of foundation relationships to strengthen long-term partnerships.
Skills we’re looking for:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized, strategic thinker with attention to detail.
- Proactive, learner mindset with a can-do changemaker attitude.
- Previous experience in donor/foundation research, database management, or proposal writing is a plus.
What you’ll gain:
