Position
Durrell is looking to recruit three Trustees with skills in:

The positions will report to the Board Chair.

·Proven track record in developing and delivering a successful communications strategy that supports engagement and fundraising objectives.

Commitment from you
Being a trustee is an official duty as they have joint legal control of the charity and are ultimately responsibly for making sure it’s doing what it was set up to do. The CGD Society is also a registered company in England & Wales, so our trustees are also directors for the purposes of company law.We expect the following of all of our trustees, committing around one hour of time per week:
1.To attend our board meetings, which occur via video conference every two months. 2.To keep in touch via email, through an official email address that we will provide for you, at a minimum of once per week.
Our board meetings occur 6 times a year, usually on a weekday evening, and we provide an agenda with reading material two weeks in advance. We ask all participants to read this material and come prepared with comments and questions. Every input is welcomed, debates are encouraged, and all views matter.
We try to host one meeting per year - our Annual General Meetingor AGM - in-person at a central location, to provide an opportunity for our team to meet face-to-face. We cover all travel expenses for trustees to attend these in-person if they are able to.
We also encourage our trustees to engage with one of our subcommittees, which are smaller groups overseeing specific areas of our work, such as our nursing service or financial governance.This is optional, as we recognise that not all of our trustees can spare the time to participate.

The Army Cadet Charitable Trust UK (ACCT UK) is a 96-year-old national youth charity dedicated to improving the life chances of young people and is the official charity supporting the national youth movement known as the Army Cadet Force (ACF). We help disadvantaged young people access the opportunities and benefits available in the Army Cadet programme and, through doing so, enable them to develop and achieve their own potential. ABOUT THE ROLE
The Finance specialist trustee will be an important member of ACCT UK’s Board. You would be part of our team of trustees overseeing the strategic direction of ACCT UK to ensure that it achieves its charitable objects with the particular role of monitoring its financial management. Our charity is financially secure and stable, nevertheless we are looking for an additional trustee with finance experience to work in partnership with the charity’s Treasurer (Chair of the Finance and General Purposes Committee) in monitoring the work of the Charity’s finance team, thus providing fellow board trustees with financial insight and reassurance. Cambridge Nightline is a confidential and anonymous listening service run by students, for students. Do you have the experience and the drive to create change that aims to improve understanding, diagnosis and support for Endometriosis?
This is an exciting time to join the Endometriosis UK trustee board, as the organisation expands and develops to achieve the changes that are needed to support those affected by the disease and to drive down diagnosis time. With trustees coming to the end of their time on the Board, we are looking for a Treasurer and two further Trustees to build on this momentum to strengthen our organisation and bring about change for those with endometriosis. Endometriosis impacts on the physical and mental health of 10% of women and those assigned female at birth in the UK, from puberty to menopause - although the impact can be felt for life. Yet it’s a disease most people have never heard of, do not understand and the cause is not known. It costs the UK economy around £11 billion every year in healthcare costs, loss of work and treatments and yet it isn’t recognised by most employers. As the UK’s leading charity for all those affected by endometriosis, we’re determined to change this and ensure that everyone gets prompt diagnosis and the best treatment and support.
We’ve big ambitions in our strategy, focused on supporting those with endometriosis, driving down diagnosis times, campaigning for improved treatments and access to services, raising awareness, and leveraging more money into research. We place people with endometriosis at the heart of all we do, and with an average time to get a diagnosis of over 9 years, the cause of the disease unknown and no cure, there is so much more they need and want. If we get our work right, we really can make a difference to the 1.5 million women and those assigned female at birth with endometriosis in the UK – and all those diagnosed in the future.
The pandemic had a major knock-on effect to the treatment and management of endometriosis. Cancelled surgeries and appointments left those with endometriosis unable to access treatments and support or get a diagnosis. We have a big job to do, increasing the support we provide, reaching everyone affected by endometriosis and ensuring they get the support they need. Despite being small we’ve achieved a lot. But there is so much more we want to do.

STAMMA is the leading charity for people who stammer in the UK. We’re a small, award-winning organisation with big ambitions and a brilliant community, keen to create space and respect for people who stammer.
Stammering has historically been the target for humour and used to suggest inadequacy, leaving many who stammer facing daily ignorance, discrimination and disrespect. This can affect job prospects and mental health, and cause depression and social isolation. It can make booking a GP appointment a nightmare, and prevent people from accessing a service altogether, leaving them feeling humiliated, degraded or disbelieved. We’re here to change that.
We’ve a clear strategy for the next five years to achieve real and practical change for people who stammer by highlighting the inadvertent barriers they face within the workplace and as service users. We want to reach more people who stammer and grow our supporter base, but to do that we need to expand our training and advocacy services, whilst underpinning our helpline and family support.
We want to appoint a new Trustee with significant skills and experience within the charity sector to the Board. You’ll need to share our excitement and ambition for change. It isn’t essential that you stammer. This is an unpaid position, but travel expenses can be covered. Trustee terms are for four years, and you will be expected to attend all Board meetings, up to five times a year, usually on a Saturday, either in-person at different locations across England, or online. Role Purpose
This is a senior volunteer leadership role designed to provide strategic and operational resilience across the department.
The Deputy Head works across both the Ethics Team and the Research Reporting Team, ensuring that ethical standards, research integrity and high‑quality reporting are upheld across all departmental activity.
Core Duties

Competency Requirements (Deputy Head)

Role Requirements (Deputy Head)
Given the seniority and responsibility of this volunteer role, the following experience is required:
A PhD is required, along with postdoctoral research experience, or significant academic or practical research experience at an equivalent level, demonstrating advanced expertise in research design, ethics, governance or reporting.
Substantial experience in research ethics, research governance or research leadership, ideally across multiple projects or teams.
Experience in strategic planning, departmental oversight or senior‑level decision‑making, whether in a volunteer, academic or professional context.
A strong track record of ethical decision‑making, particularly in roles where judgement, integrity and risk assessment were central.
Experience with research reporting, research communication or academic publication processes is highly beneficial.
A strong interest in ethical governance, research integrity and maintaining high standards across research projects.
Familiarity with GDPR and responsible data management practices, or willingness to develop this knowledge quickly.
Experience working with volunteers or mixed‑experience teams is advantageous.

About the Charity
Since 2014, Barking Mad Dog Rescue has been rescuing and rehoming hundreds of abandoned dogs and cats from the Castelu area in Constanta, Romania. We have provided veterinary care and second chances to animals in desperate nee, but our work is just beginning.
We are a lean, committed team of passionate volunteers working remotely across the UK, supporting a dedicated team working on the ground in rural Romania, where resources are severely limited and where access to modern infrastructure is precarious. We now need to enhance our resources to help us achieve our aims of transforming animal welfare in Castelu, educating the local community about responsible and compassionate pet ownership, and building sustainable solutions to the stray animal crisis.
Role Overview
As our Fundraising Lead, you will play a vital role to help deliver BMDR’s mission, driving the development and delivery of the charity’s fundraising strategy and all related projects and materials.
Reporting to the Board of Trustees, you will design and help us implement a multi‑channel fundraising strategy that includes regular giving, corporate sponsorships, legacy gifts and other income‑generating programmes.
The ideal candidate is someone who is resourceful, enjoys being creative and working with others to design successful income‑generating campaigns. You will have solid experience in fundraising or marketing within a comparable charitable setting and have strong project‑management skills.
The role will require around 4-6 hours of volunteer time per week. It will be home-based.

Thank you for your interest in becoming the new chair of the NHS Retirement Fellowship. We are halfway through a five-year plan which is transforming the way we operate, how we engage with the NHS and other key stakeholders, and how we support our members currently and in the future. We have already come a long way from where we started and we are now beginning an ambitious plan of doubling our membership and raising awareness so we can continue with our mission of supporting retired and retiring NHS, health and social care staff. We are seeking a dynamic and professional chair with significant senior leadership experience in the NHS (or the broader health and social care sector) and/or extensive experience of governing a charity to work with us to deliver our vision.
Our Board is made up of a variety of professionals from across the NHS and beyond, a number of whom are members of the Fellowship. We work closely with our dynamic senior leadership team, branch officers and volunteers and have fostered an excellent working relationship for the benefit of our members.
The Fellowship has a small executive team of seven part time staff who all work remotely from home.

The NHS Retirement Fellowship began in 1978 when retiring nurse Irene James recognised that for significant numbers of retiring NHS staff, their colleagues and friends had also become their family and that those pivotal connections could be lost. Our role has changed during that near 50 years as the NHS has changed and more latterly with the seismic transformation into a digital world. We now have almost 100 branches from the Highlands of Scotland to the north Devon coast and from Swansea in west Wales across to Norwich in East Anglia. About a third of our members are now national members, often choosing to engage on a more remote, digitally based basis. All our members have access to a portfolio of benefits which we offer, including our flagship travel insurance policy, and we are actively pursuing a partnership which would bring a huge range of benefits and discounts to our members. We also have a special fund to support members at a time of need.
Our branches run semi independently from our main charity with their own committees and bank accounts. Volunteers arrange a variety of activities for their members at local and regional level. National members, who choose not to join a specific branch, can join in with local activities and also have access to an increasing number of online based activities. We also hold an annual conference and AGM where the Board, staff and our members can all come together.
We are increasingly working with the NHS and other stakeholders in partnership to see how we can support employers and retain connections, experience and expertise at local level. We’re helping foundation trusts with governors, hospitals with volunteers and NHS charities with supporters. We’re looking to grow so that we are the voice of the retired NHS and wider health service community and see how our members can offer mentoring, support and guidance to the younger generations of NHS staff.
Our charity is looking to become a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) over the next year.
Our values and mission are unchanged from when Irene James recognised the need to continue to support NHS staff when they retired to enable them to retain links, mutual support and understanding and friendships built over the years in their shared working lives. The NHSRF supports people in retirement to maintain friendships and make new ones, from the NHS, health and social care sectors from a diverse background irrespective of race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation and to support each other through friendship.
Role description and time commitment
Our Chair will lead the Board in developing and delivering our strategy, working closely with, and providing line management and support to, our chief executive. They will also support our chief operating officer in preparation for Board meetings and our head of communications in the planning of our conference and other duties. Our Chair will also be a key representative of the Fellowship in meeting and liaising with key stakeholders.
Our Board meets remotely three times a year and once a year in person. We also have two strategy days a year and our AGM and conference which takes place over a weekend in October. There is also a standing invitation to our Members Council meetings, which are three times a year remotely and once a year in person.
Timeframes
The closing date for applications is noon on Monday 1 June. Shortlisting will take place in the following week with interviews to take place in London on Thursday 2 July.
Term of office
We are looking to appoint for a three-year period initially. This will take us through 2028 when the NHS will mark its 80th anniversary and the NHS Retirement Fellowship will celebrate its 50th birthday.
Our chair role is unpaid, but we will reimburse you for reasonable travel expenses.

AYDA needs help to support the development of young people from all backgrounds, particularly women and girls, through education, training and family programmes.
As a small volunteer-run charity, AYDA does not have the expertise to create an impactful social media presence. This is especially the case with LinkedIn which we believe to be pivotal in identifying and engaging with potential partners across the UK. This would enable our programmes to be rolled out more widely and so gain more traction.
Most urgently we need someone to work directly with the Chair, Lucy Njomo, to create a powerful profile for the charity. LinkedIn does offer support to "not for profit" organisations, but we have neither the knowledge nor the capabilities within the board of trustees to take advantage of this. We are seeking a confident professional who can take on the challenge of projecting AYDA and its critical work much more effectively to like-minded groups who could and should be working with us to tackle VAWG in society.
We also know that networking via LinkedIn will be fundamental in fuelling a separate initiative to build youth education and vocational training centre in Cameroon. Land and official permission have already been acquired so now we need to build the consortium to deliver this critical initiative.
The desired individual should therefore be able to build a powerful profile and the network visibility we need to bring these vital initiatives into the spotlight to attract both funding and delivery partners.
What are we looking for?
The ideal person to help us will be very comfortable in the social media world, particularly the use of LinkedIn to build strong B2B networks and relationships. Ideally they would also have some third sector experience in creating powerful charity profiles. Since this is an unpaid role, it is likely that the individual would have a personal passion for combatting VAWG in all sections of UK society and/or creating youth development opportunities in one of the poorest countries in sub-Saharan Africa.
Understanding of the capabilities of LinkedIn as a platform in general and its support structure for charitable organisations is critical.
What difference will you make?
We accept that we do not have the ability to maximise the potential offered by platforms such as LinkedIn. So, although we welcome advice, we urgently need someone to take on the challenge of turning that into positive actions to empower both the UK VAWG and Cameroon youth development initiatives.
