It’s an exciting time to join Victim Support, as we prepare to begin delivery of the Witness Service from April 2026. We look forward to welcoming current Witness Service staff and volunteers to Victim Support — and we’re also now beginning recruitment for several new roles and to fill vacant positions.  

The Witness Service provides free, independent support to any witness giving evidence in criminal courts in England and Wales — both for the prosecution and the defence.  

Our trained staff and volunteers help people understand what to expect before, during and after a trial, and offer practical and emotional support every step of the way, so witnesses can give their best evidence.   

The Witness Service also supports bereaved family members, and friends and family who are accompanying witnesses in court.   

This is an exceptional opportunity to help us ensure a smooth transition and shape a high-quality, high-impact and trauma-informed service — so every witness feels informed, supported and more confident in court.

• Undertake an enhanced DBS check & be part of the DBS update service.

• Be able to provide two satisfactory references. 

• Have an active email address that you are comfortable using in order to engage with VS communications.

Cancer support charity The Mulberry Centre, is looking for new volunteers with flexible availability to help us set up and run out stall at a variety of fun community fundraising & enagement events, mainly in West London - Hounslow, Richmond & Ealing area. Come and sell rafle tickets, inspire donations, hold a collection bucket, give out leaflets and engage with the public at our own events and at fetes, fairs and stadium days.

Our collection box fundraising volunteers help our volunteer groups raise vital funds by collecting and distributing collection boxes in their local area. Making a difference can mean as little as raising 20p, which is enough to feed one cat in our care for a day, to £150 which is the average cost of a cat in our care.

Time expectation

Use your interest in tech to support independence. Sight Support Worthing (SSW) is looking for Tech Support Volunteers to help blind and partially sighted people get the most from their devices. Whether it’s setting up accessibility features, troubleshooting an app, or installing a smart speaker, your support can make everyday tasks easier and more empowering.

This is a great opportunity to build experience in assistive technology or charity work while making a meaningful difference in the community.

Role: Tech Support Volunteer

Reporting to: Tech Advisors

Hours/Days: To be agreed

Location: Sight Support Worthing, Rowlands Road, and home visits (company vehicle available if required).

Role Description

Tech Support Volunteers provide one-to-one support to clients with their phones, tablets, computers, and other devices. Support may take place during tech drop-in sessions at our centre or via pre-arranged home visits for those unable to travel or using non-portable devices. The hours and time commitments are flexible depending on your availability, but we require volunteers to commit to a minimum of 3 sessions of 1 hour per month.

Full training and equipment are provided, and reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.

What You Will Be Doing

• Giving basic advice and support at tech support drop-in sessions
• Visiting clients at their homes
• Advising on assistive devices, apps, and accessibility features
• Troubleshooting basic issues with devices or connectivity
• Setting up smart speakers and other simple devices

Skills & Qualities

We’re looking for volunteers who are:

• Friendly, patient, and enthusiastic
• Flexible and willing to adapt to individual needs
• Confident communicating in ways tailored to each client

Technical Skills

• Good general knowledge of phones, tablets, or computers
• Willingness to learn new apps and devices
• Interest in accessibility and inclusive technology

Desirable (not essential):

• Experience working with people with a visual impairment or sensory impairment
• Personal or professional experience with assistive technology

Volunteer Ice Cream Bike Operator

About The Role

We’re looking for positive minded individuals who can bring joy and some theatre to Ice Cream sales whilst on the move on our electric trike at Martin Mere Wetland Centre.

Become the face (and wheels!) of Martin Mere Wetland Centre – a mobile, bike‑powered ice‑cream experience that pops up where the crowds are. You’ll steer one of our fully‑equipped electric bikes, to delight customers with ice cold refreshments and Ice-Creams. Use your entrepreneurial flair to maximise daily sales. Expect plenty of sunshine, spontaneous dance‑offs with kids, and the buzz of being on the move. 

Volunteers are an essential part of the WWT team. You’ll get a warm welcome, including information on training, equipment and anything else you need.

About You

Skills & Experience:

• Customer-facing experience: Previous experience in retail, hospitality, or customer service is highly beneficial.

• Numeracy and basic tech skills: Comfortable with handling cash, using card readers, and potentially using POS apps.

Volunteer Drivers 

Enthusiastic, hands-on volunteers needed to help provide food to the community. Bounds Green Food Bank is fortunate in receiving food and other donations from local supermarkets, businesses and individuals. We are grateful to our team of volunteer drivers who both collect and deliver on the food bank’s behalf each week. 

Hours: At any time during the week - this is a very flexible role and there is no minimum time commitment, can choose deliveries to suit your own schedule.

• Each week a timetable showing scheduled food donations by local stores and businesses is posted on the volunteer drivers’ WhatsApp group

• Drivers indicate to the group that they are able to make a particular collection, adding their name to the schedule (this is editable by all chat members)

• Once collected, the donation will need to be delivered either to the hall or to a nearby storage facility according to instructions

• The food bank also makes up parcels for guests unable to access the hall in person. Drivers collect from the hall and deliver  to guests, all of whom live within the surrounding area
