Empowering Young Women to Lead Change

TuWezeshe is a transformative, year-long fellowship for Black, African and minoritised women aged 18–30. Build your voice, your network, and your power to end gender-based violence.

A Fellowship Rooted in Feminist Solidarity

TuWezeshe Akina Dada is a year-long, OCN-accredited leadership programme designed to equip young Black, African and minoritised women with the skills, confidence, and networks to drive real social change.

Rooted in survivor-led, anti-racist, and community-driven principles, the fellowship nurtures bold, politically conscious leaders ready to challenge inequalities across the UK, Africa, and Europe. Led by FORWARD and Home Girls Unite, TuWezeshe is a unique bridge for collective feminist advocacy against Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG).

A collaborative initiative involving FORWARD, Home Girls Unite, and a strategic network of partners across the UK, Africa, and Europe.

Everything You Need to Lead

As a fellow, you receive structured support, real funding, and a sisterhood that stays with you long after the programme ends.

Leadership Training: 

• 10 weeks of comprehensive training, including a fully funded residential weekend, Built around feminist leadership principles and practical advocacy skills. 

Dedicated Mentorship: 

• Paired with a dedicated mentor who understands your lived experience and supports you throughout your fellowship journey and beyond. 

Social Action Grant: 

• Receive £250 to fund your own social action project tackling gender inequality. Additional fundraising support is available for larger projects. 

Policy Influence: 

• A platform to influence national and international policy. Fellows gain access to spaces where their voices shape the systems that affect their communities. 

Pan-African Network: 

• Join a cross-continental sisterhood of advocates united in feminist solidarity–connections that span the UK, Europe, and across Africa. 

OCN Accreditation: 

• Earn a formally accredited qualification from the Open College Network, recognising your leadership development and skills. 

How the Fellowship Works

A full year of learning, action, and community–here's everything you need to know before you apply.

Commitment & Structure 

• Duration: 1-year programme

• Training: 10 weeks, including a residential weekend and in-person final session

• Residential: 24–26 July 2026 (fully funded, in London)

• Online training: September – December 2026 (dates TBC)

• Social action project: Implementation until September 2027

Financial Support

• Social action grant: £250 per fellow to fund your project

• Fundraising support: Fellows are supported to raise additional funds if their project requires more

• Refundable deposit: £70, returned on completion of the residential

Your Role: Head of SUNSHINE Services

This is a rare opportunity to build a charity’s services from scratch — to design programmes that genuinely change lives and bring people back into community.

You will lead the creation, delivery and development of our pilot programmes, including:

• Digital Inclusion & Skills (6‑week programme) — helping people reconnect with the world through confidence, technology and support

• Wellbeing Wednesdays (12‑week programme) — a warm, uplifting space for emotional wellbeing, connection and growth

• Monthly Coffee Mornings — simple, joyful gatherings that remind people they matter

You’ll work in co‑production with the people we serve — listening, learning, and shaping new services based on real needs, real voices, and real lives.

• Design, launch and oversee all SUNSHINE services and programmes

• Manage and support Programme Coordinators delivering each pilot

Role Summary
To bring our vision to life, you will play a key role in shaping how Roots Academy’s message is delivered visually. As a Video Editor, you will be responsible for editing high-quality, engaging video content that supports our educational programs, strengthens our online presence, and helps our content resonate deeply with audiences across social platforms.

Key tasks

• Edit short-form and long-form video content for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other digital channels.
• Apply consistent pacing, subtitles, branding, and visual style in line with Roots Academy guidelines.
• Collaborate closely with content leads, instructors, and the marketing team to deliver videos aligned with campaign goals.
• Manage feedback, revisions, and version control efficiently.
• Organise and maintain video assets and project files in shared drives.

What we’re looking for

• Passion for Islamic education and contributing to the development of young Muslims.
• Strong video editing skills using tools such as Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent.
• An eye for storytelling, pacing, and visual clarity — especially for short-form social content.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple edits at once.
• Clear communication and openness to feedback.

About CARAS: 

Community Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers (CARAS) is a registered charity that has been supporting refugees and asylum-seekers since 2002 empowering them to integrate and engage in the local community. 

Arriving as an asylum seeker/refugee can be a disempowering experience. Difficulties with language, accessing services and overcoming prejudice are ever-present. As an organisation we are committed to work alongside refugees to overcome those challenges, and to help them build their lives. 

We offer group support and targeted support work. We offer a range of activities including: ESOL classes; social and recreational activities such as youth club, drama, trips, and family activities; educational support for young people; and casework and advocacy support.

Youth Club is a place for young people aged 14-19 to come and play games, learn new skills, make and strengthen friendships and build a sense of belonging. Regular activities include classic youth club games such as table tennis, pool, foosball, board and card games.

About the Role:

CARAS is looking for volunteer Football Assistants to support our Football sessions on Mondays, 5.30-7pm in Balham.

Football coaching sessions are led by Fulham FC Kicks programme weekly, supported by CARAS volunteers to offer welcome to young people.

Volunteer tasks and responsibilities

· Welcoming young people to the session;

· Helping young people to register for sessions;

· Join in and be role model for young refugees and asylum seekers;

· Assisting participants to recognise and celebrate their achievements;

· Following FULHAM FC safeguarding policy and CARAS’ confidentiality, safeguarding, health & safety, equal opportunities, data management, online communications and all other policies as relevant.

Requirements:

Essential

· To be 18 years or older;

· To be non-judgemental and able to engage with people from diverse cultural backgrounds;

· To be reliable and punctual;

· Excellent communication skills, especially with people with varying levels of English;

· The ability to volunteer on Monday evenings for a minimum of four months;

· Currently resident in the UK;

- A love of football, and wanting to encourage others to play.

· Able to provide five years’ worth of addresses, and willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check (residency is not necessary if you are a Caras community member who is more recently arrived in the UK);

· Able to attend compulsory volunteer induction training (online) general and safeguarding prior to start of role

Desirable

· Knowledge of community languages, such as (including Arabic, Tigrinya, Amharic, Pashto, Dari, Farsi, Kurdish, Somali and Spanish).

Aphasia is a communication disability, usually caused by a stroke or brain injury, that affects a person's ability to speak, read, write, and understand language.

The Say Aphasia Bromsgrove Group provides a safe, welcoming, and relaxed environment where people with aphasia can meet others, practise their communication skills, rebuild confidence, and reduce the isolation that can often accompany aphasia. It is a vital lifeline for our members.

What We Need from You

We are seeking reliable and friendly individuals who are:

• Excellent Listeners: Patient, supportive, and keen to facilitate communication with individuals who have aphasia.
• Sociable and Enthusiastic: Ready to engage with group members and help foster a positive atmosphere.
• Committed: Able to commit to attending the group sessions regularly (1st and 3rd Friday mornings).
• No prior experience with aphasia is necessary—full training and ongoing support will be provided by Say Aphasia!

About borGO

borGO is an experiential tourism initiative based in Abruzzo, Italy, dedicated to promoting authentic, sustainable, and community-driven travel. Through its digital platform and curated experiences, borGO connects international travellers with historic villages, artisans, local food traditions, nature, and cultural experiences. Our mission is to support rural communities while introducing a global audience to one of Italy’s most authentic and undiscovered regions. To build this ecosystem, we collaborate with a growing network of local providers, including guides, farmers, artisans, hospitality operators, and cultural organisations.

Role Summary

As Operations Manager – Local Partner Network, you will play a key role in helping borGO organize and structure its growing database of local partners and experiences. Your main responsibility will be to organize, structure, and manage information about local providers, ensuring that all data is clear, accessible, and easy to use for building experiences and partnerships. This role is ideal for someone who loves structure, enjoys organizing complex information, and is motivated by improving systems and workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize and manage borGO’s database of local partners and providers
• Structure information about experiences, services, contacts, and locations
• Build and maintain clear data structures and internal documentation
• Improve the organization of operational workflows
• Use tools such as Google Workspace and ClickUp to manage and structure data
• Ensure information is complete, consistent, and easy to navigate
• Support the team in preparing experience packages and partner profiles
• Identify ways to improve processes and operational efficiency
• Help create simple internal systems and guidelines for managing partner data

Requirements

• Strong organizational and structuring skills
• Comfortable working with data, spreadsheets, and digital tools
• Experience with Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Drive)
• Familiarity with ClickUp or similar project management tools is a plus
• Detail-oriented and comfortable working with large amounts of information
• Proactive mindset and interest in improving systems and processes
• Interest in tourism, culture, or regional development
• Good communication skills in English
• Italian language skills are a strong advantage (for working with local partners)

About the role: 

As a College Governor, you’ll play a vital non-executive role in ensuring our colleges continue to deliver excellent, inclusive education. You’ll help set the strategic direction, monitor performance, and provide independent oversight and support to senior leaders.

Key responsibilities: 

• Help guide the college’s long-term vision, mission, and strategic goals.
• Monitor progress against key priorities and quality improvement plans.
• Hold leaders to account for performance and outcomes that meet the needs of learners.
• Ensure the college complies with statutory and safeguarding duties.

We want you to help us to connect families across Scotland by managing a special closed Community Network Facebook group and a Padlet of groups and events with the support of Adoption UK Staff and current Community Network volunteers. As a Virtual Community Network Volunteer (VCNV), you would be responsible for administering a closed Facebook group for families with adopted children and young people. The purpose of the group is to share Adoption UK Scotland groups and events but also to share activities aimed at adoptive families or care experienced children in one place.

The purpose of the group is to share Adoption UK Scotland groups and events but also to share activities aimed at adoptive families or care experienced children in one place. It would also allow parents to post in the group to find families local to them that they can connect with outside Adoption UK Scotland activities. As VCNV you would be responsible for moderating the chat and posts within the group, creating and managing a Padlet that contains groups or events that local authorities or other 3rd sector organisations are hosting.

• Confidence to work independently and the ability to recognise when to ask for support or raise concerns if required
