Haven Products is a long-established social enterprise and registered charity with a clear mission: investing in people and changing perspectives.

For over 70 years, Haven has been committed to providing sustainable employment and development opportunities for disabled and disadvantaged individuals. Today, the organisation employs over 100 people across sites in Clydebank and Larbert, with more than 80% of its exceptional workforce living with a disability.

Operating at the intersection of social impact and commercial delivery, Haven provides textile manufacturing, contract packaging solutions, and document scanning services. As a supplier on the Scottish Government Supported Business Framework, Haven partners with both public and private sector organisations across Scotland.

About the Role of Non-Executive Director 

Haven is looking to appoint one or more Scotland-based Non-Executive Directors to join its Board at an important stage in the organisation’s development. This is an opportunity to contribute to the delivery of Haven’s three-year business plan, supported by the Scottish Government, which aims to return the organisation to a sustainable, profit-generating position while remaining true to its charitable mission.

As a Non-Executive Director, you will work with fellow Board members to provide effective governance, oversight, and stability, ensuring Haven operates in line with its values and long-term objectives. You will bring independent perspective, constructive challenge, and strategic insight to support the Executive team through a period of change and growth.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to Haven’s strategic direction, offering insight and oversight on planning and implementation
• Support business development and diversification through networking and stakeholder engagement
• Identify and facilitate strategic partnerships, including supporting transition from Rehab Group
• Provide governance and policy oversight, ensuring robust and effective decision-making
• Offer constructive challenge and guidance to the Executive team
• Attend Board meetings, alongside occasional events, training sessions, and seminars

We are particularly interested in individuals with senior-level experience who can contribute to organisational recovery, growth, and long-term sustainability. At least one appointment will bring strong commercial or business development experience. Candidates may come from backgrounds such as manufacturing or operational leadership, business turnaround or organisational restructuring, or roles focused on sales, marketing, or income diversification. Experience within social enterprise, the charity sector, or working with disability-focused organisations would also be valuable.

Local business connections and networks within Scotland would be advantageous.

Beyond experience, we are looking for individuals who bring integrity, sound judgement, and the confidence to both support and challenge constructively. Strong communication and relationship-building skills, along with a proactive mindset, are important. You should be comfortable navigating complexity, contributing to collective decision-making, and maintaining a focus on both mission and commercial sustainability.

Time Commitment

There will be a minimum of four half-day Board meetings per year, with an expectation to attend an additional four to five meetings annually as required. Meetings are typically held at Haven Products’ Larbert site (FK5 4RU), with some held remotely or at other locations across Scotland. Travel expenses will be reimbursed.

Production Assistant

We are a Kingston-based social marketing enterprise using creative thinking to build community cohesion.We aim to attract knowledgeable individuals encouraging different cultures to unite which enables us to share and celebrate essential lessons. Partnering with local organisations, we put on programmes of training, workshops and other events that promote unity and tolerance. We conduct research to support our cause to challenge preconceptions around race and stereotyping. You will be involved in tasks ranging from script writing to stage setting, ensuring that all necessary preparations are in place for successful video production.
 

Main Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Video Production Manager to develop and refine scripts for various video projects, conducting research to gather relevant information and insights to inform script content and invite guests when necessary.

• Assist in planning and setting up stages for video shoots, including arranging props, lighting, and other necessary equipment, and coordinate with the production team to ensure all stage elements are in place.

• Work with the Video Production Manager to create detailed production schedules and timelines, and coordinate with cast, crew, and other stakeholders to ensure everyone is informed of shoot dates and times.

• Assist in identifying and securing suitable locations for video shoots, conducting site visits to assess the suitability of locations and addressing any logistical considerations.

• Organize and manage all production materials and resources, including scripts, shot lists, and production notes, ensuring all necessary permits and permissions are obtained for filming locations.

• Act as a point of contact between the pre/production team and other departments, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration, and provide regular updates to the Video Production Manager on the progress of pr/production tasks.

• Working knowledge of file codecs and wrappers

• Digital Asset Management (Utilising enterprise versions of Google Drive etc)

This is not a commercial copywriting role.

It is a truth-led storytelling role.

Our C.I.C. exists to confront and expose the realities of childhood sexual abuse (CSA), centre survivor truth and accountability, support young people into economic empowerment, and build community-owned, open-source systems that serve people rather than capital.

About the Role

As our Founding Creative Copywriter / Campaign Storyteller, you will craft clear, compelling, and ethically grounded written content to support digital campaigns, fundraising initiatives, and community engagement during our build and early growth phase.

You will not inherit a finished brand voice or messaging system.

You will help shape and define it.

Your work will translate complex and sensitive issues into accessible, responsible communication. You will help move people toward meaningful action — not passive consumption — while ensuring that every piece of content reflects safeguarding commitments and cultural integrity.

This role blends creativity with strategic thinking. You must be comfortable writing across multiple formats, collaborating with campaign teams, and refining messaging based on feedback and insight.

The Fundraising Lead for Roots Academy Canada will be responsible for developing and executing fundraising strategies to support the expansion of Roots Academy’s programs.

This role is critical in ensuring that Roots Academy has the financial resources needed to deliver high-quality Islamic education to communities around the world.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about the mission of Roots Academy, skilled in engaging donors and securing funding through various channels, and able to build lasting relationships with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Community Engagement:

• Develop and implement a dynamic fundraising plan that includes a variety of strategies tailored to Roots Academy’s target audiences, including university MSAs, mosques, and Islamic organisations.

• Identify and build partnerships with key community organisations, MSAs, and Islamic centres to create collaborative fundraising opportunities.

• Stay adaptable to emerging opportunities for funding, leveraging both traditional and innovative approaches to engage and attract potential donors.

Relationship Building:

• Actively engage with MSAs, Islamic centres, and community organisations to establish Roots Academy as a cause worth supporting and to cultivate long-term donor relationships.

• Collaborate with MSAs and community partners to organise local fundraising events, campaigns, and other initiatives that resonate with the community.

• Serve as a liaison between Roots Academy and these partner organisations to foster a spirit of collaboration and mutual support.

• Work closely with MSAs and community organisations to retain donors by creating meaningful engagement opportunities and maintaining a sense of involvement with Roots Academy’s mission.

Campaign Management:

• Lead and coordinate diverse fundraising campaigns, including online initiatives, MSA-driven campaigns, and in-person events like benefit dinners and community gatherings.

• Work with Roots Academy’s marketing team to create campaign materials and digital content, ensuring that each initiative is tailored to engage and inspire potential donors.

• Coordinate and oversee logistics for events, ensuring a smooth and impactful experience for all participants and maximising fundraising outcomes.

Tracking and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of fundraising activities, donor interactions, and campaign outcomes to ensure transparency and accountability.

• Provide regular reports to the leadership team on fundraising efforts, adapting strategies as needed based on campaign performance and community feedback.

• Use data to evaluate the effectiveness of different fundraising approaches, enabling continuous improvement in future efforts.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Fundraising Experience: Proven experience in developing and executing successful fundraising strategies, particularly for nonprofit organisations, educational initiatives, or Islamic institutions.

• Community-Oriented: A deep understanding of the Muslim community in Canada, especially in relation to university students and local mosques.

• Relationship Building: Proven experience in building and maintaining meaningful relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.

• Project Management: Strong organisational skills with the ability to support program delivery efficiently.

• Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences, from students to community leaders.
