Ealing Carers Partnership offers support services to unpaid family carers aged 18+, living or caring for someone living in the London Borough of Ealing. We work together - and with others - to provide support services and breaks for carers. Our current services include: respite (replacement) care in the home; care worker support to access community groups or services; Carer Cafes in four locations across Ealing; a developing range of wellbeing activities, and; events and social opportunities. We are seeking volunteers to work alongside the team to support our work.

Main purpose of the role

The Carers Community Champions role is to support us in promoting Ealing Carers Partnership’s services by raising awareness of what we offer. We might ask for you to put up leaflets in your neighbourhood and, from time to time, to staff a stall in a community setting.

General responsibilities 

In order to promote Ealing Carers Partnership’s services and events, we expect that you would be asked to:

• Hand out leaflets or post fliers in supermarkets, doctors’ surgeries, libraries, leisure centres and other community venues with high footfall in your immediate neighbourhood

• Help with setting up of events and staffing stalls 

• Help to pack up after the events 

• Supporting staff at the Carers Cafés and making light refreshments

• Sharing your caring experiences with others if you are a former carer, or just listening to those that need to talk

• Accompanying carers on trips out

• Working with the team to find new ways of publicising services and providing insights about your neighbourhood. 

Skills, experience and personal attributes

Whilst we are happy to provide training as needed, we hope that you will be able to demonstrate:

• A positive attitude towards vulnerable clients who may have a variety of complex needs and those who are caring for them 

• The desire to gain local knowledge about services or a willingness to find out what is available to support local carers 

• A minimum availability of 2/3 hours per week

• Being comfortable in terms of talking to people in groups 

• A knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, although full training will be given. 

Training and support

We will try to offer a good range of training and support to all volunteers but, as a minimum, you can expect to:

• Attend starter training sessions, an induction to the programme and staff

• Undertake a DBS check

• Attend Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Confidentiality and Customer Care training

• Attend appropriate team meetings/ briefings so you are up to date on what we are delivering 

• Attend 6-8 weekly checks-ins for support for you and to see how you are doing within your role. 

Expenses

Out of pocket and travel expenses will be reimbursed as agreed upon commencement.

For this role volunteers MUST be aged 18 or over.

We are looking for volunteers who can offer time, conversation and companionship to older clients in and around Central London.

You can support someone by:

· Spending time with them in person

· Speaking with them regularly by phone

Your time and kindness can help older people feel more connected, happier and less alone.

What You’ll Do

You could be visiting someone at home or accompanying them in their community, chatting in coffee shops or talking while you walk. What you do will depend on what the client would like. Our clients are older Scots aged 60 plus who simply want to enjoy activities many of us take for granted.

As one of our volunteers once said, “this is an easy, very meaningful way to help someone and is immensely rewarding and fun!”  

Current Locations

Our current waiting list has clients in Stockwell, Hackney, Putney and Stepney Green. Locations will change as more referrals are made. If you want to make a difference to an older person’s wellbeing, please contact us — we may have a client in your area.

Time Commitment

Meetings are weekly or fortnightly for at least six months, although most volunteers stay involved for longer because they enjoy what they do. Phone calls are weekly and can be made from any quiet space at home or at work.

Who This Role Is For

This could be an ideal opportunity to gain practical experience of working with adults in a health and social care setting. It may also suit anyone who enjoys meeting new people and making their lives a little brighter.

Fixtures Coordinator

You are the key liaison between clubs, match officials, and venues for south London football club.

Wanderers FC are seeking a volunteer to help coordinate our fixtures throughout the season (September - May).

This role entails;
- Being the main point of contact for match details for the club
- AWAY GAMES; Proactively seeking information from the opposition team(s), Sharing the kick-off time and venue location with Wanderers players & coaches.
- HOME GAMES; Liaising with our home venue in Dulwich to reserve a pitch, Contacting the league appointed match official(s), Contacting the opposition team(s), Sharing information with stakeholders.

This role can be performed remotely but candidates closer to the club's home venue are preferred (Dulwich, Lambeth, South London)

The time required per week is around an hour combined, made up of emails or phone calls.
In addition, the role is required to participate in Club Committee meetings, which take place 4-5 times per year and are roughly 1-2 hours per meeting.

Description

This group offers blind and partially sighted people living with Retinal Detachment the opportunity to socialise with one another on a regular basis. Could you be the right person to facilitate the group? Do you have personal or professional experience of Retinal Detachment? If you’re also a good listener, able to manage group conversations and make people feel comfortable in a social group environment, we're keen to hear from you.

This is a telephone-based role that you can do from home. You will need access to a landline and/or mobile phone. We ask you to commit to 1-2 hours per week to facilitate one group session, which will take place at the same day and time each week.

You will be the link between the group participants and the RNIB Talk and Support team and will:

• Listen to the group conversation, ensure it flows and that all conversations are appropriate;
• Make appropriate contributions as and when required to stimulate conversation;
• Create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere thus encouraging all participants to feel comfortable taking part;
• Report any Safeguarding concerns or data breaches to the Talk & Support staff team.

About the Role

The Family Mediation Department at Talk, Listen, Change (TLC) is growing nationally to ensure separated parents can access publicly funded mediation. Our volunteers play a vital role in making sure families get the help they need — at one of the most challenging times in their lives.

We're looking for committed and compassionate volunteers to support the legal aid application process at our Manchester Head Office. This role is ideal for someone who wants to make a meaningful difference and develop valuable administrative skills.

Volunteer Responsibilities

• Contact clients to explain what income evidence is required for legal aid
• Sending clear guidance to clients on what documentation is required
• Check submitted documents for completeness and accuracy
• Provide support and clarification if documents are missing or incorrect
• Upload documents to our CMS
• Forward documents to the Head of Department for review
• Liaising with admin team to move cases forward for Mediation Information Assessment Meetings (MIAMs)

What We’re Looking For

• Good communication skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable using email and basic computer systems
• Empathy, professionalism, and a commitment to confidentiality
• Willingness to commit to 6 months minimum

Stores & Equipment Manager

Challenge Adventure Group (“CAG” for short and the operating name of CAG Trust) is a voluntary youth organisation for Knowle, Dorridge and beyond aimed at boys aged 10 and above.

As our name suggests, we provide challenging, adventurous and fun activities and the D of E Award for young people in their leisure time. Taking part in fun experiential activities enables members to develop their physical and mental skills and capacities and reach their full potential of becoming positive, active and happy citizens.

Summary

CAG was formed in 2009 and became a charity, CAG Trust, in 2019.  You will be in charge of CAG’s kit which is kept at various locations, most of which is at the base in Bickenhill.  You will be responsible for advising,  sourcing, acquisition and logging of new kit and supplies and will ensure that it is in an excellent condition to be used for our trips and activities. A key responsibility of the Stores & Equipment Manager is to keep track of all inventory: signing it out for trips / activities and then back in when it is returned.  You will also determine how quickly supplies are being used, and when they may need to be replenished. You will also be responsible for ensuring the kit is repaired and is continually available for use. It is up to the quartermaster to understand what the situation may be and know when inventory is likely to be depleted based on any particular set of circumstances. 

Description

Responsibilities:

• Carry out an annual audit of the kit and liaise with the Treasurer and Secretary to ensure that the insurance is up to date.

• Research and advise the committee and leaders on options for new kit / kit replacement.

• Plan the replacement of old kit acquisition of new kit.

• Keep the storeroom secured, organised and in good order by ensuring everything is in the right place.

• Log out any items and keep track of who has them and where.

• Log in any items after they have been used and check them over for damage / wear and tear.

• Buy supplies to mend any broken items.

• Replace any items that are beyond repair.

• Ensure members / leaders to return kit once they have finished with it and it is returned in good order.

• Ensure that any lost / damaged kit is invoiced out to the member / leader.

• Coordinate kit availability with trip plans and funding / grants.

• Visit offsite venues to check kit stored elsewhere.

• Communicate frequently with the Group Leader and CAG Management Committee to keep them up to date.

We are looking for a volunteer who ideally should have / be:

• Commitment to CAG and its ethos.

• Organised and tidy.

• Self-motivated, proactive and good at managing your own time.

• The ability to build and maintain relationships. 

• Drive and enthusiasm to carry out projects to conclusion.

Our fundraising team leaders support their team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported.

You can expect us to

• provide you with access to learning, development and engagement opportunities

 What we need from you

You’ll be:

· supporting and encouraging a team of fundraising volunteers

· planning fundraising events and activities with your team

· allocating tasks before and during fundraising events

· keeping financial records from fundraising events

· encouraging and promoting a professional image of Cats Protection 

· following policies and guidelines and ensuring licences and permits are obtained for events
