We are looking for confident, capable volunteers to support our busy charity shop. If you enjoy meeting people, keeping busy, and being part of a welcoming team, this could be a great opportunity for you.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll help support the day-to-day running of the shop and create a positive experience for customers.

Tasks may include:

• Serving customers and operating the till
• Greeting and assisting shoppers
• Working independently on the shop floor
• Pricing and preparing donated clothes, toys and books for sale
• Replenishing stock and creating attractive displays
• Helping keep the shop tidy, organised and welcoming

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is friendly, reliable and confident working with the public
• Can work independently and use initiative
• Enjoys a practical, hands-on role
• Has good communication skills
• Has retail experience (a bonus, but not essential)
• Wants to support a local charity and be part of a team

Time commitment

• Shifts are usually 10am–1pm or 1pm–4pm
• Regular weekly volunteering preferred, but we can be flexible

The online marketplace is a fantastic way to support our fundraising efforts and boost vital donations for the Hospice. When selling items online, we take the time to research each item, snap some great photos, set fair prices, and list them on the right platforms. If you enjoy online shopping, have a good eye for detail and a flair for photography, then this could be the perfect role for you!

Ideally, you will commit to a 4 hour shift between 10am and 2pm on either Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and/or Fridays.

You’ll be comfortable using online marketplace platforms (especially Ebay), confident writing product descriptions, and taking photos with the provided smartphone on a white background. By volunteering as an E-commerce Assistant Volunteer, you’ll not only gain new skills, knowledge, and social networks, you’ll be making a difference in your local community.

Are you passionate about gardens and community engagement? We’re looking for an enthusiastic Assistant County Organiser to support activities in Greenwich, Blackheath and surrounding areas. The role is to support the County Organiser in managing the volunteer County Team and work as part of the team. Support the Garden Owners of the National Garden Scheme who open gardens for charity. 

Reports to: County Organiser.

Location:  Home based but with travel to gardens and other events/meetings.

Core activities:

 Manage garden openings, proceeds, insurance and Health and Safety.

 Identify and secure new gardens and ensure that existing gardens continue to reach the required standard.

 Implement new policies as agreed by the Board at local level.

 Refer all complaints to the County Organiser for discussion and resolution.

 Attend National, County and Regional Meetings and other events as requested. 

 Support designated Garden Owners by maintaining contact prior to their open day and follow up.

 Attend garden open days, wherever possible, to support the Garden Owner.

Skills:

 People skills - dealing with a wide range of people.

 Proven organisational skills with good attention to detail.

 Ability to prioritise and to work under pressure at times.

 Pro-active thinker to suggest ideas to improve systems.

 Basic ICT skills and email access required.

Personal qualities: A love of gardens. Enjoy working as part of a close team, showing a mature, helpful approach to colleagues and Garden Owners. Excellent communication skills; at ease with a wide variety of people; patience and tact in dealing with volunteers and Garden Owners. Job Purpose:

We are seeking a highly organised, proactive, and trustworthy Executive Assistant to support the Founder with the day-to-day coordination, administration, communication, and priorities of the CIC.

You will work closely with the Founder and senior team to keep meetings, projects, communications, and actions organised and moving forward.

This is an unpaid voluntary position for someone passionate about fighting CSA and supporting survivors across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the Founder’s calendar, meetings, appointments, and commitments.
• Support the Founder with emails, correspondence, reports, presentations, and briefing documents.
• Attend meetings, take notes, track actions, and ensure follow-ups are completed through Asana.
• Coordinate with departments, volunteers, partners, and external stakeholders on behalf of the Founder.
• Support the organisation of events, training, fundraising activities, and key meetings.
• Maintain organised digital files, shared documents, and confidential information.
• Help the Founder stay informed by gathering updates and highlighting key priorities and deadlines.
• Handle sensitive information relating to CSA, survivors, and organisational matters with discretion.
• Provide additional administrative and coordination support as required.

Ideal Candidate

• Passionate about fighting CSA and supporting survivors.
• Highly organised, proactive, reliable, and able to manage competing priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional, empathetic, discreet, and trustworthy.
• Confident working independently and directly with senior leadership.

Previous Executive Assistant, Personal Assistant, administration, or project coordination experience is beneficial but not essential.
