The Army Cadet Charitable Trust UK (ACCT UK) is a 96-year-old national youth charity dedicated to improving the life chances of young people and is the official charity supporting the national youth movement known as the Army Cadet Force (ACF). We help disadvantaged young people access the opportunities and benefits available in the Army Cadet programme and, through doing so, enable them to develop and achieve their own potential. ABOUT THE ROLE
The Finance specialist trustee will be an important member of ACCT UK’s Board. You would be part of our team of trustees overseeing the strategic direction of ACCT UK to ensure that it achieves its charitable objects with the particular role of monitoring its financial management. Our charity is financially secure and stable, nevertheless we are looking for an additional trustee with finance experience to work in partnership with the charity’s Treasurer (Chair of the Finance and General Purposes Committee) in monitoring the work of the Charity’s finance team, thus providing fellow board trustees with financial insight and reassurance. We would say it, wouldn’t we (!), but we think you would really enjoy being a trustee and also find it hugely satisfying and rewarding. A fuller description of the role is at Annex A.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
We are seeking a volunteer with a strong professional track record in finance or accountancy, who can provide senior level oversight on our Finance and General Purposes Committee. You will have an understanding of best practice in financial
reporting, controls and governance. A background in charity finance is not essential but would be advantageous. We are seeking a Trustee with sound judgement, the highest professional standards and integrity and strong communication skills who would enjoy contributing to the overall governance of the charity. This role would suit someone with a finance background looking for their first trustee position or who has been a Treasurer for a smaller charity and is not looking for a larger Treasurer role at this time.

TENURE
Once elected as a trustee, you will be asked to serve for a three-year term, following which by mutual agreement you could be elected for a further three-year term.
On election you will have a probationary period of 3 to 4 months depending on your joining date and dates of board meetings and committee group meetings. In the probationary period you should attend one board meeting and at least two committee meetings as a trustee. This will give you an insight into the work done by trustees and the commitment required to be a trustee and will allow both the board and you to assess whether this role is suitable for you. You will have full trustee voting rights during the probationary period.

SEED Madagascar is a British Charity working in partnership with communities in the southeast of Madagascar. We integrate high-quality community health, sustainable livelihoods; education infrastructure and conservation programmes to support long term, sustainable change and add to international best practice through research and publication across all of our programmatic areas. Position Overview

This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience working with an award-winning international charity on their website, marketing and digital platforms. Working closely with the Communications and Marketing team, your skills will be used to maintain and improve the website, track performance metrics over time, contribute to campaigns and fundraising, and publicise the charity's programmes to an international audience.

The CFDN charity has been in existence since 1962 servicing people with disabilities and their families of all faiths and none across Essex and East London. Hidayah is a volunteer-led organisation supporting LGBTQ+ Muslims through community support, advocacy, education, and wellbeing initiatives. This role requires a minimum commitment of 4–5 hours per week, with additional time required during busy periods or organisational activities.

Purpose of the Role

The National Outreach Officer Trustee leads on developing and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders, community organisations, and outreach partners. The role supports Hidayah’s national growth and helps ensure LGBTQ+ Muslims can access inclusive support, representation, and community connections.

Core Responsibilities

• Act as a key point of contact between Hidayah and external organisations, community groups, and stakeholders.
• Build and maintain relationships with LGBTQ+ organisations, faith groups, educational institutions, and community networks.
• Promote Hidayah’s events, campaigns, and services across relevant communities and platforms.
• Lead outreach initiatives to engage under-represented LGBTQ+ Muslim communities, including trans and intersex individuals.
• Develop, coordinate, and support a national network of outreach volunteers and representatives.
• Work collaboratively with external organisations to provide signposting and access to wellbeing, legal, financial, and community support services.
• Represent Hidayah at events, workshops, panels, and educational opportunities where appropriate.
• Encourage inclusive dialogue, partnership working, and stronger engagement across LGBTQ+ and faith communities.
• Support the growth, visibility, and positive representation of Hidayah nationally.

Trustee Responsibilities

• Attend Trustee Board meetings and provide regular updates and reports.
• Support Hidayah events, planning meetings, and fundraising activities.
• Engage with internal communications and shared systems (e.g., Discord and Google Drive).
• Respond to emails and communications promptly.
• Contribute to the Annual Report.
• Uphold Hidayah’s mission, values, and code of conduct.

Our Volunteer Community Pet Speakers play a vital role in educating and inspiring communities by sharing important pet care messaging with diverse audiences, tailoring their approach to their own strengths and interests.

By supporting the Community Programmes team, you will help inform and educate pet owners in key areas through workshops, community events, and outreach activities.

What will I be doing:

• Shadowing staff to train in school workshop delivery and / or leading stands at community events, across our key areas of Peterborough & Fenland.
• Once trained, delivering pet welfare and dog safety sessions to primary age children in schools, youth clubs and to uniform groups.
• Running interactive event stands at various community events to share essential information on caring for dogs, cats, rabbits, and other small pets.

Important things to note:

To keep everyone safe and ensure the best support for pet owners, we ask our Community Pet Speakers to follow these guidelines:

• When in a school environment ensure you follow the schools and Woodgreen’s safeguarding policy. This includes making sure you are never alone with a student and a member of school staff is always present during sessions.
• If you’re performing a task for Woodgreen in the community alone, always have a designated point of contact, as outlined in our lone working policy. Your safety is our priority!
• Until your training record is fully signed off, we ask that you don’t give direct advice. Instead, you can help by guiding pet owners to the right support services or making a referral to an education or outreach Officer who can assist them. This ensures pet owners get the best possible help.
• An enhanced DBS check is required for this role.

A full induction will be provided for this role which will need to be completed prior to commencing volunteering.  If driving to schools/appointments you will be expected to comply with driving licence checks and the Charity’s Driver and Vehicle policy.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

As we grow, we need an experienced Operations Manager to help us run well behind the scenes — so everything on the frontline can keep delivering. This is a meaningful voluntary leadership role for someone with professional experience in operations, HR, or management who wants their skills to count for something real.

You will work closely with the CEO and senior team to ensure the organisation runs efficiently, compliantly, and in line with our values.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Oversight

• Lead and coordinate day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency and alignment with organisational goals

• Support departments to stay aligned, compliant, and focused on delivery

• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, maximise resources, and improve impact

HR Oversight

• Oversee HR policies, compliance, and staff wellbeing in line with UK employment law and safeguarding requirements

• Support recruitment and onboarding — fair, inclusive, and safeguarding-compliant

• Provide HR guidance to managers and staff; escalate to external expertise when needed

• Maintain oversight of volunteer engagement and HR record keeping

Finance Oversight

• Supervise the Finance Coordinator (10 hrs/week) and provide accountability for financial administration

• Monitor budgets, financial reports, and expenditure in line with charity governance standards

• Ensure accurate, timely reporting to the CEO and Trustees

• Liaise with accountants, auditors, and external advisors as required

Leadership & Governance

• Work alongside the CEO, Trustees, and senior team to align operations with organisational strategy

• Provide assurance of compliance with safeguarding, data protection, charity law, and employment legislation

• Model organisational values of safeguarding, equity, inclusion, and community impact
