At the heart of Ronald McDonald House Charities, is a simple belief: families belong together, especially when a child is seriously ill. Every day, we support parents, siblings and carers at one of the most challenging moments of their lives, offering not just a place to stay, but space to breathe, connect and cope.

We are the UK’s leading provider of family accommodation, with a network of 14 Houses supporting around 530 families each night. Thousands more families use our Houses each year as a place to rest, refresh and gather strength before returning to their child’s bedside. Yet demand continues to exceed supply, and too many families are still facing long commutes, sleepless nights on hospital chairs or in cars.

Over the next five years, our ambition is clear: to help more families and to serve them better, expanding both our accommodation and our programme of emotional and practical support. To help guide us through this pivotal phase, we are seeking to appoint two new Trustees to our Board:

• Trustee – Paediatric Experience: We are looking for a Trustee with significant paediatric expertise and a strong understanding of the clinical and hospital environment. This may be from a senior paediatric, nursing or allied health background, or with strategic or operational experience from the children’s health sector. You will bring insight into the realities facing children, families and healthcare teams, helping the Board make informed, compassionate decisions.
• Trustee – Finance & Investments: We are also seeking a Trustee with strong finance experience, including knowledge of investments. You will provide strategic oversight and constructive challenge around financial sustainability, reserves, investment strategy and stewardship, supporting our long term growth and resilience.

The Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance (LNAA) is one of the UK’s leading Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) charities, providing rapid, life-saving critical care across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our Helicopter and Critical Care Cars take the expertise of the hospital directly to the scene of the emergency, reaching any point in our two counties in under 20 minutes. About the Trustee roles

Position Summary
The M&E Assistant (Analysis) shall be  responsible for transforming raw field data into actionable insights. This role manages the project database, ensuring all data is entered correctly and analyzed to track progress against KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).

Action for Stammering Children (ASC) is looking to recruit two enthusiastic and suitably qualified people to join our Trustee Board – ideally one with a background in academic work in a field related to speech and language difficulties, and the other with experience in the policy world and/ or corporate sector. You might have a personal connection to stammering but this is not required. Your interest, enthusiasm and experience are the most important.

What is Action for Stammering Children?

Action for Stammering Children is the UK charity for children and young people who stammer, their families, and the communities who support them. We are a small charity, founded in 1989, but one that has big ambitions and punches considerably above its weight.

We’re here to make sure that every child who stammers has the support, respect and confidence to live the life they want to lead.

We support and empower parents, caregivers and professionals; facilitate and champion research; and campaign for changes in policy and societal attitudes

What do we do?

1. Provide information, community and support

We provide resources, advice and guidance for children and young people who stammer, their families, and the professionals who support them.

2. Work to change policies and attitudes

We make sure the voices of children and young people who stammer are heard. We work with politicians and other decision makers to ensure the unique needs of children who stammer are reflected in public policy. But we know we can’t stop there. That’s why we campaign to challenge prejudices and misconceptions, seeking to change how society treats stammering and promote acceptance.

3. Champion research

We support and promote research into childhood stammering in order to build understanding and feed into our advocacy work, informing positive changes in policy and practice.

Our team

ASC currently has a staff team of four, headed up by CEO Dr Ria Bernard since 2022, and in addition we have a part-time book-keeper and often a couple of interns in the summer.

Our Board of Trustees has been chaired by Dame Jane Roberts since 2021 with Juliet Leach recently appointed as Vice-Chair. We are a professional and friendly bunch who would extend a warm welcome to new trustees. Our board includes two younger trustees who had previously been members of ASC’s Youth Panel.  The Youth Panel is made up of young people who themselves stammer and who inform our strategic direction as well as engage in projects of their own. Our Annual Report for 2024-25 is available on the Charity Commission website, in addition to Trustees’ Reports for previous years.

Chair of Trustees role:

You will be chairing the Board of Trustees, ensuring that we have minimum representation required for decisions to be made, keeping the board aligned in decision-making, ensuring all minutes are recorded and that all decisions by trustees are made with the appropriate context provided.

This is a great opportunity to develop further governance skills and experience, and help steer an important charity in the right direction.

Trustees meetings are usually held every six weeks, plus there is an AGM, away days, and any sub-committee meetings that trustees may be involved in. Most meetings will remain virtual but there will from time to time be a need to attend key meetings and events in Nottingham. The time commitment is approximately 4hours per month, but there may be occasions when more time is required for a short period.

Who are we looking for?

• Previous chairing experience
• Relevant experience in any of the following financial management, HR, charities, fundraising, social prescribing, NHS, health inequalities (including deaf community), local authorities, marketing, business development, governance, strategy or legal

Self Help UK is a leading peer support organisation with over 40 years of experience in developing and delivering peer-led services. We speak to local residents about their experiences of accessing health and care services to understand patient experience across the borough. We use this information to influence health and care commissioning in and around Islington and to provide residents with information about local services and their rights to access them. The role of a volunteer Health Champion:

We are looking for people who are friendly, patient and confident talking to new people to help us hear about local people’s experiences of health and care services.

This Health Champion role can include:

• Attending information stands in the community as part of our team and talking to local residents

• Supporting health information workshops or community meetings (notetaking, participant feedback etc.)

• Providing health information about specific campaigns (e.g. cancer awareness, heart health; training will be provided)

All Healthwatch Islington volunteers must attend an induction session and appropriate training before volunteering with us.

Role Description:

Talk to residents and listen to their experiences at health Information stalls and events. These will mainly be in the daytime, Monday-Friday. These activities take place across the borough and require the ability to travel.

As we work with a wide range of residents across our diverse ethnic minority communities, we welcome applications from people with diverse language skills.

Will you share your counselling or psychotherapy skills as a child & young person's (CYP) counsellor or therapist to join an online counselling service for young patients with a pain condition (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome)? We’re supporting patients, relatives, partners and carers affected by a debilitating condition; Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS).

We're looking for qualified paediatric/child &/or young person counsellors, psychotherapists or psychologists ideally with some experience of working with chronic pain patients, who may want to volunteer their skills supporting our young service users and help develop a psychological support service. 

As a Volunteer Child and/or young person's Counsellor/Therapist you’ll be providing remote online counselling/therapy support services to young people aged 5 to 18 who are vulnerable, many of whom are isolated and in need of mental health services. You’ll be providing one-to-one counselling sessions online or by phone. With your recognised counselling qualifications and experience you will be an asset to our small charity and to our young services users. 

Depending on your qualifications, skills and experience, volunteer child counsellors / therapists provide person centred counselling (general talking counselling), integrative, pluralistic including or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), ACT and EMDR for young CRPS patients.

We are needing to expand this service to support our young clients as it has rapidly received a high number of referrals. People can be referred both by health or legal professionals as well as having parents/guardians referring them to the service.

In this role you’ll be able to develop your paediatric counselling skills, organisation, communication and team working skills. If you have experience in younger children please do get in touch.

Most importantly, you’ll provide essential services that ensure no one has to face CRPS alone. Be the hope for CRPS.

What the role involves

This role may vary depending on needs, but is likely to include:

• Undertake child client general assessments, followed by therapy (via Zoom or phone) to our clients, offering up to 20 one hour (or 45 mins age dependant) sessions for each client plus 4 assessments

• Providing one-to-one therapy sessions to young patients aged 5-18 (we will consider therapists who can only support primary or secondary school age)

• Update our database with the client’s basic information and session attendance

• Maintain succinct, relevant session notes and store these securely

• Attending and participating in meetings
• Project monitoring, creating, reporting and outcomes evaluation procedures

• Attend CPD training to ensure your knowledge stays current

• Participating in regular meetings with the Clinical Lead
• Maintaining client confidentiality, upholding data protection and equal opportunities principle

• Attend monthly internal group Supervision to ensure safe working practices

We can support you to develop the skills you need for this role, including an induction. You will have a chance to discuss your role and any additional needs with us.

What you need for this role

Essential

• Be a member of one of the recognised organisations (see below)
• Level 4 Diploma level qualifications as a minimum, Degree or Masters in Paediatric Counselling, Counselling/Clinical Psychology, Psychotherapy, Play Therapy, Dance & Movement Psychotherapy or Art Therapy 
• Minimum of 100 hours supervised
• Proof of professional indemnity insurance annually - we may consider paying this as an expense but a commitment to the charity is required
• A valid DBS certificate (enhanced version), which is less than three years old and renewed every three years (the charity can provide where necessary)
• Able to keep people’s personal data safe

• Willing and able to provide counselling via Zoom from a private location with a stable WiFi connection

• Able to support a minimum of 3 child or young clients a week, being three hours of your time for counselling sessions plus time for administration. We ideally hope you to offer the charity a commitment of six months.

What impact will the opportunity have?

Popham Kidney Support is a leading kidney charity based in Swansea, dedicated to improving the quality of life for children, young people, and adults living with kidney disease across Wales. The charity was founded in 2013 in memory of Paul Popham and received full charitable status in 2015. Its mission is simple: to ensure that no kidney patient faces their journey alone.

The organisation provides a wide range of services designed to support emotional, physical, and financial wellbeing. These include peer mentoring, counselling, Kidney Café support groups, welfare advice, patient grants, education programmes, and wellbeing initiatives such as activity weekends and involvement in transplant sports.

Purpose/Summary of Role

The Treasurer is a trustee responsible for overseeing the financial affairs of the organisation, ensuring that finances are managed in line with legal requirements, good practice, and the organisation’s charitable aims.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership

• Ensure the organisation’s financial resources are managed responsibly and sustainably.
• Lead on financial strategy, planning, and risk management.
• Oversee the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.

Financial Monitoring and Reporting

• Present clear, accurate financial reports to the Board.
• Monitor financial performance and alert the Board to any risks or variances.
• Ensure proper accounting records are kept in line with legal requirements.

Compliance and Governance

• Ensure the organisation complies with financial regulations, charity law, Companies House regulations (if applicable), and funder requirements.
• Support the preparation and submission of annual accounts, reports, and returns.

Internal Processes

We are looking for 3 experienced creative content writers who will enjoy planning, updating and delivering the content for our website, members magazine as well as other digital and print materials. We are looking for 3 skilled professionals who can write compelling and persuasive content, who will help ensure a consistent tone across all our digital and printed communications to promote awareness and engagement.

We deal with a wide range of people and professions, which means that it can be difficult to consistently communicate with everyone effectively. Therefore, a communication and marketing volunteer will help to market our projects, services and the condition more widely than we are currently able to do. This includes creating and helping to distribute marketing materials, creating content for the Burning Nights CRPS Support website and helping us create and develop a communications and marketing strategy.

Key Tasks and Objectives

• Copywriting: Create well-written and compelling copy for use on our website, members magazine, leaflets, one-page/fact sheets, fundraising/promotional materials and in our membership packs
• Case study writing and storytelling: Help communicate our impact via stories and case studies that we can use on our website, in marketing materials, or for our fundraising materials

About Us

Health in the Margins C.I.C. is a newly established UK Community Interest Company. We centre the voices, values and healing traditions of frontline communities- those most affected by health inequalities.

We do this through:

We are looking for a new non-executive director to join our board and help guide the organisation as we grow.

As a small, founder-led organisation, we need someone who can offer strategic thinking, support strong and ethical governance, and help us build a sustainable foundation while staying true to our values and accountable to community.

This is an opportunity to shape an organisation from an early stage and contribute to work focused on health justice. We are looking for someone who is not only skilled, but also personally committed to this work and willing to engage thoughtfully with the communities we come from and work with.

Who we are looking for

We are interested in someone who is passionate about tackling health inequity and motivated to contribute to grassroots, community-led work. We are recruiting 1 or 2 new directors. As we are newly established, experience in one or more of the following would be helpful:

• Strategic thinking aligned with our mission
• Governance (for example as a trustee or director of a charity or CIC) to help us with activities such as updating our bye-laws
• Fundraising (especially with trusts and foundations)
• Developing sustainable income or partnerships
• Finance, risk or organisational sustainability

You will be part of a small grassroots team that is committed to closing the health gaps in our communities. In this role, you will:
