We provide a platform for survivors and whistleblowers to share their lived experiences, highlight systemic frustrations and offer solutions rooted in culturally trauma-informed care.

Our membership offers young people and survivors a path to heal, learn digital skills and interactively participate in our Alchemic 369 Book Club, where members engage in weekly interactive discussions, debates and critical analysis of African, Caribbean and world history, Ifa, classics and political thought. Members will sharpen their reading, reasoning and imagination skills, with opportunities to discuss works directly with authors, highly subsidised plant-based transformative retreats and join a community designed to empower and educate.

Job Purpose:

To design and oversee a safe, ethical, and structured outreach system for engaging potential CSA survivors who may want to share their stories publicly or anonymously.

About the role:

This role leads the entire outreach strategy for survivor engagement across social media, podcasts, referrals, and community networks. They ensure all communication is trauma-informed, consent-led, and does not exploit or pressure vulnerable individuals.

They create safe entry points for survivors to self-identify interest in sharing their story and establish referral pathways into the production team.

They also act as the final gatekeeper before any survivor is contacted for interview consideration.

Ideal Candidate

• Experience working with trauma survivors, advocacy groups, or social impact organisations

• Deep understanding of safeguarding principles

• Emotionally mature, calm, non-reactive communicator

• Experience in ethical storytelling or documentary/podcast environments

• Comfortable working in sensitive, high-emotion subject matter

Experience

• Trauma-informed care training or equivalent lived/professional experience

• Background in NGOs, survivor support organisations, or advocacy

• Experience in safeguarding frameworks (children/adults at risk)

• Media or communications experience in sensitive storytelling

There’s so much for you to get stuck into when volunteering in our shops. We have several different positions available.

Stock Sorting Assistant: We get lots of donations so you will be rolling up your sleeves in the back room where you will be receiving, sorting, and pricing donations, predominantly Bric-a-Brac, Books and Clothes, it's always exciting when one of our volunteers spots a real gem.

Furniture Store Assistant: The role will also include assisting with moving furniture around the store, assembling & dismantling beds, and other flat packed furniture, and getting to express your creative side, by making attractive room displays.

It would be ideal if you could volunteer at least one shift a week, which is about four hours but we're also happy to have more flexible times.

No special skills are needed as we will show you what to do and will provide all the training you need. But if you have any experience or particular interest tell us, it may come in useful. Our shops help raise lots of money for us. It’s always lovely chatting to our customers about the fabulous items we sell and telling them about the fantastic work that we do. As a volunteer you will get the chance to meet new people and make friends, plus be part of an amazing team of volunteers.

On the shop floor, as well as welcoming and serving our customers with a smile, you will be using the till (don't worry, we will show you how) and handling money. When people come in to donate items you will also be completing the Gift Aid forms that let their donations help us even more. You will also be answering the telephone. The role would suit anyone with basic computer skills, and a clear phone voice.

To identify, engage, and build trust with online and offline communities where survivors are already voluntarily sharing or expressing interest in telling their story.

About the role:

These coordinators manage daily outreach across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook groups, forums, survivor networks, and advocacy spaces.

They:

• Support anonymous entry pathways

Ideal Candidate

• Highly emotionally intelligent and respectful communicator

• Experienced in community building or social impact outreach

To manage the first point of structured contact for survivors who choose to come forward.

About the role:

This role handles all inbound expressions of interest. They conduct gentle, structured pre-screening conversations to understand:

• Readiness to share

• Emotional safety considerations

• Preferred anonymity level

• Boundaries and consent

They do NOT conduct interviews. They prepare individuals for referral into production or therapeutic support pathways.

Ideal Candidate

• Calm, grounded, empathetic communicator

• Experience in counselling, support work, or helpline environments

• Strong emotional containment skills

• Ability to hold sensitive conversations without leading or influencing narratives

Experience

• Helpline work, counselling support, or victim support services

Get Out There groups are a growing division of Sense that cater for children between 6 and 16 with complex needs. We provide a 4 hour social setting which caters for children and families who need respite. We offer activities such as games, puzzles, arts and crafts, experiments, cookery and sensory play. We aim to tailor sessions to the needs, interests and abilities of the children we support and put pupil voice at the center of all we do. 

As a volunteer you'll make sure that everyone has a great time and can make the most of the activities on offer. You'll need lots of energy, a warm and welcoming personality and to be happy getting stuck in to a wide range of tasks and activities, all of which make sure that everyone has the best day they can together. 

What your role will involve

• Taking part in activities alongside disabled young people. You could be joining creative activities, movement or sports session, trips out in to the local community or seasonal themed activities.
• Helping to set up the activities at the start of the day, clear away at the end and keep activities safe, clean and running smoothly throughout.
• Helping to welcome young people to the group, find their way around and between activities, enjoy breaks and lunchtime and generally have a great day with the team and Sense.

A basic / enhanced Disclosure & Barring check will be required for this volunteer role.

For everyone living with complex disabilities. For everyone who is deafblind. Sense is here to offer personalised support to help people communicate and experience the world. We believe that no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, should be isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential. Our experts offer support that’s tailored to the individual needs of each person, whether that’s at our centres, through our holidays and short breaks, or in people’s own homes. In addition to practical support, we also provide information to families, and campaign for the rights of people with complex disabilities to take part in life. 

Volunteers add real value to Sense, bringing their passion, enthusiasm and fresh perspectives to the work that we do. We believe that volunteers enable us to bring people together, and provide opportunities for people with complex disabilities to communicate and experience the world. 

Our shops are a hive of activity and the heart of the local community. They raise funds to support our vital work and provide a place to find out more about how we help older people in the local area.

Our Stock Preparation Volunteers always enjoy being part of our shop teams; making new friends and helping the charity to maximise the income from the amazing items people donate to us.

In this role you will usually be working in our donation sorting area, which is off the shop floor. Here you will help the team process, prepare and price the items people donate.

We receive hundreds of bags of clothing, bric-a-brac, toys, games and all sorts of items every week. You will help us to turn these into vital funds to support our work.

After full training you will be part of our processing team; sorting through the donated items, identifying those which we should sell, preparing them and pricing before they are put onto the shop floor.

You may have a particular area of experience, such as clothing, books or antiques. Your skills and knowledge will help us to gain the best value for each item and some of our volunteers even coordinate entire sections, such as a book rooms within our stores.

When people come in to donate their items you will be helping to thank them for their support. Many items are Gift Aided so when processing the items you will ensure that Gift Aid labels are attached so that we can gain this additional vital income.

You will help to make our products look amazing; steaming clothes (if this is your area) and helping to clean and make every item look great and ready for sale.

It would be ideal if you could volunteer at least one shift a week, which is about three hours but we're also happy to have more flexible times. No special skills are needed as we will show you what to do and will provide all the training you need.

Women on the Frontline Ministries (WOFM) is a Christian charity supporting women affected by sexual exploitation, trauma, isolation, abuse and vulnerability through outreach, advocacy, practical support and relationship-based care.

For many years, WOFM has built trusted relationships within local communities across East London, working alongside churches, frontline organisations and partner agencies to provide compassionate, non-judgemental support to women facing complex challenges.

We are now seeking a values-driven and collaborative Volunteer Charity Manager to help lead the organisation into its next season of growth, sustainability and impact.

About the Role

The Volunteer Charity Manager will provide overall leadership, coordination and operational oversight for the charity, working closely with the Board of Trustees, staff team and volunteers to strengthen the delivery of WOFM’s mission and future development.

This is a varied leadership role combining strategic coordination, relationship management, community engagement and operational oversight within a grassroots charity environment.

The successful candidate will not be working alone. The organisation currently includes:

• a part-time Women’s Support Worker

• a part-time Social Media Lead

• a dedicated team of volunteer Outreach Assistants

• an active and supportive Board of Trustees committed to working closely alongside the Manager

The Board is seeking a self-starting individual who works well independently and is committed to supporting the successful candidate with a sustainable organisational structure as the charity continues to grow and develop.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operational Coordination

• Provide overall coordination and day-to-day leadership across the charity’s outreach programmes and activities

• Oversee the effective delivery of operational priorities, outreach services and community engagement initiatives

• Maintain and strengthen effective systems, administration and organisational processes

• Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers and trustees to ensure services are delivered safely, compassionately and effectively

Team Leadership & Volunteer Coordination

• Encourage, coordinate and develop staff and volunteers across the organisation

• Oversee volunteer communication, engagement and rota coordination

• Contribute to recruitment, onboarding and ongoing team development

• Foster a collaborative, values-led and supportive organisational culture

Safeguarding & Community Engagement

• Promote good safeguarding practice and help ensure safeguarding responsibilities are managed appropriately

• Build strong working relationships with local organisations, churches and support agencies

• Contribute to advocacy, signposting and practical support activities where appropriate

Partnerships & Representation

• Build and maintain positive relationships with community partners, churches, local organisations and stakeholders

• Represent WOFM at meetings, networking opportunities and community events

• Champion awareness of the charity’s mission, impact and future vision

Governance, Sustainability & Development

• Work closely with the Chair and Board of Trustees to support the strategic direction of the organisation

• Prepare updates and reports for trustee meetings where required

• Contribute to fundraising activities, funding applications and sustainability planning

• Help strengthen the long-term development and operational capacity of the charity

About You

We are looking for someone who is compassionate, organised and able to lead with empathy, wisdom and good judgement.

You may have experience within:

• charity leadership or voluntary sector management

• community outreach or social impact work

• ministry or faith-based leadership

• safeguarding or support services

• operations, programme or project coordination

• volunteer management or partnership working

We also welcome applications from individuals with transferable leadership experience and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable women and strengthening communities.

Note: This role is open to female applicants only, as being female is deemed to be a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9, Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010. The successful candidate is required to complete an enhanced DBS check.

Time Commitment & Availability

This is a flexible volunteer leadership role of approximately 20 hours per week, which we are happy to shape around the right person’s other commitments. We would suggest thinking of it as roughly 4 hours a day across a typical working week but how those hours are arranged is genuinely negotiable, and we are open to discussing an arrangement that works for you.

The role is hybrid, combining:

• remote and flexible working from home

• attendance at outreach activities, particularly on Wednesday afternoons for daytime drop-in sessions and Friday evenings for evening outreach

• meetings and occasional events in East London (typically evenings and occasional weekends)

• trustee and board meetings on a regular scheduled cycle

Reasonable, pre-agreed out-of-pocket expenses actually incurred in carrying out the role (for example, travel) will be reimbursed. Ideally, we are seeking someone able to commit to the role for a minimum of 6 months to support continuity and sustainable growth.

Support & Future Development

The successful candidate will work alongside a committed Board of Trustees, staff team and volunteers who are passionate about the mission of the charity.

While this is currently a voluntary role, the Board is actively working to secure funding with the aim of creating paid leadership and operational roles in the future. We cannot guarantee if or when such funding will be confirmed, and any future paid appointment would be made through a fair and open recruitment process. That said, someone who grows with WOFM and comes to know the organisation well would be well placed to be considered as those opportunities arise.

Tell My Truth and Shame the Devil C.I.C is a pioneering Podcast/YouTube Channel and healing membership organisation. We provide a platform for survivors and whistleblowers to share their lived experiences, highlight systemic frustrations and offer solutions rooted in culturally trauma-informed care.

Our membership offers young people and survivors a path to heal, learn digital skills and interactively participate in our Alchemic 369 Book Club, where members engage in weekly interactive discussions, debates and critical analysis of African, Caribbean and world history, Ifa, classics and political thought. Members will sharpen their reading, reasoning and imagination skills, with opportunities to discuss works directly with authors, highly subsidised plant-based transformative retreats and join a community designed to empower and educate.

Job Purpose:

To lead the strategic planning and operational design of a world-class IFA Retreat in Nigeria, ensuring that every aspect of the guest experience reflects the values, traditions, spirituality, hospitality, and cultural authenticity of the Yoruba/Ifa traditions. The consultant will develop the operational framework required to transition the retreat from concept stage to a fully functioning retreat destination.

About the role:

As a Founding Volunteer Hospitality Operations Consultant, you will work closely with the leadership team to design the retreat's operational structure before construction and launch.

You will help create the guest journey, accommodation experience, retreat activities, staffing requirements, wellness offerings, cultural experiences, food and beverage operations, maintenance systems, and daily operating procedures.

This role requires a strategic thinker who understands hospitality operations while appreciating the importance of preserving the sacred atmosphere and cultural integrity of an authentic Ifa retreat experience.

The successful candidate will remain involved throughout the development phase and assist in refining systems as the retreat evolves toward full operation.

Ideal Candidate

● Passionate about African heritage, indigenous traditions, spiritual tourism, and cultural preservation.

● Understands or is willing to deeply immerse themselves in Yoruba culture and Ifa traditions.

● Experienced in creating hospitality systems from the ground up.

● Comfortable working within a start-up or development environment.

● Able to think strategically while also creating detailed operational procedures.

● Committed to long-term involvement and continuity.

● Strong leadership and project coordination abilities.

● Comfortable collaborating with international teams and local Nigerian stakeholders.

Experience & Skills

● Experience in hospitality, retreat, resort, eco-lodge, wellness centre, boutique hotel, or tourism operations.

● Experience developing operational manuals, SOPs, and guest service frameworks.

● Understanding of accommodation operations, housekeeping, maintenance, food service, and guest relations.

● Experience creating staffing structures and operational workflows.

● Strong project management and organisational skills.

● Experience in Africa or culturally focused tourism projects is highly desirable.

● Knowledge of Yoruba culture, Ifa tradition, African spirituality, cultural tourism, or heritage preservation is advantageous.
