The Partnership Manager role will report to the CEO and sit within the Business Development Team.

Essential Experience

• Have a minimum 5 years sales and client relationship experience

• Proven success in a similar role, with a track record of securing income through multi-year partnerships

• Strong relationship management skills, particularly within the education and/or corporate sector.

• Ability to manage a heavy and varied workload effectively and maintain high levels of both accuracy and output

• Ability to think strategically and identify new opportunities and initiatives to grow the business

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience of producing high quality written materials that are tailored to the needs of specific internal or external audiences.

• Experience managing a CRM system, sales systems flow and executing sales campaigns/funnels

• Experience working in a fast-paced environment and working independently to find solutions to problems

We are looking to recruit a HOPELINE247 Manager to enable the delivery of an outstanding suicide prevention helpline, through the effective management of HOPELINE247 advisers, alongside the promotion and development of the service.

What you will do:

Provide leadership, guidance, and effective line management to a team of suicide prevention advisers.

Ensure a consistent and high-quality service is delivered through effective quality assurance processes.

Manage staffing and resources effectively to ensure the efficient running of the helpline service.

Risk assess and provide advice and guidance to the team, in relation to safeguarding matters, in line with policy and procedures.

Provide ad hoc rota cover to support a range of clients via multi-channel communications, adhering to HOPELINE247 remit at all times.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

A proven track record of building and managing an effective team, supporting their development and managing their performance.

Previous experience of building, developing and managing effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in the community, voluntary, statutory and political settings.

Previous successful experience of working in suicide prevention or mental health.

Awareness of the issues around safeguarding and how these can affect young people and adults at risk.

Degree level or a professional qualification in Health, Nursing, Social Work, Community Work or a related discipline.

Salary: £34,224 per annum (Scale point 29), progressing by increments to £36,869.25 per annum (Scale point 32). As a night shift worker, you will receive an additional allowance of £10 per night shift. This will be paid on a monthly basis along with the salary.

Hours: 33 hours per week

Working arrangements: This role will work shifts starting at 10:25pm and finishing at 07:40am. Shifts will be on a rota bases across a 7-day working week. 33 hours will be based upon working 4 nights shifts per week.

In this varied and rewarding role you will engage, motivate and support young carers and in doing so you will make a real difference to young carers within Surrey.

You will be based at our offices in Burpham, Guildford for approximately one day a fortnight, with access to hotdesking at any time. Your remaining working hours will be spent engaging with young carers within youth settings, schools or other settings or undertaking planning/recording work from home. • To complete an assessment of need with young carers and provide signposting advocacy and support.
• To work in schools/colleges to increase the identification and support of young carers.
• To provide regular and on-going time out and fun club sessions for young carers to meet others in similar situations and have a break from their caring role.
• To update the database and SYC webpages– for example to update young carers records and update details of planned youth clubs.
• To provide signposting and advocacy to Young Carers and their families.
• To facilitate bespoke sessions for 16-17 year olds.
• To facilitate a program of on-line activities (i.e. via zoom) to young carers.

You must:

• Be confident in encouraging children, young people and their parents/carers to engage with our activities.

Context of Role:

Our Head of Young People's Services is a critical, strategic and operational role within Blackburn and Darwen Youth Zone. As a supporting member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), you will work closely with the Director of Operations, CEO and the Director of Finance to ensure the charity delivers its vision and strategic objectives. This includes strategies for sustaining and overseeing the ongoing transformation of Blackburn and Darwen Youth Zones' operational business plan and its operational processes and infrastructure. Your leadership skills will play a crucial role (in conjunction with the leadership team) in establishing a platform and environment for growth by creating a best-in-class, people-first, employee-of-choice that changes the prospect of local children and young people (aged 5 to 25 years). To assist the Service Manager to ensure that the centre runs at its targeted occupancy according to the annual budget.

To assist the Service Manager in reaching funded occupancy set out in the annual budget.

To assist the Service Manager in completing a thorough and comprehensive assessment with all potential new residents to assess their suitability and appropriateness for the service.

To ensure that all telephone calls and correspondence to the centre are answered professionally and promptly.

To produce written progress reports to statutory funders and work alongside colleagues on tender applications for new contracts as and when required.

To ensure the smooth transition and induction of all new residents to the centre, you will be required to assist with supervised drug and/or alcohol testing.

To effectively communicate with colleagues, residents and agencies.

To build and maintain open and productive relationships between all parties.

To facilitate regular team meetings and provide clear and concise communications to the staff team at regular intervals.

To ensure that each member of your staff receives one to one supervision in accordance with the supervision policy.

To attend events when required and at times deliver presentations.

To work alongside the Service Manager to complete objectives and achieve targets set for the service.

To undertake relevant training that may fall outside of their normal working pattern and hours.

To maintain high and excellent standards of practice using a person centred approach to support that places the dignity and integrity of the individual resident at the forefront of priorities.

To deputise for the Service Manager in their absence and assume full responsibility for the running of the service.

Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies, statutory requirements and local authority protocols.

Be accountable for safe working practices ensuring the availability of appropriate equipment and resources.

Report accidents and incidents in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Staffing

To assist the Service Manager in the recruitment of new staff in accordance with our Safer Recruitment policy

To provide a thorough and comprehensive induction programme to new staff.

To ensure that sufficient staff are available to deliver high quality services and take responsibility for the staff rota.

Ensure that staff are effectively led and appropriately managed to ensure that excellent performance is recognised and remedial action is taken where performance or conduct falls below expectations.

Alongside the Service Manager, ensure that all staff receive appropriate supervision, appraisals and are actively and positively encouraged to maximise their skills and qualities.

Provide opportunities for staff training and development.

Assist the Service Manager with absence management, monitoring staff performance and handling any disciplinary issues including investigations.

Promote and advocate for equality, diversity and inclusion and ensure that the young people within the centre are managed in line with Amber values and our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy.

Actively seek out, listen to and engage with staff and young people frequently to address areas of concern and/or improve ways of working.

Quality and Management

Ensure that the centre is well-led and provide strong leadership by enabling, inspiring and motivating staff and residents to generate a culture of creativity and ideas which help shape the future and find new and better ways of working.

Be accountable for the monitoring, assessment and reporting of the quality and outcomes of the services provided.

Work alongside the Service Manager to ensure all services are delivered within budget.

Ensure all incidents, accidents and complaints are recorded in accordance with policies and procedures.

Fundraising

To work effectively with the fundraising team, helping to ensure that they have the information needed to complete effective applications, proposals and reports.

Help facilitate visits of funders to demonstrate the impact of Amber’s work.

To assist the Fundraising Manager in the collection of positive case studies, photographs and news to compliment Amber’s communications work.

Financial

To follow all financial policies and procedures as required and in the absence of the Service Manager.

To assist the Service Manager in ensuring compliance with the centre budget, ensure effective budgeting and budgeting controls are in place.

To support the Service Manager in completing and contribute to the annual budget.

In the absence of the Service Manager, take responsibility for resident related income including housing benefit and resident’s service charge.

In the absence of the Service Manager, take responsibility for petty cash, ensuring this is accurately recorded and controlled.

Experience

Relevant professional or management qualification

Experience in management, preferably in the social care sector.

Experience leading and delivering projects.

Results focused, the ability to work proactively, plan, organise and optimise resources and complete targets within agreed timescales.

Ability to demonstrate effective people management skills through delegating, empowering, motivating and coaching staff.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.

Experience of working with disadvantaged young people.

We’re looking for a highly motivated communications professional who is passionate about supporting the growth of FoodCycle and working to help people understand the many benefits of community dining.

We’ve grown a lot over the last 15 years and our weekly community meals now run in more than 85 towns and cities across England and Wales. This role is vitally important in supporting our growth - we have plans to reach 100 Community Meal Projects by the end of this year as well as launching new initiatives that will help us support more families and children. 

The post holder will work closely with the Head of Marketing and the wider marketing team to develop campaigns and plans that will get as many people as possible talking about FoodCycle’s work, enhance our visibility and become the leaders in delivering and promoting community dining. 

You will have experience working within media or PR, with a track record of securing high quality media coverage. You will have knowledge of the media landscape, and the ability to craft a press release, pitch a story, work with case studies, and write blog posts.

Benefits: We offer 26.5 working days (this includes 3.5 days for the Christmas close down) plus additional holiday for length of service, up to a maximum of 30 days (pro-rata for part-time).
