About upReach
Do you think that your socio-economic background should determine your career prospects?
upReach’s vision is of a society in which everybody has an equal opportunity to realise their full career potential. Our work is important because right now a student from a disadvantaged background who gains a first-class degree from a top university is less likely to secure an elite job than a more privileged student with a 2.2.
We are an award-winning charity employer working to address this issue in partnership with employers and universities. We help undergraduates from lower socio-economic backgrounds achieve their career potential by providing an intensive programme of support that addresses socio-economic barriers to graduate employment.
To find out more about how we support our students, visit our website and read our Annual Report, and Impact Report.
About the FCLP
upReach is recruiting for our unique Future Charity Leaders Programme (FCLP). This is a great opportunity for anyone who is passionate about social mobility, and looking to gain exposure to various aspects of charity management whilst working with university students who are exploring their career options. We welcome applications from those in the corporate world who are looking for a career change as well as recent graduates wanting to kick-start their career in the third sector.
upReach’s Future Charity Leaders Programme (FCLP) combines delivery work (supporting our Associates) with exposure to a range of aspects of charity management.
As a Programme Coordinator on the FCLP, you will deliver personalised, employment-focused support to a cohort of approximately 80 Associates, helping to transform their lives by equipping them with the necessary skills to secure a top graduate job. During a typical week, you should expect to be working across a range of projects including:
1:1 undergraduate coaching
Events organisation
Application support
Partnership management (with university partners or employer partners)
and more!
In addition to this, the programme offers the opportunity to develop skills in key areas of charity management by participating in 3 rounds of six-month 'rotations' across different functions.
Throughout the programme, you will receive dedicated internal training developing your leadership skills and building your confidence in the role.Through our partnership with The Circle Line, you will be part of a supportive peer group, offered regular personal development training workshops online and in-person on their '12 Tools for Life'. You will also be able to choose your own practitioner to support you in 1:1 sessions throughout the programme to help you unlock more of your unique potential.
What will I be doing?
The FCLP is a fast-paced but rewarding role. Programme Coordinators spend 80% of their time (4 days per week) working directly with Associates to enhance their career knowledge and skills and 20% (1 day per week) on a charity management rotation (or an apprenticeship after 18 months). No two days are the same, but your responsibilities may include:
Building and maintaining strong relationships with Associates, helping them to achieve their career goals
Developing and delivering professional development-focused support
Individual and small group work with Associates
Assisting Associates with their applications to undergraduate positions and graduate jobs
Developing sector and/or employability skill knowledge while building resources to aid all Associates
Developing and maintaining strong relationships with university and/or employer partners
Delivering informative workshops to enhance sector knowledge and employability skills
Planning, delivering and reporting on events and workshops with partners
When applying for this role we ask that applicants are able to commit to the full 18-month training programme, and we encourage participation in the apprenticeship scheme beyond this. As you will be working directly with our beneficiaries throughout their degree, this consistency will allow you to build bonds with your Associates and ensure continuity, thus allowing us to have the most impact for the young people we work with.
What Skills and Experience do I need?
This programme would be suited to individuals who are committed to upReach’s mission, motivated to work with undergraduates and interested in learning about, and gaining experience in, charity management. A University degree in any discipline, or equivalent experience

Delivery Manager (Climate Action Fund Training and Development)
Reference: DM07
Location: Home-based (with some travel across the country)
Contract: Fixed term until June 2031
Salary: £30,000 - £34,000 per annum, FTE
Hours: Part-Time, 18.75 hours each week
Groundwork South is seeking a motivated and experienced part-time Delivery Manager to oversee the delivery of our Climate Action Fund project over the next five years.
About Us
Groundwork South works with communities across the south of England to transform their lives and the places where they live. We have been at the forefront of social and environmental regeneration for over 25 years, and today we have a simple mission: to create better places, improve people’s prospects, and promote greener living and working.
We are passionate about creating a future where every neighbourhood is vibrant and green, every community is strong and able to shape its own destiny, and no-one is held back by their background or circumstances. This vision drives the work that we do. Each year we deliver over 100 innovative projects, tackling the biggest issues facing our communities and creating real and lasting, positive change.
About the Project
Communities Prepared works with volunteers and communities across England to help them build the skills, confidence and knowledge needed to prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies. This includes supporting communities to plan for climate-related risks such as flooding, storms, heatwaves, and severe weather.
Despite the successes we have had through our programme to date, we are not currently reaching diverse enough audiences and too often there are people missing from the resilience sector. This needs to change. To address this we are now embarking on an exciting new UK-wide partnership programme funded through the National Lottery Community Fund’s Climate Action Fund over the next five years.
The programme responds to growing evidence that climate-related emergencies, including extreme heat, flooding, fire, cold and severe weather, disproportionately impact marginalised communities, while those same communities are often excluded from resilience planning and decision-making.
The programme brings together Equally Ours, Communities Prepared (part of Groundwork South), and the VCS Emergencies Partnership (VCSEP, part of the British Red Cross) to strengthen climate resilience by ensuring that communities experiencing discrimination and disadvantage are at the heart of climate preparedness, response, recovery and policy-making.
Through a rights-based and co-produced approach, the programme seeks to shift climate resilience policy and practice away from models that frame communities as “vulnerable”, and towards approaches grounded in agency, participation, equality and shared responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
As Delivery Manager, you will oversee the development and delivery of specific resilience focussed training and workshops with marginalised communities, with the understanding that our current offer will need to be adapted in line with feedback from these groups. Key tasks include:

ShareAction is an independent charity and an expert on responsible investment. We work to build a world where the financial system serves our planet and its people. We set ambitious standards for how financial institutions, through their investment decisions, can protect our planet and its people and campaign for this approach to become the norm. We convene shareholders to collectively push companies to tackle the climate crisis, protect nature, improve workers’ rights and shape healthier societies. In the UK and EU, we advocate for financial regulation that has society’s best interests at its core.
Position
The Programme Manager will work to support the Programme Lead in ensuring the smooth and effective running of ShareAction’s Energy Transition Programme, which aims to contribute to tackling the climate crisis. This pivotal role will lead the implementation of effective programme management processes and systems to plan, monitor and drive programme delivery, performance and expenditure. It will also support fundraising activity, events and external stakeholder engagement for the programme, and represent the programme with colleagues across the organisation to co-ordinate delivery, manage dependencies and ensure strategic alignment.
In this role, you will regularly engage with members of the Energy Transition team, with colleagues in other teams involved in helping to deliver aspects of the Programme, and with peer Programme Managers to promote strategic alignment and cross-team learning. Forming productive internal relationships will be crucial for success; using your skills and experience to manage and coordinate our resources will help to ensure we maximise our impact. In doing so, you will support ShareAction’s progress towards its overall mission of promoting a more responsible investment system as well as achieving our climate campaign objectives.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will be highly varied: one day you could be organising the logistics and agenda for a team planning or evaluation session; the next, developing a budget for a funding proposal; and the next, helping the Programme Lead prepare for an external presentation.
If this role sounds exciting and a good fit with your skill set and experience, we’d love to hear from you!

You’ll also need to be personally aligned with ShareAction’s values and mission. While we hope we’ll find someone with the majority of the skills and experience in the Job Description, we’re keen to hear from you, even if you don’t have them all. We appreciate that lots of skills are transferable and we welcome an open and honest discussion about how we might support you in any areas requiring further development.
We have a formal hybrid working policy in place. Given the central coordination role that this role will play, there is an expectation that you will be able to come into the office at least once a week to attend team meetings (scheduled on Tuesdays) and other meetings, as needed, with internal and external stakeholders.
What we will do for you
We are a fast-paced organisation that has grown substantially over the past few years. We recognise that our people work hard to advocate for responsible investment and drive meaningful engagement with those who have the power to create a brighter future. Every day they bring their expertise, passion and persistence to build a world where the financial system serves our people and planet. We want to ensure we provide the right environment for our colleagues to thrive and we are committed to improving our employee offer where possible.
Currently we are pleased to offer:
