Are you ready for an adventure-filled role that makes a real difference? As a Youth Development Lead, you can expect to spend four days a week outdoors, delivering life-changing programmes to vulnerable young people, rain or shine. With activities like bushcraft, paddling, climbing, and hill walking, you’ll use your skills to inspire confidence and build resilience. Your hands-on approach will help break down barriers and empower young people to reach their potential.
Ideal candidates will have experience working with vulnerable individuals and delivering outdoor learning programmes. While your week will be spent mostly delivering sessions outdoors, expect one day a week at a desk planning sessions and recording data. If you thrive in dynamic environments and are passionate about supporting young people through meaningful, adventurous experiences, we want to hear from you!

Specialist Behaviour Support Workers are responsible for supporting people with learning disabilities and behavioural needs to live full lives, develop skills, and maintain their wellbeing.
The Common Road Service is a CQC registered is a home for one customer with learning disabilities and Autism, and supported by staff two to one 24 hours 7 days a week we are looking to maintain a staff team with an excellent value base to support the customer to build his life and develop his skills as an independent person.
What you'll do:
- Supporting the customer to undertake a full timetable of preferred activities including art, visiting galleries, attending community groups, visiting local amenities, and introducing them to new activities to expand their horizons and networks.
- Developing the customer's independent living skills and involving them in all aspects of maintaining and developing their home, including cooking, shopping, cleaning, and decorating.
- Enabling the customer to keep up with the important people in their life and to meet new people with shared interests.
- Supporting the customer to communicate their wants and needs and communicating with them in a person-centred way.
- Supporting the customer to manage their anxieties and frustrations, using Positive Behaviour Support and Autism-specific approaches.
- Collating a range of behavioural data and essential paperwork to be analysed within our local management structure.

About you:
- Enjoys social interaction and the company of others, joins in local activities to encourage customer involvement
- Exudes a warm friendly presence and open behaviour

- Is fundamentally calm and resilient, does not let emotion adversely affect them or obscure their judgement
What you'll bring:
Essential:
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with customers with Autism/Challenging Behaviour/learning disabilities
- Driving licence and a willingness to drive as part of support duties
Desirable:
- Experience of facilitating creative activities for vulnerable adults

Calan DVS is one of the largest domestic abuse charities in Wales and we are committed to working in partnership to end domestic violence and abuse. Our staff are passionate about what they do and deliver much needed services to support some of the most vulnerable people in society.
Our service was formed in 2012 as a result of a merger between Neath & Lliw Valley Women’s Aid and since 2012, other Women’s Aid organisations have also joined the group including Brecknock Women’s Aid, Bridgend Women’s Aid and Ammanford Women’s Aid.

At Calan DVS, our vision is to work towards safe and resilient communities free from domestic violence and abuse. To achieve this, we aim to relieve the distress, suffering and poverty experienced by families exposed to domestic violence and abuse. We also aim to educate the public regarding the causes and effects of domestic abuse along with prevention methods
The Lotus Project:
The Lotus Project is a new service within Calan DVS which has been co-produced with survivors and stakeholders. The new service has been implemented to support individuals who are accessing Calan Domestic Abuse services and who have also experienced Sexual Violence.
The service will operate from a trauma informed, strengths based perspective in order to ensure each survivor has consistent yet individualised support throughout their recovery journey.
Each survivor who accesses the service will have the opportunity to receive specialist support through our Sexual Violence Counselling service, tailor made group work program and one to one support. Survivors will have regular strength based goal setting sessions with their Sexual Violence Support Worker.
Consultations and collaborative working are at the heart of working in a trauma informed way, therefore the Lotus Project will continue to be developed alongside the support staff and survivors who access the service.
