The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Fundraising Manager to grow support for our work in the UK and internationally.
You will lead the implementation of our 2026–2028 fundraising strategy, develop compelling supporter journeys and creating inspiring propositions that connect donors with the difference their generosity makes. Working closely with the CEO, Senior Management Team and Fundraising Committee, you will bring focus, energy and professional fundraising expertise to a charity with a loyal supporter base and significant potential for growth.
Key Details:
Location: UK (Flexible / Hybrid).There will be occasional in-person meetings/events in our London office or other specific venues, with flexibility to work where convenient (office or home) most of the time.
Hours: Part-time, 3 days per week (0.6 FTE), flexible / hybrid, with some with some flexibility over how hours are distributed across the week.
Salary: £37,000 – £43,000 FTE, pro rata (c. £22,200 - £25,800 for 3 days per week), depending on experience
Start Date: September (negotiable)

What You will do:
- Lead the delivery of HOPE worldwide UK’s fundraising strategy, with clear plans, priorities, KPIs and income targets.
- Develop a compelling case for support that inspires existing donors, re-engages lapsed supporters and reaches new and younger audiences.
- Design and deliver segmented supporter journeys across individual giving, regular giving, appeals and stewardship activity.
- Support the growth of sustainable income from high-potential streams including trusts and foundations, major donors, legacy giving, challenge events and corporate engagement.
- Work with programme colleagues to capture impact, develop strong donor reports and translate frontline insight into persuasive fundraising propositions.
- Oversee the effective use of the fundraising CRM, improving data quality, segmentation and insight-led decision making.
- Manage, mentor and encourage the Communications & Fundraising Team, creating clarity, focus and momentum.
- Ensure all fundraising activity is legal, ethical and compliant with the Code of Fundraising Practice, data protection requirements and internal policies.

Essential requirements:

CRM and Data: Confident user of a fundraising CRM, able to manage data, segment supporters and use insight to inform decisions.

Duties and key responsibilities
Challenge Event Support
- Provide day-to-day support to the Senior Challenge Events Officer across Sarcoma UK’s challenge events portfolio.
- Act as a point of contact for fundraisers participating in challenge events, responding to enquiries and signposting them to the right support.
- Support the delivery of the London Marathon, including stewardship and the setup of the Running Show and after party.
- Help administer the challenge events process, including registrations, deadlines, record-keeping and post-event evaluations.
- Assist with the organisation of event-day experiences, such as cheer stations and receptions, to support participants and celebrate their achievements.
- Help compile reports and evaluations for events within the challenge event portfolio.
- Support research into new challenge events to help grow the charity’s portfolio.
Communications
- Support the creation of challenge event content for online and offline channels, including the website, working with the Senior Challenge Events Officer and the Communications team.
- Help compile impact messages for fundraisers.
- Help gather fundraising stories, case studies and achievements to share with the Communications team.
Supporter Care
- Provide friendly, gold-standard support to challenge event fundraisers, helping them access the resources they need to maximise their fundraising and stay involved long term.
- Help deliver personalised stewardship journeys to support participants in meeting or exceeding their fundraising targets.
- Respond promptly to fundraising enquiries by post, email and telephone.
- Help ensure fundraisers receive timely recognition, including letters, certificates and impact updates as appropriate.
- Send fundraising materials and packs to supporters.
Administration and Compliance
- Maintain accurate supporter records using Sarcoma UK’s database (Raiser’s Edge).
- Help ensure Gift Aid is captured at every opportunity.
- Help monitor and manage event fundraising stock.
- Work in line with fundraising legislation, including GDPR, risk management, health and safety regulations, and the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Conduct.
Other
- Provide event support, which may involve occasional weekend or evening work.

Axial SpA is an inflammatory condition of the spine and joints. Inflammation where muscles attach to the bones causes extreme pain, and if left untreated, it can permanently fuse bones together. It's an invisible and misdiagnosed condition, often leaving people feeling powerless, in increasing pain and extreme exhaustion. We campaign policy makers for early diagnosis and better services, work with the NHS to get axial SpA identified and diagnosed quickly, and build an active community, online and through our local branches across the UK. We are with them all the way. Axial SpA may work silently. But we don't.
We are a small team, looking for a part-time Fundraising Assistant to work alongside our existing Fundraising Officer, with a focus on engaging our donors and supporters and acting as first point of contact for many of our fundraisers, alongside maintaining accurate records and administration that keeps our fundraising running smoothly. You'll support activity across our income streams as part of our internal Fundraising Board, alongside our CEO, Head of Fundraising and Fundraising Officer. About the role:

As our first Philanthropy and Major Gifts Officer, you will work closely with the Assistant Director of Fundraising to bring our new strategy to life, shaping how we engage major donors and grow a powerful community of supporters who are motivated to stand alongside Single Homeless Project (SHP) and our clients. Role Purpose
Responsible for helping to ensure the effective delivery of the Regional Fundraising strategy in relation to generating sustainable income from third parties and campaigns. You will primarily focus on recruiting support from community groups and associations, businesses and individuals across the North as well as supporting the growth and diversity of the challenge events portfolio.

· Build knowledge of Child Bereavement UK supporters in the area and develop a community of supporters who have a tangible relationship with our work

· Contribute to the development of annual income and expenditure budgets, monitoring results and contributing to regular reforecasts, mitigation and contingency planning to ensure budget is achieved.
· Attract new support and nurture and develop existing support by providing excellent stewardship to maximise supporter journey, value and retention and in-turn income.
· Work alongside the Head of Regional Fundraising and Challenge Event team to develop and promote successful and engaging off-the-shelf fundraising initiatives, campaigns, and challenge events to engage and encourage potential supporters, using research to spot trends and popular initiatives.
· Work collaboratively with the Challenge Event team and Communications team to develop and implement marketing and social media plans for all events/activities.
· Analyse the potential risks and benefits of fundraising events/activities considering risk, time/cost ratios, and overall ROI, to focus effort accordingly.
· Ensure all associated activities are compliant with charity law, regulatory requirements, and best practice, including Data Protection Act and GDPR.

Job Purpose:
To assist the Fundraising Manager in the delivery of our Fundraising Strategy and on-going development to achieve our fundraising priorities and targets. An exciting and varied role, we are seeking a strong team player, and someone with the confidence and initiative to help develop and grow charitable income. The post holder will be someone with a ‘can-do’ attitude and the enthusiasm to want to learn and get things done. We are a small, friendly and closely knit team of 20 skilled and highly committed staff and over 50 active volunteers.
The post-holder will work closely with the Fundraising Manager, and wider team to provide an engaging supporter journey and timely, efficient donor care to existing and new supporters of the Society. Responsible for helping the team meet our agreed income targets for celebratory giving, challenge events, community fundraising and corporate payroll giving initiatives.; the post-holder will be keen on developing their Fundraising career and interested in expanding their use of CRM databases, data management and the production of reports for effective donor stewardship.
You will be responsible for the membership and donors’ database (Beacon) keeping it up to date and reporting back on results, whilst ensuring data compliance and implementation of data. You will be highly proficient in the use of business IT systems in particular Microsoft Excel to analyse data, and you will also have at least one year’s experience, or equivalent, in producing detailed and insightful reports.
The post-holder will be a confident communicator and collaborator with proven relationship building and creative and innovative fundraising skills. You will also support the development of our fundraising communications, monitoring performance across all channels driving best practice and income growth. You will generate and develop engaging fundraising communications and be responsible for your own copywriting, including thanking our wonderful donors via the most appropriate communication channels.

Workload & Peak Periods
Our challenge calendar has natural peaks, and moderators must be prepared for increased activity during September-November and January-March. These months see higher participant numbers and more concurrent events, meaning more posts, questions and supporter interactions. In addition to these seasonal surges, the first and last day of every month are consistently the busiest, as participants start and complete their challenge.
We maintain a flexible, supportive team culture, and to keep this fairness and flexibility in place, moderators must be willing to work occasional bank holidays and be available on the first or last day of each month, when group activity is at its highest.
Working Pattern
Moderation takes place between 9am and 9pm, Monday to Sunday.
Rather than working in one continuous block, you’ll complete your hours in short check-ins across the day to maintain coverage and meet response time targets.
Each account is allocated a set number of ‘active moderation hours’ per day (e.g. 2-3 hours), which are spread across multiple sessions. For example, 3 hours may be split into 5-6 check-ins throughout the day.
