Make a Difference Every Day

We're looking for a Support Worker to join our Young People's Service, supporting 18-24-year-olds, including young people leaving care and those who have experienced homelessness.

This is a semi-independent housing service, meaning you'll provide support and guidance rather than personal care.

You'll help young people build confidence, develop life skills, and move towards independent living, making a real difference to their future.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting young people to achieve their goals and live independently
  • Completing support plans, risk assessments, and regular reviews
  • Helping with everyday life skills such as budgeting, cooking, cleaning, and managing a tenancy
  • Encouraging engagement with education, employment, training, and community services
  • Working with external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for young people
  • Keeping accurate records and maintaining safeguarding standards
  • Working both independently and as part of a supportive team

Why Join Peabody?

At Peabody, our values guide everything we do: Be Kind, Do the Right Thing, Love New Ideas, Celebrate Diversity, Keep Our Promises, and Pull Together.

You'll receive:

  • 25 days annual leave
  • Flexible benefits including healthcare, dental cover, and retail discounts
  • Up to 10% pension contribution and 4x life assurance
  • Learning and development opportunities, including funded apprenticeships

Shift Pattern

This role works on a 2-week rolling rota, including:

  • Weekday shifts
  • Approximately one weekend shift per week
  • Some Bank Holiday working
  • No sleep-ins required

Additional Information

  • Enhanced DBS check required
  • Full driving licence preferred but not essential
  • Travel to training in Houghton Regis and occasionally other Hertfordshire locations will be required

Ready to Apply?

Interviews will take place in person at the scheme on Wednesday 2 September 2026. Please note that interview slots are expected to last up to 2 hours.
