Job Title: Communications Manager
Location: Hybrid UK based with travel to London Office once a month.

Chance for Childhood has a vision of a world in which every childhood is filled with safety, belonging and play. We fight for children across Africa to lead independent lives through urgent action in education, health and economic resilience.
We work in four African countries (Ghana, the DRC, Rwanda, and Uganda) and we are carving out a niche as experts in inclusive education and safe spaces for children in vulnerable situations.
In 2022, we launched the #OverExposed campaign to advocate for ethical imagery and storytelling in the fundraising and marketing materials of international development charities. In 2025, the campaign is still going strong and providing opportunities to keep this important topic on the agenda in the development sector.
Your role.
As the Communications Manager, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering the charity’s communications strategy to raise awareness, increase engagement, and grow support for our vital work. You will manage all external communications across multiple platforms, including social media, website, email marketing, and events, ensuring a consistent and compelling brand voice. You will work closely with the Individual Giving Manager and Fundraising Officer to drive impactful campaigns. Additionally, you will play an essential role in promoting and protecting the charity's brand.

Duties:
1. Social Media and Content Creation:
- Plan, write, and schedule content for all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok), ensuring timely and engaging posts.
- Manage and monitor social media engagement, responding to comments and messages.
- Develop and implement a strategy for growing social media followers and increasing engagement.
- Create high-quality multimedia content (stories, infographics, videos) to support campaigns and events.
2. Website and Email Marketing:
- Oversee and manage content updates on the charity’s website, ensuring it is up-to-date, user-friendly, and SEO optimised.
- Write compelling blog posts, news stories, and case studies for the website.
- Work with the Individual Giving Manager to develop and manage email marketing campaigns, including newsletters, donor updates, and appeals, to drive engagement and donations.
- Use analytics tools to track and report on the performance of email and web campaigns, optimising content for better results.
3. Campaigns, Advocacy and Events:
- Collaborate with the Individual Giving Manager and Fundraising Officer to develop and execute communications strategies for fundraising campaigns and events.
- Support the promotion of Challenge Events through creative content and social media.
- Create campaign materials and event collateral, ensuring alignment with the charity’s brand.
- Advocate for ethical storytelling practices by leading our #OverExposed campaign aimed at other charities in the sector
4. Brand Management:
- Ensure all communications align with the charity’s brand guidelines and tone of voice.
- Act as a brand guardian, ensuring consistency across all marketing channels and materials.
- Work with external designers, photographers, and agencies as needed to produce high-quality branded materials.
5. Team Collaboration:
- Provide guidance, support, and feedback to enhance the confidence of local project teams to produce quality communications, in alignment with Chance for Childhood’s shifting power approach and broader 2030 strategy.
- Work with programme staff to gather key project updates and ensure a steady stream of impactful stories from our work to be used in fundraising and communications materials
- Collaborate with other teams across the organisation to support cross-functional projects and activities.
- Coordinate internal stakeholders including programmes, finance, fundraising and Trustees to oversee the writing, design and publication of the Annual Report
6. Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Regularly track and analyse communications and marketing metrics across all platforms, adjusting strategies based on performance.
- Provide reports on social media, website, and campaign performance to senior leadership.
Person Specification:
- Committed to the values of Chance for Childhood, including ethical storytelling and shifting power to local communities
- Motivated by working towards a wide range of positive outcomes for children in vulnerable situations, including facilitating access to physiotherapy and rehabilitation for children with disabilities, educational opportunities for displaced and conflict-affected children, and developing sustainable livelihoods for families in poverty
- Proven experience in a communications role, ideally in the charity or nonprofit sector.
- Strong copywriting skills with the ability to create engaging content across multiple platforms.
- Experience managing social media platforms, scheduling content, and growing engagement.
- Knowledge of website content management systems (WordPress) and SEO principles.
- Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp)
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Experience working on brand management and promotional campaigns.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and manage a remote team member.
Desirable:
- Experience working with international teams and understanding of crosscultural communication.
- Basic design skills (e.g., Canva,) for content creation.

Purpose of the job
The Education Programme at ELBA seeks to raise aspirations of young people, develop their business awareness, and support their employability competencies. Our work involves supporting secondary schools, colleges and universities, predominately through events bringing volunteers together from our corporate partners with local students to support the development of their employability skills and to raise aspirations. Working closely with ELBA’s corporate partners, the team engage students in various opportunities supporting Gatsby Benchmarks 5 & 6.
The role
This role will involve managing relationships with secondary schools, colleges, universities and ELBA corporate partner companies, providing vital support to coordinate and run events of varying scales throughout the academic year. This also includes supporting Mentoring Works, a programme that has been running since 1996 and connects Year 10 and Sixth Form/college students to volunteer business mentors working in the City and Canary Wharf. Taking the relationship lead for a number of our education institutions and corporate partners, the successful candidate will manage these relationships and ensure successful outcomes.
Job Description
Relationship Management
- Develop and manage strong relationships with education partners, this can include recruiting students for Mentoring Works and planning a calendar of events with Career Departments.
- Manage event requests from both education and corporate partners
- Run cross school projects throughout the year with multiple schools taking part
- Support the account management process of corporate partners by attending meetings with the wider account management team
- As a success indicator, consistently secure and maintain high satisfaction ratings from education and corporate partners, ensuring a positive experience for all stakeholders and volunteers.
Delivery
- Deliver projects and activities for educational institutions in line with the priorities and opportunities identified.
- Create and develop materials and resources, share best practice and design new programmes in line with changing priorities.
- Lead on development and delivery of group activities to support the Mentoring Works programme and feedback sessions with students
- Work proactively with CSR departments and other contacts within ELBA corporate partners to promote and enable delivery of projects/activities.
- Promote safety and wellbeing of students at all times and to follow ELBA’s safeguarding policies and have full regard of the policies of the schools and colleges engaged in ELBA programmes

Communication, reporting and evaluation
- All ELBA employees are required to use Salesforce as a record of activity. Training will be provided. Update Salesforce with all activity in line with agreed timescales, share updates with partners on activity.

- Regularly write case studies, newsletter stories to showcase the impact of the education programme
- As a success indicator, produce comprehensive annual impact reports for partner schools, colleges, and universities, translating activity data into actionable insights that demonstrate programme value and success.
General
- Represent and act as an ELBA ambassador at meetings, social events and functions when required

The Management Accountant plays a central role in ensuring that the Fair Education Alliance’s finances are accurate, well managed and clearly understood across the organisation. You will be part of a team bringing to life the story of National Lottery funding, telling impactful stories of how our grant funding supports amazing community-led projects that strengthen society and improve lives across the UK.
As our social media manager, you will be responsible for our social media channel strategies and footprint across the UK. You will work closely with colleagues across the media, communications strategy and marketing teams and the wider Fund, to ensure the delivery of powerful storytelling, engaging content and integrated campaigns across our social media channels. You will provide expert advice to colleagues and senior leaders across the Fund, advising on outputs, trends and insights.
You will have a strong understanding of current and emerging social media platforms, with sound knowledge of good practice trends in content creation and distribution. You will be a strong storyteller and a skilled content creator, with experience of delivering multi-channel social media campaigns.
You will be well-versed in using analytics and social listening tools to assess and continuously improve performance of our content and to ensure we are reaching our target audiences effectively. What you’ll do
Joining our small, high-energy team, you’ll play a key role growing our newest partner base and supporting primary school partners to make the most of the Unifrog platform and resources. Your key responsibilities:
Sell Unifrog subscriptions to primary schools

Design and deliver impactful prospecting campaigns and marketing collateral aimed at engaging potential new partners, tracking campaign performance and continually improving your approach to secure demonstrations and drive partnership growth.

Meet with potential partners on video calls (and sometimes in-person). Understand their priorities, demonstrate the Unifrog platform and resources, and secure their subscription.

Identify and attend conferences and events to promote Unifrog to primary school audiences, while networking and cultivating relationships for future partnership opportunities.

Develop a sound awareness of Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) and the PSHE Association Framework within the UK. You’ll need this to confidently navigate conversations with relevant contacts at primary schools.
Support primary school partners to make the most of Unifrog

Set up new partner schools for success. Help them to embed Unifrog across their staff, student and parent community. You’ll deliver an initial staff training session then provide ad-hoc support.

Proactively work to foster a sense of community amongst our primary school partners and think of ways to promote the sharing and embedding of Unifrog best practice between partners.

Achieve sky-high resubscription rates by securing partner renewals when their subscriptions come to an end.

Role Summary
The Outreach Manager is responsible for driving the expansion of the Schools Consent Project’s reach, engagement, and impact across London and the South East. Acting as the organisation’s lead “sales” and business development professional, you will contribute to and manage our strong pipeline of partner schools and organisations, convert leads into confirmed bookings, and maximise long-term engagement.

This post is responsible for Marketing & Communications for Gilbert White’s House & Gardens. You will plan, create and deliver an annual plan, working closely with departments, management and trustees.
The aim being to promote our visitor experience, events, education and trading activities, alongside a regular spotlight on our strategy, values and impact as a charity.
The focus of this role will be to increase our income generation and expand our voice in support of the natural world. This will be achieved through an increase in visitor numbers, event bookings, educational bookings, memberships, partnerships and increase in our trading income. When in post you will have the opportunity to be a key part of the implementation of our new strategy launched in this our 70th anniversary year. Key Responsibilities As a small independent museum this role offers an opportunity to take responsibility across all elements of the marketing and communication portfolio. This means that you will be hands-on in its delivery working closely with other departments to ensure a proactive and timely approach to developing, maintaining and boosting our image. In this stand-alone role you will primarily be responsible for:

The ‘Natural History of Selborne’ has been continuously in print since its first publication in 1789 and is reputedly the fourth most published work in the English language. He undertook his scientific observations in the small rural village of Selborne and this work has since inspired others to observe, enquire and record nature to understand the relationships that exist within our environment. Charles Darwin wrote that he ‘stood on the shoulders’ of White when he came on ‘a pilgrimage to Selborne’ as a young man in June 1857 David Attenborough wrote that Gilbert White was ‘A man in total harmony with his world.’ Introduction to Selborne, 1977 This unique historical manuscript is today housed in the home where Gilbert was born in 1720 and later lived for 66 years. The curation of this heritage home and its grounds was made possible by a generous donation from the Oates family, supporting a trust which purchased the property to establish a library and museum dedicated to natural history that opened in 1955.
The museum is now in its 70th year celebrating the lives of all three explorers of the natural world: Gilbert’s studies in Selborne in the 1700’s, Frank’s work in Africa and Central America in the mid-1800s and Lawrence’s famed contribution to the Scott expedition to the South Pole in 1912. Together they are celebrated through their original drawings, writings, specimens and artefacts housed in our galleries. They provide an insight over three centuries to the curiosity that contributed to our understanding of nature, our environment and the climate change we are currently witnessing. Today the UK is recognised as one of the least nature connected and most nature depleted countries in the world. Our renewed strategy is to ensure that the legacy that we curate is accessible, relevant, educational and inspirational for future generations. Key Responsibilities:

Experience and Skills
Essential Experience

ROLE OVERVIEW

In this role, you will manage book projects end to end - working closely with authors to understand and support their creative vision, guiding manuscripts through the writing and editorial process, and shepherding each title through production and release.

You will also provide regular progress updates to the Editorial Director and key stakeholders, helping to maintain clarity, momentum, and alignment throughout the publishing lifecycle.
