What we need from you

This is a highly flexible role, and you can choose how you’d like to get involved. Opportunities include:

• Face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping at fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, and monitoring collection tins
• Online fundraising – setting up online appeals and writing engaging cat case studies to maximise donations
• Marketing and promotion – spreading the word about fundraising activities via social media and local press
• Administration – processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, and completing Gift Aid paperwork

Our Fundraising Events Team are at the heart of what we do, raising essential funds for the cats. 

Our Fundraising Events Organisers share ideas, tasks and inspiration, planning and delivering local events, with the support of the Fundraising events helpers, such as Open Days (usually 2 per year) at the centre and our annual Christmas Bazaar. 

Time Expectation:  This role can be varied and time commitment can be flexible. 

Without volunteers, Cats Protection Berkshire Cat Centre simply wouldn't exist. Our amazing, friendly volunteers are a diverse group with a shared love of cats who fit volunteering around their home lives and personal commitments.

We're often looking to welcome new volunteers to join our brilliant team. As well as meeting great people and making an incredible difference to the cats of Berkshire.

Please note:  Although we do welcome everyone, unfortunately our centre is not set up to accommodate young volunteers under the age of 18, including those on the Duke of Edinburgh programme.

We're looking for a trustee with experience or knowledge of working within the criminal justice system. This is an important area of our work that isn't currently represented on our board.

Step Together Volunteering is a small but mighty charity. Through our unique, person-centred approach we support people to build the confidence and skills they need to look towards a positive future.

We work with young people, people in contact with the justice system, and the Armed Forces community, through 1-1 support, coaching and volunteering placements in the community. Our support doesn't have a time limit, we work with our clients until they have the confidence and skills they need to look forward to a more positive future.

We work nationally, our Head Office is Bristol, and our frontline staff are home-based in the regions they cover.

As a trustee, alongside your fellow board members you'll be responsible for the strategic leadership and administration of Step Together, and we're keen for you to contribute your perspectives and experiences to discussion. Alongside this, we'd specifically like you to:

• Provide expertise relating to the criminal justice system, and support to the rest of the Board and senior staff to ensure the charity operates a best practice model.
• Help identify opportunities for the charity to expand its work and impact within the criminal justice sector, including those funded by statutory and voluntary funders.
• Remain abreast of key developments within the criminal justice sector, ensuring these are brought to the attention of the rest of the Board and senior staff.
• Leverage support for the charity’s work (financial or otherwise) from your own networks and contacts where possible.
• Advise on implications of any current or planned projects within the criminal justice sector to aid good decision-making at board level.

What are we looking for?

Your experience will ideally have been gained through professional work in the Criminal Justice Sector. This could be through employment within the Prisons or Probation Service, other Ministry of Justice role, Youth Justice teams, Police, or with another charity or agency working in the sector.

Good networks within the justice system in the southwest would be advantageous. You will be knowledgeable about the criminal justice sector, the role the voluntary sector plays, and the challenges faced by the different organisations working in the sector.

Ability to work at a strategic level is essential.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about the work that we do, and someone who is happy to advocate for and represent the charity to key stakeholders to help further our work and impact.

Your knowledge and experience of the criminal justice system will help shape our strategic direction and decision-making in this important area of our work.

Our legal trustee has recently reached the end of her term, and we're now looking to find a new trustee who'd be happy to share their expertise with the board, and provide ad hoc advice to the CEO from time to time.

As a trustee, alongside your fellow board members you'll be responsible for the strategic leadership and administration of Step Together, and we're keen for you to contribute your perspectives and experiences to discussion. Specifically in relation to law, you may be asked to:

• Provide legal expertise and support to the rest of the Board and senior staff to ensure the charity complies with its duties and obligations.
• Ensure there are robust policies and procedures in place for legal and regulatory compliance.
• Liaise with senior staff on ad hoc legal matters to provide support and advice.
• Advise on legal implications of any plans or strategies to aid good decision making at Board level.

Trustees are appointed for an initial term of three years.

What are we looking for?

Your experience will ideally have been gained as a qualified lawyer (in any field, but those with knowledge and experience in employment law, company or charity law preferred).

Good networks within the Bristol area would be advantageous. You will be knowledgeable about the legal environment that charities operate in, including governance best practice, and be comfortable working at Board level, contributing to discussion and enhancing decision-making.

Tell My Truth and Shame the Devil C.I.C. is seeking a Founding Volunteer Analytics & Performance Officer to design and oversee the ethical performance framework that will guide our digital decision-making.

This is not a corporate analytics role.
It is an impact and accountability role.

Our C.I.C. exists to confront and expose the realities of childhood sexual abuse (CSA), centre survivor truth and accountability, support young people into economic empowerment, and build community-owned, open-source systems that serve people rather than capital.

About the Role

As our Founding Analytics & Performance Officer, you will design, coordinate, and maintain the C.I.C.’s digital performance and reporting systems during the build and early growth phase.

You will not inherit a finished analytics framework.
You will help build one that reflects our values.

Your work will ensure that data strengthens strategic decision-making across content, fundraising, and community engagement — while protecting confidentiality, dignity, and safeguarding standards.

This role requires both analytical rigour and ethical awareness. You must be comfortable interpreting data, communicating insight clearly to non-technical stakeholders, and ensuring responsible handling of sensitive information.

Experience Qualification and Requirements

Essential / Highly Valued Experience

• Practical experience working with digital analytics or performance reporting at organisational or project level.

• Experience using and interpreting analytics tools such as:

  • Website analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics or equivalent)

  • Social media insights

  • Dashboards, spreadsheets, or reporting tools

• Ability to track, analyse, and report on key performance indicators including engagement, reach, conversions, and sign-ups.

• Ability to translate data into clear, practical insight for non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity.

• Experience handling data responsibly, including awareness of confidentiality and ethical data use.

• Working knowledge of UK GDPR principles as they apply to digital performance data.

• Ability to manage multiple data sources and reporting requirements simultaneously.

• Confidence supporting teams with insight and recommendations without creating dependency.

• Equivalent professional or voluntary experience accepted.

Desirable / Can Be Developed

• Experience working in non-profit, CIC, or community-led organisations.

• Design, coordinate, and oversee the C.I.C.’s digital performance and analytics framework during the build and early growth phase.

• Develop and maintain a coherent performance measurement approach that supports strategic decision-making across teams.

• Ensure analytics practices reflect real organisational goals and values rather than vanity metrics.

• Establish consistent data collection and reporting standards across platforms.

• Oversee appropriate use of analytics and reporting tools.

• Apply UK GDPR principles including data minimisation, accuracy, and appropriate retention.

• Implement controls for sensitive data, including donor, supporter, and community engagement information.

• Ensure performance reporting remains accessible and understandable for volunteers with varied technical confidence.

• Work closely with Safeguarding, Fundraising, and Digital teams to ensure lawful and ethical use of performance data.

• Provide regular insight and recommendations to leadership.

• Help design the long-term analytics and reporting model for the C.I.C.

• Support transition planning from volunteer-led reporting systems to future funded roles.

You’ll need strong organisational and interpersonal skills, knowledge of safeguarding and data protection, and the ability to support a diverse, remote volunteer team.

Help deliver library books to people across Wolverhampton who are unable to access library services.

Role Responsibilities:

• Collect library materials from a designated library and deliver them safely to clients’ homes.

• Follow a set delivery route one day per week, with each session lasting a maximum of approximately three hours.

• Report any concerns about a client’s wellbeing to the Coordinator for further assessment.

About You:

• Hold a full, current UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) and have access to your own car (mileage expenses covered).

• Be friendly, approachable, positive, reliable, and punctual.

Commitment:

• Volunteer 1 day per week (hours agreed) for a minimum of 3 months.

Volunteer Placement Counsellor

We offer up to 16 sessions of individual online or telephone counselling to people who might find it hard to leave their homes, or their carers.

You will be on or have completed a Level 4 or above counselling course and have completed 50 hours of clinical experience or the equivalent.

You will be available to attend online supervision at 3.30pm Tuesday afternoons.  You will see a caseload of up to 3 clients online or over the telephone on either Mondays, Tuesdays or Thursdays. As this position is for online / telephone counselling, you will need access to a private and confidential working space, Wi-Fi, a private laptop and telephone. 

Wimbledon Guild Talking Therapies is accredited with BACP.

In return for your volunteering, you will receive free, online supervision, a full induction, and experience in a well-established counselling department in a London-based charity.

We’re not going to sugar-coat it, things aren’t great for working parents and pregnant women. It can feel frustrating and a bit depressing at times, but by being part of the Pregnant Then Screwed volunteer team, you get to turn that frustration into something positive. In the last year the fantastic volunteers on our Advice Line have spoken to over 5000 women and parents, collectively providing around 40 hours of free support and advice every week. Hundreds of women and parents call our Advice Line every day, but with a small team of volunteers we are only able to answer a fraction of those calls—this is where you come in.

We are looking for brilliant HR professionals who want to help Pregnant Then Screwed tackle the Motherhood Penalty by becoming a Volunteer HR Advisor.

Our Volunteer Advisors give around 1-2 hours a week of their time to the Advice Line. They use their HR knowledge to offer a kind, empathetic support and advice to help people to identify and challenge pregnancy and maternity discrimination in the workplace.

Time Commitment

The Advice Line is open Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm, with various available shifts during those times. We ask volunteers to give 1-2 hours per week on the Advice Line for a minimum of three months.

Main Role Purpose

The Advice Line HR Advisors play a vital role in providing support and guidance to working parents facing unfair treatment or discrimination in the workplace via our advice line. Volunteers will offer advice, listen empathetically, and provide information about employee rights and available resources. This role is critical in empowering parents to make informed decisions and navigate workplace challenges effectively.

Essential requirements

• Minimum CIPD level 5 Diploma in People Management with one professional reference.
• Knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and policies related to pregnancy, maternity leave, and discrimination.
• Access to a mobile phone/laptop/tablet to receive calls. You will not be charged for calls and your number will not be shared.
• Access to a reliable and secure WIFI connection. Public WIFI is not suitable for this role.
• Excellent active and empathetic listening skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey information clearly and concisely.
• A kind and welcoming telephone manner.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Comfortable using online communication tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer incoming phone calls to the PTS Advice Line from individuals seeking support and advice.
• Listen actively, empathise, and provide HR advice and guidance to support callers with their enquiries.
• Signpost to further information and other support organisations if necessary.
• Make referrals to our legal partner if required.
• Record all details of the call on our CRM system.
• Maintain professionalism in all interactions, adhering to all Pregnant Then Screwed guidelines and policies.
