About this role
This is an exciting role that will lead the relationship management of our most important, high value retail brands, without which our service could not be delivered. Supported by the Head of Events & Community Fundraising, you will work closely with the Partnerships Team and the Wardrobe Team to deliver essential client and events stock. In addition to delivering client and events stock, you will also focus on raising money from retail partners, particularly with activations linked to International Women’s Day and Giving Tuesday.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining a portfolio of retail brands, conducting excellent stewardship, bespoke tailored support, with a real understanding and insight into the challenges and opportunities within the retail sector, and an ability to influence and negotiate on the charity’s behalf.
We seek an excellent relationship manager, with strong written and verbal communication skills, an ability to influence senior stakeholders and exceed set targets. An understanding of women’s fashion would also be advantageous.

Our No Cold Child initiative with FatFace stepped in to address a stark statistic: over 150,000 children in the UK do not own a winter coat due to poverty. Through our trusted relationships with schools we distributed 10,000 warm, high-quality coats worth £600,000 to the children who needed them most. Winning the Business Charity Awards ‘Fashion & Retail’ Award, and shortlisted for two further awards, the campaign has been praised not just for providing warmth, but for restoring dignity, inclusion, and school readiness to thousands of children.
The All Dressed Up campaign—developed with World Book Day and Rubies Masquerade—confronted the often-overlooked issue of financial exclusion on key celebration days. More than 100,000 free dressing up costumes worth £1.34 million were delivered to children from low-income families. By enabling participation in events like World Book Day, we helped spark imagination, joy, and belonging for children who might otherwise feel left out—boosting self-esteem and supporting a positive connection to learning.Furthermore, helping attract children into school on a day which often sees struggling parents keep their children at home.
Alongside these national campaigns, Parentkind supports families year-round through a growing suite of programmes designed to inform, prepare and empower parents. Our Be School Ready programme offers crucial guidance and confidence to parents preparing their children for the leap into primary education. With a mix of practical advice, developmental tips, and reassurance, through the distribution of 150,000 copies of Be School Ready and an online campaign, it supports families at one of the most formative moments in their child’s life.
We also deliver a wide-ranging series of live expert webinars and parent-friendly resources, covering topics such as managing anxiety, supporting special educational needs, navigating school transitions, and building home-school partnerships. These resources, developed in consultation with experts and rooted in lived parent experience, equip families to feel informed and empowered, no matter what challenges arise.
Our direct support of schools
Our collaboration with Asda on Cashpot for Schools is another example of unlocking support at scale. This innovative community-led funding model allowed shoppers to nominate and fund their local schools simply through everyday spending. This campaign has generated £5.78 million for schools during the past twelve months, supporting everything from basic classroom supplies to vital extracurricular programmes and pupil wellbeing initiatives. Also shortlisted for a Business Charity Award, it is already a model for community-driven philanthropy.
In April, we launched our Parent-Friendly Schools Accreditation Programme, designed to formally recognise schools that go above and beyond in fostering positive, inclusive relationships with parents. The accreditation celebrates schools that actively listen to parent voices, make engagement easy and accessible, and embed family partnership in their culture. It is a practical and inspiring tool to drive long-term change in the sector and offers a roadmap for schools wanting to strengthen their community.
Our focus on Policy & Research
Our work is grounded in evidence. Since 2023, we have conducted the UK’s largest annual parent survey: the National Parent Survey. With approaching 6,000 participants providing 130,000 bits of data to provide invaluable insights into the struggles, concerns, hopes and fears of parents. The findings are fed directly into government consultations and have already informed national debates on school funding, attendance, mental health support, SEND provision, and curriculum reform.
In each of the past two years the number of policymakers, educators, parents and researchers accessing the National Parent Survey exceeded seven thousand, and the survey featured in more than two hundred media outlets each year.Excitingly, the Times & Sunday Times are partnering with Parentkind to raise the profile even further in September 2025 and the survey will be launched at a lighthouse event featuring the Secretary of State for Education (Bridget Phillipson), the Ofsted Chief Inspector of Schools (Sir Martyn Oliver), the CEO of Mumsnet (Justine Roberts), the Children’s Commissioner (Dame Rachel De Souza), and our own Chief Executive (Jason Elsom).

Main purpose and scope of this role:
With guidance from the Head of Corporate Partnerships, you will identify, secure, and manage new corporate partnerships to fund Parentkind's mission.
You will build and maintain a new business pipeline to support a sustainable corporate partnerships income stream, targeting a wide range of partnerships (including COTY, corporate grants, commercial and strategic relationships) with regional and national businesses with the capacity to support at a 5,6, and 7-figure level.
You will carry out prospect cultivation, develop tailored proosals and pitches, and manage corporate partner relationships to secure excellent supporter experiences.
By collaborating with key internal stakeholders and securing approirate partnership opportunities, you will enhance support for parents, schools, children and young people.
Duties and key responsibilities
New Business
- Identify and research prospective corporate partners who align with Parentkind’s mission; complete due diligence and compile reports and partner profiles.
- Planning: proactively plan and drive tactical and timely approaches to potential partners.
- Proposal development: produce high‑quality proposals, applications and pitches to secure financial contributions from corporate partners.
- Lead management: respond promptly to new‑business leads, delivering excellent relationship management from initial contact to formal partnership.
- Resource development: contribute to the development and maintenance of key resources for fundraising activities.
- Community Team contribution: contribute to the Community Team’s fundraising initiatives for PTA members.
Partnership Management
- Account management: oversee and manage relationships with selected corporate partners in Parentkind’s portfolio.
- Partnership planning: create and deliver comprehensive, bespoke plans for each partnership, considering all financial and non‑financial opportunities to generate support and mutual value.
- Regular communications: hold regular meetings with partners to ensure partnership objectives are on track; propose compelling partnership content and campaigns.
- Impact reporting: create compelling reports for partners that demonstrate the impact of their contributions and support renewals.
- Coordination of contributions: coordinate gift‑in‑kind/pro‑bono contributions from partners in collaboration with internal teams.
Relationship Management
- Relationship building: cultivate relationships with prospects, developing tailored engagement strategies and keeping key contacts informed of our work.
- Partnership agreements: negotiate clear, mutually understood and appropriate contracts with new corporate partners.
- Network utilisation: leverage organisational networks for introductions and referrals; collaborate with the Head of Corporate Partnerships on network mapping; identify links to target organisations and engage key stakeholders for introductions, referrals and nominations.
- Representation: represent Parentkind at events and networking opportunities.
- Internal collaboration: foster positive relationships across the organisation, ensuring fundraising activities align with the charity’s needs and priorities.
Managing systems
- CRM management: maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records on Parentkind’s CRM (Salesforce), tracking all corporate partnerships activity.
- Monitoring and reporting: contribute to regular monitoring and reporting on corporate partnerships.
- Process management: manage internal processes related to corporate partnerships, including use of third‑party platforms.
- Record keeping: maintain and communicate detailed records of corporate partnerships activities to inform future planning and strategy.
- Finance processes: ensure all corporate partnerships income is accurately coded, allocated and reconciled in line with agreed finance processes.
- Process improvement: contribute to the development of effective processes and systems for managing corporate fundraising activities.
General responsibilities
- Ensure Data Protection procedures are followed at all times.
- Stay informed on relevant issues, educational policy and legislation affecting key audiences.
- Be flexible within the remit of the post and undertake other duties as reasonably requested by senior leadership.
- Contribute to Fundraising Department planning, reporting and cross‑team projects.

ROLE PURPOSE:
The Director of Fundraising and Communications is a member of the Executive Team. This is ShelterBox's most senior management team, with overall responsibility for leading, planning and managing the work and development of ShelterBox.
You will be responsible for the delivery of our current 5 year organisational strategy 2022-27 as well as the implementation of the departmental Fundraising and Communications strategy, driving continued ambitious growth in our reach, engagement and fundraising. You will also play a leading role in driving the development of the next 5-year strategy for 2027 onwards.
You will work with the wider organisation and stakeholders to represent Fundraising and Communications and ensure the team are supported and able to thrive.
This is a role for a dynamic senior fundraising and communications specialist, who will bring significant experience within the sector. Working collaboratively across the organisation, you will develop and implement a strategy that builds foundations for growth and drives a bold and confident ShelterBox of the future. You will take full accountability for the successful delivery of income forecasts and expenditure budgets. You will work with the team to deliver best in class communications across our channels, reach new audiences and grow unrestricted income through digital and offline acquisition, oversee the strategic growth of our philanthropy and partnerships programme, support our strategic partnership with Rotary, and ensure that the ShelterBox brand is optimised to ensure we stand out in a crowded market.
You will also be responsible for understanding the needs and ambitions of the ShelterBox network of affiliates (in Europe, North America and Australasia), seeking to understand the strategies and tactics that will drive global income growth. You will recommend where investments by ShelterBox Trust can support global fundraising into the future.
You will be a proven, highly effective communicator with an empowering management style and the ability to quickly build relationships. A personal desire to invest in your teams with limited resources is essential. Creativity, commitment and best practice implementation are key.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are seeking a highly experienced fundraising and communications expert, who has a passion for storytelling and building impactful relationships. You must be able to hit the ground running, have a strong record of developing and leading successful teams by building highly effective relationships. This role is all about inspiring leadership, strategic innovation, and maximising every opportunity to grow our vital work.
Experience and understanding of the humanitarian sector is desirable, as is an understanding of current fundraising opportunities and challenges, ethical storytelling and communication trends. This includes an understanding of the competitive fundraising environment in the sector, following announcements by some government donors. The need for emergency shelter around the world is vast and growing daily. This role must understand and drive ambitious and effective ways to communicate our specialist focus on shelter and the tangibility of our offer to current and future supporters.
The role will support the Fundraising and Communications department to deliver 2025/2026 plans, as well as implement the longer-term fundraising and communications strategy, seizing all opportunities in an ever-changing landscape.
As well as leading the UK team, working with colleagues from different countries to grow international fundraising, requires excellent communication skills and a commitment to a long-term diplomatic approach.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for the wider cultural context that affects our supporter's lives and behaviours. You will be results oriented and be confident using data and insight to inform decision making and drive our fundraising to the next level. As a senior team leader and people manager at ShelterBox
- Actively demonstrate the importance of staff development in line with ShelterBox's policies and procedures, for example by undertaking regular 1:1 meetings with direct reports and investing in performance management.
- Model ShelterBox's values through behaviours and leadership and build on what is a great senior leadership team in the Fundraising and Communications Department

The Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager will play a central role in growing high-value income streams and building meaningful relationships with individuals, corporates, and grant-making bodies. Managing a small team and working closely with senior leaders and NHS stakeholders, you will develop and drive forward an ambitious programme of philanthropic fundraising to support the work of Sheffield Hospitals Charity. You will be joining us after the conclusion of the Master Cutler’s Challenge 2025, during which we have developed new relationships with corporates and individuals across the city. In recent months we have appointed a Trusts and Foundations Officer – who you will line-manage – who has a sound pipeline and projects to fundraise for. We also aim to bring in more capacity to this team over the coming 6-12months, to support with corporate and high value individual relationships. As our PA to the Directors of Strategic Partnerships and Performance & Insight you will play a proactive and central role in enabling effective leadership and operational delivery across two high-impact departments and work closely with both Directors, senior stakeholders, project teams, and administrative colleagues to drive sustainable change.
In this role, you will:
- Proactively provide executive support to both Directors, anticipating needs, and managing diaries and preparing high-quality materials for internal and external engagement.

Requirements
To be successful, you will need:
- Significant experience as a PA or high-level administrator in a complex organisational setting, with a proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver under pressure.
- A proactive, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused approach, with excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong collaboration and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and build effective working relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience drafting high-quality briefing papers, presentations, and correspondence on behalf of senior leaders.
Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have:
- Experience in the charity or international development sector.

About the Role
Working closely with the Chief Executive and senior leadership team, you'll lead the development and delivery of a bold, creative and high-performing fundraising and communications strategy to generate £1.4m annually.
You'll grow and nurture a portfolio of committed individuals and local businesses (founder patrons). You'll also build new income streams across trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, and major donor giving.
At the same time, you'll oversee all things brand, PR and communications, with a talented Communications Manager in place to help you raise awareness and build strong community relationships ahead of launch and beyond.
This is a leadership role with legacy. You'll inspire Barnsley's business community, philanthropists and champions to believe in and back the potential of their town's young people.

Role Description:
Prospect Research & Lead Generation
· Conduct comprehensive desk-based research to identify new grant, trust, and foundation funding opportunities.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People has been creating life-changing partnerships between hearing dogs and deaf recipients since 1982. As well as acting as an ear to their partners and alerting them to sounds, the charity’s clever and expertly trained dogs help deaf people to live life with confidence and independence, whilst providing love, companionship and emotional support.
Following on from a strategic review, the charity is now looking to build a new Income Generation Directorate, to enable them to transform many more lives across the UK. This role will be critical to help Hearing Dogs reach their goals to diversify income, expand their portfolio and accelerate income from mission-aligned businesses.
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Partnerships, this role will take a lead on nurturing existing partnerships and developing new ones, with a specific focus on increasing income through employee engagement and payroll giving schemes.
