We are looking for a Head of Philanthropy who will lead our fundraising strategy in Central England. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a successful Major Giving team at The King’s Trust, within the wider Philanthropy directorate, enabling us to grow our support for young people across the region. This is an exciting time to join The King’s Trust with our upcoming 50th anniversary, with an ambition to raise £150m, and our recently launched new 5-year strategy.
You will be a confident and driven self-starter who works well with others, spots opportunities and enjoys a fast-paced environment. You will be working with philanthropic supporters in Central England who have a bespoke relationship with The King’s Trust. These supporters may be funding specific areas of our work, co-collaborating on programmes or involved in supporting strategic projects. An ability to connect with high-level supporters and build trust, confidence and commitment is essential.
Most importantly, you must believe in The King’s Trust’s work, live our company values, and fit within our team’s positive, supportive, and collaborative culture. This role covers the whole of the Midlands, East Anglia, and Essex. You will be based in our Birmingham Centre and will visit our Delivery space at Nottingham University regularly too. You must be prepared to travel across the region as required. This role will also include line management of one team member, who will be based in Wales. We have a hybrid way of working, and you will be expected to be in the office 40-60% of the time.

ROLE SUMMARY
It is an exciting time to join the team, with income growing year on year and an increasing awareness of our brand through activities such as the recent Radio 4 Charity Appeal. We have ambitious plans and the Head of Fundraising will make a significant contribution to future growth; you will manage the Fundraising and Events team with oversight of income generation from various sources including major donors, individuals, trusts & foundations and a portfolio of events.
The role will suit innovative individuals with experience of fundraising from major donors and at least one of the other specified income streams, and event planning or project management.
You will represent upReach externally, acting as an ambassador for our work and building strategic relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders. You will be accountable for income targets, developing the fundraising strategy and identifying new opportunities.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Head of Fundraising will contribute to upReach's mission by meeting financial targets, recognising when to make the fundraising ‘ask’ and leading the annual budget process. You will use clear, creative written communication to produce convincing cases for support, represent the charity at relevant networking events, work closely with the upReach Development Board and act as an ambassador for the organisation.
Reporting to the Director of Income Generation and External Engagement you will manage three direct reports and support individuals participating in the Future Charity Leaders Programme (upReach’s graduate scheme). You will work closely with the Head of Partnerships, CEO, Programmes and Finance teams and other colleagues across the income generating and external engagement team.
The core responsibilities include:
Leadership and strategy

Lead fundraising and philanthropy to realise financial targets (2025/26: £2.45m).

Collate and present timely monthly management reports for each income stream.

Lead the annual budget and financial forecasting processes to facilitate reporting and strategic-decision making.
Working with stakeholders (internal and external)

Collaborate with colleagues to identify and secure all various income generating and profile raising opportunities, ensuring maximum impact and contribution from funders.

Lead, champion and model a culture of outstanding donor stewardship and supporter care; including best practice and behaviour.

Develop and foster effective relationships with key external contacts at all levels, e.g. donors, supporters, suppliers.

Make the fundraising ‘ask’ as and when appropriate, or support others to do so.

Respond promptly to requests for information and action from supporters.

Report and disseminate the key issues to emerge from supporter feedback.

Manage the complaints procedures for the department and conduct full investigation of all complaints received by the department.
Developing, maintaining systems and procedures

Determine and manage the operating systems needed to deliver activity and enable effective donor, supporter and volunteer relationship management.

Ensure records in the CRM are up to date.

Conduct analysis of data from across functions responsible for, drawing conclusions, making recommendations to the Director.

Recruit and lead the Fundraising team, rotatees and volunteers as required.

Major Donors and Individuals

Develop and implement fundraising strategies to grow income, including an annual appeal.

Work with the CEO, nurture relationships with donors including high net worth individuals maintaining the highest level of donor care.

Research, identify and engage prospective donors to secure 5 and 6 figure gifts.

Lead the team to grow and develop the burgeoning major donor portfolio.

Work with the Alumni Team to identify opportunities to sustainably grow the individual giving pipeline, including beneficiaries.

Develop a legacies strategy and oversee delivery of awareness campaigns.
Events

Lead the team on the delivery of a sector-leading events portfolio, to include income-generating events, and the Student Social Mobility Awards (SSMA’s).

Engage, steward and motivate key stakeholders including the Development Board, Patrons, potential event committee members and other high value volunteers to grow our network and deliver successful fundraising events.
Trusts, Foundations & Corporates

Oversight of Trusts, Foundation & Corporate fundraising strategy.

Work with the Senior Fundraising Manager to identify and build relationships with Companies, Trusts and Foundations which are mission and/or programme aligned.

Collaborate with the Head of Partnerships to build strategic relationships with companies that grow philanthropic and commercial income.

Support the acquisition of new, multi-year philanthropic funders and existing donors.

About the Role

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Internal Audit to establish and lead a new, independent internal audit function at MAP. Reporting functionally to the Audit & Risk Governance Committee and administratively to the CEO, this role provides high-level assurance on the effectiveness of MAP’s governance, risk management, and control frameworks across both UK and international operations.

About You

The role
Sustrans is the UK’s leading active travel organisation, working to make it possible for people across society to walk, wheel and cycle. We have a new strategy for the next five years, a key strand of which is to unlock active travel in new housing developments, and we are recruiting a Head of New Developments to lead this work.
This is a new position in which you will draw on your experience in the housing delivery sector to grow Sustrans’ contribution to the creation of new communities that have active mobility at their heart. As well as leading our influencing work aimed at organisations in housing delivery, you will develop and promote an offer to partners, drawing on Sustrans’ existing infrastructure, behaviour change and advisory services. You will connect with, inform and inspire professionals and decision makers involved in delivering new homes to adopt the actions required to increase active travel in their developments. Through collaboration with our Commercial team and subject experts across Sustrans, you will develop a pipeline of funded work from public, private and third sector organisations, ultimately enabling more households to walk, wheel or cycle for their day-to-day journeys.
The role can be based in any Sustrans office and will involve frequent in-person meetings and site visits, particularly (but not exclusively) in the Midlands and South of England.
About you
You’ll have significant experience contributing to the delivery of new developments through work for or with organisations such as developers, housing providers, consultancies, local authorities or government. We’re looking for applicants with a professional network in housing delivery, and significant experience securing new commissions from and/or influencing organisations involved in delivering new developments. You’ll have a strong understanding of the development process, including the spatial planning system, and of the roles of the parties involved in delivering new developments, the power dynamics between them, and the opportunities and appetite each has for taking action to increase active travel. Naturally, you’ll have deep knowledge of the challenges, opportunities and hot topics in housing delivery – for new towns, urban extensions and urban intensification schemes.
You’ll have exceptional external-facing leadership skills, and be a strategic, creative thinker, able to solve problems and convert new ideas into practical actions. Your outstanding communication skills will enable you to engage with stakeholders at a senior level, including on contentious subjects and on high-profile projects. You’ll have strong business acumen to secure new commissions and deliver effectively for clients, and the skills to influence decision-makers.
You’ll have experience of engaging meaningfully with communities to ensure that new developments respond to the challenges and aspirations of local residents and stakeholders. And you’ll have good knowledge of how active travel can be embedded into new developments to maximise the number of routine journeys that are walked, wheeled or cycled.

This role directly aligns with these strategic plans, to refine and use innovative participatory research centring lived experience, share and amplify insight from people with experience of homelessness, and increase our campaigning activities to change systems and break down the barriers that stand in people’s way to a healthier life and more hopeful future.
This role has been created on an interim basis to assess its impact and effectiveness, with a key focus on reviewing the priorities, progression and support of our Research Team and making recommendations for the future regarding this new role. Girls Not Brides: The Global Partnership to End Child Marriage is seeking a Head of Finance to join its team based in London, UK. The successful individual will lead on strategic financial planning and financial day to day management at Girls Not Brides to advance our business model, financial sustainability and growth. The role ensures effective financial functions across the organisation, manages compliance with UK and overseas regulatory requirements, and works closely and hands on with other teams to oversee the preparation of proposals and budgets for prospective grants.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for a passionate, talented senior finance professional with at least 5 years post qualified experience. You will have experience working in a similar senior-level finance role in the not-for-profit sector, international/intergovernmental organisation or social enterprise. You will have qualified and hold membership in a recognised professional accountancy body. Your qualification and experience will ensure you hold an advanced understanding of the principles underpinning financial management and planning, with significant all-round accounting, financial management, full grants cycle management, compliance, risk and financial sustainability experience. You will be experienced in year-end reporting and proficient in engaging with statutory and other auditors. Ideally you will bring experience gained in a similar international charity, working in a multi-currency environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Leadership
· Lead on strategic financial planning and financial management at Girls Not Brides to advance the organisation’s business model, financial sustainability, and growth through long-range financial projection and planning, maximisation of income, and strong financial reporting.
· Ensure that financial planning feeds into the organisation’s work planning process and supports the strategic objectives of the organisation.

· Work with the Development & Outreach Team, the Senior Finance & Grants Officer and the Senior Coordinator for Grants to oversee preparation of proposals and budgets for prospective grants.
· Supervise the preparation of all financial grant reporting, ensuring that the Development & Outreach team receive accurate and timely information for effective grant and donor management and compliance.
· Maximise cost-recovery from grants through strong financial planning and cost analysis processes, to ensure financial viability of projects and grant agreements.
· Provide support to, and build capacity of, other teams to support grant compliance as necessary.
· Review, and as needed negotiate, the legal and financial provisions of grant agreements.
· Oversee and ensure all received grants are promptly recorded and acknowledged, as well as paid out and reported on in accordance with donor requirements.
· Achieve timely, effective and clean external grant audits.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential experience
· ACA/ACCA/CCAB/CIMA qualified.
· Significant professional post-qualified experience in a similar senior-level finance role in the not-for-profit sector, international/intergovernmental organisation or social enterprise
· Degree-level qualification in a relevant area such as accounting, finance or business administration, or equivalent professional experience.
· Up-to-date knowledge of relevant UK charity statutory requirements e.g. SORP, Charity Accounting, IFRS/IAS.

By building an inclusive and evidence-based audience strategy, this role will enable Winchester Science Centre to grow reach and engagement, deepen impact and fulfil its charitable mission to inspire a lifetime of curiosity in science.
The role is part of the Commercial Operations team led by the Chief Operating Officer and will work closely with the Head of Programming and Head of Visitor Experience. However, you will work with the wider leadership and their teams to ensure that both the community programme and on-site experience are insight-led, responsive to audience needs, and relevant to a wide range of segments. It plays a key role in championing access, equity and inclusion across all areas of the Charity’s work.
As we embark on a chapter of significant growth, you will play a pivotal role in identifying the audiences and ensuring they sit at the heart of our decision making. You will work with key stakeholders across the business, including our Children’s Voice, to ensure the Charity can achieve its commercial and impact objectives. At the heart of that conversation is a deep understanding of our audiences through geo-demographic and / or psychographic audience segmentation, that you will lead on.
You will lead a small team, with the potential for growth, comprising a Marketing Officer and a Digital Content and Brand Producer. Together, you will be responsible for driving bold, creative campaigns that are grounded in audience insight, developing engaging content across all channels, and supporting the evolution of our brand to reflect the diversity and ambition of our mission. As the team grows, you will shape its direction, nurture talent, and ensure alignment between strategy and delivery across all audience touchpoints.
2. Job Description
Key Responsibilities
· Lead the organisation’s audience strategy, embedding a data-led approach that informs programme development, marketing and wider organisational planning and offer.
· Lead the audiences' team to deliver high impact campaigns that delivers on organisational objectives and visitation targets, that contributes to the continued brand development of Wonderseekers and Winchester Science Centre.
· Use your expertise in audience segmentation to design, shape and oversee the delivery of multi-channel marketing strategies that maximises return on investment and successfully drives visitation and audience engagement targets.
· Gather, analyse and communicate audience insight using internal data, commissioned research and external benchmarking to build a shared understanding of current and potential audiences.
· Develop strategic campaigns to deliver audience growth with a focus on breadth (reach), depth (repeat engagement), equity (inclusive access) and impact (positive change).
· Collaborate with the Head of Programming to ensure audience needs, motivations and barriers directly inform the content, tone and timing of all programmes.
· Collaborate with the Development team to identify and align target audiences for new exhibitions and experiences.
· Collaborate with the fundraising team to ensure audience alignment for fundraising activities.
· Champion a culture of audience-centred decision-making across the organisation, ensuring all teams understand and use segmentation to shape their work and programmes.
· Provide actionable insight to the marketing team to refine messaging, campaign targeting, content tone and channel strategy by segment.
· Work in partnership with the Head of Visitor Experience to ensure audience insight and segmentation inform all aspects of the on-site experience including welcome, signage, wayfinding, service tone, flow and accessibility.
· Ensure programme, marketing and visitor experience are aligned to deliver a coherent, satisfying and inclusive journey for every audience group.
· Evaluate the audience experience across all touchpoints, using qualitative and quantitative feedback to support continuous improvement and operational learning.
· Contributing with the Head of Equity, Community, and Outreach to access and inclusion planning, ensuring physical, cultural and digital barriers are identified and addressed through evidence and audience consultation.
· Lead the piloting and testing of new engagement approaches, using segmentation insight to design and evaluate innovative offers across programme and experience.
· Collaborate with the Head of Digital Infrastructure and our web developers to ensure CRM, ticketing and digital platforms support effective tracking, evaluation and personalisation by audience segment
· Build internal capability by supporting colleagues to interpret and apply audience insight in their own work across programming, schools, visitor experience and marketing.
· Report regularly to the Executive Leadership Team and Board, sharing insight on audience trends, performance, and opportunities for future growth.
· Represent the organisation externally at relevant stakeholder events, networks and sector forums to share learning and maintain visibility.
· Manage the department budget effectively, ensuring resources are allocated to maximise insight, impact, engagement, and visitation.
· Actively participate in senior leadership meetings and planning processes, ensuring key audience insight is integrated into organisational decision-making.
· Any other reasonable tasks commensurate with the position.
Special Circumstances
There may be occasional work, meetings and events in evenings, early mornings and at weekends which will be compensated by time off in lieu. Additional overtime would be arranged only with agreement of both the employee and line manager. Occasional travel may be required.
3. Person Specification
Essential skills and experience
- Significant experience in using geo-demographic and / or psychographic audience insights in a cultural, visitor attraction or charitable setting to drive visitation and engagement.
- Expertise and experience in developing and applying segmentation models to inform marketing, visitor experience and programming strategies.
- Demonstrable experience in leading, creating and delivering audience-led marketing campaigns that have achieved significant step changes in engagement, visitation or other key performance outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to turn complex data into actionable strategy and influence decision-making across teams.
- Experience in co-creating programmes or campaigns with diverse or underserved audience groups.
- Strong understanding of evaluation and impact measurement tools (e.g. surveys, focus groups, behavioural data, CRM analytics).
- Confident working across multiple departments and building organisational capability in audience understanding.
- Strong facilitation, presentation and reporting skills.

About the Role
The Head of Rough Sleeping Services will lead our services in our centre based at 12 Adelaide Street. The core purpose of these services is to minimise the harm associated with rough sleeping and support people into treatment and accommodation options. This will include Centre Services, our Community, Street Engagement and case work teams. You will also lead the delivery of any short-term emergency accommodation including SWEP and hotel provision.
This opportunity comes at a particularly exciting time as the Connection looks to ambitiously develop our work at Adeliade Street into a hub of harm reduction and health inclusion for people rough sleeping in Westminster. As the Head of Rough Sleeping Services, you will lead the exciting strategic and operational work to deliver this, and have the chance to be part of a centre that aims to be a nationally recognised example of innovative practice.
The role requires someone with a strong track record in service delivery with people who have complex needs. They must have experience of trauma informed care and similar associated practice. Alongside ensuring high quality service delivery, they must have experience of developing new approaches, building relationships with statutory services and working with fundraising specialists to secure resources. The Head of Rough Sleeping Services will be a well organised and focused manager who uses coaching techniques to develop their team. Finally, they must be a positive role model with the personal credibility to build confidence in the charity both internally and externally.
