Community Training and Volunteer Administrator

East Anglian Air Ambulance is a regional charity that provides life-saving care across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and beyond. With two state of the art helicopters and a fleet of rapid response vehicles taking our crew of critical care paramedics and doctors to the scene of the incident, to provide advanced pre-hospital emergency medical care (PHEM). 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Community Training and Volunteer Administrator to join our life-saving charity. 

About our Community Training Programme: 

Since 2018 East Anglian Air Ambulance has been delivering lifesaving Community CPR and Defibrillator training sessions to over 100,000+ children and adults, but we need to train more people to save more lives across East Anglia.  

Every year approximately 11,000 people suffer a cardiac arrest in the East of England. Around 70% of those who suffer a cardiac arrest receive any form of bystander CPR before the arrival of the ambulance service, however, less than 20% have a defibrillator deployed before emergency services arrive.   

The cardiac arrest survival rate in the UK is only around 9%, but if a defibrillator is used alongside effective CPR within the first 3-5 minutes, the chances of survival can increase between 40% - 70%. 

About the role: 

As Community Training and Volunteer Administrator, you will provide excellent administrative support to EAAA's Community Training and Volunteering Team, helping to coordinate our flagship Community CPR and Defibrillator Training programme for schools, community groups and organisations across East Anglia.

You will manage a busy training calendar and coordinate Community CPR Training bookings and enquiries, ensuring all participants and supporters receive the highest standards of customer service. You will also oversee the logistics of our training equipment, ensuring resources are available in the right place at the right time to support training delivery.

You will ensure all CPR and AED training sessions are accurately recorded on our volunteer management system and will support and guide new and existing CPR volunteers throughout their recruitment and onboarding journey.

To be successful in this role, you will have strong administrative and IT skills, experience of using CRM systems, and excellent communication skills. You will be confident engaging with a diverse range of people and committed to delivering an outstanding supporter experience.

This is a vital role in ensuring our training participants, volunteers and supporters have a positive experience with EAAA and our community training programmes. Ultimately, your work will contribute to improving outcomes for patients experiencing cardiac arrest across East Anglia and help save more lives.

About You

We are looking for a proactive and conscientious finance professional with strong organisational skills and a commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement.

You will bring:

• A degree, finance qualification or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience working in a finance, accounting or operational finance environment.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations and financial controls.
• Experience using finance systems such as Xero and strong Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• A collaborative and service-focused approach, with strong communication skills.
• High levels of integrity and professionalism when handling sensitive financial information.

Experience within a charity, foundation, grant-making or not-for-profit environment would be advantageous, but is not essential. Experience of treasury activities, cashflow management or international payments would also be beneficial.

The role

Family Fund is recruiting a Marketing Communications Specialist to join our busy in-house Communications Team and bring our brand to life with sharp writing skills, a honed news sense and the ability to create high performing content across wide-ranging channels.

This is a vital role to grow our brand profile and reach with targeted audiences - crafting stand-out key messages and campaigns.

The work is varied, you could be publicising our grants and services for families, driving donations for our fundraising campaigns, raising awareness of our research or influencing our policy and public affairs priorities.

You’ll work with wide-ranging internal clients across multiple projects and will be making a difference every day to families raising disabled and seriously ill children on a low income.

About you

You’ll be a strong writer, able to tailor approaches to different audiences and work across the full channel mix. You can have either an in-house or agency background, and we’re looking particularly for a track record in creativity and the ability to confidently devise and deliver high-quality news stories, campaigns and wider content with real impact.

You’ll need to have experience across online and offline communications and marketing, from media, PR and campaigns delivery to social media, e-marketing and website management.

The Role

You’ll work closely with foster carers and social work colleagues to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed support and improve outcomes for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:

• To supervise and support a diverse range of foster carers and children.
• Ensure children are safe, well cared for and achieve positive outcomes consistent in line with TACT policies.
• Undertaking Form F assessments where needed.
• To facilitate regular support groups and learning opportunities, which will include the delivery of training.
• Developing the service and supporting colleagues. 
• Recording and updating CHARMS and all other appropriate central/social work systems.
• Participating in Out of Hours Service.

What You’ll Need

• An appropriate social work qualification
• Up-to-date registration with Social Work England
• A minimum of 2 years post-qualifying experience in fostering/family placements or other childcare settings
• Experience in supporting and supervising 10-12 foster families to meet the complex needs of the looked-after young people
• A proven track record in working with and on behalf of children, respecting and maintaining their individuality, and promoting their positive development.
• Experience in group work and/or delivery of training.
• Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations, including the Children's Act and NMS Fostering Standards.
• Experience of working with/supporting looked-after children and their foster carers.
• Ability to prioritise, plan and self-organise efficiently.
• Capable of using electronic records systems and IT effectively, including participating in virtual meetings and webinars
• Enhanced DBS / PVG (processed by TACT)

Travel

• Homebased role
• Travel predominantly across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
• Additional travel expected across the whole of the East Midlands
• Monthly face-to-face meetings in East Midlands area
• Additional travel for training, team and carer events
