About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to help lead on delivering our Student Placement program. Our program supports over 100 social work and nursing students a year on placement at St Mungo's to gain practical experience of working with individuals experiencing homelessness.

As Social Work Practice Assessor (Student Placement Coordinator) you will be working with universities, St Mungo's services and students on placement ensuring high quality and meaningful placements

In this role you will:

• Plan and manage social work students’ placements and ensure the provision of appropriate learning opportunities.
• Practice Educate up to 6 students at any one time whilst also overseeing the scheme.
• Facilitate the involvement of student nurses
• Provide support for local service-based supervisors to develop their knowledge and skills in supporting and supervising students on placement in their teams.

In this role you will be required to work flexibly for at least 2 days per week from our Central Office in Tower Hill, London. This allows for training, in person collaboration, team building, line management and other relationship building opportunities. We support a flexible approach to work with opportunities for agile working for the rest of your week; from home, or other St Mungo’s London or regional locations.

About you

To thrive in this role you will have,

• Experience in the of the role of a Social Worker: qualified for 2+ years and hold a Current Practice Education qualification
• A strong understanding of the requirements of undergraduate & postgraduate level degree courses in relation to student practice placements
• An understanding of the requirements of Universities/Colleges and the skills required to build good working relationships with Placement Coordinators and Tutors
• A creative, flexible approach and posses excellent people skills.

The Destitution Caseworker is a full-time post at the JRS UK offices in Wapping with regular visits to our houses in South London. The post-holder will be joining the Advice and Casework Team, a small and diverse team of Caseworkers, Befriending and Practical Support Coordinator and volunteers. The Advice and Casework Team provides refugee friend led advice and casework, supported by the practical offering of hardship payments, regular mobile phone top-ups, and befriending. We also provide temporary accommodation through our hosting scheme 'At Home’ which has operated since 2012. Additionally, we also offer support through our 10- bedroom house for women and 6 – bedroom house for men in South London. This role is busy and varied, with a focus on combining accompaniment with advice and practical support and assistance particularly to those in our accommodation project. The postholder will provide in-depth and proactive support on a broad range of issues including destitution and homelessness; access to legal advice; asylum support and health related matters. The postholder will utilise relationships with NGOs and specialist agencies, signposting and making referrals as appropriate. They will be responsible for managing their own caseload and will support with the smooth running of the accommodation project and other aspects of the wider team. The postholder should have a good working knowledge and empathy of the issues and challenges faced by destitute asylum-seekers and refugees, with particular focus on destitution, homelessness and access to immigration advice. They will need highly developed listening skills, personal resilience, and emotional maturity to respond to the emotional and practical needs of asylum seekers, accompany them and support them to positively progress with their lives. They need to have and maintain an up-to-date knowledge about the immigration and asylum context as it relates to our work with destitute refugees. The Destitution Caseworker will be enthusiastic about working in a small faith-based organisation and have a willingness to integrate JRS UK’s ethos of accompaniment in their approach whilst also demonstrating sensitivity in responding to the needs of individuals facing destitution. They will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and possess excellent communication skills and will adhere to JRS’ values and commitment to social justice and tackling racism and discrimination. They will work flexibly as a member of the team and organisation and undertake other reasonable duties and responsibilities as needed.

Role Specific Responsibilities

Accommodation:

• Preparing needs assessments and inducting guests and residents.

• Facilitating matching meetings and providing ongoing support during placements including review meetings.

• Coordinating food grants for accommodated refugee friends.

• Being the main point of contact and a supportive presence, providing basic advice and casework support for guests and residents.

• Support with coordinating the move-on process from hosting and housing as appropriate.

• Support hosts and other volunteers including assisting with coordinating and facilitating volunteer meetings.

• Support the facilitating of monthly house meetings and activities.

• Proactively identify and respond to risks and health and safety issues, escalating as appropriate.

• Promptly flagging any housing maintenance issues

• Take part in the on-call rota.

• Travelling within London to visit host homes, as well as the properties in South London. Some evening and weekend work is required, but time in lieu will be provided.

General Advice and Casework Support:

• Identify, register, and assess needs of individuals seeking support

• Provide information, advice, and support to individuals on a range of issues including homelessness, access to legal advice, destitution, and asylum support.

• Identify, prioritise and provide pro-active advice and casework support to individuals requiring ongoing support.

• Facilitate access to services and support for individuals through signposting, referrals and ongoing advocacy where appropriate.

• Ensure hardship provisions are distributed, and resources utilised in line with policies, guidance and procedures.

• Maintain and develop positive working relationships and referral pathways with relevant statutory and third sector partners.

• Non-legal form filling.

General:

• Safeguarding concerns are identified, managed and/or escalated as appropriate

• Participate in monthly casework meetings

• Continuously maintain clear and accurate records in accordance with data protection legislation

• Identify and raise common trends and issues affecting our work

• Provide regular reports including for funding as required

• Attend internal and external meetings as agreed

• Keep abreast of relevant developments in asylum/immigration law and procedures

• Actively support colleagues, volunteers and collaborate across teams

Key responsibilities

Team management

• Oversee a team of 3 (2 direct reports) who process ISEAL’s day to day transactions, incl. purchase ledger, sales ledger and staff expenses /credit cards and payroll accounting
• Coordinate work planning, payment runs and monthly/quarterly accounting processes
• Work with the Finance Director to hold effective monthly Face to face team meetings.
• At times, provide back up and support to the different roles in the team

Financial accounting

As an Outreach and Resettlement Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting rough sleepers and vulnerably housed individuals in Ealing. Working within the community, your focus will be on identifying those in need, supporting them into accommodation, and ensuring they have the tools and support to sustain their tenancies and rebuild their lives. You will be working with multi agencies and community services to achieve a person-centred support plan.

In this role you will;

• Conduct early morning and late evening street outreach shifts to identify and engage with rough sleepers. Flexible working arrangements may be considered to meet business requirements as and when needed.
• Deliver intensive casework to clients with complex needs including mental health, substance use, and immigration issues.
• Assess clients face-to-face in community settings to develop tailored support plans.
• Develop and implement resettlement plans to help clients exit homelessness urgently and sustainably.
• Provide short/medium-term tenancy support and refer clients to longer-term services to prevent tenancy breakdown.

About you

As the successful candidate, you will have;

• Experience working with vulnerable people with complex needs is desirable.
• A proactive, empathetic, and flexible approach to client support.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.

Background

NAPAC (the National Association for People Abused in Childhood) is entering an important period of growth. Our income sources are diversifying, our public profile is rising and our operations are becoming more complex. With new earned income streams, additional grant funding, VAT considerations and more detailed Board reporting, we are now strengthening our finance function to ensure accuracy, clarity and confidence in all financial matters.

We are therefore seeking a freelance finance professional to provide part-time, ongoing operational finance support. The role involves managing our monthly financial bookkeeping and reporting functions, working closely with our Chief Operating Officer and wider team. Our current provider will continue to handle payroll and year-end audit preparation, but we are moving our day-to-day finance support to this new model.

We are looking for a proactive, highly competent individual who can understand the way NAPAC works and provide accurate, timely and thoughtful financial support. This is a key role that underpins our success and gives confidence to the team, trustees, funders and external stakeholders.

Scope of Work

The successful individual will be responsible for:

• Maintaining accurate financial records in Xero, including all necessary transactional data entry (such as inputting and coding income, expenses, invoices and credit notes), reconciling bank and PayPal accounts and preparing monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet and cashflow reports).
• Supporting monthly reporting cycles for internal governance (Income Generation Subcommittee and full Board).
• Liaising with our team to ensure invoices are raised, chased and coded accurately.
• Managing grant income allocations and restricted funds tracking in line with funder requirements.
• Supporting our team with financial queries, budget phasing and grant planning.
• Advising on Xero housekeeping (e.g. Chart of Accounts simplification, tracking codes).
• Advising on VAT issues, including preparation for registration if required (though this may be handled separately with legal input).
• Supporting periodic financial forecasting and budgeting alongside the CEO and Chief Operating Officer.
• Attending virtual meetings as required (Income Generation Subcommittee monthly; quarterly Board meetings and ad hoc meetings with staff).
• Ensuring a smooth handover and transition from the current provider.

Occasional projects may include:

• A full review and restructuring of our Chart of Accounts.
• Retrospective re-coding of entries for YTD accuracy and reporting.
• Supporting audit/year-end examination preparations (collaborating with TC-Group as our year-end auditor).

Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who:

• Has strong experience in operational charity finance or with social enterprises.
• Has demonstrable experience of restructuring a Chart of Accounts within finance systems.
• Holds or is training towards a recognised accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or who can demonstrate equivalent experience in operational finance roles, particularly where they have led on financial reporting, forecasting and working within Xero-led systems.
• Has excellent working knowledge of Xero and related finance systems.
• Understands the operational pressures faced by small to medium-sized charities.
• Can lucidly explain financial information for colleagues with varied levels of financial literacy.
• Is detail-oriented, reliable and a clear communicator.
• Is comfortable working independently but collaboratively.
• Can offer a blend of rigour, responsiveness and a values-driven approach.
• Is based in the UK and able to attend NAPAC's London office at least once per month.
• Is available during business hours (09:00-17:00).

Time Commitment and Working Style

The expected time commitment is approximately three-six days per month, depending on workload and reporting periods. We anticipate this may be higher in the first two-three months to support onboarding, systems review and transition from our existing provider. We are open to flexibility and working arrangements.

This role will primarily be delivered remotely, but requires in-person attendance at NAPAC's London office at least once per month. The successful provider must be available during UK business hours (09:00-17:00) to attend scheduled meetings as needed both via Teams online and in-person.

A laptop will not be provided, but full IT onboarding and access to relevant systems (e.g. Xero, Teams, secure file-sharing platforms) will be arranged, along with any required security protocols. Payment will be on a day-rate basis, agreed in advance.

This health charity is looking for a talented Digital Marketing Officer to help raise awareness of their life-saving work and inspire people across the UK to take action. This role plays a key part in growing digital engagement, improving website performance, and using data and insight to drive continuous improvement across campaigns.
 
Working as part of a supportive and ambitious Marketing & Communications team, you’ll deliver and optimise digital activity across web, email, social media and paid channels, helping to increase registrations, supporters and fundraising income.
 
Key responsibilities:

• Deliver digital marketing activity across website, email, social media, paid campaigns and SEO/SEM, aligned with the wider marketing strategy
• Manage and regularly update website content using a CMS, ensuring content is engaging, accurate and conversion focused
• Plan, deliver and analyse email newsletters and mailings, including data handling and performance reporting
• Monitor and report on digital performance using tools such as Google Analytics or Piwik Pro, providing clear insights and recommendations
• Support the ongoing development and improvement of the website, working with internal teams and international colleagues
• Produce regular KPI reports and present findings to colleagues and senior leaders
• Work closely with data, IT and CRM teams to ensure accurate reporting, compliance and effective integration
• Keep up to date with digital marketing trends and share learning across the team
• Champion a culture of measurement, learning and continuous improvement

 
The appointed candidate will have:

• At least two years’ experience in digital marketing, with a proven track record of delivering results
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience using a CMS and CRM system, with basic HTML or coding knowledge
• Solid analytical skills and experience using digital analytics tools
• Hands-on experience with SEO, PPC and paid digital campaigns
• Confidence managing multiple projects, prioritising workloads and meeting deadlines
• Experience working with external suppliers or agencies
• A proactive, collaborative and flexible approach
