Job Purpose:
To provide specialist support to individuals affected by neuroendocrine cancer—including patients, families, carers, and health and social care professionals—through expert nursing advice, psychosocial support, and the provision of dedicated advocacy and self-management services.

• To deliver accurate, evidence-based information and guidance on neuroendocrine cancer.
• To advise on self-care and promote physical and mental well-being, including appropriate escalation pathways (e.g., GP, CNS/CPN, clinical team, emergency services).
• To contribute to the delivery of direct care and support services, including the national helpline, support groups, and access to counselling and therapy.

Key Responsibilities

Other Duties

Requirements

• Must have a current NMC registration with no restrictions on their practice or caution order attachment.
• Min 5-year post reg. experience, within a clinically relevant field: including caseload management
• Be able to provide at least two professional references from your last place of work as a nurse or midwife.
• Please note that a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required.
• Demonstrate a willingness to attend all mandatory training relevant to their role
• Must be flexible to work locally or remotely, and willing to travel to attend support groups, conferences, and events.
• Minimum 1 day/week helpline +/- cover as needed.
• Mandatory staff meeting days in the office (Leamington Spa) 4 times a year.

Administrative Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft 365 Office applications
• Proficient in accurately entering complex data into secure electronic systems.

Professional Experience & Knowledge

JOB DESCRIPTION 

Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice helps babies, children and young people who are seriously unwell, and their families, make the most of every day. The charity aspires to become a centre of clinical excellence for children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.

We’ve been on a major upward trajectory in recent years, with more children being supported, more major hospitals being partnered with and more supporters donating. We’ve transformed from being an enthusiastic start-up delivering care in the community, to a serious player delivering major impact both in the community and at our state-of-the-art hospice building, The Ark, opened in 2019.

Philanthropy, which covers Grants, Trusts & Foundations and Major Donor fundraising streams, is pivotal to Noah’s Ark, typically accounting for around 50% of the charity’s voluntary income. This is an area of real expertise for Noah’s Ark, with much scope for further refining. The successful candidate will therefore enjoy opportunities to manage and add to an exciting portfolio and gain further training and support, working as part of a high-performing and super supportive team, ready for its next exciting growth phase.

The Philanthropy Officer will work closely with and report to the Grants, Trusts & Foundations Manager and Head of Philanthropy to develop the Trust and Major Donor pipelines, along with instrumental cross-team work on applications and reporting processes for other income streams. Whilst we work towards developing a more diverse funding model and navigate changes to the external Trust and HNWI environments, sustaining and growing income from both of these income steams will remain vital.

The post-holder will be key in taking the Trust and Major Donor programmes to the next level, securing new grants, building relationships, increasing multi-year gifts and improving both quality and volume of applications. They will also support the Grants, Trusts & Foundations Manager, and the wider team, to the same end with their respective portfolios.

Responsibilities:

• Volunteer management including recruiting, developing and retaining volunteers

• Be the ‘go to’ person to provide support for our Area Reps and Street Reps and develop a peer-to-peer network to share best practice across volunteer

• Raise awareness around trees, particularly in areas of low tree canopy cover and where we are currently underrepresented

• Work closely with the tree care team to support volunteering and training opportunities including watering, formative tree care, auditing

About the Role

We're looking for a compassionate and driven Service Manager to join our residential service based in Havering. This role supports residents in temporary housing who are facing challenges with substance use. As a Service Manager, you’ll lead a dedicated team, making sure we deliver high quality support, performance and improvements across our service whilst representing values of the organisation. You'll play a hands on role in supporting individuals facing addiction, homelessness, and complex needs guiding them towards stability, independence, and brighter futures.

The service focuses on providing a 24 hour, 25 bed accommodation service to residents who are deemed to be high risk. They support those who are experiencing homelessness. All admissions are jointly agreed, and placements reviewed at a weekly Complex Needs Panel chaired by the local authority. Residents are agreed on the basis that they are:

The Unifrog platform

Over the last 12 years, the Unifrog platform has grown enormously from its starting point as a simple tool to help students pick their UK university courses and apprenticeships. It now helps young people from 4 years old up to explore their interests, record the great things they’ve done, compare every post-16 and post-18 course in the UK and every undergraduate programme taught in English in the world, find and organise work experience, and draft their application materials. The platform also helps teachers and career advisers to guide students every step of the way, makes it easy for parents to explore the platform via their own accounts, and helps employer and university recruitment teams to interact directly with students. 

We have a long list of exciting projects for the platform, always aiming to achieve our mission. We are looking for someone to join Unifrog’s team to help us continually improve the platform’s existing tools, and to also develop new ones. 

What you’ll do

You’ll work on improving the platform itself, from how things work behind the scenes, to the user experience and how the tools work and look.

This role does not involve coding - instead you’ll develop and design clear ideas and plans with Unifrog’s two co-founders, and with other colleagues involved in platform development, and then you’ll work with our lead programmer to make them happen.

You will become an expert in:

• The needs of all our different user types, including students, teachers, school groups, universities, employers, and parents

• How to navigate the platform as a user of each type

• How the Unifrog platform works behind the scenes

You’ll be part of the team that:

• Collates feedback on the platform, deciding which changes to move ahead with, and how
   

• Comes up with and designs ideas for platform improvements

• Develops and designs completely new tools

• Investigates potential bugs and comes up with suggested solutions

• Communicates platform changes to the Unifrog team

• Answers queries about the platform from colleagues

 

Working together

You’ll regularly be working with:

• Unifrog’s two co-founders and other colleagues involved in maintaining and developing the platform – in particular our data and content teams – to come up with improvements to the platform and to develop new projects

• Our lead programmer to implement ideas

• User-facing colleagues to understand what our users are asking for, as well as communicate to them what things have changed on the platform

• (More occasionally, but especially at the beginning) our users, when you need to have a greater understanding of a particular topic

You will be line-managed by Unifrog’s two co-founders.

 

Skills and characteristics

We are looking for an independent worker with design skills, who is a great problem solver and is motivated to find an elegant solution, whatever the issue.

Design

You’ll be producing the designs that go to our lead programmer, and which he’ll use as the basis for his work. You should have experience with UX design, and we can accommodate whichever application you prefer to work with, eg Figma or Sketch.

We’ve developed and plan to keep developing a large range of tools on the platform, like:

• Quizzes

• Tools to make large banks of information easy to search and understand

• Tools to simplify complex workflows

• Integrations with other platforms

• Document creation that involves input from multiple people

• Data visualisation

The problems we come up against can involve:

• Different users handling the same processes in different ways from each other

• Different groups of users having competing wants

• A data provider changing the way they structure their data

• Users not completing an important action on the platform

• A change on one tool having a knock-on effect on several other tools

• Users expressing their needs and ideas in uncertain or ambiguous ways
   

Your challenge is to design concrete solutions that work for everyone, which are as simple as possible to implement, and which are immediately understandable by a user who’s never seen them before.

Independence and initiative
 

You will work closely with Unifrog’s two co-founders. While colleagues from the wider team will be involved in coming up with ideas and telling you what they need, you will be the only team member, apart from the co-founders, in the product development team.

Because Unifrog’s co-founders work remotely and are also involved in other areas of the business, this will require you to be a good independent worker:
 

• Able to plan a project and stick to timelines, even when you need to get input from other team members

• Confident to come up with your own ideas, sort out good ideas from less useful ones, and make decisions based on information you’ve researched or been given by other team members

• Open when getting feedback

• Able to adapt to a team used to working in an informal way with few processes, allowing for flexibility and rapid advancements

• Driven to get projects finished and signed off

• Communication

You will need to understand and translate the issues that a user is facing to our lead programmer, and tell him your ideas for solutions and explain your designs in a way that will allow him to get working without needing lots of clarification.

You will need to communicate what development work is happening to the rest of the Unifrog team, and you’ll need to help your colleagues find the best way to tell users about it in turn.

Finally, you will need to be able to adapt your communication style depending on the person you are communicating with, including our lead programmer, other Unifrog team members, or partners and users.

The ideal candidate

To be considered for this role, you should be able to:

• Provide outreach and in-reach support to people affected by substance use across Tower Hamlets, including those who may have a history of rough sleeping, be vulnerably housed, or otherwise disconnected from mainstream services.

• Carry out person-centred assessments and work collaboratively with service users to develop support and recovery plans.

• Make timely and appropriate referrals to specialist services (e.g. treatment, health, housing, and social care) to ensure holistic support.

*This role sits within a pay grade with a pay range of £22,155.20 to £34,913 (FTE £27,694 to £43,642). Context and purpose of role

By 2034 Ramblers ambition is that everyone in England and Wales will be able to join a Wellbeing Walk close to where they live – for communities to come together and experience the health and wellbeing benefits of walking. This work is part of the strategic plan and business objectives of Ramblers GB.

The role will deliver the Walking Together Project across communities in north London, Slough and Reading. The role will engage directly with the most disadvantaged communities, where loneliness, social isolation and inactivity could be prevalent, through a ‘Getting Started’ Wellbeing Walks programme. This is a community delivery role to work with local communities to establish walks and find potential walk leaders within the community to sustain walking.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the Ramblers Getting Started element of the Walking Together Project
• Maintain positive working relationships with local and regional partners to deliver the project
• Maintain positive working relationships with local members/volunteers
• Attend Community/Borough or Town Council, steering group and other partner meetings and events and use to deliver the project
• Ensure relevant policies and procedures, compliant with current legislation and in line with Ramblers’ approach, are supported
• Set up a total of four community walking programmes in the identified areas each year
• Deliver and coordinate training opportunities for the communities who sign up to the project
• Support the Community Development Officers in identifying further opportunities in the area
• Manage and record project expenditure
• Provide regular progress reports

Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable adults during critical moments in their care journey? As a Hospital Care Navigator, you’ll be a vital part of ensuring patients leave the hospital safely and confidently, with the right support in place.

In this rewarding role, you’ll be the single point of contact for adult patients preparing for discharge from the hospital. You’ll work closely with the Adult Social Care team, health professionals, hospital practitioners, and community services to:

• Identify needs and barriers to safe discharge
• Achieve safe and timely patient discharge
• Coordinate outpatient appointments and follow-up services
• Provide clear, compassionate advice and support to patients and their families
• Ensure patients understand their discharge plan every step of the way.

You’ll meet with patients, their families, friends, or carers to assess ongoing needs, ensuring a safe plan is in place for their return home. This could include ensuring that medication is arranged from the hospital pharmacy, someone is at home to greet them, food and heating are available, and the condition of the home is safe to return to. You may be required to liaise with Adult Social Care and other home providers to coordinate home support. You’ll follow up on calls or visits to ensure the patient is managing well at home. By providing the proper support, patients can be discharged sooner, and the risk of readmission is significantly reduced. 

We’re seeking someone who:

• Has experience working with vulnerable adults in social care, healthcare, or the community/voluntary sector
• Communicates with empathy and confidence across different teams at different levels, and with patients
• Is highly organised, with excellent time management skills
• Has awareness and respect for cultural differences
• (Bonus) Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting.

The role is based at our Southwark office, and you will be required to travel to hospitals and across the City of London, as well as to Tower Hamlets, Camden, Hackney, and Southwark.

We're looking for an Engagement Worker to join our residential service based in Havering which is a 25 bed, 24 hour service delivering support to adults who have multiple and complex needs within a supported accommodation setting. You will support with various aspects within the service, with a focus on providing social contact and company to help enhance quality of life, personal safety, health and security, sustainment of tenancy and improving financial independence. You will support our residents to gain the relevant skills and knowledge to gain greater independence, supporting them back into the community. 

You will be at the forefront of delivering a trauma-informed, person-centred service, supporting individuals through rehabilitation, reablement, and resettlement. This includes assisting with engagement activities, developing support plans, and providing access to appropriate interventions to help residents move towards independence.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Supporting residents to access the resources, tools, and networks they need to achieve their goals.
• Develop, participate in, and encourage residents to participate in the running and development of various projects and activities.
• Promoting independence through life skills training, practical support, and empowerment.
