Our Adult Learning Manager is a key operational role within the Adult Learning, Skills and Employment service. The post holder will take lead responsibility for the management and delivery of High Trees’ adult learning and community education provision, ensuring highquality, accessible and impactful learning for local residents.

Working closely with the Head of Adult Learning, Skills and Employment, the post holder will oversee the operational delivery of our Adult Education Budget (AEB/ASF) funded provision and wider community learning offer, including functional skills (English, Maths and ICT), ESOL, community wellbeing, family learning and selected vocational courses.

This is a hands-on management role that combines operational oversight with a strong focus on quality, compliance and continuous improvement. The post holder will lead a team of tutors, learning support staff and coordinators, ensuring excellent standards of teaching, learning and assessment across all provision.

A central aspect of the role is ensuring the adult learning curriculum offer is well-designed, responsive to local need and effectively supports residents to develop skills, confidence and pathways into further education, training and employment.

Purpose of the role:

You will help form part of a UK-wide team of remote Helpline Advisors operating the only modern slavery specific helpline in the UK. We are seeking a self-motivated, flexible and experienced individual to join our dynamic team to help us deliver excellent services to vulnerable women who have experienced domestic abuse and be committed to working in a non-discriminatory manner.  

Location: This role requires a flexible, outreach-based approach, working across BCWA sites in Bromley & Croydon boroughs, including independent refuges and dispersed move-on accommodation. You will be delivering sessions in a variety of locations and carrying out regular check-ins with children and mothers where they are living.A driving licence and access to a vehicle would be preferable however the role can still be done using public transport, but you will need to take more care when scheduling meetings and planning your travel routes. 

Wellbeing: As a trauma-informed charity we take mental health and wellbeing seriously. We offer clinical supervision to our frontline team, regular staff wellbeing sessions, use of our Employee Assistance Programme and an additional wellbeing platform which offers a range of advice and support.

Created as part of investment in the Trust’s fundraising capacity, this exciting new role will take the lead on our crucial legacy and major donor income streams as we strive to achieve transformative income to support nature’s recovery across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

What you’ll be doing:

Leading on all operational aspects of these income streams and inputting into strategy with the Senior Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager, you will have responsibility for growing the Trust’s legacy, mid-level and major donor fundraising.

With support from colleagues across the department and wider Trust, you’ll provide stewardship to a portfolio of mid and high-value relationships, cultivate and secure new donors, and act as a champion for this crucial area of work across the organisation.

About you:

You will be an experienced fundraiser with outstanding communication skills and strong technical legacy skills and knowledge, as well as in-depth knowledge and track record of success in growing a major donor programme. You’re a proactive, positive and confident fundraiser with the experience and expertise to take the lead across our legacy and major donor income streams.

We resource, connect and champion a network of over 6,300 Warm Welcome Spaces and bring together a growing coalition of local, regional, and national partners representing the worlds of charity, faith, business, government, and philanthropy. To support ongoing growth and development of the Warm Welcome Campaign, we are looking for a Head of Operations to be responsible for supporting the Senior Leadership Team in the effective and efficient running of the Campaign and the coordination and development of our ambitious 5-year strategy. The role will sit within Warm Welcome’s Senior Leadership Team, which also includes the Campaign Director, Director of Communications, Director of Programmes and Development, and will report directly to the Good Faith Partnership Operations Director. 

The purpose of the Warm Welcome Senior Leadership Team is to:

• Own and develop the Warm Welcome strategy, ensuring sustainability and delivery

• Lead, direct, engage and inspire the Warm Welcome team, setting the tone and culture

• Be accountable for significant decisions, challenges and risks.

The Head of Operations role will help to support and co-ordinate the work of the Senior Leadership team to be as effective as possible in achieving this purpose.

Financial, Risk and Compliance management

Working Arrangements 

• Current members of the team are based across the UK, with some in London, Reading, Bristol, Manchester, York and Northern Ireland. Applicants must be able to travel to Bristol once a month for a Tuesday full team meeting. Given the nature of this role we would also expect the applicant to carry out a reasonable amount of travel to both Warm Welcome Spaces and partners across the UK.

About You

You are an experienced communications professional with a strong track record of delivering successful communications strategies, campaigns and engagement activities.
