We are looking to appoint a Nature case writer within Global Canopy’s education and learning team.
Education is critical to GC’s goal to drive uptake of nature-related risk management practices in financial, business and policymaking communities in both emerging and developed markets; and to help strengthen capacity among civil society to help hold powerful actors to account.
Case studies and use cases are an important part of capacity building through education and learning, helping market participants develop an understanding of key nature concepts in the context of real-life scenarios, and support the development of critical analysis, problem-solving, decision-making, and implementation in relation to nature-related issues and nature-related finance.
To be successful in this role, these are the things that will matter the most:
- Strong writing and research skills, as well as excellent analytical, communications, and interviewing skills.
- An ability to navigate multi-stakeholder projects with emotional intelligence
- Communication skills that enable engagement with senior professionals across a range of sectors from policy to finance on potentially complex and sensitive issues
- Knowledge and experience of either nature-related finance and/or global trade and supply chains gained ideally either working with or within the private sector

Impact and Insights Officer
This is a brand new, unique role to be an impact catalyst across both Carlisle and Barnet youth zones, generating support and building towards a ‘culture of impact’ in both organisations such that outcome measurement and impact reporting becomes routine and ‘every day’.
Position: Impact and Insights Officer
Location: Home-working combined with a minimum of 8 days per month across both Barnet and Carlisle youth zones (travel expenses will be covered as part of the package)
Salary: £38,000 – £42,000 (dependent upon experience)

About the Role
You will lead on data analysis and reporting on the data held in Salesforce CRM, improving both the quality and quantity of monitoring and evaluation processes, driving improvements in data capture through training and upskilling the Youth Work team, strengthening the ability of both youth zones to demonstrate the measurable impact of youth work delivered.
You will also be responsible for measuring and demonstrating both charities’ impact to stakeholders; authoring and providing the necessary data to the leadership and fundraising teams and Board (as required), annual publications such as Trustees Reports and annual Impact Reports. Innovation is a key aspect of this role, involving the introduction and embedding of new methodologies to enhance the qualitative data capture process.
You will collaborate closely with a cross section of teams within the youth zones, working with the Youth Work delivery teams to feed data into decision making, and with the Communications and Fundraising teams to provide impact measurement and analysis content for use with stakeholders and in donor reporting. Furthermore, it will align impact and data work with national and local policy, and use national census, health, police and other statistical data to position both youth zones for new income generation opportunities.
About You
This role is ideal for someone who has the ability to bring technical analysis to life in a youth work setting and can communicate insights in an accessible style to different audiences. The Impact and Insights Officer should be passionate about embracing the power of youth work and be keen to support youth zones in evidencing the impact created with young people. It will require someone who can bring impact expertise and creativity to create buy-in and drive improvements in data capture; and someone who is keen to work flexibly and closely with teams of passionate youth workers and who is unafraid of the challenge presented by Youth Zones in two very different geographic locations.

A daily lunch service is at the heart of our day-centre delivery for young people experiencing homelessness. For many of our young people, lunch is their only hot, nutritious meal of the day. We are looking for a passionate Chef to work independently in our kitchen to deliver a daily meal for up to 100 young people, staff and volunteers. You will have responsibility for planning, preparing and serving food that makes a real difference to people's lives. Due to three of our client's current Board members stepping down from their positions following completion of their six-year terms, they are looking to fill three vacancies on their Board with individuals who can strengthen their existing skills-based Board by bringing high level knowledge and experience in one or more of the below key areas:
- Treasury and Corporate Finance (strategy and funding options)
- Environmental (green agenda / achieving net zero carbon)
- Strategic IT and Data (using data effectively)
The successful applicant will be a member of their Board and a member of one or more of the following committees:

The successful applicants will be appointed at the July Board meeting however term of office will commence in September 2024. The Board typically meet online however there are approximately four in person meetings a year, which also include overnight stays
As a full Board Member, the remuneration is £5,577 p.a. plus reasonable expenses.

About the role
As Operations Administrator, you will be an office superstar performing a range of support tasks to equip and enable the team to fulfil its mission of seeing the lives of offenders and their communities visibly transformed.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Being the first point of contact for all staff, clients and visitors, meeting and greeting visitors to the office at all levels of seniority.
- Screening enquiries and requests via phone, email and post, handling them when appropriate.
- Taking telephone referrals and responding to referral agencies’ queries, typically regarding client eligibility, course dates and current client attendance
- Building and managing relationships with service contract providers including phone, internet and printers
- Maintaining office systems, including filing, data management, shredding of sensitive information and managing stock.
- Maintaining the Newcastle office environment to a high standard, ensuring they are equipped and resourced, and ensuring the smooth-running of life in the office through the management of room bookings, parking rotas and diaries.
- Providing administrative support to the Operations team.
- Providing virtual support to staff based in Edinburgh and Teesside.
- Supporting our Outreach teams to thrive by removing barriers, helping solve any operational problems and ensuring they’re equipped and resourced to do their job effectively.
- Support the planning and participate in raising funds for the organisation, for example an annual fundraising event.
About You
We are looking for an experienced Operations Administrator who is a problem solver and has a can-do attitude.
To succeed in the role of Operations Administrator, your key skills will include:

- Previous experience in an administrative role

Who we’re looking for
