You will work across HHU’s established programmes and community activity while helping to develop and strengthen the organisation as it grows. The role offers a distinctive opportunity to connect strong community-based delivery with wider change, helping ensure that what is learned through HHU’s trusted relationships and Bhip’s work leads to better practice, stronger services, and demonstrable outcomes for communities.

Who we are
We are OUTpatients, the UK’s LGBTIQ+ cancer charity. Proudly led by and for our community, we are here to shake up the system, advocate for equity, and stand up for every LGBTIQ+ person affected by cancer. Our passion to support others is born out of personal experience; we understand what it’s like to not see yourself reflected in the services you use, and feel like you are left in the margins at a time when you most need personalised support. That is why we host peer support, educate healthcare professionals and help to shape national policy so that nobody has to go through cancer alone.
The position
The Head of Fundraising & Business Development is one of three new senior leadership roles we're creating alongside our CEO, the first time OUTpatients has built a leadership team of this kind. It's a rare chance to build an income generation function from scratch, not inherit and manage one that already exists.
You'll be the driving force behind how we fund our growth: designing and delivering a multi-channel income strategy spanning trusts and grants, corporate partnerships, individual giving and commercialised education products, and personally securing the gifts and partnerships that sustain our peer support, healthcare education and advocacy work. This is a hands-on, deeply personal role. You'll write the bids, pitch the sponsors and build the relationships yourself, not oversee others doing it.
Working closely with our incoming Chief Operating Officer and Chief Medical Officer, and reporting directly to our CEO, your work will directly shape how many more LGBTIQ+ people affected by cancer we're able to reach.
To learn more about the role, please read the attached Job Description.
We exist to improve the experiences and outcomes of LGBTIQ+ people living with and beyond cancer.

Our offices are open from 9.00 am to 5.00pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and from 9.00am to 9.00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Working patterns will be agreed with the successful candidate, but some planned evening work on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays will form part of the role.
When applying, please tell us:
· how many hours you would ideally like to work;
· which days and times you are available;
· whether you can work planned evenings on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays;
We will consider individual preferences alongside the overall needs of the Business Support Team.
What we are looking for
Are you organised, approachable and confident managing a varied workload?
We are looking for Business Support Officers to help keep our charity’s essential day-to-day systems and services running effectively.
As a Business Support Officer, you will be part of the team at the heart of the organisation. You will help coordinate our administrative, reception, finance, HR, and governance support, ensuring colleagues, volunteers, families, and visitors receive an efficient, welcoming, and professional service.
Working with the Business Operations Manager, your responsibilities will include:
· coordinating day-to-day office and business support;
· responding to telephone, email and in-person enquiries;
· supporting and coordinating reception volunteers;
· managing room bookings and supporting community use of the building;
· processing invoices, expenses and other financial administration;
· maintaining employee, volunteer and compliance records;
· coordinating recruitment, interview and induction administration;
· supporting Board and committee administration;
· maintaining databases and supporting organisational reporting; and
· helping improve administrative systems and processes.
About you
You will have experience of working in a busy office or administrative environment and be able to organise your work effectively while responding to changing priorities. You will also bring:
· experience of coordinating administrative or business support activities;
· knowledge or experience of finance and HR administration;
· experience of supervising or supporting staff or volunteers;
· strong communication and customer-service skills;
· excellent attention to detail and accurate record-keeping;
· confidence using Microsoft 365, databases and office systems;
· an understanding of confidentiality and GDPR; and
· the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
A Level 3 qualification in business administration, office management or a related area would be welcomed. We will also consider applicants with equivalent practical experience.
Previous experience in a charity, public-sector, or community organisation would be helpful, but not essential.
Most importantly, you will be positive, calm and approachable, with a commitment to excellent service and continuous improvement.
What we offer
We want our people to feel valued, supported and able to do their best work. As part of our team, you will receive:
· Generous annual leave – statutory minimum holiday entitlement, including bank holidays, plus an additional 5 days’ paid annual leave each year. For someone working five days per week, this is 33 days’ paid leave per year, including bank holidays, pro rata for part-time employees.
· Workplace pension – eligible employees will be enrolled into our NEST workplace pension scheme.
· Employee Assistance Programme – access to the Wisdom Employee Assistance Programme, providing confidential support for your health and wellbeing.
· Support and development – regular supervision alongside opportunities for learning and development.
· An inclusive and supportive workplace – where different perspectives, experiences and ways of thinking are welcomed and valued.
You’ll also have the opportunity to be part of an organisation working to make a meaningful difference to the people and communities we support.

For two decades, Transplant Links Community has been transforming access to kidney transplantation in low- and middle-income countries. Working with NHS transplant professionals and international clinical partners, they help hospitals develop ethical, sustainable and increasingly self-sufficient transplant services. Alongside Transplant Links work with Partner Centres, our education and training programmes connect healthcare professionals around the world with specialist expertise and learning.
Chief Executive
Transplant Links
£75,000 FTE
Remote, UK based
This is an opportunity to lead a small, specialist organisation with international reach and tangible human impact. Working with a committed staff team and an exceptional network of NHS clinical volunteers, you will build on strong foundations while helping Transplant Links become more ambitious, sustainable and influential.
You will work with the Board to shape and deliver our strategy, lead and develop the organisation, strengthen our partnerships and profile and, importantly, grow and diversify our income. Developing a more consistent and sustainable funding base will be central to our next chapter.
This is a genuinely hands-on CEO role. We are looking for someone who thrives in a small, entrepreneurial organisation and is comfortable moving between the strategic and practical. You might be working with Trustees on future direction, developing a funding relationship, building an international partnership or helping colleagues resolve an operational challenge. You will enjoy being close to the work, taking ownership and making things happen.
You may already be a CEO or be a senior leader ready to take that step. More important than title is your ability to combine strategic judgement, strong relationship-building and an entrepreneurial approach. You will bring leadership experience alongside a demonstrable ability to generate income, develop partnerships and make a compelling case for support.
You do not need to be a clinician, but you will need the curiosity and credibility to work effectively with medical professionals and international partners, and respect for the expertise and voluntary contribution on which our work depends. Above all, we are looking for someone who is ambitious for our impact rather than the size of the organisation, a collaborative, resourceful and resilient leader who can see what is possible and help us make it happen.
Closing: 18 October 2026

You’ll build strong relationships with community organisations, local residents, statutory and voluntary-sector partners and other opportunities across Islington, opening doors for clients to access volunteering, education, cultural activities and wider community life. You’ll represent Single Homeless Project (SHP) at local forums and events, champion social value across our services and look for creative ways we can contribute positively to the communities our clients are part of.
You’ll also help us understand what is making a difference, monitoring participation and outcomes and using what we learn to strengthen the programme over time. It’s a role with plenty of scope for creativity and initiative, where you can turn relationships, ideas and client feedback into opportunities that reduce isolation, strengthen belonging and help people move forward with greater confidence, independence and purpose.
About you:
About us:
We’re London’s leading homelessness charity – and we get things done.
In a city where hundreds are forced into homelessness every day, our work has never been more needed or more challenging. And we’re not shying away. We’re rolling up our sleeves to make change and helping over 10,000 Londoners every year. We prevent homelessness, provide safe places to live and give people the opportunity to rebuild their lives and transform their futures. And we never give up.
We’re here for Londoners wherever they are on their journey. We start with trust, building relationships that help people feel safe, supported, and ready to move forward. Every day, we put people first in everything we do, challenging injustice and barriers that keep people from the safety, stability and opportunity they deserve. We stand alongside people as they rebuild and shape a future that feels their own.
Joining Single Homeless Project means joining a team that’s bold, compassionate and determined to do better for the people we support and for each other. You’ll work alongside colleagues with lived experience, in a space that’s trans-inclusive, disability-friendly, and actively striving to be anti-oppressive and equitable.
We’re not perfect, but we’re real. We listen. We learn. And we push forward, together. Because this isn’t just a job. It’s a chance to lead with empathy, spark change, and help build a London where no one is left behind.
