Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, is looking for two passionate and proactive Upstream Practitioner’s to join our Team based in Bournemouth.

About us

Centrepoint is the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity. We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. We provide homeless young people with accommodation, mental health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment. We want to end youth homelessness by 2037. Together with our partners, we support over 16,000 young people each year.

The roles

We have two permanent Upstream Practitioner roles available, which are both school based and are part of our policy and prevention directorate. They will report to the Senior Upstream Practitioner and as a team, you will play a key role in our pre-16 prevention pilot, helping to identify and address the root causes of youth homelessness.

We have one full-time role and one term-time role available. Both roles are 37.5 hours per week and will be based in The Bourne Academy. The full-time role is working over 52 weeks and includes annual leave entitlement in line with Centrepoint’s policy. The term-time role is working over 41 weeks per year (39 weeks during term time plus 2 additional weeks). This role does not include annual leave. Instead, the annual leave is paid in addition to the salary.

The successful candidates will need to be available week commencing 23rd March Monday to Friday in Manchester, to undertake Level 4 mediation training with UK Mediation. All expenses will be paid for by Centrepoint.

What you’ll be doing …

• Delivering a school-based early intervention programme aimed at preventing youth homelessness
• Administering the Upstream Survey to students aged 11–16 to help identify hidden risk factors
• Managing and maintaining a caseload of young people, carrying out holistic assessments to understand their wellbeing, relationships, and home life, working proactively with them and their families before issues escalate to crisis point
• Leading and delivering workshops and providing early intervention support focused on emotional wellbeing, resilience, healthy relationships, and independent living skills
• Working closely with schools, families, and community services to support sustained positive outcomes
• Collecting, monitoring, and recording impact data to track progress and support continuous improvement

What we’re looking for

• Experience supporting children, young people, and families in a preventative or early intervention context
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with young people, families, and professionals
• Strong skills in completing risk assessments and managing safeguarding concerns and be committed to safeguarding and trauma-informed practices
• Knowledge of local services and referral pathways
• Ability to work independently within a school-based environment while collaborating with partner agencies
• Interest in using data and evaluation to inform and improve practice
• A relevant qualification or experience in Family Support, Mediation, Social Work, or a related field is desirable

Consultant to cover maternity leave for the Project Officer, Inclusive Eye Health Project in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe

Title: Project Officer, Inclusive Eye Health Project - maternity cover

Location: Bulawayo, Zimbabwe

Anticipated Consultancy Length: Four Months

Overall objective 

The purpose of this consultancy is to provide maternity cover services for a period of four months (01 April-31 July 2026) for the Project Officer, Inclusive Eye Health Project. The Project Officer leads and coordinates the implementation of Inclusive Eye Health (IEH) programmes in Matabeleland North, Zimbabwe. The role is designed to ensure effective collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Child Care, Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality eye health services in the province. Since the project is implemented in all the 7 districts of Matabeleland North Province, it is practical to have this person based in a satellite office in Bulawayo for easy coordination of stakeholders and project activities. 

The Project Officer is responsible for managing daily operations, monitoring and evaluating project outcomes, supporting capacity building, and contributing to research and innovation. Ultimately, the position aims to enhance the impact and quality of Sightsavers’ programmes through strategic coordination, partnership management, and continuous improvement. 

Principal Accountabilities (specific activities and end results): 

Project coordination

• Support all Sightsavers supported eye health activities by providing effective management and coordination to the project to ensure the delivery of set targets.
• Coordinate all OPD related activities as part of IEH project through working with different OPD groups to ensure adherence to workplans and budget for the achievement of planned project outputs.
• Coordinate capacity building initiatives for health workers and OPDs 
• Support partner teams and OPDs groups to identify and develop innovative approaches for the delivery of an inclusive eye health project in the Matabeleland North 
• Coordinate the preparation of activity related reports as well as quarterly and annual reports to Sightsavers / donors as may be required. 

Monitoring and Evaluation

• Support the Snr Programme Officer in monitoring project implementation in the province. Conduct quarterly project visits and follow up on outstanding issues.
• Provide support to OPD groups and steering committee during targeted outreach activities and monitoring visits to project facilities. 
• Support in reviewing the evidence provided by partners for the delivery of activities and ensure proper reporting system and records are kept in place.
• The position will be responsible for guiding the overall Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Strategy and use of M&E methodology necessary for attaining the project goals. 
• Monitor project expenditure to ensure that it is in line with the budget envelope and value for money is observed. 

Representation and Networking 

• Represent the Programme Manager at various meetings and discussions at relevant government Ministries and other agencies.

Research

• Coordinate the design and conduct of patient satisfaction studies to assess the quality of services provided at project facilities. 

Budget and payment schedule 

• It is estimated this consultancy will take in full 4 months of consultancy time.
• A total fee of USD 2,500 per month (USD$10,000) as stipulated above will be invoiced to the Client by the Consultant upon signing this agreement whereby 100% of the total claim will be paid by the 25th of each month, subject to deliverables being met.
• Withholding tax of 30% shall be charged if a valid tax clearance is not presented at the time of payment. 
• Other activity charges including venue, travel to and from the hotels to activity venues, accommodation and meals will be covered by Sightsavers. 

Skills and Experience

Minimal qualifications for a Lead Consultant/ Team Members 

Qualifications and experience: 

• Degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, or related disciplines (post-graduate degree will be an advantage).

• Extensive experience in programme/project management, ideally in an INGO setting.

• Technical knowledge of Eye Health in Zimbabwe

• Understanding of Disability Inclusive Development

• Experience in working with OPDs groups will be an added advantage.

• Experience in monitoring and evaluation and research

• Understanding of the health system in Zimbabwe

• Experience in advocacy.

The primary aims of the team are to work with 11-25yr olds to help them to exert more positive control over their lives and to live safely as they progress towards adulthood.  The team is a multi-disciplinary team with a diverse skill set.

You will work with young people who are at risk of gang exploitation; child sexual exploitation; substance misuse; criminal or anti-social behaviour; those who have been excluded from school or violent towards other people in the home, or those who have been subject to missing episodes.

The project aims to make a positive contribution to the Council's wider aims by helping to minimise and manage the risks posed by young people engaging in activities related to drugs, alcohol, child sexual exploitation, criminal behaviour, gangs, radicalisation, and to prevent young people from coming into care, by supporting them to live safely with their families.

The worker will be co-located within Wolverhampton Children's Services as a key worker within a multi-disciplinary team. There are a team of 5 key workers currently, including a further Barnardos Project worker. They will use WCC systems (recording, policy, management) alongside employment and line management support from Barnardo's.

We are SIFA Fireside, the support service for any adult in Birmingham that faces homelessness. For 40 years we have supported Birmingham’s most vulnerable people through Homelessness Intervention, Prevention and Recovery services.

SIFA Fireside’s Support Centre, based in Digbeth, delivers a range of services to people experiencing homelessness or who are vulnerably housed. The Peer Support Worker Service (PSWS) is a team of individuals who work with rough sleepers across the city of Birmingham, aiming to facilitate connection, motivate and inspire, and provide a non-judgemental listening ear. The service supports individuals facing Multiple Exclusion Homelessness (MEH), empowering them to make informed choices about their lives.

The Peer Support Worker role includes street outreach across Birmingham, building trust and rapport with the rough sleeping community. Many individuals have had negative experiences with services, leading to a lack of trust and reluctance to engage. Some may also have limited experience of managing accommodation or navigating support services. The role therefore centres on developing supportive, persistent, and compassionate relationships.

We provide LGBTQ+ Inclusion Training for a wide range of organisations, with a focus on organisations working with children and young people.  Our goal is to help build people’s knowledge of LGBTQ+ issues and their confidence in being effective allies to LGBTQ+ children, young people and adults.

We are seeking an Assistant Manager to play a key operational role at our Sunderland Hub. Supporting the day-to-day running of services that help people facing social exclusion rebuild confidence, skills, and stability.

This is a mission-driven, hands-on role combining coordination, leadership and frontline delivery. You will work closely with the Hub Manager and wider team to ensure the hub operates smoothly, safely and with purpose, while supporting individuals to engage in meaningful activity and community life.

The Role – Assistant Manager (Sunderland Hub)

As Assistant Manager, you will be central to the smooth running of the Sunderland Hub. You’ll support the Hub Manager in coordinating staff, activities and services, while maintaining a welcoming, organised and supportive environment.

This is a varied role combining operational oversight, hands-on delivery, administration and people support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Hub Manager in the day-to-day operation of the Sunderland Hub

• Help coordinate staff, volunteers, activities and community sessions

• Provide hands-on support to residents and trainees as needed

• Assist with planning and delivery of workshops, shared meals and group activities

• Act as a welcoming and reliable point of contact for people accessing the hub

• Support record keeping, reporting and compliance requirements

• Assist with ordering supplies, processing expenses and basic financial administration

• Help oversee housing-related processes and liaise with relevant teams

The team supports over 60 psychology‑focused member networks, each with its own specialist interests and passions. About the Role

As Senior Member Network Account Manager, you will be the main contact for several Member Networks, including Divisions. You’ll support and guide volunteers across multiple committees, helping them deliver activity for their members confidently and effectively. This includes advising on governance, finance, volunteer recruitment, events and wider activity planning. You will also build strong relationships, lead projects, and work closely with teams across the organisation to strengthen collaboration and network growth.

A day in the life may include:

• Advising volunteers on governance, finance, awards, planning and compliance matters
• Ensuring Networks deliver their activity plans, managing timelines and aligning work to strategic goals and budgets
• Supporting events and projects that drive member engagement, including budgeting, venue liaison and travel bookings
• Managing inboxes and responding to enquiries with clear advice and signposting
• Attending meetings, collating actions and following up to ensure progress
• Sharing best practice and improving processes, tools and systems as needed
• Maintaining documents in Google Workspace, including budgets, reports and committee lists.
• Delivering volunteer training on new processes or systems
• Coordinating awards and grants, updating web content and communicating with applicants
• Managing committee recruitment, posting roles and handling applications
• Working with internal teams such as Membership, and Marketing to provide seamless support.

About the Role

Join us as an Outreach Worker and play a frontline role in supporting adults experiencing homelessness in Middlesbrough. You’ll be out in the community—often during early‑morning outreach—building trust with people sleeping rough, meeting them on their terms, and connecting them with safe accommodation, health support and opportunities that strengthen resilience and wellbeing. Working within a trauma‑informed, strengths‑based model, you’ll help clients overcome barriers and take positive steps toward stability and independence. 

In this dynamic, multi‑agency role, you’ll deliver targeted outreach, attend local drop‑ins, and advocate for coordinated, compassionate responses across housing, health, substance‑use and justice services. We are recruiting for an Emotional Mental Health Worker to support young people aged 11-25 living in Crawley and surrounding areas.

Mind The Gap Emotional Health Support offers young people an alternative way of accessing mental health support. The service offers support to young people who are struggling to find or engage with the right services. This support offer is youth-work based non-clinical support. Working primarily from Crawley Youth Advice Centre, you will deliver face-to-face sessions using evidence-based interventions to engage, educate and empower young people around issues affecting their emotional wellbeing.

Key responsibilities: 

• Offer seven sessions of support to each young person, including initial needs assessment and weekly sessions
• Lead on facilitation of emotional well-being and psycho-educational groups
• Support young people transitioning from specialist CAMHS/AMHS services
• Work systemically with parents/carers, educators, and health professionals
• Develop links with agencies and make appropriate referrals
• Promote service user participation and voice
•  Comply with safeguarding, health & safety, data protection and EDI policies

Qualifications, knowledge, and experience

• Knowledge of issues facing young people, especially those socially excluded
• Experience in safeguarding children and young people
• Ability to support appropriate mental health pathways
• Training in emotional wellbeing interventions or qualification in youth work
• Understanding of short-term support models
