The Role

The purpose of the role is to win vacancies and place ex-offender candidates into sustainable paid employment with local employers. Working towards a promotion to Manager within 6 months, you will then also provide leadership to the Preston office team, being responsible for the management and Recruitment Consultant responsibilities for 70% of your role.

Duties and Tasks

There are four main areas of work, all of which are vital to achieving the key positive outcome for the individuals we support: sustained meaningful employment.

1. New Employer Engagement

Expanding our network of employers to generate a regular flow of job opportunities, allowing us to place our candidates into work.

This will require new business development and excellent ongoing relationship management. You will identify which jobs are most sought after by our typical candidates and which are more specialist or occasional opportunities. Equally, you will gravitate towards employers who demonstrate agility and responsiveness in their hiring processes. Your client contacts are more likely to be business owners, divisional managers and site supervisors than social value or EDI teams.

You will:

• Proactively approach local employers who are advertising paid jobs that could suit current candidates on our books, for example through online searching using keywords for skills and industry sectors, sending over candidate details with the goal of obtaining recruitment instructions and securing interviews.
• Speculatively approach organisations that are not currently recruiting but are likely to have suitable vacancies in the future that match the typical skillsets of our candidates.
• Maintain a follow-up database of active and prospective clients and take ownership of industry sectors or geographical areas, in consultation with colleagues, to avoid duplication and maximise reach.
• Visit employers to explain our services, answer questions around protocols for interviewing or hiring ex-offenders and gain a clear understanding of the workplace environment, travel routes and employer requirements.
• Select and submit candidates who you consider suitable for vacancies, advocating for each individual based on your knowledge of them, their references, and the positive changes and efforts you have witnessed.
• Be prepared to positively challenge employer assumptions where you believe reluctance to consider a candidate is unfounded.
• Disclose the candidate’s offending history and risk profile, emphasising their personal attributes and work strengths.
• Guide employers through the interview and hiring process in close consultation with the candidate.

2. Job Finder Support

Interviewing ex-offenders, offering one-to-one job coaching to help them into work and providing ongoing mentoring during their first 12 months of employment.

Ours is a face-to-face, holistic and wraparound service that culminates in our candidates finding good jobs that last, with a wide array of socially inclusive employers. Our job finder support can begin in custody and continue through the gate into the community, or start within the community. Typically, we work with an individual for between one and three months to establish work readiness and continue supporting them for up to a year after they secure employment. Many people remain in touch and return to us for subsequent jobs over a period of years, and we consider our door to always be open.

You will:

• Conduct one-to-one assessments with job-seeking candidates and, using your professional judgement, either accept them directly into our paid-work search services or refer them to partner organisations for pre-employability support where barriers such as substance misuse or homelessness remain significant.
• Work with candidates over several weeks and months as a job mentor, meeting regularly to support all aspects of their job search.
• Help craft effective CVs and disclosure letters, ensuring candidates understand the facts and disclosure obligations relating to their spent and unspent convictions.
• Check that candidates have the correct Right to Work documentation and arrange replacement birth certificates and National Insurance letters where required.
• Book candidates onto relevant third-party training courses, including CSCS cards, HGV driver training and renewable energy qualifications.
• Encourage candidates’ own job search activity, including teaching them how to use online job boards and supporting them to complete online application forms.
• Submit candidates for opportunities available through our network of inclusive employers and proactively seek additional vacancies on their behalf.
• Organise interviews, ensuring candidates have the means to travel and appropriate interview clothing, providing support where required.
• Follow up after interviews, helping candidates manage expectations, process outcomes and rebuild confidence where applications have been unsuccessful.
• Confirm job starts with both candidate and employer, ensuring candidates have access to any required workwear and support with travel-to-work costs.
• Provide practical support where needed, including food parcels, hygiene packs, pre-loaded SIM cards, clothing and utility top-ups.

In-Work Support

After employment begins, there can often be unforeseen challenges facing newly employed candidates, particularly recent prison leavers. These may be practical, emotional or lifestyle-related. The strongest opportunity to advocate for a candidate and help sustain employment comes from having built trusted relationships with both the individual and their employer.

You will:

• Advise employers on successfully onboarding new employees during their first few weeks and months in work.
• Help employers understand and accommodate any additional support needs, such as housing transitions, medical requirements or probation appointments.
• Be aware of and navigate any negative Google or media reporting about a candidate’s previous offending, including advising on measures to protect privacy and reputation where appropriate.
• Remain in regular contact with candidates during their first 12 months in employment through check-in calls and meetings.
• Record all candidate and employer interactions and outcome reporting on the Itris recruitment CRM database.

3. Management of the Preston Team (Within Six Months)

You will:

• Line manage and develop the Preston office’s Recruitment Consultants, Trainee Recruitment Consultants and Resourcer, leading by example across business development and candidate support activities.
• Run the Preston office efficiently and effectively, ensuring the charity can carry out its work and, alongside the Operations Director, help develop, agree and implement business, operational and annual plans.
• Identify appropriate methods for monitoring office performance and report regularly to the Operations Director on performance against business, operational and annual plans and budget expectations.
• Ensure the office is aware of best practice and consistently works to achieve this within the constraints set by the Trustees and available resources.
• Facilitate regular group clinical supervision sessions for yourself and all team members.

4. External and Internal Relations

You will:

• Maintain and extend a network of referral partners who can direct candidates to us for job finder support, including charities, Jobcentres, probation services and police teams.
• Cultivate these relationships through regular visits, communication and updates.
• Assist in developing the charity’s local public profile and foster positive relationships with government, statutory, voluntary, private sector and other external stakeholders.
• Monitor changes in the external environment that may affect the charity, proactively advising the Operations Director and taking appropriate action where necessary.

OUR ORGANISATION

Cynthia Spencer Hospice Charity funds specialist end of life care for patients with life-limiting illness, supporting their loved ones and those who care for them across West Northamptonshire.

In the last year alone the Specialist Palliative Care team had 15,923 contacts with the community of West Northamptonshire. 242 patients were cared for by the inpatient unit, and the Specialist Palliative Care Consultant recorded 1406 total contacts which equates to almost 30 per week. We also funded palliative care services for thousands of patients and their families including through Wellbeing Services, Bereavement Services, and Hospice@Home.

THE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity for an administrator to join our growing and dynamic team, working closely with the Finance, Supporter Care and Income Generation teams. Key areas of responsibility include income processing, management of our donor CRM databases and administrating communications to all our supporters.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Maintaining the donor CRM database (Donorflex) with accurate records, including regular cleansing and updating.
• Efficient & effective processing of income from supporters (through cash, cheque, card, online giving, donation buckets/tins) and supporting banking administration
• Liaise with the  Income Generation team to ensure all donations are correctly coded.
• Provide administrative support for the management and organisation of collection tins and tubs, including tracking, distribution, and recording returns.
• Administration of thank you communications to all our supporters in a sensitive, timely manner.
• First point of contact for external enquiries, via telephone and email, and responding to supporter enquiries by phone and email promptly
• Ordering and distributing fundraising materials and resources, and assisting supporters throughout their fundraising journey
• Providing general administrative support to the wider organisation as required

The role

To support the team of Recruitment Consultants to place ex-offender candidates into sustainable paid employment with local employers, as the first point of contact for new candidates; also to offer comprehensive administrative support in candidate data collection and reporting

Key Responsibilities

1. Carry out telephone registrations and first screening interviews with all new candidates, to identify initial motivation, suitability and matching for The Recruitment Junction’s services, and its job opportunities

• The central role of a Recruitment Resourcer is to find and qualify candidates for each of the roles the Recruitment Consultants are trying to fill.
• This covers the full recruitment process, so Resourcers typically spend their days responding to incoming applications, placing job adverts to attract candidates, and conducting searches on the company database to find candidates with relevant skills.
• Call candidates to discuss their experience and identify whether they will be a good fit for the services and available roles.
• Most of these tasks will be carried out on the phone, although there will be times where Resourcers meet face-to-face with employer-clients or candidates to discuss their roles.
• All candidates have a criminal record and for many this can feel like an almost insurmountable barrier to gaining or returning to work; self-confidence can be low and there is often a lot of regret or shame.
• The role of the Resourcer requires an approach which is empathetic and sensitive, speaking hope into people’s situations and conveying the sincere belief that each person has the ability to find purposeful and fulfilling work, regardless of their past.

2. Manage the process of candidate data collection and outcomes reporting, to allow The Recruitment Junction to satisfy the reporting requirements of its funders and commissioners

• Record candidate information on the internal CRM database (as well as any other proprietary databases as required by funders or commissioners), ensuring that all registration forms, data privacy consent and other necessary candidate documentation are properly completed and filed.
• Carry out ID and Right to Work checks on new candidates, ensuring results are properly recorded.
• Work with the team to ensure that regular internal reporting on outcomes takes place in a way that is accurate and timely and helps the charity to learn and adapt its programmes as needed.

3. Carry out other general administrative duties as required

Under the direction of the Manager, carry out general administrative duties as required, including but not limited to:

• First point of contact by phone and email for all candidates and external referral partners.
• Greeting visitors and offering teas and coffees.
• Maintaining a stock of all office supplies, including replenishing the in-house food bank.
• Supporting the team in any way required, including checking and answering phones and emails in their absence, helping to draft CVs, booking people onto training courses, ordering ID documents and shopping for interview outfits with candidates.
• Collating information required for grant applications and contract bids/tenders.
• Assisting with fundraising activities, including maintaining the donor database.
• Financial record-keeping and data entry.
• Participating in at least one fundraising or crowd-funder event per year and, on an ongoing basis, seeking to build up the charity’s donor base through soliciting monthly and one-off donations from across your friendship, business and church networks.

Key areas of responsibility include extracting data from our  CRM databases (Donorflex), reviewing accuracy and translating it into meaningful insights that support the Income Generation team.

• Analyse donor behaviour, segment supporters and monitor retention.
• Design, build and maintain reports and dashboards using Power BI, ensuring insight is clearly presented and genuinely useful for decision-making. 
• Use of Power BI tools to extract and analyse data, to be presented to Finance, Commercialand Income Generation teams.
• Maintain and develop cross-organisational data reports, including quarterly and reports for the Board
• Produce reports, dashboards and communicate meaningful insights to inform fundraising decisions.
• Identify trends, patterns and opportunities within the data.
• Ensure data is accurate and fit for purpose.

Scotty’s Little Soldiers is a UK-based charity dedicated to supporting military children and young people (0 to 25 years) who have experienced the death of a parent who served in the British Armed Forces. Founded in 2010 by Nikki Scott following the death of her husband, Corporal Lee Scott, the charity offers a unique blend of emotional, practical, and educational support to over 800 young people.  We are currently embarking on an exciting journey which will see the charity evolve to support anyone affected by a military-connected bereavement and ultimately empower a community of more than 25,000 bereaved individuals and their families by 2035.

Scotty’s is seeking an experienced bereavement counsellor, with a strong focus on Scotty’s adult community, to join our small but effective team. The role involves supporting adults, and also children and young people affected by bereavement, which may include death in service, illness, or suicide.

• The SUPPORT Programme provides the very best emotional health and wellbeing support to children and adults who are struggling to cope following a bereavement.

Our Bereavement Counsellor will be a valuable member of the SUPPORT Programme, delivering online 1:1 and group support to those who need it most.But all four programmes work closely together (we call this the Families team).

Role Mission:

The Scotty’s Bereavement Counsellor will work with our adults, children and families who are struggling with their grief to help them understand their feelings, develop coping skills and build their new life. 

This role will be accountable for: 

Providing emotional support, counselling and therapeutic interventions to individuals and families coping with grief and loss. The role involves working compassionately and ethically with anyone affected by military connected bereavement, helping them process their emotions and find ways to adjust to life after a loss.

The Bereavement Counsellor will work collaboratively with the SUPPORT team and the wider Families team to ensure that all work undertaken by Scotty’s is delivered in a supportive and sensitive manner and that the whole Scotty community receive exemplary care.

What are the 3-month goals for this role: 

• Within three months the Counsellor will have developed their knowledge of the range of services that Scotty’s offers to our community so that they can advise and support individuals and families in their case load.

• Will have begun to learn and understand the Scotty Values and the Scotty Way (we do things a little differently and our culture is very important to us and our community!). 

• Would have begun supporting the community members assigned to their caseload by the Head of SUPPORT.This will be through online 1:1 delivery, and some group online sessions, drop ins or workshops. 

• Will have completed all necessary safeguarding training and be part of the Scotty’s Safeguarding team.

• Begun attending peer supervision sessions with the SUPPORT team. 

What are the 6-month goals for this role: 

• Will have established a caseload across the Scotty community, as assigned by the Head of SUPPORT.

• Will have begun to support the wider Families team by attending Scotty events.At Scotty events, a SUPPORT team member often attends to provide support to any families who may need it on the day (this may require occasional weekend or evening work). 

• Will be working cohesively with the Families team and the wider Scotty team to share knowledge and skills.Scotty’s values a culture of learning and strives to ensure team members can learn from one another’s expertise. 

• Will be contributing to peer supervision sessions to ensure all SUPPORT team members are able to give the best support to families.

• Regularly meeting with your selected external supervisor.

What are the 9-month goals for this role: 

• Will be supporting a caseload as assigned by the Head of SUPPORT, with emerging impact data showing the outcomes of your support.Scotty’s uses a range of practitioner and impact measurement tools to monitor the impact of SUPPORT team’s work.

• Will be a valuable member of the SUPPORT programme, Families and the wider Scotty team. Providing high-quality bereavement counselling and support directly to the Scotty Community and by working collaboratively with other team members. 

• Will be contributing to developing resources and workshops that support the Scotty Community. 

What are the key responsibilities of this role:  

• Managing a caseload and delivering one to one counselling sessions as assigned by the Head of SUPPORT. This will predominantly be online delivery using Teams video calling but also other formats as needed by community members. 

• Facilitate group therapy or support groups when appropriate. 

• Conduct initial assessment to determine clients’ needs and suitability for counselling.

• Maintaining accurate and confidential case notes in a timely fashion using our CRM in accordance with data protection and organisational policies. 

• Adhering to all safeguarding requirements and operating as part of the Scotty Safeguarding team to maintain the highest standards across the charity.

• Part of a team creating and developing resources and materials for the whole Scotty community.

• Working collaboratively within the SUPPORT team, including peer supervision. 

• Working collaboratively within the Families team to ensure that Scotty community members and families are directed to the appropriate services in a timely fashion.This could include directing people you are working with towards our educational grants, our respite breaks, our events, our START support or our advocacy.

• Liaise with other professionals such as GPs, CAMHS, social workers, education or other professionals where appropriate to ensure holistic care and management of risk. 

• Attending at least six (mandatory) face to face team days, normally located in the East of England, alongside some in person team meetings.

• Participate in regular clinical supervision and continuing professional development.

Skillset and Experiences Required:  

Essential 

• Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).We may consider applications from practitioners with HCPC or NCPS membership too.

• Level 4 Counselling / Psychotherapy Diploma or above. 

• Significant experience (post qualification), providing bereavement counselling to adults and some experience of counselling with children and young people (0-25yrs). 

• Experience and training with NICE-approved talking therapies.

• Strong understanding of grief, bereavement, trauma and the impact of loss, and experience supporting traumatic bereavement or more complex grief presentations. 

• Demonstrable safeguarding knowledge and experience 

• Confident in professional judgement, boundaries, safeguarding and confidentiality.

• Willing and able to support lower-level emotional support needs as well as more complex presentations, depending on service demand. 

• Experience of managing a complex caseload effectively.

• Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings for drop-ins, later appointments or events in line with service need. 

• Excellent computer literacy. 

• Ability to engage with peer supervision and external supervision (organised by Scotty’s) effectively. 

• Ability to engage with a culture of continuous learning and support the learning of others.

• Reflective, curious and open to feedback. 

• Willingness to work flexibly as part of a team and independently to meet the needs of the service.

• Commitment to professional standards and ethical practice. 

Desirable 

• Military-connected experience or knowledge would be an advantage but not essential if you have a willingness to learn. 

• Experience of group work and peer support delivery would be helpful. Willingness to lead on these sessions as required. 

• Experience in end-of-life care and pre-bereavement work. 

• Experience of online counselling.

• Experience and training in counselling linked to suicide and suicidal ideation. 

• Knowledge of or experience using assessment tools such as WEMWBS or CBSQs. 

• Knowledge of statutory services and systems.

About the role:

We are looking for an experienced Bereavement Counsellor, with an interest in spirituality, to provide high-quality clinical assessments and individual bereavement support for adults needing to access our Bereavement Service.

This key role will play a significant part in enabling us to deliver our commitment to holistic, person-centered care and develop our Bereavement Service.

About You:

You will be a qualified counsellor, with a strong understanding of the theories of bereavement and significant loss, insight into human development and at least two years’ post-qualification experience.

Skilled in conducting clinical assessments and providing culturally sensitive, empathic, non-judgmental, bereavement counselling for adults (in-person and via electronic media), your calm, professional approach will complement your excellent interpersonal skills.

About the Role

This is a key operational role at the heart of The Loss Foundation's support services. You'll coordinate our programme of bereavement support events and act as the main point of contact for our extraordinary community of volunteers who give their time to ensure nobody faces cancer bereavement alone. We're entering an exciting period of growth. Over the next few years we're expanding our national support services, growing our volunteer community and investing in new ways to reach more bereaved people than ever before. This role will play an important part in making that happen.

Although the role doesn't include formal line management, you'll have real ownership of your area and the opportunity to shape how our services develop. Event Coordination

We are recruiting a Member Network Account Manager to join our Member Networks team at the British Psychological Society for a fixed period of 6 months starting in October 2026.

The team supports over 60 psychology‑focused member networks, each with its own specialist interests and passions. As Member Network Account Manager, you will be the main contact for several Member Networks. This includes advising on governance, finance, volunteer recruitment, events and wider activity planning. About the team

The Philanthropy Team raises income for Impetus and for Impetus partner charities. The team consists of 15 staff. Impetus has an annual income of c.£11 million which we are looking to grow significantly within the next few years. The team is led by two Directors of Philanthropy and Partnerships. 

The Philanthropy Team works with major donors, corporates and grant making trusts, as well as collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to ensure we make a compelling case to generate new financial commitments and wider support for our work. The team also deliver a high-quality engagement programme of volunteering and pro bono for Impetus’s corporate supporters.   

Impetus is driven by a shared belief in tackling the barriers that hold back young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in education and employment. Alongside investing extensive financial and non-financial support in our charity partners through our Investment Team we also seek to influence decision makers to design and implement evidence led policy and direct new resources to get young people the support they need through our Public Affairs team. About this role

The Engagement Manager is an experienced professional who plays a key role in supporting donor engagement across all Impetus donors, enabling the team to provide best practice and high-quality donor stewardship and a platform for the renewal of key philanthropic gifts.

The Engagement function is responsible for pro bono and volunteering. Reporting to the Head of Engagement, the Engagement Manager is responsible for supporting the successful delivery and continuous improvement of the volunteering programme, ensuring it delivers high-quality opportunities, contributes to agreed KPIs and evolves in line with the needs of funders and the organisation. 

The postholder will account manage key relationships with mid-level supporters and internal stakeholders, working across teams to deliver meaningful and well-coordinated engagement opportunities. They will contribute to identifying and developing new opportunities for the volunteering and pro bono programmes that respond to funder interests and portfolio needs. 

In addition, they will manage relationships with mid-level pro bono supporters, taking them through the full pro bono journey from project matching and onboarding through to stewardship and ongoing support.

This is a cross-functional role that collaborates closely with the Investment team, wider Philanthropy team, Public Affairs team and other stakeholders to ensure a consistent and excellent donor experience.

Key responsibilities

Volunteering programme  

• Account manage relationships linked to volunteering across corporates, individuals and grant-making trusts, ensuring engagement is maintained and escalating strategic issues or risks where appropriate.
• Support or lead meetings, alongside fundraising account managers where appropriate, with funders to understand their volunteering interests and contribute to the development of suitable engagement opportunities.
• Support account managers in ensuring consistent donor engagement throughout annual giving cycles, including tracking, reporting, and communications.
• Contribute to the development of the volunteering function to ensure the programme offers a range of high-quality opportunities suitable for different funder types and aligned to organisational priorities.
• Identify and suggest new volunteering opportunities based on charity needs and funder interests, working with the Head of Engagement to ensure strategic alignment across the programme.
• Lead delivery of the mentoring programme within agreed plans and frameworks.

• Manage relationships with mid-level pro bono funders, supporting delivery across the full engagement process from identifying suitable projects and matching opportunities through to onboarding, delivery and stewardship.
• Work with the Head of Engagement, internal teams and charity partners to scope projects and support matching pro bono funders to suitable opportunities.

Essential

About the role 

Working across multiple teams, you will manage all aspects of the event from programme development, speaker and delegate management, and ticketing systems through to sponsorship support, on-site delivery and post-event evaluation. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering a flagship event that will strengthen learning, collaboration and influence across the sector.

Incremental hours increase over 9 month fixed term are planned as:

3 days/week (months 1-3) → 4 days/week (months 4-6) → 5 days/week (months 7-9) 

About you

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

• Significant experience delivering conferences or large-scale events from planning through to evaluation.
• Excellent project management skills, including budget, timeline and risk management.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and relationships.
• Confidence using event, registration and digital management systems.
• A proactive, organised and solution-focused approach, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

1. Event Coordination and Delivery

1.1: Coordinate and deliver regular community engagement activities, including; coffee mornings and

support events.

1.2: Organise and facilitate regular wellbeing and social activities, such as; walks or group sessions.

1.3: Represent the organisation at regional events, including supporting fundraising and CYP teams

when required.

1.4: Co-lead on bookings and coordination of Ty Uchaf, our respite house.

2. Awareness, Training and Engagement

2.1: Lead on regional awareness training delivery for non-emergency services and community-based

organisations.

2.2: Deliver additional 2wish training programmes as required, including Children & Young People

(CYP) and Bereavement in workplace support training.

2.3: Lead awareness and advocacy activities with local ‘support champions’, including professionals

within non-emergency services.

3. Partnership and Network Development

3.1: Actively engage with local bereavement networks through attendance at meetings, hosting

information stands and building strong professional relationships across the region.

3.2: Develop and maintain effective links with community partners to expand reach and awareness of

services.

4. Volunteer Support

4.1: Act as a key local contact for volunteers.

4.2: Support the recruitment, training and retention of volunteers in collaboration with the wider

team.

5. Administration, Monitoring and Reporting

5.1: Maintain and take ownership of relevant systems and spreadsheets, including those used for:

1.10: To attend weekend and evening community events in support of the charity as necessary

1.11: Participate as and when required in team meetings and one-to-one meetings, and

undertake, as appropriate, courses/training/other developmental activities, which is relevant to

the role

services and activities provided
