The Company
Start Network is made up of more than 90 non-governmental organisations across five continents, ranging from large international organisations to local and national NGOs. Our programmes allow members to deliver humanitarian action around the world.
Our mission is to create a new era of humanitarian action that will save even more lives. We aren’t driven by media headlines or political will, we’re here for the communities affected by and at risk of crises.
We are an organisation committed to doing things differently. For some roles, we need more technical humanitarian expertise, but for other roles, we are looking for relevant transferable skills, the right attitude, and a passion to bring change.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced and relationship-focused Senior Foundation & Institutional (F&I) Relationships Officer to join our Fundraising team. You will manage a portfolio of foundation and institutional funders, delivering excellent account management and stewardship while helping to secure continuation and increased funding.
You will play an important role across the full grant lifecycle, from developing compelling applications and donor communications through to reporting, compliance and ongoing relationship management. You will also support new business activity through prospect research, proposal development and funder cultivation, working closely with colleagues across Fundraising, Campaigns and Finance.
About you
You are an experienced fundraising professional with a strong understanding of trust, foundation and statutory funding and a proven ability to develop positive, long-term relationships with institutional donors. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and can turn complex information into compelling funding proposals, reports and donor communications.
Highly organised and detail-focused, you are comfortable managing multiple priorities, coordinating grant activity and using your initiative to identify opportunities and solve problems. You enjoy working collaboratively across teams, are confident engaging with funders and senior colleagues, and are motivated by securing sustainable funding that enables Global Witness to deliver meaningful change.
