Associate Director, Global Donor Experience & Engagement 

Role type: Permanent; full-time or part-time hours considered, minimum 0.8 FTE

Location: Godalming, UK (hybrid working pattern 2x days in the office per week). The office is located close to Godalming station, with direct trains from/to London Waterloo in approximately 45 minutes. 

Salary: £65,000 -£70,000 per annum (depending upon skills and experience)

About the role  

As our Associate Director, Global Donor Experience & Engagement, you’ll lead the development of our fundraising narratives, storytelling, high-impact communications, digital media and events across digital and offline channels, ensuring a consistent and powerful donor experience at every touchpoint. 

This is a new role and a member of the Fundraising Senior Management Team. You’ll need to be a strategic partner, who is able to make an early impact, which will help to enable our fundraising teams to strengthen donor relationships, increase engagement and create the conditions for sustainable and transformational income growth.

As our Associate Director, Global Donor Experience & Engagement you’ll be responsible for (but not limited to):

• Lead global fundraising engagement strategy- Shapingclearobjectives, plans and success measures that align with organisational priorities and fundraising ambitions.
• Strengthen supporter engagement and stewardship- Developing persuasive cases for support, donor communications, engagementplansand experiences that deepen long-term relationships.

• Shape brand,propositionsand content- Ensuring fundraising engagement is audience-led, compelling, values-led and rooted in CIWF’s mission and case for support.
• Lead and collaborate across teams- Leading a newly formed team and working closely with Fundraising, Communications, the CEO Office, internationalcolleaguesand external partners.
• Use insight to improve performance- Using data,feedbackand evaluation to improve supporter experience, engagementactivityand continuous improvement.

About you 

To succeed in this exciting role, you will need to have significant previous experience at a similar level in fundraising communications, donor engagement, events, marketing or supporter experience, ideally within a charity or not-for-profit setting. You’ll need to be a confident strategic leader with exceptional storytelling and editorial skills, a strong understanding of donor motivations and supporter journeys, with the ability to translate organisational strategy into compelling fundraising narratives. 

Skills and experience you’ll need to bring as our Associate Director, Global Donor Experience & Engagement:

• Senior-level experience in fundraising communications, donor engagement, events or supporter experience within a charity or not-for-profit setting.
• Proven ability to develop persuasive cases for support, donor propositions and supporter communications that translate strategy into compelling fundraising narratives.

Purpose

GuildHE is seeking an ambitious Policy Officer to play a pivotal role in the next phase of our organisation’s growth. Working directly with the Head of Research Policy and the Policy Manager (Skills, Innovation, International), you will help monitor, analyse, and respond to policy initiatives within the research and innovation space.  You will support a range of member-focused events and activities to ensure staff in our member institutions are well-informed and supported. This includes supporting the management of the GuildHE Research Consortium and leading on the organising and delivery of our flagship annual PGR Doctoral Festival, helping our members develop, share best practices, and maximise their research impact.

Key Responsibilities 

Policy Analysis & Communication

1. Horizon Scanning: Monitor government departments (e.g., DSIT, DfE), funding and regulatory bodies (UKRI, Research England, OfS, Innovate UK), and other stakeholders for policy updates, funding calls, and consultation launches in relation to Research and Innovation policy.

2. Briefings: Produce concise policy briefings, data summaries, and position papers for GuildHE members and leadership on key Research and Innovation issues (e.g., REF, knowledge exchange, KEF, commercialisation, research culture, open research). Develop high-quality external reports, consultations, blogs and other materials articulating member challenges and opportunities.

3. Consultation Drafts: Assist senior policy colleagues in gathering evidence, analysing member feedback, collaborating with sector stakeholders, and drafting compelling arguments that articulate the unique perspectives of GuildHE institutions.

4. Share Best Practice: Identify case studies across the GHE membership to share best practice internally and externally and drive national conversations about new ways of working and operating in the sector.

5. Policy issues: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of national and institutional research and innovation policies indicated by the Head of Research Policy or Policy Manager (Research, Innovation, International).

Member Support & Consortium Coordination

1. Member Engagement: Maintain regular, positive communication with research and innovation leads across member institutions, fostering a collaborative network.  Support relevant GuildHE member networks, including the Knowledge Exchange, Innovation and Place network, promoting communication, collaboration, and best practice exchange to inform evidence-based policy development.

2. Member development: Provide support for timely implementation of good practice guidelines and associated resources, within agreed budgets. This includes assisting with members' business development initiatives, such as Research Degree Awarding Powers.

3. Event Delivery: Develop and deliver content for events including the GuildHE Research Consortium meetings, the Research and Knowledge Exchange Symposium, PGR Doctoral Festival, the PGR Network for global majority students and sandpits/match events, workshops and roundtables. 

4. Shared Services: Collaborate with other GHE teammates to maintain and deliver our shared services (i.e. research outputs repository, shared postgraduate online training, research impact tracking and researcher development tools) and explore new services in response to members’ needs

5. PGR Students: Develop and deliver initiatives for postgraduate students and early career researchers (e.g., our PGR Support Programme and associated student networks), working closely with the Policy Manager (Student Experience) to ensure postgraduate students are reflected in broader student support policies.

1. Actively support the delivery of the GuildHE strategy.

2. To contribute positively to a small, professional team focused on delivering excellence in their members’ interests.

3. Support GuildHE events and communication activities as appropriate - including campaigns, writing articles, blogs and press releases.

4. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders at HE institutions and sector agencies, including senior leaders, academics, and policy staff.

5. Gather feedback from HE institutions and use this to inform the continuous improvement of our services.

6. Demonstrate a proactive approach to embedding EDI principles within all policy development and advocacy efforts.

7. Represent GuildHE externally on a range of HE sector groups and projects and deputise for the Head of Research Policy or the Policy Manager (Skills, Innovation and International) as appropriate.

Part-funded by a generous donation from Backstage Trust, this is a new and pivotal role designed to transform Theatre Centre's fundraising capacity by strengthening systems, increasing income diversity, and building long-term financial resilience. The postholder will play a key role in helping the organisation capitalise on its artistic impact and case for support, while building momentum towards its 75th anniversary in 2028.

This role will keep us focused on our development strategy and will have support from across the whole company: the Board, Executive and the core TC team. We have been steadily building our foundations and have some good funding relationships in place, committed individual givers, a strong, evidenced case for support, some incredible stats and feedback and above all an inspiring and exciting programme of work to offer for young people, artists and teachers across the country.

Our Development Manager will help us to bring in resources so that we can continue share our high-quality, specialist work as far as we can. We see development as a collaborative effort and we understand the need for the whole team to support development, that effective fundraising needs to be resourced with realistic timelines and expectations.

Phase 1 - Foundation: Build on our strong systems and processes and give us consistency in fundraising delivery, including building a robust pipeline of Trusts & Foundations and developing place-based income in Crawley and the Gatwick area.

Phase 2 - Private Phase: Expand individual giving by deepening relationships, developing major donors, and securing multi-year funding partnerships.

Phase 3 - Public Bring together all strategic and fundraising priorities in our 75th year, amplifying them into a public campaign that advocates for our change-making work.

Quest for Learning is an education charity working to close the gap for primary school children in Oxfordshire who are falling behind due to disadvantage.

We work closely with schools to deliver targeted, evidence-led literacy and numeracy programmes that help children build the skills, confidence and foundations they need to thrive. Many of the children we support are growing up in poverty, facing barriers linked to low family literacy, unmet additional needs, unstable home circumstances, or limited access to wider opportunities.

Help shape the future Bristol Avon Rivers Trust (BART).

This is much more than a fundraising role.

What You'll Be Doing

You will:

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. We have embarked on our 10-year strategy for ending homelessness. We know it is not inevitable. We know together we can end it.

• Partner with HR Managers to understand programme needs, plan for upcoming vacancies and align recruitment with organisational priorities.
• Contribute to developing tools, guidance and training that will help managers to recruit confidently and consistently.

Requirements

About you:

You will have strong experience leading a talent acquisition team to deliver end-to-end recruitment in an international or multi-site context. Confident using applicant tracking systems and recruitment technologies, you bring experience in direct sourcing and building talent pipelines for hard-to-fill roles. A collaborative and credible partner, you work effectively with stakeholders across the organisation and closely with HR operational teams.

You are proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working at pace, with the ability to balance competing priorities while maintaining sound judgement. You bring creativity and a continuous improvement mindset to recruitment practice, with a commitment to fair, transparent, and inclusive hiring.

Essential Experience

• Experience leading and supporting a talent acquisition team to deliver end-to-end recruitment support in an international context or multi-site organization.
• Proficient use of applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other recruitment technologies.
• Experience in direct sourcing, market mapping or talent pooling activities for hard to fill roles.
• Experience in collating HR data and developing periodic reports.
• Experience collaborating with HR Operations, payroll or administrative teams.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

• Strong understanding of best practice talent acquisition, and an ability to contextualise this to meet organisational needs
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of an organisation
• Demonstrated creativity to improve Talent Acquisition efficiencies, talent sourcing methodologies, and employer branding principles.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines and high-volume workloads.
• Ability to manage, motivate and develop a team

Essential Aptitude

• Proactive attitude to change with the ability to recommend improvements to process and practice, leading through to implementation.
• Demonstrated creativity and passion for talent sourcing methodologies, and employer branding principles.
• Proactive, collaborative, and adaptable in an evolving environment.
• Ability to work at pace and with a range of competing demands whilst maintaining excellent judgement

Desirable

• Experience using Workable ATS
• Experience in monitoring and reporting recruitment/EDI KPIs.
• Demonstrable understanding of optimising stakeholder experience and employer brand strengthening
• Experience of using an Employer of Record Service and/or dealing with employment for non-UK remote employees

Benefits

Remuneration

The starting salary will be £41,628, based on a 37.5 hour working week. MAG has a system of incremental pay increases, up to a limit, based on length of service in the role. Further information will be provided to the successful candidate.
