Battersea is entering an exciting phase of innovation and transformation during this second year of our new five-year strategy. With increased investment in income generation, we are strengthening our team to drive the growth to achieve our organisational goals.
This role sits within the Philanthropy, Partnerships & Commercial (PPC) team, made up of Philanthropy & Trusts, Corporate Partnerships & Commercial, Special Events & Stewardship, and Fundraising Operations.
Main purpose of the role:
The focus of the Philanthropy & Trusts team is to build a solid base of support through excellent stewardship of existing trusts and major donors alongside cultivation of new prospects, reached through prospect research and the networks of senior volunteers.
The key purpose of this Philanthropy Manager is to meet both financial and strategic KPIs, by managing a portfolio of key individual relationships and cultivating lapsed and colder prospects to support the long-term health of the Philanthropy portfolio. This role, together with Battersea’s other Philanthropy Managers, will also work closely with senior leadership, senior volunteers and other individuals to open up their networks and introduce new major donors to Battersea.
What we can offer you:
In return for your commitment to our cause and to recognise the value of our employees, Battersea offers a range of benefits to support the wellbeing of our employees. These include:
Our hybrid working model:
We operate a 50% onsite hybrid working model, with our office-based staff splitting their time between site based and home working. This enables our office-based staff to balance the benefits of home working with onsite collaboration and maintaining a connection to our cause.
Diversity and inclusion:
We are committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive experience for all staff, volunteers and trustees and those hoping to join us. We operate an anonymised shortlisting process and actively seek to ensure our process is fair and equitable for all.
We understand the value of diverse voices, perspectives, and experiences to help us deliver even more for our dogs and cats, and we welcome applicants from all sections of the community.
As a Disability Confident Committed Employer we will ask about any adjustments you may need at application and/or interview stage, and if you are offered a role with us, we’ll talk to you about any workplace adjustments you may need to help you perform at your best. If you would like to talk more about this, please contact us. Greyscale copies of the recruitment pack are also available on request.
More about us:
At Battersea, we aim to never turn away a dog or cat in need of help. We give each one lots of love, expert care and get to know their characters and quirks so we can find them a new home that’s just right for them. Join us and help us be here for every dog and cat, wherever they are, for as long as they need us.
Acceptable use of AI:
At Battersea, we value expertise. We recognise each candidate that applies to us will have a range of expertise they can offer us, so we want to hear about this in your own words. We understand the support that generative artificial intelligence (AI) software can offer but it can also lead to numerous applications presenting as generic and impersonal. This makes it difficult to gain understanding of your unique experience.
To best showcase yourself, we encourage you to write your responses without the assistance of AI. If you require the use of AI software to aid in completing your application, we ask you use the generative responses as a prompt for writing your answers and avoid copying and pasting. You must also ensure the information presented in your application accurately reflects your experience.
Closing date: 27th September 2026

Citizens UK
Citizens UK is the UK’s biggest, most diverse and most effective people-powered alliance. We bring communities and local organisations together to work on issues that matter; from campaigning for zebra crossings on dangerous roads, to reforming the immigration system, to the Living Wage campaign. We have a track record of winning change through hundreds of local and national campaigns. We know everyday people have the ability to shape the world around them. We believe that through developing local leaders, we can drive nationwide change and create community-led solutions to big and small problems.
Living Wage Foundation
The Living Wage movement began in 2001, after Citizens UK brought together communities in East London to discuss poverty and low pay. The campaign grew in momentum and soon required a mechanism to recognise employers who wanted to join the movement, which saw the establishment of the Living Wage Foundation in 2011.
Still part of Citizens UK today, the Living Wage Foundation (LWF) continues to work with community organisations to make sure the voices of both workers and businesses are part of the Living Wage movement. We now work with over 16,000 employers, benefitting over 490,000 people and winning over £4bn of better wages for people who need it most.
Citizens UK works with a broad base of institutions across the political spectrum. At the Living Wage Foundation, we take the same deliberately broad-based approach and accredit all organisations who pay the real Living Wage to their directly and indirectly employed staff and are committed to tackling in work poverty. As a team we work across a range of industries and sectors to achieve this mission. We seek pragmatic coalitions in order to progress specific campaigns, and partnership around a particular issue such as Living Wage, does not imply an endorsement of broader purpose and policies.
Purpose
At Citizens UK (CUK), our organisers and project staff work within communities to develop leaders, strengthen organisations, campaign for change and organise across difference. There are various project roles and operational, communication, finance and HR roles that support the organisation and project staff and organisers to deliver on this mission and work. This work is rewarding and can be challenging; it requires a personal commitment to inclusion, a willingness to listen and disagree respectfully, and an interest in working in an organisation where our staff, member institutions and leaders will come from a diversity of backgrounds and often hold views that may be very different from our own. More information about how we operate within this context and build trusted relationships across difference can be found on our website and is covered in induction. Onboarding and navigating this relational culture, and type of work, is supported by line managers and further training.
Main Responsibilities
As the Data and Membership Officer for the Living Wage Foundation (LWF), you will play a pivotal role in supporting the smooth running of our internal processes and supporting our network of nearly 17,000 accredited Living Wage employers. Your responsibilities will span data management, customer service, finance administration, and team support. Team support duties will include arranging logistics for team events, providing occasional administrative assistance to senior leadership, and ensuring internal handbooks and guidance remain current. Rural Media is a Herefordshire-based charity and production company that empowers rural young people and underserved communities to find their voice, develop their creative talent and use digital creativity to drive social change. Through our proven creative participation model, developed and refined over three decades, we support early-career creative talent, young rural people and underserved groups to gain the skills, confidence, and platforms for personal growth and societal change.
Over the next three years, Rural Media Charity will focus on two interconnected strategic priorities:
Rural Media is looking for an ambitious Strategic Partnerships Manager to build a brand-new corporate partnerships function from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to shape a role from scratch, backed by our CEO/Creative Director and a Strategic Partnerships Consultant, generating a six-figure income stream that will directly fuel our work with rural young people and underserved communities.
Working closely with our Development Director, Head of Youth Programmes and Head of Production, you'll identify, secure and grow partnerships with businesses who share our commitment to rural equality and youth opportunity — turning first conversations into lasting, mutually valuable relationships with a particular focus on supporting young people not in education, employment or training into real opportunities in the creative sector.
This is a varied role combining prospecting, pitching, negotiation, stewardship and ambassadorial work – whether that's crafting a partnership proposition, presenting to a board, or reporting back to a corporate supporter on the impact of their support.
We're looking for someone who is:
A proven relationship-builder with a track record of generating income, sponsorship or partnership value.
Confident engaging and influencing senior stakeholders, including at director and board level.
Skilled at developing compelling proposals, pitches and cases for support.
Comfortable managing a varied pipeline from first contact through to signed agreement.
Excited about widening opportunity for young people and underrepresented communities through corporate partnership.
At Rural Media, you'll join a friendly, ambitious team committed to using creativity to change lives and widen access to careers in the screen industries. If you'd like to help build a new income stream that transforms young lives, we'd love to hear from you.

Trusts & Foundations Fundraiser
Bethlehem Care & Hospice Trust
Salary: £34,000-£40,000 FTE, pro rata depending on experience | Hours: 14.8-18.5 hours per week (0.4-0.5 FTE) | Location: Home-based anywhere in the UK | Contract: 12 months initially, with a view to extension subject to funding and performance
Help sustain Palestine's first and only licensed palliative care service
Bethlehem Care & Hospice Trust (BCHT) is a small UK charity supporting the development of specialist palliative and hospice care in Palestine. In August 2023, the service we support became the first licensed palliative care service in Palestine. Since then, its specialist nurses have cared for more than 350 patients and their families and delivered more than 5,000 home visits.
The service has demonstrated what can be achieved. Our challenge now is to secure its future. We are investing in professional fundraising for the first time and are looking for an experienced Trusts & Foundations Fundraiser to help us build the sustainable income needed to protect and strengthen this pioneering service.
The opportunity
This is an unusually autonomous role in which you will work directly with BCHT's Trustees and colleagues in Palestine. You will take responsibility for developing income from charitable trusts, foundations and grant-making organisations: identifying prospects, developing compelling propositions, preparing high-quality applications and building long-term funder relationships.
We currently raise approximately £60,000-£80,000 each year against a core service requirement of around £150,000. Your initial focus will therefore be sustainability of the existing service, with opportunities subsequently to support its development and growth. Our Year 1 income target for this role is £70,000.
This role could be for you if you have proven experience of successful trusts and foundations fundraising; can demonstrate success in preparing grant applications; write persuasively; can research and develop a strong prospect pipeline; are highly organised; can work independently; and would value the opportunity to use your professional expertise to make a direct and measurable difference.
Experience of healthcare, hospice or palliative care, international development, small charities or faith-based organisations would be useful but is not essential.
BCHT is inspired by Christian values of compassion, dignity and service. Applicants should be sympathetic to the values and mission of the charity. The palliative care service we support is provided to people regardless of faith, ethnicity, background or ability to pay.
What we offer: flexible home-based working; 25 days' annual leave plus UK public/bank holidays, pro rata; and a workplace pension scheme with a 5% employer contribution, subject to scheme rules. You will have considerable scope to shape BCHT's approach to trusts and foundations fundraising and direct access to Trustees and decision-makers.
To apply, please submit your CV and a covering letter of no more than two pages explaining why you are interested in the role and how your experience meets its requirements. Please download the Recruitment Pack for further information.
Closing date: Friday 25 September 2026 | Interviews: Week commencing 5 October 2026 | Start: As soon as possible by agreement

Trusts and Grants Manager
Little Flowers Club
Salary: £35,000-£42,000 pro rata for 2/3 days per week
Location: Remote
Reporting to: CEO/ Founder
Every child deserves to feel safe, valued and capable of growth, whatever their starting point. That's the belief Little Flowers Club was built on.
We're a not-for-profit providing trauma-informed support for children and young people with SEN and complex, overlapping needs, through our Alternative Provision service in schools and settings across Gloucestershire, and our Stay & Play holiday clubs, giving SEN children a safe, sensory-friendly space during school closures.
Now we're looking for a Trusts and Grants Manager to secure the funding that makes this work possible.
The role
This is a brand-new, standalone fundraising role, and a genuinely flexible one. You'll own the trusts, foundations and statutory funding pipeline from end to end: spotting the right opportunities, writing applications that land, and keeping funders close so they come back again.
You'll work directly with our CEO to shape an income strategy built on trusts, grants and statutory funds, with real scope to make your mark from day one.
It's an ideal fit if you're an experienced freelance or part-time fundraiser looking for a role with genuine autonomy and immediate impact.
What you'll do
What you'll bring
Nice to have: experience fundraising for SEN, youth or community services; CRM implementation experience; knowledge of Gloucestershire's funding landscape.
How to apply
Charity People is managing this recruitment for Little Flowers Club. Send your CV and a cover letter setting out why you're right for the role to Philippa Randle.
Closing date: midday, Thursday 1 October
Interviews: online, week commencing 5 October
We can't wait to hear from you.
