What you'll be doing

You'll lead the development and delivery of an ambitious volunteering strategy that increases Newlife's capacity, reach and impact. Working across retail, supply chain, warehouse, fundraising and community-based activities, you'll significantly grow volunteer involvement over the next three years.

What we're looking for

Experience

About the Role  

As Funding and Compliance Officer, you will play a key role in managing the full assessment lifecycle, from answering applicants' queries and presenting at funding webinars, to assessing applications through to completion. You will review funding applications, undertake due diligence and present clear, well-evidenced funding recommendations to inform decision-making. 

Working closely with applicants, Lloyds Banking Group colleagues and external partners, you will  provide a responsive and professional service throughout the funding process. You will also ensure accurate grant management through Salesforce, ensuring exceptionally clean data for audit and research purposes. You will also contribute to improving how we work, using feedback and insight to enhance processes and practice across the team. 

Alongside this, you will support risk and wider compliance activity, helping to maintain strong governance and regulatory standards, including cross-organisational contract management.

You bring experience of grant-making or grant management, including assessment, compliance, contract management and reporting, ideally with exposure to safeguarding within a funding environment. You are confident applying criteria consistently and using sound judgement to inform decisions.

Individual Giving Officer 

Working Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday with some evenings and weekend work

The Role

Our Individual Giving programme is central to our fundraising strategy to increase our unrestricted, sustainable income. This is a key role in supporting the Individual Giving Manager to recruit and steward donors across a range of channels including face-to-face, telemarketing, direct mail and digital. You will have the opportunity to work across multiple programmes including regular giving, lottery, cash appeals, in-memory and legacy, as well as to play a key role in our matched funding Christmas campaign. This role will help to meet or exceed our annual targets which will help us provide the best care for patients, staff and loved ones at our hospitals. 

Key Tasks 

• Help to co-ordinate our match funded Christmas Campaign 
• Using evidence-based insights, support with the planning and implementation of several integrated direct marketing campaigns across a range of channels including direct mail, email, social, display advertising and newsletters including managing suppliers on concept creation, oversight of copy and creative and delivery schedules. Work with the IG Manager on performance analysis and learnings to enable enhancements and improvements  
• Support the IG Manager in the set up and operational management of our face-to-face fundraising campaigns for regular donor and lottery player recruitment. Including invoice processing, complaint handling, site management and training for third party fundraising teams  
• Work with the other IG Officer to optimise and improve our regular giving and lottery stewardship journeys. This will include researching and proofing content, engaging with supporters and looking for opportunities to cross-sell 
• Being proactive in writing up process documents and maintaining documents for Individual Giving Team  
• Day-to-day point of contact with external agencies including face-to-face agencies, creative agencies, printers and fulfilment houses  
• To support the Head of Supporter Engagement with the development of a legacy marketing programme 
• Support with the stewardship of our in-memory donors, including donors who set up tribute pages on MuchLoved 
• Work with hospital staff and stakeholders to gather content, encourage fundraising and manage our contactless stations  
• Work with our Supporter Services Team to monitor and action all feedback, speaking with supporters over the phone and via email, and properly recording supporter interactions on our database 
• Work with the Fundraising Operations team to open fundraising post and log cash, card and cheque donations 
• Send out stewardship materials to supporters from the office 
• Support the C&E Manager with fundraising event and donor stewardship as required 
• Work with the Communications Team to develop internal messaging for the Charity and King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust  
• Work with the Finance Team to process invoices and ensure activities are properly coded

The Role

We are looking for a motivated and skilled Project Development Co‑ordinator in the London area. You will deliver NEA’s work programme across the region, leading stakeholder engagement, community outreach and direct support to low‑income and vulnerable households. Travel within London and occasionally beyond will be required.

Medact is looking for an experienced campaigner and organiser to lead our work advocating for a justice-centred approach to securitisation and peace work. 

Background

Medact organises with the health community to win a world in which everyone can truly achieve and exercise their human right to health. We cover some of the most pressing national and global threats to health and wellbeing including institutional racism; climate change; human rights abuses; violent conflict; and rising inequality. We’re a member-led organisation, and our members are made up of a range of people who work in health including nurses, doctors, midwives, and clinical researchers.

We take an organising-centred approach to our work. We build community power by working in solidarity with health workers and the communities experiencing harm from the unjust systems we challenge. We run national campaigns, use research to expose injustice, and we support local organising groups across the country who lead most of our work.

About the role

The Transforming Peace & Security Campaigner will lead Medact’s campaigning for healthcare spaces which truly centre health and health justice, not surveillance, profiling and policing, in addition to providing ongoing strategic support to members organising against war and nuclear threat. 

This role will lead on our strategic priority area of Ending State Violence. The campaigner will implement campaign strategy focused on targeted organising to build coalitions and solidarity with marginalised communities, continuing our campaign against the Prevent duty in health, and supporting our Medact Abolitionist Approaches to Health Group. They’ll also work with our established Nuclear Weapons group to promote disarmament and encourage investment in nonviolent responses to conflict. The role involves maintaining and deepening existing partnerships with external organisations, grassroots groups and institutions. 

About you

This isn’t an entry-level role but you don’t need to have had a job in an NGO before or be a professional campaigner to be right for it. You might have worked with your local community to campaign on a social justice or health issue that you care about. Or you might be a healthcare worker who has seen the impact of securitisation on your patients and wants to challenge the encroachment of policing and profiling. You’ll have a strong understanding of power and how to work with others to create pressure for change. You need to be a great communicator, able to build trusting relationships with Medact members, academics, partner organisations, and community groups alike. We're looking for an experienced, compassionate and clinically confident Senior Psychological Therapist to join our growing Crisis Line team.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the frontline of crisis care, supporting members of the fire services community through some of their most difficult moments and helping them find a path forward. As a senior practitioner, you'll use your expertise to assess complex presentations, manage significant risk and provide immediate psychological support when it matters most.

About the role

As a Senior Psychological Therapist (Crisis Line), you will respond to individuals experiencing acute emotional distress, suicidal ideation, self-harm risk and other urgent mental health crises. Working remotely as part of a rotational shift pattern, you'll provide calm, focused and compassionate support through telephone, online chat and digital platforms.

Using advanced clinical skills and evidence-based approaches, you will assess risk, formulate safe and effective interventions, and support individuals to move from crisis towards safety and stability.

You will:

• Provide autonomous crisis assessment and immediate psychological intervention for people presenting with complex or escalating risk
• Conduct structured risk assessments and respond to suicide risk, safeguarding concerns and urgent mental health needs
• Develop collaborative safety and risk management plans
• Deliver support through telephone, online chat and digital platforms
• Contribute to clinical decision-making, escalation processes and safeguarding responses
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to support effective care pathways
• Maintain accurate, timely and high-quality clinical records
• Participate in supervision, reflective practice, service development and continuing professional development

About you

You will hold a Level 5/6 qualification in psychological therapy, counselling, psychotherapy or a related discipline, or have equivalent professional experience, alongside registration with a relevant professional body such as HCPC, BACP, BABCP or UKCP.

You will bring significant experience of supporting people experiencing emotional distress, crisis or complex mental health needs, with strong skills in risk assessment, safeguarding and brief psychological intervention.

We're particularly interested in people who can remain calm and effective under pressure, make sound autonomous clinical decisions, communicate with compassion and clarity, and work confidently within structured clinical frameworks in a remote, shift-based service.

Experience in crisis helplines, acute mental health services, emergency services, suicide prevention, trauma-informed practice or digital service delivery would be an advantage.

Working arrangements

This is a fully remote, UK-based role delivered through a rotational shift pattern, including evenings, weekends and overnight working.

The role includes participation in the senior clinical escalation on-call rota, with a requirement to provide a minimum of six weeks of cover each year.

Occasional national travel may be required.

Due to the nature of the role, enhanced safeguarding checks will be undertaken.

The NSPCC’s mission is to end cruelty to children by fighting for every childhood. To carry out its charitable work the NSPCC relies on the fundraising support of people across the UK for 90% of it’s income. Within fundraising our aim is to provide maximum resources for the NSPCC. The Associate Head of Mass Participation Fundraising is a member of the Supporter Led Fundraising Leadership Team and the Philanthropy & Partnerships Department. The role contributes to the overall leadership and management of the team and department as well as implementing the fundraising plans and strategies for the Engagement & Fundraising Directorate.

Mass Participation Fundraising is an important component in the NSPCC’s Engagement and Fundraising strategy. The post holder will lead and develop a first-class team to develop our portfolio, engaging and deepening the relationship with participants into long-term supporters and optimising the fundraising income they generate.

A key element of the role is to provide leadership across a diverse team, which includes Third Party Events, DIY fundraising and Schools Fundraising.
