Location: Islington based in our Central Office. You will be required to work Mondays in the office, plus an additional day within a service, with home working possible through the rest of the week. We're hiring an experienced payroll and pensions officer. You will join a small Payroll team, reporting to the Payroll and Pensions Manager. You will ensure efficient and accurate payroll operations, ensuring staff are paid correctly, on time. You will support in the preparation and processing of monthly payroll, coordinating effective and efficient end-to-end payroll and pensions administration, plus any relevant activity. The People and Culture team overall are a supportive and friendly team, who all have individual personalities and characteristics which bring us together to have a positive working environment as a team.

About the role
The postholder will provide specialised and tailored advice to clients where either their No Recourse status, or complex benefits issues are acting as barriers to them resolving their homelessness. This will be achieved through one-to-one support sessions, drop in advice sessions and advocacy with external organisations. The Migrant and Welfare Advisor will provide a holistic casework support to clients subject to immigration control who do not have access to public funds. They will use their in-depth knowledge of working with No Recourse clients, to assess and refer to suitable accommodation options, including Asylum Support accommodation, host accommodation and NRPF beds (where available). They will also hold responsibility for assessing care and support needs, making care act assessments (where relevant) and supporting clients to access strength-based opportunities, e.g. cycling workshops or other.
The Migrant and Welfare Advisor will also provide advice to clients with complex benefits issues. This may include challenging DWP decisions (via mandatory reconsiderations and appeals), advising and supporting clients with benefit sanctions and issuing pre-action protocol letters, where appropriate.

About this key role
Our successful candidate will deliver targeted ETE interventions through one-to-one support, group work and co-working alongside FFT caseworkers, plus support young people to progress into and sustain education, training and employment outcomes. You will also provide specialist advice and consultation to FFT caseworkers to strengthen ETE delivery across their caseloads, while also co-working complex cases requiring specialist input while maintaining FFT case ownership and delivering structured group work within PRUs, Alternative Provision and community settings.

The South East District are excited to advertise the opening for a full time District Mission Enabler to support the District, its churches, circuits and people, in mission. Home based, own transport is essential. There will be an expectation to attend the District Office in Crawley, Sussex, on occasion, as well as other locations across the South East District.

Peterborough Citizens is part of Citizens UK, a nationwide alliance that brings together local groups to campaign for social justice and community improvement. In Peterborough, it works with schools, faith groups, and community organisations to address issues like housing, safety, and opportunity. We’ve been active for five years, building local leadership and creating positive change through collective action.
This role will focus on delivering the Pride in Place: Listening to Leadership programme across Peterborough. The Community Organiser will support the delivery of a 12-month programme that moves from listening → action → leadership, building long-term community power and neighbourhood governance. The role combines core community organising practice with structured delivery of engagement, analysis, and leadership development.
Community Organising
Through our theory of social change, called community organising, we train thousands of everyday people to lead change in their communities, equipping them with the skills to hold politicians and other powerholders to account. We are made up of 500+ member organisations in powerful alliances throughout the UK. Our members include schools, universities, faith groups, parents’ groups, health practices, charities, trade unions and other civil society organisations.
Purpose
At Citizens UK, our organisers and project staff work within communities to develop leaders, strengthen organisations, campaign for change and organise across difference. There are various project roles and operational, communication, finance and HR roles that support the organisation and project staff and organisers to deliver on this mission and work. This work is rewarding and can be challenging; it requires a personal commitment to inclusion, a willingness to listen and disagree respectfully, and an interest in working in an organisation where our staff, member institutions and leaders will come from a diversity of backgrounds and often hold views that may be very different from our own. Onboarding and navigating this relational culture, and type of work, is supported by line managers and further training.
Main Responsibilities
As a Pride in Place Community Organiser with Peterborough Citizens, you will use the Citizens UK method to build relationships across civic institutions—such as schools, faith groups, and community organisations—to develop local leaders and strengthen their collective power. You will lead a broad listening campaign to surface shared concerns, support communities to identify priorities, and co-create strategies that turn those issues into winnable campaigns, including engaging decision-makers and organising public actions. Grounded in the belief that local people can shape their neighbourhoods, you will help deliver tangible “you said, we did” outcomes, build sustainable structures for resident voice and accountability, and contribute to the wider Pride in Place initiative by embedding long-term community leadership and change.
