About this role

The Programmes Quality and Delivery department is a key unit within SPANA’s Global Programmes Directorate (GPD). The team ensures effective oversight of the design and delivery of working animal health and welfare interventions in collaboration with a range of national NGO partners across more than 20 countries in Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Central and South America. SPANA is strengthening the GPD to support partners to develop and deliver transformational and sustainable improvements in working animal welfare. 

Reporting to a Senior Programmes Manager, the Programmes Officer provides essential grant administration and project management support to a portfolio of partners, ensuring effective oversight across the lifecycle of grants. This involves developing effective working partnerships remotely and identifying risks and issues that need to be escalated. The Programmes Officer works closely with technical colleagues responsible for Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning (MEAL), animal health and welfare, education and behaviour change and the wider organisation (e.g., communications, fundraising, advocacy and policy). 

Contract, location and salary

This role is a full-time (34.5 hours per week), permanent role. This is a UK based position, with 1-2 days per month (or more if preferred) worked from SPANA's office in London.

To support the Board in the effective management of our marketing function, including fundraising (and liaising with external fundraising organisations where appropriate). Role Overview

As the Youth Service Manager, you will lead KCBNA’s youth provision for young people within the KCBNA youth centre, King’s Cross and surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities

Programme Management:

· Lead the design and delivery of KCBNA’s diverse range of youth provision.

· Ensure all evaluation reports required by the funder is completed in a timely manner liaising with the dedicated Grants officers.

· Develop and deliver engaging workshops, training sessions, and mentoring opportunities for young people.

· Ensure a seamless transition for young people.

· Take the lead on specific projects to grow and evolve youth work in line with the organisation’s strategy.

Team Leadership:

· Line manages the Youth workers.

· Recruit, train, and manage young volunteers.

· Oversee induction, training, development, and performance management of team members.

Safeguarding and Risk Management:

· Manage day-to-day safeguarding responsibilities and report to the lead safeguarding manager.

· Conduct health and safety risk assessments to ensure safe programme delivery.

· Enhanced DBS check is required

Budget and Resource Management:

· Oversee six-figure budgets, develop management accounts and collaborate with the Finance officer.

· Ensure the effective management, maintenance and up keep of the youth centre in liaison with the KCBNA admin support officer.

Partnership Development and Fundraising:

· Write funding bids and develop partnerships with corporates and stakeholders in Camden working collaboratively with the Chief Executive and Fundraising support member.

· Design and create engaging resources.

· Lead focus groups and identify opportunities for new programmes.

· Work with the youth team and KCBNA team to create content for social media and the website.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

· Use impact feedback and evaluation data to drive programme improvement.

· Produce clear, insightful reports for internal use, stakeholders, funders, and the Trustee Board.

General Duties:

· Maintain high standards across all programmes, ensuring alignment with London Youth quality assurance.

· Be prepared to deliver services across weekends, evenings, and during Holiday periods.

· Review and improve youth programmes using feedback surveys from young people and service users.

· Carry out other reasonable duties as requested by the line manager to support the smooth running of the charity.

We are looking for a Community Fundraising Manager who will focus on leadership and net income growth of the Community Fundraising (CFR) team, who are based across the UK. The post holder will lead and manage the three regional engagement Officers, taking responsibility in actively supporting them to achieve in their posts. 

To succeed in the role, you will need entrepreneurial thinking as well as being able to collaborate with colleagues across the UK to ensure consistent support for staff and volunteers, ensuring our community fundraising activities are delivered well, in a timely manner whilst always being mindful of the return on investment.  The Community Fundraising Manager will be responsible for the delivery and growth of this area of fundraising and will be expected to meeting annual income targets and ensuring effective budget management.

Experience and Background

You will have a minimum of three years’ experience in Community Fundraising or a similar fundraising role, with experience in leading geographically dispersed teams and driving sustainable income growth within a charity or nonprofit setting. You should have a strong track record in managing and developing staff, ideally having overseen regional or community-based officers, with the ability to motivate, coach, and support individuals to achieve fundraising goals. Experience in community fundraising is essential, including planning and delivering a portfolio of activities, nurturing supporter relationships, and ensuring volunteers receive consistent, high-quality support. The role also requires proven ability in budget management, forecasting, and meeting annual income targets.

Success in this role calls for an entrepreneurial and strategic mindset, capable of identifying new opportunities for income generation while ensuring strong return on investment. The post holder must be highly collaborative, able to work effectively with colleagues across regions to drive alignment and deliver well-coordinated campaigns. Strong organisational and project-management skills are key, enabling the manager to oversee multiple initiatives delivered on time and to a high standard. Hours of Work

Hours of work are 35 hours per week, 09:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday.

Role overview:

• Contract and working conditions: This is a fixed-term role (initially 18 months) which we envisage will transition to a permanent position. • Strategic responsibilities: The Finance Manager will support financial target delivery, ensure robust financial systems, and align financial processes with organisational growth and strategy. 

• Operational duties: Responsibilities include preparation of management accounts and all financial reporting, cash flow forecasting, grant management, VAT and tax compliance, audit support, and process improvements. The role also involves liaising with external suppliers and stakeholders and overseeing payroll and pension scheme implementation and management.

• Governance and compliance: The Finance Manager will ensure adherence to the requirements of the Companies Act, Charities Act, and HMRC regulations, ensuring we prepare and submit our statutory accounts on time.  You will coordinate the annual audit, review internal controls, and report financial risks to the ESPE leadership.

• Leadership and collaboration: The role includes providing financial guidance to coordinators and teams to support informed decision-making. 

• Required experience and skills: Candidates must be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/AAT/ICAEW) with at least three years experience in financial or management accounting, preferably in a professional body or learned society. Proficiency in accounting software, and having significant knowledge and understanding of VAT (ideally across Europe), analytical skills, communication, and project management skills are essential.

Race Against Dementia is a global charity founded by three-time Formula 1 World Champion Sir Jackie Stewart OBE to find preventions, treatments and cures for dementia – faster.

We fund and support pioneering early-career scientists around the world, giving them the tools, mentoring and Formula 1-inspired mindset to accelerate breakthroughs. From the UK to the USA, Australia to South Africa, our researchers are rethinking how dementia research is done – applying data science, AI and engineering to neuroscience in bold, collaborative ways.

This role sits within Race Against Dementia’s small, dynamic Operations team, who oversee the charity’s research programmes and internal processes. The team is responsible for managing Race Against Dementia’s research portfolio – from coordinating funding calls and supporting the selection of the projects we fund, to delivering the training and development programme for our researchers.

Purpose of the role

The Research Officer plays a central role in delivering Race Against Dementia’s research activity, helping to strengthen our research programmes and support the researchers we fund. The role combines strong organisational skills with clear science communication: coordinating processes, systems and partnerships to ensure smooth delivery, while translating research progress into accessible updates for internal and external audiences.

Duties and Responsibilities

Research administration:

• Manage the administration of all grant calls and related processes.
• Coordinate all incoming communications regarding research matters, ensuring timely, professional responses.
• Maintain team calendars and shared resources to support smooth team operations.
• Set up review sessions with Race Against Dementia Fellows to monitor progress.

You will lead on fundraising from Trusts and Foundations and be responsible for relationships, applications and reporting to major Trust and Foundation funders. We are recruiting a Fundraising Manager to act as the organisation’s operational lead for income generation. This is a part-time role (18–24 hours per week) with significant flexibility, ideal for someone who is organised, thoughtful, and motivated by building something meaningful.

The Fundraising Manager will manage and coordinate income across five strands: trusts and foundations, major donors, corporate foundations, individual and digital giving, and statutory funding. While the role has a strong trusts and foundations focus, it offers real scope to build skills and experience across a broad fundraising portfolio.

Working closely with the CEO, a highly experienced freelance Bid Writer, and the wider team, you will be responsible for developing funding pipelines, producing high-quality proposals and applications, stewarding funder relationships, and translating programme impact into compelling narratives. You will also play a key role in donor communications, reporting, CRM management, and supporting campaigns and events.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys balancing writing, relationship-building, planning and delivery – and who values doing fundraising with integrity and care.

About you

We are looking for someone with experience in fundraising (particularly trusts and foundations) or strong transferable skills such as persuasive writing, project management, or stakeholder engagement. You will be comfortable managing multiple deadlines, maintaining an organised pipeline, and working independently while staying closely connected to a small team.

You will bring strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build warm, professional relationships with funders and supporters. Experience using a CRM system is important, as is an understanding of – or willingness to learn about – the UK voluntary sector funding landscape.

We are recruiting a Support Manager to provide clear leadership, coordination and oversight of our support services during a period of growth. This role is pivotal in ensuring our services are safe, sustainable, well-governed and responsive to patient needs, while supporting staff and volunteers working in emotionally demanding environments. You will work closely with the Director of Research & Programmes and collaborate across the organisation to align support services with wider strategy.

This is an ideal role for someone with experience managing support or community services in the charity or health sector, who values clarity, collaboration and compassionate leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Service Leadership & Oversight

• Provide operational oversight of Make 2nds Count’s support services, ensuring high-quality, consistent delivery.

• Embed clear processes, boundaries and decision-making routes across support activities.

• Monitor service activity, risks and capacity, escalating issues appropriately.

Safeguarding, Risk & Quality

• Act as the operational safeguarding lead for support services.

• Ensure safeguarding, incident reporting and crisis procedures are embedded, understood and followed.

• Support a culture of emotional safety and reflective practice.

Team & Volunteer Support

• Line manage and support staff within the support team.

• Work with the Director of Research & Programmes to ensure appropriate supervision structures are in place.

• Support volunteers and facilitators through clear guidance, training pathways and escalation routes.

Planning & Collaboration

• Contribute to service planning, improvement and prioritisation.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the charity, including fundraising and communications, to ensure joined-up delivery.

• Support the evaluation and development of services based on insight and learning.

About You

Essential

• Experience managing or coordinating support, community or health-related services.

• Strong understanding of safeguarding in sensitive or high-risk environments.

• Experience supporting staff or volunteers in emotionally demanding roles.

• Ability to bring structure, clarity and consistency to complex service delivery.

• Confident communicator, able to navigate sensitive conversations with care.

• Comfortable working remotely and managing your own workload.

Desirable

• Experience in cancer, health, mental health or lived-experience-led services.

• Knowledge of governance, data protection and information management.

• Experience working in a small charity or resource-constrained environment.

• Understanding of trauma-informed or compassionate practice.
