Reporting directly to the CFO and serving as a key member of the Extended Leadership Team, you will ensure resources are managed with unwavering accuracy, insight, and stewardship to support vulnerable children worldwide.

You will lead core operations—from transaction processing and monthly accounts to treasury, tax compliance, and statutory reporting. Key Responsibilities

• Financial Control & Reporting: Oversee the production of high-quality monthly management accounts and deliver statutory annual accounts under Charities SORP (FRS 102).
• Modernisation & Innovation: Act as the Finance Systems owner and define a multi-year modernisation roadmap, embedding automation, AI for efficiency, and controls-by-design.
• Strategic Leadership: Lead and develop a diverse team of 12 (5 direct reports), fostering a service-oriented business partnering culture.
• Budgeting & Fund Management: Lead the annual budgeting cycle and oversee the management of cash, remittances, and foreign currency hedges.
• Governance & Risk: Ensure full compliance with UK law and Charity Commission standards, acting as the primary lead for external audit and banking relationships.

About You

You are an outcome-focused leader who balances strategic vision with operational rigour. You possess a continuous-improvement mindset and the ability to influence senior stakeholders with commercially aware recommendations.

Essential Requirements:

• Qualified Accountant: ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with significant post-qualification experience in industry.
• Sector Expertise: Proven experience in a finance management position within the Charity sector, including the management of restricted and unrestricted funds.
• Leadership Track Record: Experience leading multi-function teams with a focus on capability building and performance management.
• Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of internal controls, technical accounting, and large-scale budgeting processes.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to present decision-ready papers to Board committees.
• Occupational Requirement: Given the leadership nature of this role and its responsibility for the spiritual nurturing of staff, there is an occupational requirement for the post holder to have an active Christian faith.

We are a National Portfolio Organisation, funded by Arts Council England, and enjoy the support of many individuals, trust and foundations and corporate supporters. We are now looking for an ambitious, creative, and energetic fundraiser to help take us into our next chapter. You might be an experienced Development leader or someone looking to take that next step, or perhaps this could be a lateral move from another related sector. You will be joining us at an exciting time whilst we build the production of our new co-created show Nanny of the Maroons, and your skills and expertise in fundraising and income-generation activity, will support us to launch this production in a way that can have real impact for the people of Coventry; whilst shaping a sustainable future for the organisation, and achieving an annual revenue funding target of £450K. 
 

This is a hands-on role focused on delivering fundraising activity, supporting income generation through campaigns, events, partnerships and donor stewardship. You will build meaningful relationships with donors, partners, and funders, working on strategies that support artistic ambition, creative learning and community engagement programmes, and long-term organisational growth. 
This role will suit someone who is organised, proactive and confident in delivering fundraising activity, and who can bring practical ideas that connect with Coventry’s diverse communities.
 

Key Working Relationships:

Internal: Director of Audiences and Growth, CEO, Artistic Director and Director of Producing and Co-creation. This role will line manage the Development Officer and oversee freelance bid writers. This role needs to have constructive relationships with all departments within the business including working closely with the audiences, marketing and communications team and colleagues across Box Office, Finance and Front of House. You will deliver a programme of fundraising activity including memberships, small, mid-scale and larger trusts and foundations, community fundraising, sponsorship and local business partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership 

• Develop and deliver a multi-year fundraising strategy aligned with organisational priorities 
• Lead on income diversification across individual giving/membership, major gifts, legacies, trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, campaigns and events 
• Set and monitor annual income targets with clear KPIs and reporting structure

Fundraising Campaigns & Income Generation

• Develop and deliver audience-focused fundraising campaigns that support theatre programming, community engagement and audience development.
• Identify and implement practical income opportunities, such as round-up donations, maximising Gift Aid and testing messaging at key audience touchpoints.

Events & Community Fundraising

• Plan, promote and deliver fundraising events including donor evenings and follow up donor cultivation, community fundraising activities and donor profile events 
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers to ensure events are well organised and provide a positive supporter experience.

Trusts, Memberships & Partnerships

• Research, write and submit applications to small, mid-scale and large trusts and foundations aligned with The Belgrade’s artistic, co-creation, educational and community activity to ensure we meet our target of 10% of turnover against fundraising activity 
• Review and refresh The Belgrade’s s membership schemes, sponsorship offers and local business fundraising opportunities.
• Develop proposals to support income from individuals, trusts and community partners.
• Establish and Develop a Legacy programme with the associated campaign 

Donor Stewardship & Supporter Care

• Support and steward donors, members and supporters through appropriate communication, recognition and reporting.
• Ensure donor recognition is accurate and visible across digital, print and in-venue materials.
• Experience of managing a varied pipeline of fundraising prospects, including identification of key internal and external milestones

Digital Fundraising & Communications

• Work with the Marketing team to create fundraising content for email, web and social media.
• Use storytelling to promote THE BELGRADE ’s charitable activity and encourage supporter engagement.

 
Monitoring, Reporting & Compliance

• Maintain accurate donor records.
• Track fundraising income and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure all fundraising activity complies with GDPR, Gift Aid requirements and Fundraising Regulator guidance.

Planning, Collaboration & Good Practice

• Contribute to the delivery of agreed annual fundraising plans, supporting our Audiences and Marketing team by tracking activity and progress against targets.
• Stay informed about THE BELGRADE ’s artistic programme and community work, working with colleagues across departments to support clear and relevant case for support.
• Build and maintain networks with fundraising colleagues in the arts and charity sectors, sharing learning and good practice with THE BELGRADE particularly at a local and regional level
• Contribute positively to THE BELGRADE ’s inclusive, collaborative and community-focused culture, supporting volunteers involved in fundraising activity where appropriate.
• Set company wide strategies to maximise individual giving around our Making Memories campaign for Pantomime and our Stage for All campaign that supports co-creation.

The postholder will be required to work from the theatre in Coventry, although some flexibility for occasional working from home is available subject to the needs of the business.  This role may require working weekends and evenings for attendance at Guest Nights and Stakeholder Events etc. from time to time for which time off can be taken in lieu.

As the Programmes Coordinator, you will handle end-to-end mentor support across recruitment, onboarding, matching, ongoing check-ins, issue resolution, and offboarding. There are no line management responsibilities in this role; this is a delivery-focused position working closely with our existing Programmes Coordinator to ensure smooth programme operations, hit matching and completion targets, and maintain high feedback scores and our safeguarding protocol. This role will report into the Delivery Hub Director.

Mentor Coordination:

✓ Serve as the main point of contact for mentor programme participants.
✓ Provide personalised support to mentors end-to-end: conducting interviews, leading onboarding/training sessions, completing DBS checks, matching mentors with mentees, running regular check-ins, organising mentor/mentee programme events, managing issues, mitigating risks, and handling offboarding and feedback.

Volunteer Coordination:

About the Role

You will:

Effectively manage and provide a pro-active, high quality frontline service to male victims of domestic abuse. You will work within a multi-agency framework consisting of MARAC and multi-agency partners when required. This role requires a specialist understanding of the barriers faced by male victims of domestic abuse and harmful practices. We particularly welcome applicants who are male, as they are under-represented in the provision of support to domestic abuse victim survivors.

• Ensure an integrated approach across media, digital and brand, aligning messaging and creative.
• Coordinate with internal teams to develop forward plans for proactive media moments, using case studies, campaigns, thought leadership, reports and partnerships.
• Identify and mitigate risks that may impact reputation, coordinating responses with internal teams.

 
Brand and Messaging

• Oversee brand messaging and visual identity, collaborating with members to  galvanise engagement and reach and ensuring consistent application across all channels.
• Provide guidance to colleagues and external partners on tone of voice, key messages and visual standards.
• Ensure communications are inclusive, accessible and reflective of the communities we serve.

 
Storytelling and Content Leadership

• Oversee development of versatile, high-quality content including imagery, video, copy, and digital storytelling assets, working closely with the Communications Lead to take a strategic approach across audiences.
• Shape the forward content plan for digital channels, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
• Use data and insight to inform digital content strategy and continuous improvement.
• Lead and inspire the team to gather emotive case studies that bring to life the work and impact of NHS charities.

 
Media Operations

• Oversee a responsive, well-run press office managing enquiries, monitoring coverage and ensuring timely, high-quality responses.
• Support and guide the PR Manager to maximise media presence with target audiences.
• Build relationships with journalists and position NHS Charities Together and the wider NHS charity sector with our priority audiences.
• Oversee the team to manage our relationships with high profile supporters and celebrities.
• Act as a spokesperson where appropriate.

 
Digital Channels

• Line-manage the Senior Communications Officer to ensure our digital channels effectively support organisational objectives.
• Oversee planning and delivery across website, social media and email marketing.
• Ensure digital activity is insight-led, audience-focused and continually optimised through analytics.

 
Campaigns, Events and Activities

• Oversee delivery of campaigns and events, ensuring they are well planned, impactful and aligned to brand and messaging.
• Work with internal teams to maximise the communications and marketing potential of organisational activities.
• Provide strategic input and coordination across multi-channel campaigns.

 
Collaboration and Leadership

• Work closely with the Director of Strategic Engagement and the Associate Director of Communications and Engagement and the Communications Lead to develop shared priorities, workflows and team culture.
• Provide leadership, mentoring and clear direction to team members.
• Represent Communications across the organisation and with external partners when required.
