This includes the funding of specialist medical equipment to ensure our brilliant surgeons and clinical staff have the most up to date and cutting edge technology available and funding hi-tech distraction equipment designed and proven to reduce pain and anxiety in our patients. We also fund a range of programmes and special projects such as our ward musicians, our on-site magician and the play specialists we have on every ward. 

About this role 

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of children's healthcare by developing compelling cases for support and leading fundraising proposition development for one of the UK's most ambitious children's hospital charities. 

The Philanthropy Propositions Lead will be responsible for creating inspiring, evidence-based fundraising propositions that secure transformational philanthropic support from major donors, trusts and foundations. 

Working across Alder Hey Children's Charity and Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation, the postholder will develop and project manage a pipeline of strategic funding opportunities. This will include helping to coordinate the Charity's capital appeal programme, ensuring complex projects progress efficiently from early concept through to successful fundraising and delivery. 

This role combines exceptional writing, strategic thinking, stakeholder management and project leadership, ensuring every fundraising proposition tells a compelling story of how philanthropy can transform children's healthcare. 

Key Responsibilities will include: 

Case for support and fundraising proposition development 

• Write transformational cases for support which demonstrate clear patient benefit, articulate the case for charitable funding and include meaningful outcomes and impact measures. 

• Produce bespoke proposals for major donors and funders. 

• Create compelling donor and funder updates and reports.

Funding opportunity pipeline development 

• Maintain a pipeline of future funding opportunities, ensuring sufficient project information is available before entering fundraising. 

• Ensure proposed projects have clear objectives, realistic budgets, measurable outcomes and defined timescales. 

Capital Appeal Coordination 

• Develop project plans for complex fundraising opportunities and monitor progress across multiple workstreams. 

• Coordinate regular project meetings with clinical, operational and fundraising colleagues. 

Internal Collaboration 

• Build strong relationships with colleagues and clinicians in the Trust. 

• Work collaboratively with the Charity Grants and Impact Team, Alder Hey  clinicians and Trust staff and colleagues across the Charity to develop compelling funding opportunities for agreed projects and areas of work. 

Other Duties 

• Be an outstanding advocate for Alder Hey Children’s Charity in line with the core values of the organisation. 

• Be an active and supportive member of the Alder Hey Children’s Charity team, contributing to the team’s development and working collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers. 

• Attend and support events run by fundraising teams whererequired, including occasional out-of-hours working. 

• Keep up to date with trends in philanthropy, healthcare fundraising and capital appeals, applying learning to strengthen fundraising propositions. 

• Gain andmaintainan in-depth knowledge and understanding of the charity’s work,prioritiesandfuture plans.

Additional Information 

In April 2025, the charity adopted a four-day working week policy. Staff previously working 37.5 hours now work 30 hours across four days, maintaining full pay while supporting a better work-life balance.

RAID has 4 main advice areas: Information Navigation, Benefits Advice, Energy Advice and Money Advice. The Cost of Living Crisis has disproportionally impacted Disabled people, who are more likely to face higher living costs, barriers to employment and reduced financial resilience, making it harder to cope with rising household expenses. Many of the people we see are in challenging situations; struggling with debt, experiencing food and fuel poverty, facing homeless and dealing with loneliness and isolation. The work can be emotionally challenging.

As well as our advice work we administer a number of grants on behalf of local grant giving charities and the local authority and you will play a key role in helping us to process grants in a timely and efficient way as well as supporting with advice enquiries.

Our teams are busier than ever and this role will play a vital part in supporting the team with administration tasks including; processing grants and gathering client evidence, taking client enquiries from the phone, website and email and uploading them to our database, scanning and photocopying.

You will spend your time working directly with clients with a range of physical, sensory and mental health impairments to help them to fill in grant allocation forms and other forms and helping people to know their rights. You will also support our advice teams administratively; arranging appointments, sending emails and letters and uploading information to our database

You will receive training in a range of advice areas (housing, health and social care, benefits, transport and travel) as well as other relevant topics such as various mental health conditions, managing challenging behaviour, professional boundaries, and case management. You will be supported by a friendly team of experienced advisers who will have the opportunity to shadow and you will also have access to a range of external training and development opportunities.

You will need to have clear written and oral communication skills as you will need to make phone calls and write emails and letters to clients as well as providing progress updates to the team.

You will work closely with our experienced advice team and we can offer opportunities for training and development in a range of areas including social care, housing and benefits to support you on your journey to becoming and advisor.

Job Title : Group Facilitator- CashBack Connections Project
Hours : Part-time, 5 to 10 hours weekly (daytime and evening groups available)

Role

CashBack Connections supports young people from across North and South Lanarkshire aged 10-16, who are at risk of involvement in antisocial behaviour and/ or offending.  We will be providing 5 groups based in different locations across North and South Lanarkshire and where required will offer additional 1-1 support for the young people.

The Groups aim to encourage and empower young people to identify positive pathways of their choosing by providing activities that focus on both social and practical life skills, including:

• Creative workshops: arts, crafts, music, and drama that allow participants to express themselves creatively and build confidence.
• Life skills workshops: age-appropriate activities that foster self-sufficiency and resilience.
• Physical activities: to promote wellbeing and improve physical health.
• Community outings: activities chosen to enhance social skills and provide experiences that may otherwise be inaccessible.

The Group Facilitators will help co-design the calendar of activities in collaboration with the young people to ensure their ideas and voices are the focus and drive for each session.  You will be a positive role model supporting the children and young people to actively engage with the activity, feel safe and respected and build meaningful peer relationships.  As a result we are aspiring to reduce the risk of antisocial behaviour/offending and help the young people to realise their full potential.

You will have a supportive team of volunteers that will look to you for support and guidance.  You will work collaboratively with the Project Coordinators to ensure all activities are risk assessed and children and young people at risk are supported in line with our Child Protection and Safeguarding polices, creating individualised, robust support plans.

Breakdown of Hours

• 2 hours for group delivery to around 10 young people.
• 1 hour to assist with pick up and drop offs for the young people to remove barriers for attending the group.

We're looking for 5 Perinatal Peer Supporters to join us to provide compassionate, non-judgemental peer support to mothers, birthing people and families across Kent. Support will be delivered through a range of settings, including face-to-face and virtual peer support groups. 

Working closely with our Perinatal Peer Support Service Lead, volunteers, health professionals and community partners, you will help create safe and welcoming spaces where parents can connect, share experiences and access appropriate support. 

Join our passionate team and contribute to the meaningful work that transforms the loves of parents and families. Your role will include: 

• Facilitating welcoming and supportive perinatal peer support groups across Kent, including providing cover for additional sessions when required. 

• Building trusting relationships with parents and families, using active listening and peer support skills to help people feel heard, understood and supported. 

• Identifying when someone may need additional support, signposting to appropriate local services and escalating safeguarding or wellbeing concerns where necessary. 

• Working with volunteers, health and social care professionals, Family Hubs and community partners to increase awareness of the service and strengthen local referral pathways. 

• Supporting the ongoing development of the service through accurate record keeping, feedback, data collection, promotional activity and participation in service review meetings.

· Organise volunteer coordination, cheerpoints and event-day logistics for flagship third-party events such as the London Marathon.

· Liaise with third-party event providers, ensuring timely participant registration on supplier consoles and accurate administration.

· Research, identify and engage schools, community organisations and local groups to generate new fundraising opportunities, building relationships through proactive outreach and stewardship.

Were hiring for a Trust and Statutory Fundraising manager to join us at Seashell to lead on the trust and foundations fundraising strategy for the charity, driving increased income for capital redevelopment projects and day to day revenue fundraising. They will extend the portfolio of high profile, grant-making trusts and foundations that support the charity along with securing significant funds from statutory funders such as government, Lottery and Sports England.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on trust and statutory fundraising, developing and delivering the strategy for both capital and revenue fundraising to drive increased restricted and unrestricted income.
• Set trust and statutory income targets and oversee income forecasting for capital and revenue, keeping the Head of Fundraising abreast of performance against target.
• Lead on developing and overseeing due diligence procedures for trust, statutory and major donor prospects to ensure staff follow due process.
• Share project information, budgets and statistics gathered for appeals with the wider fundraising and marketing team.
• Work with the Data Officer to ensure the database is maintained with accurate and consistent donor and prospect information in line with GDPR and related legislation

• Extensive experience in a trust fundraising role in the charity sector and the process behind it.
• A demonstrable track record of income generation through personally securing six and seven figure gifts from grant-making trusts, foundations and statutory sources
• Experience of leading and delivering effective and practical fundraising strategies to include target setting, forecasting and income reporting

The Side-by-Side project supports children in care and care leavers to have the same opportunities as those who have not experienced care.

For many young people, navigating the care system and especially the transition to leaving care can be complex, isolating, and overwhelming. Too often, care-experienced young people are expected to face adulthood before they are ready, without the safety nets of family, friends, and community networks that many of us take for granted.

The project provides a mentoring and befriending service, offering consistent, trusted relationships that help young people feel less alone, build confidence and life skills, and navigate key life changes as they move towards independence.

Side-by-Side supports young people with a range of needs, including those who may be at risk of exploitation, unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, and young people living with identified mental health challenges. The project is guided by strong safeguarding practice, built on trust, and delivered through trauma-informed, person-centred approaches.

Working 18 hours per week, you will work directly with young people through engagement sessions, group activities and co-designed initiatives. You will also work alongside volunteers, supporting them to safely and effectively engage with young people. This role does not involve acting as a young person’s key worker or holding a caseload. Instead your focus is on enabling connections, strengthening community networks and creating opportunities for young people to thrive across Solihull.

Please note this is a fixed term contract position for 12 months.

Alongside warmth and conviction, you will need persistence, disciplined follow-through and the confidence to ask for significant financial support when relationships are ready — potentially including gifts of up to seven figures.
