The role
Head of Research and Engagement: This is a senior and varied role where you will lead and oversee our research grants, MS service mapping, supported research and Helpline. Working closely with the Director of Services, you will set priorities, manage key roles, develop stakeholder relationships and make sure our research and mapping findings are shared clearly, accurately and accessibly. You will help strengthen our engagement with the NHS, professional bodies and partners, ensuring our work is rooted in real experience and has practical impact for people with MS.

As our Youth Engagement Worker, you will play a key role in ensuring the voices and experiences of young people help shape Frontline’s work, programmes and influence.
Working closely with the Youth Engagement Manager, you will support the delivery and growth of our youth engagement offer for young people aged 14-25 with experience of social work and children’s services.
This role has been created to support the expansion of our youth engagement work to include young people aged 14-17. Job Title: Philanthropy Officer
Reporting to: Philanthropy Manager
Purpose of the Role
The role of the Philanthropy Officer is to manage the gift administration and stewardship of supporters, lead on the stewardship of regular and individual givers, and support the Philanthropy Manager to grow the Individual Giving income stream for Chance to Shine.
This includes responsibility for the coordination of individual giving campaigns, management of the administration of legacy gifts, and wider regular giving campaigns and appeals.
Key responsibilities
Supporter Care
- Ensure all donations are efficiently and accurately recorded and acknowledged in a timely fashion.
- Process all individual giving bank donations including website/third-party fundraising/gift-collection platforms and ensure they are efficiently and accurately entered onto our Raisers Edge database and processed (cash, cheques, credit cards, Direct Debits and vouchers) daily.
- Maintain accurate electronic supporter records including donations, personal details, Gift Aid declarations, communication preferences and any other data relating to their support.
- Write and update template thank you letters.
- Respond to donor enquiries and provide personalised information as and when requested.
- Work with the Philanthropy Manager and the Communications and Marketing team to develop the supporter care strategy, proactively identifying and implementing new ways of improving supporter care.
Supporter Cultivation
- Coordinate appeals and campaigns to help upgrade supporters and bring in new donors.
- Regularly identify lapsed committed supporters with a view to reengaging them via fundraising cultivation.
- Produce copy for fundraising materials alongside the Communications and Marketing team and organise the distribution of these materials to supporters in a coordinated manner.
- Support the Philanthropy Manager on the organisation and execution of project visits for supporters including attending visits where needed.
- Support the Philanthropy Manager and Director of Fundraising with funding proposals and reports as needed.
- Support the Philanthropy Manager and Director of Fundraising when preparing for meetings and calls with current and prospective new supporters.
- Support on the research and identification of new prospects
Legacy gifts
- Lead on communications with legacy and in-memory supporters to ensure that this is sensitively managed and reflects the values of Chance to Shine.
- Monitor and maintain legacy gifts on the database and support with the administration of legacies for the organisation.
Compliance and Data Protection
- Support on data protection compliance for the fundraising team working with the Director of Finance and Resources and Fundraising team as appropriate.
- Ensure all fundraising processes comply with data protection regulations, (including Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR) the Code of Fundraising Practice and any other regulatory bodies.
- Lead on updating supporters’ consent and preferences to comply with fundraising regulations and best practice.
General Support
- Manage fundraising income administration, including donation processing and income reconciliation with Finance Team.
- Lead on organisational Gift Aid, including Gift Aid promotion and submitting claims.

They often develop advanced illness at a much younger age than the general population and face significant barriers to accessing health and social care. Too many people die without their palliative care needs being recognised or addressed.
We are looking for a compassionate, skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Complex Needs Worker, supporting people experiencing homelessness who have palliative and end-of-life care needs.
In this role you will:
- Work with clients with palliative care need in partnership with the lead worker, listening to clients’ values and choices, supporting clients to access palliative care and advocating for their choices to be honoured.
- Offer advice and support, both emotional and practical, to staff working with clients with complex and palliative care needs, helping to create a supportive and trauma-informed environment.
- Identify, develop and maintain external relationships with statutory and non-statutory service providers to increase accessibility to support for clients with palliative care needs.
- Together with the Palliative Care Manager and Complex Needs Team, develop and deliver training sessions to St Mungo’s staff in palliative care and homelessness and other health-related matters.
About you

The Policy and Convening Manager develops influencing strategies based on the insights from Impact on Urban Health programmes, builds coalitions and leads a new cross-programme approach to convening – including showcasing evidence from the Foundation and its partners, and delivering targeted policy-focused events. The role involves experimenting with new approaches to deliver impact, spotting opportunities to influence, and leading investment partnerships with a policy angle, which may include commissioning research or designing campaigns.
The Policy and Convening Manager works with the Head of Policy and Influencing on engagement with key parliamentary and governmental stakeholders and collaborates with Communications colleagues to create impactful policy communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Working with the Head of Policy and Influencing, develop and deliver compelling influencing strategies for our Urban Health programmes.
- Lead on development of a new policy convening strategy, encompassing our approaches to building coalitions, delivering policy events, and platforming the work of our funded partners.
- Develop, lead and manage through our partnership life cycle a portfolio of investment partnerships with a particular influencing focus within these programmes.
- Act as a source of policy expertise and political insight for colleagues across the organisation, proactively briefing on key political events and policy developments.
- Lead horizon scanning to identify proactive and reactive influencing opportunities, and deliver this activity in partnership with internal and external colleagues.
- Working closely with Communications Managers, develop and deliver impactful communications to influence.
- Bring a diversity, equity and inclusion lens to all our policy and influencing activity, whether in how we work with our partners or in our own systems and processes.

The Advice programme provides trusted information, resources, advice and casework in Spanish and Portuguese on key areas of need, including immigration, welfare entitlements, housing and homelessness prevention. The Volunteer Coordinator (Nag’s Head Farm) will lead the recruitment, administration and support of volunteers for Camp Jojo’s Cumbria camps. As the main point of contact throughout the volunteer journey, they will manage applications, maintain databases, coordinate communications and ensure volunteers are successfully placed at camp.
Working closely with the Operations Manager and supported by the experienced team at Ivy Farm, Essex, the role also includes providing administrative support and attending volunteer-related meetings. We are seeking an exceptional advocate with a policy, legal or related digital rights campaigning background to work with us furthering privacy and civil liberties in the UK at one of the UK’s leading rights NGOs. Initially, this role will be principally challenging facial recognition surveillance and scrutinising police surveillance/AI powers.
The right Senior Advocacy Officer will help us to lobby UK Parliament to further privacy and wider rights at a critical time – when a legal framework on police use of facial recognition is very soon to be introduced, and police are expanding their use of AI and new surveillance technologies. You’ll build on your strong experience to be a credible and proactive lobbyist in Parliament, write expert briefings and be confident meeting parliamentarians, take a leading role liaising with policy stakeholders, advise on strategic litigation, be a leading advocate in the press and the public forum, develop policy positions on key issues, and help drive our public campaigns for change.
About you
You’ll have 3+ years experience in a legal or policy capacity, or in a comparable advocacy environment that relied on your expertise on technology and rights issues – ideally involving facial recognition. You’ll have a strong track record of advocacy success.
You’ll be familiar with key litigation and policy issues in the area. You’ll also have excellent knowledge of British politics and UK parliamentary procedures and strong political contacts to match.

We are looking for a Finance Manager to join the staff team at Godalming Minster, an active church across 4 locations in Godalming.
